Great cocktails, spectacular views and great for watching the sunset. Food quite nice. One night had the seafood platter for two, was ok. Didn’t look as great as the image on counter but was very fresh and tasty. Next night has bucket of prawns which was lovely and fresh.
Very busy place with great views of the water from almost all the outside tables. We had the seafood platter and a Caesar salad. Both were incredible tasty and sufficient for the two of us. We ordered at the bar and food arrived promptly. Also love that they are environmentally friendly- not serving drinks with straws. The menu was large and catered to most tastes. Prices for meals were reasonable. Will def be back on our next visit to PD.
Surprised. This a is a club and you order at counter. Good menu and food was delivered quickly despite being busy. 5 of us dining and all meals were great. To top it off great settings g on the river
Tin Shed has reasonable selection of food. Heaps of seafood options. Great views - lovely place to sit and have a sunset beer. Unfortunately gets stinkin’ hot. Sometimes the fans just don’t cut it.
Fast and easy casual dining, very fast service, easily accessible with a pram, and plenty of parking making ideal for a quick lunch! Fish of the day was amazing, and lovely outlook over the water.
The views here are fantastic.
Best spot for an afternoon session!
The menu has fairly standard pub/RSL food on it. something for everyone. Not fancy but good all the same.
Its our go to place in Port Douglas.
Don’t let the negative reviews against this great little pub/bistro sway you from eating here... We’ve dined here twice now 12 months apart and the food on both occasions has been excellent. My partner on this occasion had ordered the Salt and Pepper Squid (forgot to take a pic) and I had ordered the Fish Curry served with Coconut rice, when I took my first fork full the flavour combination was sensational and left me wanting more. My parters calamari was perfectly cooked and flavour balanced with a coleslaw type salad, it was excellent. The prices are great compared to other restaurants in the area and I’m sure we’ll dine here a couple of more times whilst in PD, do yourself a favour and check it out.
We went here for dinner while on holiday in Port Douglas. Initially I was disappointed the the menu was so small & majority seafood based (as we in a large group with a few fussy eaters) BUT what we ate was GREAT!! The Parma was so cheesy & the sauce was full of flavour, real chicken & decent sizes! Seafood basket... AMAZING... Cannot fault it! Quality food which I guess you would expect from a restraint situated by the beach!
Lovely venue, nice large deck over looking the water and good pub menu. Food was brought out quickly and efficiently and was decent. The staff weren't overly friendly or helpful though.
Great sunset and seafood options. Croc, prawn and barramundi spring rolls are great as is the calamari salad. Kid friendly and a good spot for family dinner
Great value for money. Our family of 5 ate here and everyone enjoyed their meal. Generous serves and lovely setting by the water. Especially likes the calamari with noodles and Asian salad and the pork ribs. Teenagers happy with their Parma.
The prawn "buckets" are a must. A container of 15, very fresh, unshelled king prawns. Beautiful location and view. Menu is a bit limited, however wine is a reasonable price and it is certainly very kid friendly. Only piece of advice is to get there early (4.30pm) for a table as it gets very busy. Kitchen opens at 5.30pm.
We arrived for dinner, unreserved, and were told there'd be a 30 minute wait but we could head up to the bar for cocktails. The menu looked great so we were happy to wait. Impressed by the beer selections - a well stocked fridge from all over Oz. Cocktails were poured and minutes later we were called down to dine so didn't have to wait long at all. The cocktails were delicious. Location of the Tin Shed is beautiful, on the water front. The food arrived quickly and was delicious, a big portion I wasn't quite able to finish. Well priced for what you get. The staff were friendly and efficient. I can recommend Tin Shed!
Club environment great location great views of Port Douglas food was served quickly very good quality and service would recommend a visit if your in town
Pretty standard rsl style food here. Great area upstairs for a cocktail or beers overlooking the marina, would be awesome at sunset! Good sized dining area downstairs, would def recommend booking if your dining party is larger than a couple, we managed to sneak a table for two. Well run establishment. Views are spot on.
I remember Tin Shed to be something rather different! Having visited the venue ten years ago, I recalled the deck and the amazing view but everything else has changed tremendously. The nosy me started shooting the poor waitress a series of questions on the history of the place. The name indeed has changed from the Boating Club to Tin Shed some years ago. Upon our arrival, the place was a bit messy as half the floor was under renovation (the newly refurbished Tin Shed will be introduced in two weeks time, yay!). We picked the deck, as it was the only place where we could sit at during the renovation stage. The crowd was a combination of locals and tourists, the atmosphere was just as friendly and cosy as I remembered it to be.
A party of two, we decided to order the fisherman’s basket (pictured), vegetable curry (literally the only vegetarian main on the menu), and rocket salad with walnut, fetta, and pear. At $25, the fisherman’s basket contained an abundance of seafood with the company of chips, lemon wedges, tomato sauce, and tartare. Everything in there was yumm and fresh, I highly recommend it. The curry was decent, generously served with pieces of naan. The salad was a great side dish to cut through all the oil coming from my deep fried everything basket (it made me feel better, okay). I highly recommend Tin Shed when you’re in Port Douglas. Not only you’re supporting a non-profit local club, the restaurant also offers good food, cheap drinks, and excellent view across the inlet! What more do you want?
Fantastic food at a decent price. To add the icing on the cake it has a great view. Has meals catered to every member of the family
Great Views and Food. Situated on the water at the marina side of the town, this is a great place for lunch or dinner. The food is consistent, good and not over-priced. Or if you're not in the mood for food, a frozen cocktail on the verandah overlooking the water is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
Great location and ideal restaurant for families. 9 of us and we all enjoyed our meals. Very crowded so well worth booking.
Great atmosphere and price . Quality pub food . Salt and
Pepper squid a stand out but rare sirloin was perfectly cooked !
In typical RSL club style, drinks and food are ordered at the bar. Food was tasty, perfectly cooked and very well priced. I had the pork belly, others had grilled barramundi and calamari - all cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend. We will be back!
Great food, service & location, definitely worth a visit, two or three! Thanks Mal.
Had a great experience here. My fiancé and I both had the barramundi and it was delicious! Recommend giving it a shot - simple, tasty food with friendly staff
Great food made at speed by very good chefs and organized staff. Fantastic value and great food. The view at sunset is to die for. Great range of tap beers. Freshly baked bread for $1 is a bonus.
Enjoyable. Sit back with your glass of wine from the bar and enjoy the view. The food here is fresh, can't go passed the basic fish and chips. No fuss, freshly grilled fish with lemon and tartare. It is relaxed bistro style dinning so leave your stilettos at e hotel. Is a nice change of pace in an often pricey dinning town.
Arrive early if you are wanting a water table at sunset.
Great lunch here today. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Caesar salad with prawns was absolutely delicious. Plenty of bacon, croutons and lovely white anchovies. The prawns were plump and fresh. I enjoyed the ginger beer on tap. Definitely would go back to this beaut restaurant with the lovely sea view.
We went to the Tin Shed as walk-ins and we were given a buzzer pad and went up stairs to get a drink. The process was very smooth and we didn’t wait long before we were called to our table. The food was well cooked and served promptly.
Lovely food overlooking the mountains and waterways of Port Douglas. Very relaxing watching boats come and go, birds flying and fish jumping.
It can be a bit warm as it's open air but there are fans to keep the air moving.
Nice restaurant with a view of the ocean and mangroves. Friendly staff. Food with reasonable price. Give it a try!
Had a lovely lunch, great service, great food, with a million $ view. We had the seafood platter for 2..Amazing. Highly recommend, will be back.
Lovely marina-side restaurant with great fresh seafood & drinks! I had the corned beef which was delicious. Staff were all very friendly. Nice casual atmosphere.
Popped into the Tin Shed with no booking.....no worries! Was given a buzzer and went up stairs to get a drink. Yummy Cocktail within minutes of ordering. The process was seamless, didn’t have to wait the 30min we were told...we were called to our table within 15mins....winning! The food was well cooked and served promptly. The service was 10 out of 10.
Good food and atmosphere with stunning deck area views across the bay and back towards the marina well worth a visit. Due to it's popularity can be hard to get in for a meal sometimes.
