Review The Boyz - Portarlington

We had previously hamburgers and chips or souvlaki and chips and highly recommend them, however today experience we had flake and chips, the fish was hard as boot leather and the batter stuck to the wrapping paper, the chips were small. Overall, the fish and chips were not drained properly and was very greasy. We will not be having this again.

We ate here for the first time during the long weekend and won't be returning. Very yellow chips (?) were soggy and had very little flavour (like the oil was old). The calamari rings were too greasy and the ring was not fresh. The chicken was dry and overall the meal was too expensive for fish and chips and poor quality. Will try the mussels or chinese next instead.

Absolutely DISGUSTED ordered 2xFlake 2xDim Sims 2x CrabSticks 2x scallops minimum chips with chicken salt. Was soggy as. No chicken salt on chips Crab sticks stuck to fish, batter just peeled off flake. Disgusting $37 for the worst fish and chips I have ever had

Ordered fish, Tasmania scollops, calamari and chips. Fish and calamari where fresh. Unfortunally scollops over cooked. Fish stucked to grease paper. All food was greasy. Not enjoyable. It ended up in the bin.

On Saturday evening the Calamari rings, chips and fish were fresh and tasty so waiting 45 minutes wasn't an issue. We decided to try them again on Sunday night but was not nice at all. The hamburger patty tasted like sausage mince and the burger with the lot had no egg, no onions...just lettuce, tomato and cheese. Husbands Chen souvlaki was bland and tasteless and the children's chips were not fresh at all. Maybe they ran out of ingredients from the busy night before but tonight's experience was awful.

Food was good. Service abit slow. Staff were polite, shop was generally clean and fridge well stocked with drinks. Give this place a go. Owner was a lovely man

First time trying the food there and safe to say it will be the last, food was disgusting! undercooked fish bites, the spring roll was like eating hot oil, homemade potato cakes was very questionable and for the chips try hotter oil to actually cook them. Overall the service was poor and the food was horrible.

I had a good experience, it was busy due to Good Friday, which is to be expected. However there where some Karen's there that did not feel the same way 😕 😑 🙃
