Wow! It has been awhile since I had a breakfast like that! I had the bubble and squeak and it was a very modern take on something my grandparents made me. The ingredients were very fresh and full of flavour, and the Parmesan, nut/seed crumb and mint just added to the overall taste and texture. My husband and daughter had the scrambled eggs which they loved. The servings were generous so it was well worth the slightly pricey cost - you get what you pay for.
Glad to see Bank St & Co finally on Zomato - it is the best 'cafe' in Port Fairy and one of the best in Victoria. With its emphasis on fresh produce and interesting menu items that appeal for breakfast, brunch or lunch... (It also serves the best coffee in town). And importantly, they're consistent - have been several times over the last few months and each time the food is superb (service can be a little hit and miss though - especially when very busy).
Dukkha spiced butternut pumpkin with poached eggs, sautéed greens and Persian feta ($18) for brunch will keep you going all day - as will smashed avo on toast with poached eggs, cumin spiced sweet potato, Persian feta & almond dukkha ($18.50). But it's not all vegetarian - and the more obvious breakfast items (smoked salmon, bacon) are available as are the more lunch-orientated food (burgers, gnocchi etc). But Bank & Co do not simply serve up a burger or a plate of gnocchi - expect the unusual and enjoy. Homemade cakes and pastries are also available.
On street seating, inside or the back (walled) courtyard are the options for the best daytime dining (by a very long way) in Port Fairy.
Wow, What a restaurant! Enjoyed our family meal (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes). I was simply blown by my 'Smoked Tasmanian Salmon with crispy chat potatoes, poached eggs, beetroot relish and kewpie mayo'. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Port Fairy.
I was quite skeptical to eat here of the beginning, but yay man, food is more than delicious... all ingredients were so well combined, congratulations to the Chef. The first look of the Café doesn't take me on, but we had been offered to enjoy the courtyard and surprised me on. I over heard a conversation from a small kitchen window that the Chef asked a waitress couple of times if the order was taken properly(not ours of course), so that built-up more trust on me to order food. Our bad was that we didn't go with the specials, but we will get back soon to try it. Thanks again to the lovely staff that shows an unforgettable foody experience at Port Fairy for first time there.
Amazing food. Great flavours, well priced and despite how busy it was the food still came out within a very reasonable timeframe. Staff were also helpful and friendly. Will be coming back due to great experience.
I frequent Bank St + Co whenever passing through Port Fairy and am never disappointed. The food is always full of flavor and amazing, the coffee is fantastic, the menu offers plenty of great options and the service is always great.
Even managing the check ins, the vax checks, the address checks…(work no cafe should ever have to do), they are getting it done efficiently and effectively without making it feel obtrusive at all.
It is always a pleasure to call past and enjoy some fine food in their wonderful courtyard.
Great food, great service and good vibes 😎 that pretty much sums up this place. We were playing tourist in Port Fairy over the weekend and decided to have lunch here and we weren’t disappointed. I ordered the chicken burger, it was fresh and tasted amazing and came with proper chips on the side. The dressing on the burger was delicious. My partner originally wanted the flake burger but they had run out and the lovely lady at the cashier recommended the seafood pasta. It was delicious and they balanced the garlic, white wine and chilli so you could really enjoy each of the flavors and it wasn’t overpowering so you could also taste the seafood as well. We were really surprised at how quickly our food came out as they were super busy. Thanks for a great meal! We will be back.
Terrific little café buzzing with people and positive vibe. Fantastic coffee, great kitchen and a good selection of sweets and ‘on the go’ brekky options. Coffee absolutely hit the spot and breakfast was soul filling. We were passing through the town, so happy to have stopped here and to experience the local spot
Nice cosy cafe on the outer edge of the main strip in Port Fairy. Back dining room served as the restaurant for lunch service. Coffee was tasty, milk a little more foamy than silky. Fruit scone was delicious served with plenty of butter.
Really cozy and friendly place to eat out. Service was great and food was delicious. If you’re a sweet tooth, the banana bread is a must try. Super fluffy and moist so good! The dukkah roast pumpkin was also very tasty. Highly recommend this place, especially since we were recommended by friends!!!
