Companions Bakery I'm sorry to say but it is one off the most unsanitary places I have seen. The back off house looks like it has never been cleaned with mould, dirty & waste scattered through the area the floor is covered with oil there are no cleaning products even the hand basin & dish washing area is not clean. Entering into the cool room you were unable to move with cakes, pies, and raw products uncovered raw meat stored above the salads and no dates on anything that needed dates and the floor was covered in rubbish. I was also informed that some off the products can be left in the display windows to purchase upto and over a week @ a time & staff also have no knowledge off when products are cooked and baked as there are also no used by dates. The salads also look like they have been thrown together and taste like they are days old. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYBODY PURCHASES ANY PRODUCT FROM COMPANIONS OR HIS OTHER SHOPS RYAN'S BAKERY & RIDGY DIDGE THE ONLY ONLY THING THEY ARE ALL CONSTISTANT IN IS THE FILTHY & UNSANITARY BAKING AREAS. It is only a matter off time until someone gets sick or council shut them down as they are not meeting food health and safety a standards . Staff & distributors are also not paid correctly some are not paid at all. These are usually young vulnerable teenage girls who are underpaid to the award wage & also rely on the weekly wage to live independently within the community and pay there bills. Unfortunately I do not have any photos, but if your thinking if being a customer ask to see the kitchen area, any chef that takes pride and runs a clean & tidy kitchen would be happy to give you a tour under the right guidelines

I ordered a coffee and sausage roll this morning and was very disappointed with my purchase. The coffee was missing the one and only sugar I asked for and the plain sausage roll was PLAIN. I think some flavour ingredients were definately missing. I'm not one to waste food, but definately not edible.

Not pleasant. Pasta in pesto salad undercooked and overall not tasty. Quiche dry and pastry like rubber.

My sister and I each got a pie here yesterday. Mine was a honey, soy beef pie which was so try it had the texture of tarmac. It had one scabby piece of beef. My sisters was a curry chicken which fell apart after one bite cos it was so runny. The sausage rolls we also purchased werent much better. Took photos.

A complete fit-out makeover has elevated this fabulous bakery so now the decor matches the quality of the products they sell. Companion Bakery are probably best known for their amazing salads (dine in or take-away) along with what could be the regions best sourdough breads (a match made in heaven). Lunch kicks of around 11am and you can choose from around a dozen different salads made fresh on the premises. They also have great coffee, cakes and slices although to be fair, I was too busy with the salad and sourdough to try anything else. Seating is a mix of modern cafe meets eclectic and they have a 500 year old church pew which is very comfy. Highly recommended!

For three years now I have bought my daughters birthday cake from Horton Street Freshbake. Each year the cake is delicious, great value and decorated to the theme of her party in such amazing detail. This year they outdid themselves with one of the most beautiful (and tall) 6 layer rainbow cakes I have ever seen, the cake was so yummy that most of the Kids came back for seconds and we didn't have a single piece left at the end of the party!

Love this bakery! Sometimes when I've had a flat out day and don't want to fuss too much with cooking dinner that night I grab a few salads from their delicious salad bar range at lunch time. All I have to do is BBQ some meat. The whole family loves the salad range. Highly recommend!
