Review Madagalli On Bank - Port Fairy

Adam Gossett
Port Fairy is a beautiful town, but all the restaurants close their kitchens at 22:00. We arrived at 21:40 and the owner was kind enough to sell us two pizzas to take away after two restaurants had already sent us away. They were delicious and we would recommend this pizza to any traveler in search of great food.

Walked in and instantly noticed the dead atmopshere, But gave the benefit of the doubt and continued to be seated. Waited just under 10 mintutes to have our order taken and the waitress was rude and didn’t listen. Water was tap water which would be fine but tasted foul. Other costumers were still waiting for food and they arrived much earlier than us. After waiting over 25mins for our order we got up and left, no apology from staff. I guess that’s just what happens when you run a mess of a restaurant with 2 staff.

Absolute worse place I have ever eaten at. Ordered pasta bolognese for my son & it tasted like it came out of a can & the pizza tasted like it just came out of a box from the freezer section. And to top it off, they forgot my husbands pizza, after waiting an hour. A complete let down & cant believe it is still open. Read the reviews before wasting your money!!

40 minutes wait for take-away 👎 but there were a lot of people in town. Shepherds pizza in the gourmet listing was very enjoyable. It featured mince beef, soft plain scalloped potatoes sprinkled with mozzarella cheese. Shepherds pizza was free of onion, garlic and chilli... a plus for us...and you?

Poor Customer Service. Four meals ordered .... two meals served and eaten 30 mins before the second two meals served. Waitress flustered, pizza chef short tempered. Reason for delay given the Boss has walked out. The "Boss" has left staff to face the diners dissatisfaction...... Not a good place to work or eat!

Extremely poor service.... after waiting for Meal’s for 30 minutes, which is ok, but the cutlery and serviettes had to be asked for. Three meals were forgotten! After the first drinks were ordered we had to chase the waiter to order more drinks and then they were taken to the wrong table. Now the food, I am not sure what the chef thinks a Greek salad is but I am sure more tomatoes and cucumber is required, I feel like I ate a whole lettuce?

The prices advertised out on the front of the store were quite reasonable leading us to walk into the restaurant as you would. After a bit of a wait as no one was serving at the front counter we were led out the back and handed our new MORE EXPENSIVE menu. The tables were quite crowded and the atmosphere had an uncomfortable feeling about it. Knowing this was probably a set up and most wouldn't, we decided it would be best for us to leave before paying for an unenjoyable experience.

Inviting smells and open door invites is in off the street. We were then rudely asked to leave and and return in ten minutes when they were "actually" open. Okay you could of seated us and let us look at a menu. Instead will just go elsewhere.
