Came to Port Douglas from Melbourne for my Mum’s 60th birthday and ordered a birthday cake from here. Cake was absolutely amazing, ordered a vanilla sponge with strawberries and profiteroles on top and was delicious, even my mum who never likes any cakes loved it. Thank you for making her birthday that little bit more special.
Got pepper steak pie. Was delicious. And it has steak in it rather than mince. So many bakeries pass of mince instead of steak. Good to see tasty, full flavor pies 👌
We ordered a birthday cake from here on less than 24 hours notice. They were really helpful and the strawberry sponge cake they made for us was absolutely fabulous. Would highly recommend.
delicious pies and milkshakes, first time visiting and I'm very much looking forward to coming back!
By far the best pies and pastries in town!
Amazing Australian native meat pies. Quite unique. Plus...they are absolutely delicious. A must if you visit Port Douglas!
Best coffee in town and pies are awsome. Fantastic birthday cake. mockas pies saved the day.
I had two croc. Lhaksa pies over 2 days. Awesome😋 And my husband had 2 chicken and leek pasties over 2 days. 👌🏼We would move to PD just for Mockas Pies and we aren’t big pie eaters. Staff are friendly and polite. Thanks guys, best food experience in a long time😁
The best pies I've ever had, particularly the crocodile laksa! It's amazing
If I could give this place 8 stars out of 5 I would. Was brilliant 36 years ago when i first came here. Just brought my family back and it was so good. Pies cooked to perfection and amazing fillings. Try the crocodile laksa
Best pies Eva. Loved Croc Laksa and Potato Top Pies. Hubby enjoyed his too. Recommend a must in Port Douglas.
OMG! I thought us Kiwis knew how to make a good pie but seriously, we give it to you guys. We had the Kangaroo and the Breakfast Pie.
Best and most perfectly cooked pastry ever had. And the Kangaroo was the meatiest, gutsiest filling . An egg in a steak pie. Brilliant!
My waistline is glad I live in New Zealand and not Port Douglas. Well done guys. Awesome pies
Must say it's one of the best pies in FNQ. .
Best pies and friendliest staff! Had the pleasure of working there more than 10 years ago while travelling Australia! The owners are fantastic and such friendly people.
Greetings from Germany
Martin
Great pies, fresh bread, lovely desserts and friendly service. Everything is made on the premises. Love the Kangaroo Pie and Cornish Pastie. They also do a fantastic sourdough and Danish Rye bread. Fresh croissants in the morning! Highly recommend.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Large variety in pies (regular & “exotic”) & treats, though pies are best! We really liked our roo pie & lamb/rosemary pie. Perfect for a picnic lunch. (4/5)
Absolutely delicious pie pastry and filling! Had the seafood chowder, crocodile laksa and classic Mocka beef pie and they were all yummy! Also bought the rye loaf and it was light, fluffy and delicious!
Got in at 3pm alot.of.stock was sold. Steak and mushroom pie amazing lives up to all the awards on the wall. Vanilla slice was creamy and full of flavor. Eclairs to die.for so.good bought all of them out that was left.
Outstanding pies coming from a pie officionado. Pastry was great, fillings were excellent and a fantastic selection to choose from. Perhaps the price was a bit steep and the workers are a fraction grumpy at times but still worthy of 5 stars for a quality pie.
Pretty decent, very clean and the staff are friendly enough. My family and I didn’t mind the food- especially the sausage rolls and chilli pies. Would come back for a quick and easy meal at PD.
We took the courage to try the crocodile and kangaroo pies ($13.50). We ordered a mini pizza roll for our little toddler ($2). Verdict: Delicious!!!
This place is a classic around Port Douglas - you absolutely must get a pie when you visit. Steak and onion is recommended. As my dad says, a Mockas' pie is a meal in itself.
Excellent!
Not sure this place needs another review, its reputation in PD precedes itself.
The croc and roo pies were delicious. Unique and delicious. The pastry was excellent. Crispy on the outside, very savory on the inside. The filling didn't feel heavy and I could definitely have eaten two pies myself. Service was fast and they had tons of other choice. As an aside, the orange cake was amazing!
Nice little pie shop, friendly customer service and tasty pies. I had the potato top pie and it was delicious. My boyfriend had steak and mushroom which was also beautiful! Highly recommend if you're after a pie. Milkshakes are great too
Crazy good tasting pies here with different types of pies which include crocodile laksa (my partner thought it was great and when we came back a 2nd time she had it again) kangaroo (which was really good) tuna morney (very tasty) chicken and veg pie (better than your average pie place) and there desserts like cronuts (very impressed) and apple pie were good also. I see in the walls awards and they deserve it! Highly recommend pies here
Amazing pies , however if you would like a good coffee then this is not the place to go. Nevertheless would return to this friendly cafe. 3.5 stars
Delicious pies. Loved the pies whilst in Port Doulgas. A must try. The staff were helpful in recommending which pies to try.
Great Pies.. Went multiple times while in PD, loved the seafood and kangaroos pies and very good sausage rolls! They even have par baked pies in individual and family sizes if your are doing some self-catering, which we utilised to great effect. Lamingtons were also very nice.
Best pie I have had in a long time.. The kangaroo pie was fantastic. Not a place to be missed while visiting Port Douglas.
Great pies! Had the steak and hubby had the crocodile. Pastry was beautiful and the filling is generous.
Good homemade pies. Not gourmet but obviously quality ingredients. Had the original pies and pleasantly surprised to find it was chunky meat instead of mince. Pastry was lovely. Server dealing with idiot customers ahead of us commendable for her good humour and patience.
Just a very good version of your typical bakery pies
The potato pie was superb!
A great little local bakery in Port Douglas, Mocka's makes a bloody beut pie. I had the original steak pie and was treated to plenty of large chunks of melt-in-the-mouth tender beef, in a rich, thick gravy that wasn't overly salty or obviously artificially thickened. The gravy tastes mostly of meat and onions, as it should. The pastry was excellent. Crispy, light puff pastry for a lid, on top of perfect pastry for the base. I ate it on a plate, so the bag test will be for next time.
Great pies and sausage rolls, son said he gives the sausage rolls 10/10 so must be pretty good. My tuna mornay pie was very nice.
Amazing service. Nigel is so friendly, laid back and a good all round guy but so professional. Ordered a 40th birthday cake and it was completely indulgent and delicious. Thanks Nigel. Highly recommended.
Pies to Die for. Why can't you open a Mocka's in Melbourne??? The pies are fresh and yummy...croc pie was yummo too!
Awesome pies. The pastry is amazing. You gotta try the crocodile pie.

...enjoyed their version of vanilla and caramel milkshake. Heavenly, delicious and caramelly (is that even a word?). Yes, yes, calories galore but I was on holiday… cut me some slack....
