Yummy food. Portion sizes were a bit small. And definitely should be a loaf of bread, not three slices for $9 that’s literally a profit of $8.90. The desserts were delicious but is described as something very different than what came. Other than that, it was great!
Nice setting and friendly service. Food was really tasty, Poe belly entree really nice and big serving, kingfish needed a bit more flavor. Lamb shank special was delicious!!
Took awhile to be seated as the waitresses were run off their feet. Drink order was wrong twice but was rectified promptly. Our waitress was amazing and very efficient. The food was faultless. So fresh, tasty and creative. The set up of the restaurant was beautiful with the cane chairs but they were very awkward and hard to push in and out. Food took awhile to come out but was worth the wait. Lovely little bar area with ample seating. Despite the small negatives, I’d highly recommend this restaurant.
Melaleuca was my favourite restaurant whilst in Port Douglas for a week. They managed to squeeze me in for lunch despite the anticipation for a full house. Service was flawless and the Welsh lass was kind and attentive and had only been there a couple of days. The food was next level and the entree pork belly came with four huge chunks of goodness. The seafood pasta overflowed with prawns, cockles, fish and squid. Loved it
Very nice ambience. Comfortable waiting area with served drinks was nice. The variety of wine and menu is adequate and have all been great! The spacing of when food arrived was perfect. The crispy shrimp and beef tatake was my favourite. I can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu especially the beef cheek. The owner Nahmee is very friendly and so is everyone but we really enjoyed how V shared with us her knowledge of the wine pairings and enticing us to come back to try their lunch menu.
What a fabulous restaurant. The food was outstanding and the staff provided very attentive service. We had Tempura Bug Tails & Malaysian Butter Prawns for Entree and followed that up with the Bangalow Pork Belly & 12 Hour Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks. The flavours throughout were amazing and well worth the price paid. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Port Douglas. However, bookings are essential, as this venue is extremely popular.
Love love loved Melaleuca. Would love to try everything on the menu as every item we saw come out of the kitchen looks amazing. We had the whole barramundi and pigs ears and crispy shrimp as a starter. The fruits of the tropics dessert was fabulous. All the food was amazingly balanced. The venue is gorgeous and the staff lovely.
Had a fantastic meal here, food is so fresh and vibrant - could eat on looks alone.
It's modern Aus, with the requisite Asian influences along with great seafood - as you'd hope in Port Douglas.
What can I say, this is the most outduanding meal I have had in Port Douglas. From the butter prawns and king fish through to the babe barramundi and the bugs, this was without question a foodies' dream.
Great staff, great service and best meal in Port Douglas.
Nice ambience and food. We did have an initial issue with our mains being missed by the waiter on their order list however, we were very impressed with the lady who I believe maybe the owner coming up to us to apologise and having our mains cook as priority. We understand mistakes happen so we were ok and then she offered to provide us with a couple of complimentary drinks which was very thoughtful. She handled the situation very professionally and we were impressed. Food was amazing and the bread and butter combo was a must! Thanks
