Stopped here mid ride on the amazing rail trail. Best French toast I've ever had. Fresh berries, with crispy toast and maple syrup. The carrot cake was also delicious, with grated carrot and a fresh crumb texture, with yummy icing that was not too sweet!

Another popular cafe, chicken quesadilla was yum and portion size was generous more than enough for two. Toilets were clean. The seating was outside and just too many flies couldn’t eat comfortably.

We had breakfast here 2 days in a row it was that good! I’d only ever had coffee here before but this time around we had food too & weren’t disappointed. The French toast is amazing as is the breakfast burrito. Prices are pretty reasonable & very decent meal sizes. Can’t wait to come again to try something else on the menu!

Had breakfast here twice over the weekend and we had the breakfast burrito, French toast and large cup of almond mocha 😋 honestly one of the best cafes I've been too! Generous serving size, friendly staff, and clean toilets too! Love the look of the Cafe as well. Highly recommend!!

Best tasting coffee. Had to wait a while but coffee was worth it. Lovely doggie biscuit for our dog. Made us feel very welcome. Seating with dappled shade...very pleasant. Would definitely go back

Hands down the best thing about Porepunkah!! Never disappointed no matter what I order from here whether it be coffee, breakfast or lunch. It’s always busy with cyclists and tourists coming through to enjoy what’s on offer but even if there’s a wait it’s always worth it every time! Looking forward to coming back hopefully very soon!

Amazing meals! I am absolutely a repeat customer. The food is fresh and the quality is amazing. The customer service is also great and its a cute little spot to have a coffee and watch the world go by.

These guys do the best food! My favourite is the beef burrito. The breakfast burrito is also a hit in our family and my husband swears the burger is the best one he has tasted. Don’t leave town without trying!!!

I have ridden past this little cafe 50 times. A few weeks ago I drove there for breakfast (felt bad that I wasn't on the bike but there you go - it was only 2 degrees). We had the most amazing breakky. Fabulous food and coffee. I will definitely go back.

Awesome breaky spot... Great coffee, delicious food and friendly staff, a must stop in Punka.

Stopped off for lunch at this great out-of-the-way cafe, as we rode the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. Recommend everything on the menu. Nachos, burgers, chicken wraps, toasted sandwiches were the best which our group had every had, for re-fuelling.

Amazing place to sit outside on a nice autumn day and enjoy some great food and coffee. Thank you for your friendly service and the breaky burrito was delicious

Great food, at a good price, the only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that they need to hire extra staff, for the peak holiday times.

Spicy Beef Burrito - YUM and the Lime Margarita - worth the drive from Melbourne just for that, not to mention breakfast the next morning. Great spot - we will be back.

Fantastic food, beautiful weather yesterday, great location, but having to wait over half an hour for two coffees was disappointing and whst should have been 5/5!!

Our first time here we ordered ‘muffins’ which were , then we rode our bikes to visit another cafe close by to find close, so came here and had to pay $6 for a croissant which they told me would take 40mins to warm up...was stale and slapped with 15%surcharge, that will be $6.90 for a stale croissant that will take 40 mins to warm up thanks! plus coffees are more expensive than Melbourne!

Had the best Thickshake. Great spot to stop along the trail.

Highly recommend. Great service and fantastic food.

Excellent coffee, good happy service and nice food. All at a reasonable price. They had a big crowd to feed and did it well.

Totally unimpressed. I was not even allowed in the door to get out of the cold, but a few locals were in there to read the paper. It seems it was only open for locals. My money goes elsewhere, and I’ll never be back.

Thank you so much for making us the most delicious vegan burrito with a side of Avo. What a throughly enjoyable lunch!

I used to love this place, but it has really gone downhill. The food and coffee are still good and that’s why I’m giving it a 2, but the service is super slow and multiple times now they have forgotten things. We waited 50 minutes just for coffee and when we approached them, they were also confrontational. After 10 years of going here every day over Easter, we won’t be going back this time.

8 of us for our weekend away breakfast this morning, very surprised and impressed with this little gem. Arrived, found a seat and order at the counter from the menu on the boards above the counter. Coffees arrived quickly and very nice coffee it was. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We were all happy and impressed with everything, very good.

Had Breakfast here and may I say it has to be the best breakfast someone could buy in the whole valley. Its always so busy so patients may be needed here. Well worth the wait and very friendly staff. I will be back :)))

Really disappointed with my last visit to the Rail Trail Cafe. Apart from the 5 times it took the woman to put my order in to the till, then the 50 min delay on the food, followed by the wrong coffee order, I really like it. It's such a shame your business has gone so far downhill. Such a gorgeous location.

Visited here during Xmas and again this weekend. As expected the service was quicker and friendlier this weekend as the staff had time to breathe! In my opinion people should expect this when they visit a small country town cafe. The food was delicious, timely and very well presented. Coffee was also very good. The courtyard is inviting, and has enough shade for warm summer days. We'll be back there today!

Was just charged $9.40 for two small coffees which is outrageous and the coffee wasn't even very nice. Shame as we were here last year and it was good so don't know if management has changed but we won't be back

True, there is a .50 cent surcharge for electronic payment. Is the coffee 'something special? No, just 'good coffee'.....but the food.....beautiful! We've been to this place every March/April for the past 5; we wouldn't miss the experience. The setting is delightful; the Beef and Bacon Burger is magnificent! The Nachos are brilliant! Please done be put off by miserable people who feel the need to complain about everything.

Nothing special - apart from the extra charge!. Cycling through the Ovens Valley and stopped here for a snack - the coffee was nothing special at $4.00 but being charged an extra .50 cents for any sort of electronic payment (credit card OR EFT) was surprising - and unwelcome.

Great food and service. We travel to Bright every 3 months for business, and always make a stop at The Rail Trail Cafe. The food is excellent, huge serves and beautifully cooked. Great coffee and really friendly service. The cakes are really good as well.

Worst service ever. Even i.... Worst service ever. <br/>Even if the cashier didn't hear the word vegetarian, it doesn't mean they should presume I want chicken then blame me for getting the order wrong. Ps it was a soy cap, not a soy latte.
Aussiegirl
Awesome location. Try the breakfast burrito. To die for. New take away coffee stand right on the bike trail. Convenient and quick. Excellent coffee, service and ambience. Kid friendly too.

Great coffee friendly service. Recommend date scones . Lots of bike parking on the rail trail.
