Review Quay Lime - Port Macquarie

Lovely restaurant with delicious menu options and the friendliest staff. Add to this the scenic location overlooking the marina and it all makes for a great dining experience.

This is a gem. While the decor is average there is a lovely view of the Hastings River and the marina. The highlight is the food - delicious. Far better than some more upmarket restaurants but not the prices to much. The prices at Quay Lime are cheap for the quality of the food. The staff are a delight. Should not be missed.

Go for the lunch time deals. Good selection and you walk away with a satisfying lunch at a decent price. Quay Lime always impresses us. The service is friendly and the meals are well prepared. We have entertained here, put on PC Pitstop staff Christmas parties here and met many clients for business meetings. Sit inside or out and enjoy views overlooking the marina in beautiful Port Macquarie.

First off I’d like to say the waiters are friendly and attentive but then all other service goes out of the window. 2 our of 3 meals were unbelievably bad. The pizza was like eating cheese and tomatoes on bread with oregano suffocating whatever toppings were on it. The lamb ragoo was tasteless and watery. The vegetables on one of the dishes were pretty much raw. We sent one of the dishes back as it was inedible and asked for it to be taken off of the bill in which the waiter was very apologetic. Until she came back and said the chef said there is nothing wrong with the dish and was not willing to take it off the bill. My friend was very upset and we had all tasted it and agreed there was zero taste and something not right with it. The manager came over and said she had tasted it and that’s just how it has always been. My friend asked if she tasted it and if so what did it taste like and she said she did and it tasted like a lamb stew .... well it’s not a lamb stew it’s a lamb ragoo. They were not accommodating at all the feedback obviously damaged the chefs ego and seemed to want to put up a fight. If 3 customers agree that something is not right with the dish then maybe you should listen to them. After speaking with a waiter and the ‘manager’ they both said the chef was unwilling to take it off of the bill. They asked if we wanted anything else ... this would have been at an extra charge and from the standard of food we had already received we were definitely not prepared to pay for anymore. It really just left us all in disbelief and ruined our experience. Even if they had discounted the meal to attempt to make things better but there was nothing. Would never return there again, very poor quality food and unprofessional management.

We came across this by accident staying at the Rydges next door. The coffee came out a little hot, but was delicious once it cooled a little. The bacon and eggs were fantastic and not expensive (about $11) for a good dose of bacon. Sitting in the winter sun by the window was wonderful and I felt nice and toasty by the end. Staff are friendly and attentive. Over all a pleasant morning.

Dined at Quaylime after receiving a recommendation from a friend. Lovely restaurant with sensational food and service to match. A great night enjoyed by all. 10/10 dinning experience!!!

Received a cold meal and the steak was under cooked for what I ordered. The staff didn't seem to care.

Not Very Good. Cheap pub style metal tables and cheap paper serviets. Inexperienced wait staff who spilt drinks down the back of one of us. The food was quite nice but for mains between $30 and $38 I would expect much more.

We arrived at 730 and by 800 pm the chicken had run out. Only 1 vegetarian option a very over salted gnocchi. One of our steaks was delivered rare when we clearly ordered medium. Sat waiting for a replacement and had to prompt staff as to where it was.

In defence we received a free desert for this oversite.

Certainly wouldn't rush back at this price point there are much better options in port Macquarie.

Ordinary. Dined there last Saturday. Very dissappointed. My wife had fun searching for lobster in the Lobster and prawn salad, but couldn't find any. Salad is relatively easy to make so, perhaps Quay Lime could try adding seafood to their's as the menu suggests. Overall, try somewhere else.
