Great value, great authentic food, warm atmosphere. Not a bad word said among our group of six people. Look forward to visiting again soon :)
I had he lamb souvlaki and it was DELICIOUS. Beautiful and tender, just the right amount if seasoning.
The serving sizes were on the bigger side, which I was pleased about. Will come back to try the seafood.
Another restaurant suggested by a friend as I had never been before.
When we (3) arrived we were seated straight away but that's because there was no one else in the cafe. We ordered some champers which arrived quickly and then looked at the menu.
A large variety to chose from. We ordered the following oysters Kilpatrick - garlic bread - garlic prawns - salmon - (me) 3 combination yiros (lamb chicken pork) I also asked for tatziki sauce and yiros bread which didn't come with the dish but was not a problem.
My guests enjoyed their meals my yiros combo was delicious. The meat very tender good servings and yiros bread great!
Prices are VERY reasonable for the serving size and so were the drinks.
Only negative better housekeeping on window stills dead flies and spider off putting. Service could be better as I cleared dishes from our table to the next. BUT food was excellent.
What an interesting night of dining. We arrived early and the place was vacant, within the hour it was pumping!! We all ordered Entrees, that was a huge mistake because we ate too much... the mains were very very generous! The meat was amazing! Didn't finish our mains and had to get take away containers.
The waiting staff seemed a little unprofessional and clumsy, one plate collision near our table and then a guest at another table had a full glass of wine spilt all over his clothes!! Well priced old school Greek restaurant, we will be going back! š
Went there for a Saturday family day out. It was quiet there so we thought the food there was a bit average. We were totally wrong. The food was really beyond expectations! We ordered a seafood platter for two and everything came out were so fresh and the size was decent. Love their side salad as well. It's full of flavour and very fresh! Quite satisfied and will go back again!
ARGO - a wonderful place to spend time - food never fails to impressĀ - but go there to eatĀ Greek cuisine and drink Greek wine, don't bother if you just want flavouredĀ pub-food.Ā The host is a treasure - every time we visit it's like we are welcomed intoĀ his homeĀ - he'll read you his fine poetry if you dare him.Ā We love Argo -Ā a rare gem in a great Pt Adelaide location

Absolutely fantastic squid. The chips and salad were fine and what you would expect but the calamari was tender and delicious. If it was only the squid I would give it 5 stars!
Nice service albeit a bit slow. The food is very flavoursome and traditional. I had the pork souvlaki and the meat was nice. Thought the chips has been sitting for a bit which was a let down considering that I was looking forward to some hot, salty chips. I did come in with a very large group of 16 pax, so maybe that's why. Dips and pita were traditional and delicious.
Serves are HUGE also.
A nice find down in the port.
Yummmmm!!!!. This has to be one of the best greek restaurants in adelaide! The food is seriously good!!!
Food is always delicious, good serve sizes and good price.
Service is consistently very average though. Every time we come there is a problem with the service of some kind.
Great food - would certainly return. A great cafe with live Greek music and varied and delicious menu. Service is bitsy but kind and generous when needed. Great value, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere!
Delicious. The food is great although the service is a little ad hoc. We had a mix of mezes to share and this worked really well. The desserts were all the genuine article - so good! Try the Bougatsa!
Great food will return. But I couldn't tell if the waiter was looking at me or outside which put me off my meal.
Brilliant!. Went for dinner on a friday night, the 4 of us adding to what must have been a pre-Xmas Greek party, as the place was full of people of seemingly Greek heritage. Excellent sign! However, the owner asked if we'd mind sitting outside in the area reserved for El Grecos. No problem at all, it was a lovely evening and there was already evidence of overspill from this apparently popular venue. A platter for 2, shared between 4 was plenty as a starter. Grilled haloumi, prawns, whitebait, calamari, mince stuffed tomatoes, pita and tsatziki. All perfect! The 4 mains were excellent too. The lamb souvlaki skewer was fantastic, with the smokiness of 'over coals cooking' evident. The slow cooked goat and potatoes looked lovely and the prawn skewers were very tasty. The lamb minced stuffed with feta was massive. Service was brilliant. They apologised for being slow but in my opinion it was perfectly paced. What a great treasure. Can't believe I've never been here before. It may take a few revisits to try the slow cooked goat though, that lamb souvlaki was just so bloody good..!
ARGOS. Fresh honest traditional Greek food served with tradition Greek music, book for a Friday night
Theo is a great host, great prices, great food, great service. Love it !
BRILLIANT AUTHENTIC GREEK. Unfortunately all my favourite Greek places seem to be closing down but hopefully Argo will be around for a while. We ate here for the first time about a month ago and decided to have the banquet because we were quite hungry. By the time we finish we were so full we couldnāt even squeeze in dessert. Every course was outstanding and I suspect everything on the menu must be good as the place was filled to capacity. Obviously a family run business as everyone who served us was very friendly and went to great lengths to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time. Iāve also since found out I know a number of other people who have eaten here and everyone has been more than happy. I highly recommend going here as this is my new favourite Greek restaurant.
As good as the first time. Dropped by Argo for lunch today and the food was once again spot on - big serves, beautiful dips, melt in the mouth calamari and very tasty yiros. Don't expect 5 star service, but highly recommended local, quality eatery
Slow Cooked Goat. Absolutely melt-in-the-mouth delicious. And the potatoes in the dish are also to die for.
A wonderful local gem. Luckily I live only a couple of kilometres away and have been several times to Argo for lunch. If Argo isn't one of the best Greek restaurants in Adelaide then my name's not Panagiotis (just kidding, it's not). Top value, excellent food, the calamari is perfect every time, very friendly and welcoming service and it's right in the Port. Get down to the Black Diamond Corner and toddle over to Argo but bring an appetite. Kali orexi!
Great food. $33 5 course banquet was amazing!!! Staff friendly and attentive but took too long to get coffee at the end. I'll be going back soon!
5 stars. This restaurant earns the full 5. The food is as Greek as it gets. Fenomenal. It's like a small taverna in de mountains you stumble on after a long drive on one of the Greek islands. Fresh food, lovely grill. I think the other 3 star reviews are mainly service speed. We went for lunch and were ordered really fast. Would 10/10 recommend!
The food is delicious, you can't fault it, but...I was standing at the counter a long time to buy something and I was persistently ignored (it seemed deliberately) by the man behind the counter, whilst those either side of me (all men) were served promptly - eventually a woman behind the counter noticed and stepped in and served me. Shabby behaviour
Amazing Greek food that my Greek friend commented is comparable to her grandma's cooking. There's actually a Greek grandma and grandpa who do most of the cooking!
Great food and service , you won't leave hungry
Great food and services, deserts was delicious as were the chicken shashlicks
