Review Fourth Chapter - Prahran

Vanessa Wingert
My experience at Fourth Chapter Café was great! Cute decor and I loved the backyard, with a little fountain, green roof and really friendly staff. The coffee is great and the Fried Chicken Bao was unbelievable tasty and - huge - good portion! Go for it!!

Such delicious food and really friendly service. Would definitely come again. The only complaint I have is that the bathroom was a bit grotty with lots of spiders in the corners. They also watered down the hand soap, never understand why successful places do that!

A great local cafe. Delicious coffee and golden lattes. The food is amazing and always so well presented. Staff are attentive and friendly. My go to is always the smashed avocado with haloumi. Highly recommended.

I always enjoy my breakfast at Fourth Chapter. The warm crumble was perfect in this cold weather. And can’t go without ordering the best fried chicken Baos 👌🏼

Went to this cafe last weekend, I've had egg and bacon brioche. Their was alright, but their brioche took all rating stars. Definitely try it once.

This WAS my regular, loved chatting to staff, they have good coffee and food. What I will never leave unchallenged is power abuse and harassment. I witnessed the owner doing just that, to one of his female staff and then chasing her out at which point my partner and I stepped in to ward him off. I implore everyone to boycott this place, as I will. Spread the word. If anyone has experience dealing with these situations please leave a comment on what can be done.

Friendly service, good coffee and delicious food.

What an awesome cafe where staff are attentive and food is good. Had a business meeting here during the week at a non peak hour so it wasn’t noisy. Great coffee and all the dishes we ordered were delicious! Highly recommend the sweet potato chips with mayo. Has a pretty outdoor area at the back and also outdoor seating in the front for your pooch! Great location as there is also a park nearby! Off street parking and tram stop right in the front for convenience! Will definitely be back!

I used to love the place, however after they have hiked the prices up. I can not justify coming anymore.

Insta: melbfoodie_mark
YT: MelbFoodieMark
** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne!
-
Beautiful cafe! Loved its snow white front door. Just like any other great Melbourne cafes, coffee was great and sandwiches we ordered were crunchy and tasty. Backyard patio which was surrounded by lively greenery was absolutely beautiful with the perfect amount of sunshine. Worth a visit when you happen to be in Prahran!

Could not fault the food or coffee, however customer service was sub par.
We saw on Facebook/insta that they were taking bookings. However, when we called up they stated no bookings and just walk ins only. So we rocked up and were asked if we had a reservation... strange seeing as we were told otherwise!

I love the ambience here!! we got a table outside and even though it was quite chilly, it was still super friendly, and warming.
We ordered five dishes to share between the four of us. This statics of every dish was five out of 5. The pancakes were soft and spongy, with the right amount of syrup, but the best part was the coconut icecream on top!!!
I ordered the nourish bowl, Which was super filling and had the right amount of each type of vegetable, and delicious falafels!!!
Highly recommend this place, Will definitely be back and try and sit inside instead.

I used to come here ALL the time and it was my FAVOURITE breakfast place!!! The last few times I have visited, I wasn't super impressed with the food. For 3 of us we paid over $90 for 3 dishes and 3 coffees, the food was cold, rock hard bacon and the coffee order was messed up. I feel like they got so popular with great marketing that the food standard dropped, portions have shrunk and the saganaki on the smashed avo was rock hard and there prices have gone up a lot, really sad cause I loved this place!
Cute and cozy interior and staffs were super friendly!

Ordered:
Southern Fried Chicken Bao: Crunchy chicken wrapped in soft fluffy bun. However chicken was very bland

Big Breakky: Sweet potato waffle was good and has a spicy kick to it. Overall, dish was okay.

Hot chocolate was good! I don't mind coming back to try other salad dishes because apparently those are the popular ones, but probably not gonna order those that I've tried

Rude staff, sassy, slow, think they invented the wheel. In reality they can’t poach an egg. Took 20 minutes to get a coffee

Fourth chapter takes booking after covid, so feel free to call up!

Ordered:
🥗 Roast Pumpkin Salad (v, gf, df): sesame kale, roasted almonds, avocado, edamame, miso dressing & vegan mayo ($21.45)
+ 🥚 poached egg ($2.00)
🍟 Sweet potato fries with sirarcha aioli ($9.00)

Review:
Food had a very generous portion. The roast pumpkin salad was filling enough to feed 2 people, I swear!! 🙌
It was delicious. Small and chopped sesame kale with almonds gave texture, health, and 'feel good' vibes in every bite.
However, it didn't take long for it to start tasting..meh.. as the palate got used to the pumpkin, kale and avocado combo. Still a feed that's worthy of attention though.
The chips were snack worthy. Long strands of sweet chips dipped in a creamy sauce made it the perfect entree.

Atmosphere was grand. Large ornate white doors illustrate the entrance of fourth chapter, with incredibly high ceilings inside. Seats are simple, but clean and everything is in an aesthetically pleasing palette.

Fourth Chapter is a bright and airy café in bustling Prahran which boasts a compelling brunch menu that has something to suit everyone.

We recently visited Fourth Chapter for a takeaway brunch which we enjoyed in the comforts of our home.

As expected of any good Melbourne café, coffee is great and poured by adept baristas.

We loved our takeaway brunch. The Southern Fried chicken bao was incredible - Crunchy fried chicken wrapped in pillow soft steamed bao and slathered with decadent aioli.

The pumpkin bowl was another winner. It was a stunning amalgamation of roast pumpkin, sesame kale, roasted almonds, avocado, edamame, miso dressing and vegan mayo.

The best Açaí bowl I’ve had! Definitely would recommend getting it. Sweet potato chips are so yummy as well

If you’re looking for a cafe that creates healthy, filling and insanely delicious food, you NEED to visit fourth chapter!

We were blown away by all their incredible menu options and decided to go for 2 of their signature bowls- açai bowl and a matcha and mango bowl, both of which were full to the brim!

We loved fourth chapter and everyone working their was also so friendly and welcoming. The cafe it’s self is perfect for groups up to 8 I’d say and has an amazing ambience.

The atmosphere was really good and the staff were so lovely, but almost broke my nail trying to cut through the bread, but there was a nice amount of avocado evenly distributed on both slices. The avocado needed more flavour, I had to add a lot of salt, maybe some lemon or goats cheese would improve it :)
Erin (erin_bosanquet_nutritionist)
If you love pumpkin, I highly recommend the Roast Pumpkin Salad. It has sesame kale, roasted almonds, avocado, edamame, miso dressing and vegan mayo. So delicious, so filling.

We also had a side of sweet potato fries - they are some of the best I've had.

If Melbourne was a book, then the Fourth Chapter would most certainly be about cafes…. straight after Coffee, AFL, and the city’s unpredictable weather!

The Fourth Chapter of Prahran epitomises everything worth reading about Melbourne’s café culture.

So much so, every man, woman, and their dogs have been to Fourth Chapter. Especially those ‘grammable’ pooches, that flood my insta feed daily! Walking through that large white front door feels a lot like walking into a friend’s place. Set on a fresh white canvas, an abundance of greenery brings life into the large open area. It echoes the theme of a menu, which is festooned with fresh vibrant dishes targeting the health-conscious consumer.

I personally enjoy this High Street café because of its coffee offering. Single Origin beans are sourced from Maker Fine, and their Honey Processed Costa Rican was both sweet and juicy, with hints of orange and plum.
Food wise, the all-day breakfast menu has a selection of sweet options like Raspberry and Coconut Pancakes, and the Mango Matcha Bowl. Vegan and gluten free savoury options like my favourite, the Green Fields with pickles enoki mushrooms, lemon tahini & Chermoula dressing.

Such a nice cafe! The back court yard was perfect for a nice summers day. It is quiet and the water feature is really nice addition. The staff are very friendly! The chicken bao is absolutely delicious. The crunchy coating of the chicken contrasted with the soft fluffy bao was incredible. The aioli had a nice spice to it. The nourish bowl was full of delicious flavours and wholesome foods. The cauliflower falafels were delicious and the tzatziki was so fresh and complimented the elements in the dish. The granola was incredible. So much flavour in one dish. The perfect sweet dish! The panna cotta was amazing and worked to well with the crunchy granola. The açai was delicious and refreshing. The coyo balanced the dish nicely! The fresh juices were so nice and a perfect palette cleanser. The chai was amazing, along with the smoothie. Definitely recommend this place for a nice brunch.

Fourth Chapter had been SO highly recommended to me for a while and I am so glad I got around to visiting it. I am however upset that it took me so long to do so!!! A gorgeous cafe in a beautiful area. We opted for the outside area, which had the perfect amount of sunshine and was surrounded by gorgeous greenery. We ordered the Raspberry and Coconut Vegan pancakes, Nourish bowl, Roast Pumpkin Salad and a Peanut Butter Cup smoothie. I also had a Chai latte.

Firstly, let me emphasise that the delicious, fluffy and sweet pancakes that arrived at my table are also completely vegan!!! The flavours were absolutely made for each other and they are cooked to absolute perfection. The Nourish Bowl & Roast Pumpkin Salad were the perfect dishes for someone who loves some greens and veggies for breakfast. The serving sizes were huge and they were full of flavour. Lastly, both of the drinks I had were great. The Chai was delicious but OH MY the smoothie!!! I am a huge peanut butter fan but I find some cafes do it too bitter or too sweet. Well they got it just right here!

The staff were amazing. Incredibly attentive and friendly.

Thank you!

A really stunning cafe in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs. Right next door to Victoria Gardens, this cafe is in a prime spot! There is ample parking available too :) We sat outside in their back courtyard which was lovely and quiet, and staff were consistent with their lovely service. Coffees came out quickly and tasted delicious, and food didn't take long either. We ordered the Raspberry and Coconut Vegan pancakes, Nourish bowl and Roast Pumpkin Salad, as well as a Peanut Butter Cup smoothie to share! Everything looked and tasted absolutely incredible. The flavours were great, and the dishes were was huge in portion sizing. Really loved my visit here and can't wait to come back again!

I ate at Fourth Chapter on a sunny Saturday morning with two friends. Despite Saturday being an understandably busy period for cafes, the staff were so attentive and we didn’t wait very long for food either.
Atmosphere: I love the big grey door at Fourth, it sets the tone for the whole café and is very welcoming. We sat in the lovely outdoor area which feels like a garden oasis in the hustle and bustle of Prahran.
Food: I had the roast pumpkin salad with sesame kale, almonds, avocado, edamame, miso dressing and a poached egg. A highlight for me was the pumpkin to salad ratio, there was a great serving of pumpkin that nicely matched with the fragrant salad. My friends ate the nourish bowl and vegan raspberry and coconut pancakes which were both hits too. We also tucked into a chocolate peanut butter smoothie too which was delightful. It tasted like choc banana nice cream 🍌
Service: Wonderful service, the staff were so attentive despite being very busy.
One of my Melbourne favourites ❤️

we chose to go to this restaurant on our family day off, we drove all the way from the north side to visit this cafe as an experiment to try out the food.

We ordered:

•The eggs on toast

Was fine as this was for our 11yr old son, he also got a delicious muffin from the stand, which was soft and not too sweet, he picked the apple and berry crumble muffin.

The big breakfast

Was old fashioned, halloumi was cooked as it should be, sweet potato waffle was a nice accompaniment, fried bacon and scambled egg

• Smashed avo

Was the least to be desired, although we have to say the manager handled our issue very well. the poached egg was overcooked, the halloumi cheese was hard, and the rye bread under the smashed avo was probably old or over toasted, like a rock.

service was great, if it wasnt for the front of house team save we would have left disappointed with our first visit to fourth chapter.
I think the best thing about Fourth Chapter is the friendly staff that you can actually have a good conversation with! It's honestly one of the most friendly service I've come across in Melbourne.

I've been here for coffee multiple times (and it's great) but only recently dined in. I ordered the Sweet Potato & Ricotta Waffles as they seemed to be one of the most popular dishes at Fourth Chapter. And they didn't disappoint! I'd never tried sweet potato waffles before. The texture was so good, they were soft and light on the inside and golden and crunchy on the outside. That combined with the poached eggs made for a meal that left me full for hours!

My friend had the Raspberry Granola which she spoke of highly. The panna cotta had the perfect wobble and was served with fresh fruit also.

Would definitely recommend a visit here - it's my new favourite brunch spot in Prahran for sure.

Very bad experience!!!! We ordered magic, while they brought a cup of coffee with super thick milk. And the brunch with mushroom is horrible. The mushroom is super NOT FRESH. It tastes wired and fishy. While their attitude was even worse, We told them the mushroom is not fresh, just to help them improve while they even gossip behind us also made faces. It’s my birthday brunch with friends, it’s a disaster!

I think I’ve found a new favourite. For coffee that is. We are spoilt for choice. Melbournians are just as fussy about their barista as they are about the future parent of their children. The ceilings are high. Vines hang low from large baskets and mums come in and out with prams. It is noisy with a lively crowd, wooden flooring and bare walls. As I watched the trendy young parents around me, I eyed off the smoothies and avo smash in a large servings with saganaki on top. A writer sits outside patiently greeting every single person who walks past and wants to pat and have photos with his adorable young puppy. That is the kind of vibe at Fourth Chapter.

I was in the area doing errands and thought I'd pop into Fourth Chapter cafe for a late lunch.

🔆LOCATION🔆

Fourth Chapter cafe is situated on High Street near the corner of Williams Street next to Victoria Gardens. As it was a nice day, I had a nice stroll after lunch to the Garden.

The cafe itself is not very noticeable as it blends in with the local residential buildings. When you see a big white heritage looking door with large glass window panels on both sides, you know you've arrived at Fourth Chapter.

The cafe is polished floor boards, wooden tables with white chairs. There are green fern type plants overhanging the ceiling. It is a nice relaxing modern cafe. There is a small court yard at the back, which is great to sit when its a nice day.

At the end of the counter, there is a glassed area with display variety of cakes and muffins. They even sell doggie biscuits - cute!

🔆SERVICE🔆

The service here was a bit of a hit and miss. The blonde hair young waitress that took my order was very lovely, but the others were rather cold and service was not friendly.

It was a really nice day, and as it was mid-week, around 1.30pm, there were only about 4 tables occupied inside. However, I wasn't even offered to sit outside. I actually would have liked to sit outside in the cute little court yard area, but never mind.

🔆MENU/PRICE🔆

Raspberry and Coconut Pancakes, $22.50
(with vanilla meringue, raspberries and coconut ice cream)

Red Velvet Latte, $5.50

🔆VERDICT🔆

When I got served the red velvet latte, it looked quite brown and I wasnt sure if it was even my drink. I asked the waitress and she said that it is the drink I ordered. I took a sip and it tasted burnt, as I had never had red velvet latte, I wasnt sure what to expect. I drank some water first and then tried the drink again. The second time I knew for sure that the latte was definitely burnt. I was beyond disbelief how a drink can be made so wrong. I flagged the waitress and told her the issue. And she asked if I wanted another one and I said yes, I cant drink this, its really burnt. She took it back to the barista. There was no apology or anything, even when a different waitress ( female with dark long hair) served the newly made red velvet latte to me, again no apology. This latte looked way better and I new straight away that it was made properly. The waitress with the blonde hair that originally took away the burnt latte walked past and I told her with a smile that this newly made R.V. latte was much better and she said "that's good".

I was very much looking forward to eating my pancakes, it looked soo pretty on the plate. I loved the coconut ice cream which I could tell had been frozen hard so it would maintain its shape whilst on the warm pancake. The coconut flavour in the ice cream had good texture and was delicious. The 3 stacked pancake looked soo big. The first 2 pancakes were very light airy and fluffy which was really good. However I could not eat the 3rd (bottom) pancake has it was quite dense and by that stage there was not enough raspeberry sauce on the plate to even mix with the pancake to even try to finish it. I enjoyed the dried coconut flakes and fresh pieces of raspberries. Inside the pancake there were some bits of raspberries inside which made it more enjoyable to eat. However one of the pancakes didn't have any raspberries. There were some inconsistencies. Overall, it was an okay dish.

I would rate this place an 20/10 if I could! Amazing hospitality & even more incredible food! Buzzing vibes on the weekend - a popular destination in the trendy part of Prahran!

We ordered an array of dishes including;
- Apple Crumble
- Raspberry & Coconut Vegan Pancakes
- Sweet Potato Chips
- Nourish Bowl; Cauliflower falafels, pickled cabbage, pesto chickpeas, golden carrots, heirloom tomatoes, edamame, spinach, brown rice, quinoa & coconut tzatiki

Drinks included;
Cappuccino
Almond Cap
Both beautiful, strong & full bodied

Peanut Butter Cup (omg this was heaven through a straw)
Almond milk, peanut butter, vanilla plant based protein, chia, banana, maple // V / GF / DF

AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST - we finished off our mammoth feast with a glass of Brown Brothers King Valley Prosecco!

I’m already dreaming about my next visit! I can’t wait to taste my way through the rest of their menu 🤤🤤🤤❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to everyone who made our visit so memorable!

We had visited Fourth Chapter for brunch and we had ordered a feast!

We ordered the raspberry granola, raspberry and coconut pancakes, sweet potato and ricotta waffles, nourish bowl, southern fried chicken bao, sweet potato fries and cauliflower fries!

The best part of this was everything was special and distinct in their own way! The raspberry granola had a yummy panna cotta and the granola that went with it was not overly sweet but just right! The raspberry and coconut pancakes were thick and sweet! The waffles were savory but had a nice kick to it! The nourish bowl and southern fried chicken bao were filled with yummy nutrients!

Overall we had a wonderful time at Fourth Chapter and would love to visit again!

Terrible experience. We first arrived and was told 30-40minutes wait, will text us once table is ready. We came back exactly 15mins after receiving the text, and our table was given away to others. Didn’t receive any calls or offered any solutions, was just told that we had to wait from the bottom of the waiting list again. Staff member has quite an attitude.

Fourth Chapter never fails to deliver when it comes to delectable dishes and fast table service.

This cafe is very busy during the weekend, so I would recommend visiting during the week to avoid long queues. There are numerous table seating options. Preferably I like the outside courtyard or the long wooden bench by the front door. They are both great options for foodies who want great natural lighting in their food shots.

The menu range is quite extensive from Mango Matcha Bowl to Southern-Fried Chicken Baos.
A personal favourite dish of mine is the Raspberry & Coconut Pancakes 🥞 W Vanilla Meringue, Raspberries & Coconut Ice Cream (V|DF). The Pancakes themselves are light and fluffy in texture. The coconut and raspberry combination works harmoniously to create a mouth-watering masterpiece.

A special mention also goes to the Sweet Potato Fries W Sriracha Aioli & Lime.

Looking forward to my next visit.

Was seated outside without even asking if we were okay with it, service was a bit inattentive. Their red velvet latte caught my eye but i didnt enjoy it, coffee that day was bad as well. Other than that, their food was beautifully cooked, love their Sweet Potato & Ricotta Waffles. Big Breaky was very nice, one of the best ones we’ve had.

Went there for brunch on sunday, very busy but they sat us down after 2 minutes eventhough they thought the wait would be longer. They took our order very quickly as well and brought us the food quick as well. I was very happy with the dressing and flavours of the green field salad. Exactly what I wanted, good greens , fish and egg! A whole meal. Would go back to try other things on the menu.

I feel like I say this all the time but I’ve made it to another cafe on my list…finally!. They have a very handy tool called ‘Wait Mate’. It’s an app you can use to check the wait time at a handful of cafes and put your name on the list before you arrive. It meant we only had to wait about 5minutes when we arrived and it was great. More cafes really need to get on to this app.
FitFoodieNiki
First time visiting.
The decor was cute and the atmosphere was a vibeeee, very busy and the staff seemed so calm and friendly and attentive. Once we got our table we ordered straight away!
I ordered the sweet potato & ricotta waffles with maple bacon and turmeric hollandaise and oh my god it was delicious!!! The waffles were light and fluffy 🤤
My friend ordered the big breakfast and she loved it! We also got the cauliflower fries to share and oh my god I was not expecting them to be as good as they were!!
I definitely can’t wait to come back here and try another meal.

Fourth Chapter has to be one of my favourite venues in Melbourne. I've visited several times since first moving to the city, and I've always been impressed by the calibre of dishes, the service of staff members and the beautiful interior/exterior of the café. Every visit is an absolute experience.

This time round, myself and a friend tried several dishes: the vegan pancakes, the acai bowl (stunning), pumpkin salad and sweet potato fries (heavenly)! I also tried the PB cup smoothie. It's a rare occasion you visit a café and every single aspect of the meal is a winner. This is the case at Fourth Chapter! There is little to say.. other than try it all!

What you see tastes absolutely as good as it looks! So do yourself a favour and plan a visit to this café! There's a reason it's always brimming with people. It really is one of the best.

Really enjoyed our visit today, the highlight being the Raspberry and Coconut Pancakes! Fluffy and crispy. The way pancakes should be ☺️ They’ve also got really unique options like the Red Velvet Latte! Love the creativity 😍

Was recommended by a friend to try this brunch place out. Staff were very friendly, which automatically gave good vibes. We ordered a sweet and savoury dish to try each and a blood orange mimosa. The pancakes were definitely, well probably, one of the best pancakes I’ve had, to date. They were nice and fluffy, with the slight sourness of raspberries to cut through the sweetness of the coconut ice-cream - the ice-cream which, I surprisingly thoroughly enjoyed, as I tend to stay away from coconuts when it comes to desserts. The savoury dish, which I have forgotten the name of, was your mediocre brunch dish. That, I would say is a minor downside to this place, along with the slightly expensive price point, but I still would come back for sure. Especially knowing that the delicious pancakes were vegan!

Wow! 🌟🌟🌟
Fourth Chapter is located in Prahran on busy High St.
Every time I come to this cafe they are pumping and how could they not with beautiful dishes like these? 👏
We tried:
- Baked Crumble with Apple and Rhubarb
- Nourish Bowl
- Latte
Absolutely stunning courtyard, people and food 😍😍

Such a cute cafe, interior was really gorgeous and staff were lovely. The coffee was delicious, however almond milk was $1.50 and that’s a bit of a stretch. I got the baked crumble which was 10/10; so good as it is dairy free and gluten free. My friend ordered the big breaky and they were very accommodating for switching the avocado out for tomatoes and didn’t charge any extra. Will definitely be returning if I’m in the area.

Very good service. Lovely interiors. Doggie biscuits! Egg and bacon brioche. Nourishing greens. Almond mocha. Latte. The greens (kale, broccoli, avo, edamame, mange tout, sesame seeds, pickled enoki) were lovely but too much edamame. It really needed more variety. It got boring after a bit but luckily the flavors were great.

My friend loved her brioche. Impressed the waiter asked if there was too many edamame; obviously I wasn’t the only one.

Really love the integrity here. I will return.

Gorgeous little cafe - had an indoor and outdoor area. My friend and I sat outside which was a beautiful little courtyard. The staff were excellent - attentive and quick to see if we wanted anymore coffees / order etc.
I ordered the savoury waffle with maple bacon - it was AMAZING! the sweet potato and ricotta waffle was so delicious - topped with maple bacon (which you could smell the moment it entered the area)!!! With egg & hollandaise. Yum!! Definitely recommend and will be back!

EDIT

My friend and I had brunch here over the weekend, it has been some time since my last visit so I was so excited to have the opportunity to come back!

We sat out the back which was a beautiful setting, our waitress very friendly and attentive, she was so very helpful and accommodating. Amazing service here at Fourth Chapter, good job guys.

I love the menu here, some real winners that stood out. I went for the smashed avo with poached eggs. The dish was beautifully presented and was so filling! I loved the addition of the haloumi, everything was just so delicious. My friend ordered the sweet potato waffles with poached eggs and a side of spinach. The dish looked amazing, my friend loved it.

Our coffees were 10/10 - happy days! This cafe was bustling and I can see why, such a charming place. A must visit if you are in the area.

OCT 27th 2017 - Original score 4/5

I had bookmarked Fourth Chapter some time ago and finally I got a chance to try this well reviewed place out. The cafe was very busy and we had to wait for roughly 20 mins or so, this wasn't an issue as we sat by the window and had a coffee until a table was available. The cafe is nice and bright with beautiful greenery, staff were also very pleasant.

The menu here is very good, it was a tough choice. The coffee here was sensational and made with love, I saw the barista work his magic - high 5 buddy you make a very nice coffee. For brunch my partner and I both ordered the southern fried chicken bao, it was really good although dry at the sides where it wasn't covered in any aioli or picked cabbage. This was such a filling dish, my gosh! Haha I had to share the third bao with my partner who didn't complain about having the extra few bites.

Definitely recommend a visit here.

Absolutely wonderful venue! It was very, very packed over the weekend but we were seated quickly, the staff were very nice and prompt despite how busy they were and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time.

The Raspberry Pancakes are an enormous serve and honestly some of the fluffiest hotcakes we've had in Melbourne! The coyo is fantastic too.

The waffles again, were delicious, great texture and the sauce was as tasty as it was colourful!

Red Velvet latte was nice, just needed a bit of extra sugar as it's a little bland on its own. But overall, we loved our brunch and will definitely be back, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu we wanted to try!

Beautiful decor inside this cafe. I’d been wanting to try this place for ages and it did not disappoint. Thanks fourth chapter for such a lovely brunch, our meals tasted as good as they looked 👌🏻

Lunch at Fourth Chapter Melbourne (Last Month) consist of following dishes....

▪ Latest food sensation "ACAI BOWL" which is made with coyo berries ( used as frozen smoothy), coconut wafers, granola, strawberries and peanut butter. Healthy and power packed.

▪Raspberry & coconut pancakes with vanilla meringue, raspberries & coconut ice cream. One of the most fluffy pancakes I've ever seen.

▪Classic double cheese burger in traditional style. Made perfect with age old recipe... no deviation and well made.

▪Sweet Potato Fries... probably for that feel healthy & guilt free after feel

I have mostly experienced that restaurants owned by chefs serve better food and their passion reeks in everything from food to ambiance to service. It's a must visit place. Do opt for outdoor seating if available.

Big front door and friendly welcome. It’s almost like walking into your mates house for a catch up.

It’s a bright cafe, with plants hanging from the ceiling and a cute courtyard out back.

The menu has all your brunch usuals with a few original items. Such as a bowl of sweet potato fries, popcorn cauliflower and their famous hot cakes!

We were offered drinks straight away and given water. That part of service I always very much appreciate.

We ordered the sweet potato fries, nourish bowl and the field greens with a couple of poachies.

The potato fries were great. Sweet and crispy and the siracha mayo it came with was creamy and delicious with a slight kick. Then nourish bowl looked great and full of colour. I had the field of greens. There were a lot of greens which made me very happy, they were tossed in oil and tasted great. The eggs were also poached to perfection.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it was relaxed and the bright surroundings were delightful.

A great cafe 8.5/10

Although I enjoyed Fourth Chapter, I think perhaps all the photos I had seen of its food set my expectations slightly too high. I had the chicken bao, and found it to be super oily and heavy. Perhaps it was my fault for ordering the wrong thing, but my experience wasn’t the best. On the upside, the staff were super accommodating, so I will be back soon to try something else on the menu.
The Brunchabout Diaries
Fourth Chapter is one of the best modern brunch spots in Prahran. It’s on the pricier side but the food is absolutely delicious. I got the Southern Fried Chicken Bao with pickled cabbage, Sriracha aioli, chilli and lime cashews. It was sublime. The meal was really well thought out - crunchy juicy chicken, a nutty texture and a bit of spice.

Awesome little place that lives up to the hype! I like the waiting system where you can wonder off and get a text when your table is ready. Parking is difficult though because of the location depending on when you go. Food is great and coffee is too - I liked the variety especially.
My ONLY suggestion is some more fruit in the açaí bowl as it’s mostly coconut, peanut butter and yoghurt. Some banana or extra berries would make it that much better.
Staff are really friendly.

I did like this place, but its popularity is kind of off-putting. Everything seemed chaotic, there were people everywhere and it was a little hard to relax. Service-wise, they did an excellent job given how under the pump they were. The food was great. I had scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and, even though I thought I'd never say this in my lifetime, it must be noted that there is such a thing as too much bacon. I couldn't get through it all, and my scrambled eggs (delicious though they were) were quite heavy too. Coffee is on the steep side at $4.20. A cute place to check out with delicious food, but I'd definitely not queue (as a lot of people were) to dine here.

In a world of its own

This little yet popular cafe sits on High street on its own. A beautiful shop front and inside decor to match.

I’ve been wanting to visit here for a while, so today I did. Not very busy when I sat down early on a Sunday, but boy was it busy by the time I left.

I ordered the potato waffles and it was great. To be honest, it was a little heavy with quite a big serve as well. However, the eggs were cooked perfect and the flavours were delicious! The coffee was great also.

The staff are lovely and inviting, even when they’re run off their feet.

Glad I was able to get a seat and try it out for myself.

Thanks for breakfast!

Beautiful cafe. Super busy. Annoyingly don’t split the bills on weekends 🙄 (it wasn’t busy when we were paying).
Staff were attentive. I had the fried chicken boa and they were delicious! Super soft and the mayo was perfect. Also had the sweet potato fries which were some of the best I have ever had!
Dine And Dash
Fourth Chapter is a buzzing café located at 385 High Street, Prahran. We were very excited to visit this joint as we’ve heard so much about it!

Walking in, we were greeted by a few staff and we were shown to our table. We also met the owner who was very nice to us and was extremely accommodating. We ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Bao, Smash Avocado with salmon, Sweet Potato Fries and Cauliflower Fries. For drinks, we had an orange juice, a latte and the Panther smoothie.

The food was absolutely sensational. The Chicken Baos were extremely flavoursome, I really enjoyed the sriracha aioli - it definitely gave the dish an extra kick! The chicken was cooked very well and it was a plentiful serving. The Smashed Avo was incredible! There was such a generous serving of avocado which we really appreciated. The salmon was also very nice. Overall two amazing dishes!

The sweet potato chips and the cauliflower chips were awesome - very crunchy and full of flavour. The coffee was just the way I like it - nothing to complain and the orange juice and smoothie were delectable! Very refreshing and a great accompaniment to our meals.

Overall, Fourth Chapter has surpassed our expectations and I can safely say that this place is definitely one of my favourite cafés in Melbourne! Hands down!

The customer service was exceptional and the ambience was warm and inviting.

We cannot wait to return!

I love those places where the food menu isn’t too fancy, but they pay respect to the ingredients and make the natural taste of simple ingredients the highlight of their food. Fourth chapter is such a place! We ordered the simple cheese burger and big breakfast and their food was simple yet satisfying! The only drawback is the difficulty in finding a parking and that the place is extremely busy so it’s noisy. But worth coming back for the food.
The World Loves Melbourne
Fourth Chapter is a stylish popular cafe on High St Prahran that greatly impresses. Staff are super friendly and an all day menu has something for everyone. Sitting at the window I ordered a beer, then ordered a top notch Double cheeseburger with American cheese, housemade ketchup, smoked mozzeralla, mayo & pickles. Being a cheeseburger junkie I found the double patty hit the spot, perfectly cooked and juicy. With oozy cheese and tang of pickles and sauce. Super rewarding. Also recommend the Poached chicken sandwich (fresh and tasty), the Cauliflower fries are a must order, and so are the Sweet Potato fries. One of Melbourne's best cafes.

What an amazing cafe! The food was so fresh and delicious. We are not dessert breakfast lovers but the pancakes were so good we are going back for them! Lovely staff and great coffee!
Bigmelbappetite
What a lovely morning breakfast at Fourth Chapter ! You know a place is good when you arrive on a weekday and it’s packed! So many vegetarian and vegan options, we were spoilt for choice!
Lina's Music House
I've been here twice because I love the food and atmosphere.

Everything on the menu I've seen so far is plated nicely and has its own unique flavour.

The waiter recommended some dishes.

I've tasted a few of their staff recommendations and the food does not disappoint.

The dishes are visually stimulating and tantalises your taste buds.

Fourth Chapter is a GORGEOUS venue!

The food is also gorgeous, and delicious !

I tried the dragonfruit smoothie - yum! The nourish bowl - so vibrant and tasty! The sweet potato fries - delish! And the VEGAN PANCAKES - amazing!! All the food was beautiful and tasty 😋

I would def recommend the vegan pancakes.. wow! Definitely share them with a friend or two!

This place is an absolute stand out in the Melbourne brunch scene 😍
The courtyard at the back is perfect for chill vibes, so you can have a chat with your friends over brunch or a cheeky burger! (the inside gets a bit busy and loud but that’s a sign of a great place)

I’ve been a few times now and each time has been a great experience. I’ve tried the
1. Double cheeseburger with sweet potato fries: the highlight of the burger is the smoked mozzarella, but in general this burger was satisfying without being over the top. 🍔🍔 The sriracha aioli for the sweet potato fries is on point👌🏼👌🏼

2. Smashed avo: I love that saganaki is served with this dish, I added a sneaky side of bacon to make it a bit more filling but this dish is perfectly balanced and yum! 🥑🥑

3. Sweet potato and ricotta waffle: my absolute fave dish here, the turmeric pickle hollandaise on the waffle is out of the world next level! 🥔🥔

All of these dishes were unquestionably delicious.
On my most recent visit my friends had the nourish bowl and the green fields dish which they both said were out of this world and incredibly tasty vegan dishes (one of them added a poached egg) 🌱 We also had the red velvet latte and almond lattes. 🥗🥗☕️☕️

Overall: great location, great service, amazing courtyard and amazing food.
Will be back again!! ❤️

With an amazing array of cafes in this part of town, you really have to be doing something exceptional to stand out from the crowd. Fourth Chapter in Prahran does this with ease. From the moment you walk through the huge white door, you are in for a real treat. Fourth Chapter has managed to get all the elements right... cool ambience, excellent staff and an outstanding menu, so dining here is always a pleasure!!

We were lucky to visit recently on a gorgeous Melbourne day, and unfortunately just missed out on one of the coveted spots in the lovely courtyard; but we still managed to nab a great table inside. The cafe is so light and airy that it's almost like being outside anyway. We started out with perfect coffee and the most delicious smoothie... so decadent that it was hard to believe it's healthy!!

It was difficult to choose from one of the best cafe menus in Melbourne, but we finally settled on the Eggs Benny and the famous raspberry pancakes. The eggs Benny are some of the best I've had, with perfect waffles that are light, fluffy but still crispy. Everything on this dish is perfectly balanced and it's as pretty as it is delicious!!

We saved the pancakes for last, and as hard as we tried, we couldn't finish this massive stack of deliciousness!! You will not go hungry with this dish. The pancakes themselves are simply divine... thick and fluffy, and beautifully presented. Add in the raspberry coulis, meringue, berries, syrup and coconut icecream and this is heaven on a plate. Not overly sweet, the sharpness of the berry coulis adds balance to all the sweeter elements, making each bite irresistible.

Fourth Chapter is one of those cafes that has a constant line at the door and after our most recent visit it's easy to see why. We have never been disappointed with either the service or the food, and it is the type of place that is most definitely worth the wait!!

I had
Waffle Benedict
Coconut raspberry pancakes
Fried Cauliflower
Mushroom French toast

All was very good the highlight was waffle Benedict there was an abundance of hollandaise and the waffles were really crispy and not soggy at all.
The pancakes I enjoyed the least, they were average not super fluffy but by then I was super full.
Mushroom and cheese with the French toast is really flavourful as well. Cauliflower tasted a tad raw for my preference.

Great but better to share!

I ordered the very famous, baked crumble! And I am a FAN of crunchy, nutty, cinammony and fruity things. Honestly, dump an entire bag of granola down my throat and I’d finish it but this was definitely abit too much for me! Don’t get me wrong, its a FANTASTIC dish but I thought the fruits was abit overwhelming and I definitely couldn’t finish it.

However, the aesthetic of this cafe is gorgeous. It’s peaceful, quiet and pleasant. The service is pretty good too and hey, the selection’s pretty amazing!

Definitely a cafe worth trying and I’d definitely come back and hopefully find something I LOVE! :)

A great cafe located in Prahran. Loving their courtyard and the sound of water makes it very relaxing and an enjoyable place to be.
We got the Poached chicken sandwich, Roast pumpkin salad, Green fields with a poached egg and Sweet potato & ricotta waffles along with the Pimms fruit cup cocktail, Pink panther smoothie and Ruby grapefruit juice.
The roast pumpkin salad was my personal favourite. The pumpkin was nice and sweet, and that miso & vegan mayo drizzles on it, just yum. The sandwich and the green fields were equally tasty. The waffles wasn’t quite what I expected, was a bit different but nevertheless, everything was nice.
Highly recommended this cafe if you’re in the area!

When we visited Fourth Chapter, we were immediately in love with the friendly staff and beautiful courtyard in the back!

We ordered the smashed avocado & signature pancakes! The pancakes were perfect, fluffy & soft, and topped with refreshing tasty ice cream which was much needed on the sunny Melbourne morning.

Highly recommend this cafe!!!

Amazing place, would come back! My favorite was the avocado with chicken sandwich! Would definitely recommend it to my friends! Great customer service

4.5

We came into fourth chapter the other day and sat at the beautiful courtyard. We ordered the signature berry and coconut pancakes, the turmeric waffle benedict and the smashed avocado.

The smash avo was really flavourful and came with saganaki which I loved , this is a great substitute for feta or goats cheese you usually see at restaurants. The turmeric hollandaise on the sweet potato waffles was our favourite dish , the hollandaise was so unique and paired really well with the waffles and bacon

The signature berry pancakes was a beast , some thing I definitely could never finish on my own. I loved the flavour combination , and the crispy pancakes with the fluffy interior

We like to thank the Fourth Chapter team for having us in!

So many unbelievably tasty dishes here! I’m obsessed with the menu and especially those Baos! BEST BAO IN MELBOURNE - a MUST when you visit!

Came here for a quick afternoon bite and was pleasantly surprised! We came at a good time as there were no queues, staff were quite friendly and had adequate knowledge of the menu.

There is a really nice range in the menu with different options to cater to every person (vegetarian, gluten free and even pets!). There was a good mix of sweet and savoury options. I opted for a savoury lunch option and ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Bao and shared the French Toast Dish with a friend. The service was quite quick which was expected as we were 1 out of 2 customers being served.

The food I would highly rate, the chicken baos were so delicious and crispy. With only a few ingredients it had a flavourful punch, French toast was also amazing. I would highly recommend this place if your looking a satisfying feed and of course a insta worthy pic as the food presentation was also superb!

If I could comment on one thing however there was a really prominent stench the day that we went, hopefully they have taken care of that problem tho! ☺️
Hungry Little Dinosaur
One of my biggest peeves when eating out is ordering and then watching people who came in after me and ordered after me receive their food before me. This happened four times in the twenty five minutes I spent waiting for French toast. Mr Dinosaur had a coffee which was burnt and I got some stale French toast with over cooked mushrooms with a side of sandy unwashed spinach. It was not good. Service was friendly but inattentive. Not impressed at all.

We came here last weekend for a catch up. We enjoyed the fried cauliflower which was a tasty treat. We got the fried chicken bao which was delicious and the sweet potato waffle was slightly salty. We also tried the pumpkin salad which was generous in its serving. The staff was really friendly!

Points for: interesting and well executed menu with healthy options

I've always noticed a huge line outside the cafe whenever I drive past, which is a good sign.
Today I finally took the opportunity to come in to discover one of the inner suburbs' best cafes.

I really like the menu - it reads very unassuming, but when the dish comes out, it's well executed. The cafe is really hitting the cool kids in the area and also the IG crowd with its beautiful plating.

* Raspberry & Coconut Pancakes - One of their signature dishes. It's impressively stacked 3 cakes high and comes with a mixture of freeze-dried and fresh berries. Broken meringue scattered around the plate reminds me of an eton mess, one of my favourite desserts. I think the pancakes are more like hotcakes because of the thickness, and has a nice soft texture, similar to a muffin but not as light as a sponge cake. I like the crunchy edges from the cast iron pan.

* Nourish Bowl - perfect example of a simple dish being well executed. Lots of different textures from the various grains and vegetables. Adding the poached egg gives it a little bit of luxury.

The coffee was also very well made - my strong latte was balanced with just enough bitterness, and the milk had a velvety texture.

The space is a little small inside (the reason for the line), but if you're lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, grab a spot in the courtyard out the back.

Thanks to Costa and his friendly team for hosting me!

Any place that can make me other the vegan breakfast instead of the bacon and egg brioche must be doing something right! It’s normally very hard to get a table but we were lucky and got one straight away.

Coffee was excellent!

Small but cute cafe. What you’d expect in the area. Service was quick, prompt. Food quality was good, the cheeseburger, sweet potato chips and French toast with eggs were all great. Unfortunately the cafe ran out of buns for the burgers so the replacement of sourdough bread was the let down and tasted absolutely horrible. The bill was in excess of $110, overpriced. Do recommend though. Keen to go again for a different experience.

This place is good, really good. I had brunch here today and there was a cue literally out the door waiting to get in ... yes it’s that good lol

Once inside I ordered a strong skinny latte which had a nice flavour, good froth and it wasn’t too hot. Tick tick tick. A great start.

My partner had a blood orange juice which was delicious and it was freshly squeezed and it was sour! Another great start.

I wanted something really healthy so I ordered a Nourish Bowl which consisted of brown rice, picked cabbage lentil sprouts, mungbean sprouts, heirloom tomatoes, turmeric cauliflower, edamame, hummus, sunbutter satay sauce. And I ordered a poached egg, and a side of bacon. I did try hahaha

This was absolutely moorish, it was sooo fresh and I found out that the vegetables are delivered daily! They were excellent, crispy and fresh. The poached egg was yummy and the bacon which was naughty was crispy and for me, a great accompaniment.

My partner ordered a duo salad w grilled chicken. OMGosh the grilled chicken was soooo moist, and one of the salads was spicy, yummo. This dish was delicious and a really good serving size.

It’s great to be able to visit a cafe that has all day breakfast/brunch which is why I believe it was so busy today.

This place is definitely worth a visit, and whilst you may have to wait a few mins to get a table, you can give the waiter your phone number and he’ll call you to tell you your table is ready. How cool is that?

Thanks to the owner for the invitation to visit his cafe today.

VeganeatsM Vegetarian Food Lover Aman Saraf

Let me tell you, the service of this cafe is phenomenal. I love the fact that their focus on all their dishes is healthy and also their variety of vegetarian dishes is huge! The meals are also good value for your $$$ and very generous. I will be back for sure!

Hands down one of my favourite eateries in Melbourne that serves the most epic pancakes in Melbourne! Think fluffy pink goodness! Omg still dreaming of those!

From smoothie bowls to nourish bowls and fried cauliflower, this place has it all! Not one dish will leave you disappointed I promise!

I personally recommend the famous pancakes! But was also a huge fan of their Açai bowls with a generous amount of peanut butter my fav!

Plus their courtyard area is perfect to sit especially in summer and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable! Stunning cafe! Highly recommend!

Although the decorations of the cafe is really attractive and much suitable for photographing, the food were horrible and make me feel nauseous. The mushrooms were overcooked and bread was hard to bite. The worst brunch experience ever.
Two Sheds
Summary: Clearly one of the best breakfast and brunch places in Melbourne. Super classy. Lovely space with terrific inside and outside areas. Good menu here with excellent healthy and not so healthy dishes available depending on your inclination. Superior coffee served here as well. Great place. Highly recommended.

Review

The class starts here at the front door. Wait til you see it. It’s amazing. It leads to a stunning space inside. The space has high ceilings and stark white walls. There’s beautiful greenery throughout the cafe with a number of oversized hanging baskets with cascading philodendrons. It’s a lovely look and it doesn’t stop there. There’s a wonderful courtyard out the back as well. It was a stunning spot on a sunny day like today. There’s several nice areas out there. The one I’d go for would be on the side bench with a view through to the adjacent park. It looked amazing.

I started today with a silky long black. They serve mighty coffee here. Superior beans are used and the brew is expertly made. We started our meal with cauliflower fries which were simply amazing. They were piping hot with a lovely peppery flavour that we both really enjoyed. I love cauliflower but would never have believed it could taste this good. The fries were incredible.

We shared two main dishes. Both were excellent and both were large. The first was a pumpkin salad with kale. It’s a great dish for sharing. The pumpkin is creamy and superbly cooked. The dish includes finely chopped kale, chopped almonds, avocado and sesame seeds among other things. We loved it. It’s very tasty with great textures. Similarly, the southern fried chicken bao is a cracking dish. The chicken is gorgeous. It’s so tender and clearly good quality meat. Add lovely pickled cabbage, sriracha aoli and chilli and lime cashews wrapped in a thrillingly soft bao and you’ve got a real winning dish. It was fantastic.

My partner finished with a flat white which had some very cute coffee art. Like me, she declared the coffee to be superb.

We were so impressed with Fourth Chapter. As I said in the summary above, this is clearly up there with the very best breakfast and brunch places in Melbourne.

Our sincere thanks to Costa for the kind invitation to dine here today. Our thanks too to his excellent staff.

We were lucky enough to be invited here. We came here on Sunday morning and the cafe was already busy. They have a very chill vibes and the staff was really friendly.

We started with matcha latte and the grapefruit juice, very refreshing! The matcha was really strong unlike some places that you cant really taste the matcha.

For food, we ordered 3 dishes: acai bowl, raspberry granola with panna cotta and sweet potato and ricotta waffle. If you look for the best acai bowl in melbourne, look no further ! Fourth Chapter serves the best acai in our opinion. It is perfect. The panna cotta tastes good too. It goes well with the granola. We love it even more when we add coconut milk. The sweet potato waffle is a bit different than normal waffle. They were very generous with the portion of bacon. We got loads! So yum!

Really love this place! Will def come back!:)

Fourth chapter represents everything that I want from a perfect brunch spot. Its gorgeous interior filled with wooden tables and chairs, white walls and greenery around the cafe attracts all the locals and non locals into the store.
After one glance at the menu, I knew exactly what to get and went straight into ordering- the poached chicken sandwich. As simple as it sounds, sometimes it’s the simple dishes that taste the best. No gimmicks, just some quality poached chicken mixed with honey mustard mayo, toasted almonds and of course the ingredient that goes best in a chicken sandwich- a generous spread of avocado. Toasted until the sourdough bread was golden brown, I thought that this dish was presented beautifully and couldn’t haven been done better.
My partner went with the egg and bacon brioche and was thoroughly surprised by how tasty it was. Some bacon, a perfectly fried egg, tomato relish and some slaw on a soft brioche bun was enough to satisfy his breakfast cravings.
A cheeky side of sweet potato fries with side dip never hurts anyone, and I must say this was served in a generous bowl - more than enough to feed the both of us, and so yummy! Overall had a wonderful meal here, can’t wait to come back.

We found this place from google, and wanted to try. The atmoshpere is nice and the coffee was so good. We ordered french toast and waffles. They were both very delicious. For desert we ordered apple crumble, unfortunately when they brought it to the table there was a hair in the cream topping. The waitress offered to change the topping. To be honest i was expecting her to change the whole plate and not include it in the bill.

Always a fun place to visit with good coffee and excellent service. The Rasberry and coconut pancakes and Smashed avo are two of my favourite meals to have here. Definitely recommend visiting this cafe if you’re in Melbourne 👌🏻👌🏻

Had the pancakes and smashed avo w mushies. Pancake was nice to look at but hard to eat as pancakes was too thick n dry. Smashed avo was just average. Service was mediocre but beautiful place tho.

When I think of Fourth chapter, I think of gorgeous instagrammable dishes that taste even better than they look. The menu is relatively healthy but that doesn’t mean they skim on flavour, the food is abundant and super tasty. If you’re a dog lover you might be in for a patting frenzy because people often bring their dogs (so cute) and if you have a dog yourself you can treat them to a special puppy breakfast from the menu, peanut butter on toast.
Shab Sanaie
Food tasted really good but gave me the worst food poisoning 🤢 ordered the big breakfast so I ate the most simple foods possible (eggs bacon avocado etc) so I’m not sure what happened, would not come back.
Christopher
I have been to fourth chapter numerous times as it’s close to home. The service and staff here are brilliant I’ve never had a problem with it, the coffee and food is beautiful I love eating and having a coffee at fourth chapter. The music isn’t to loud which I like. I highly recommend fourth chapter 👍😋

Had a matcha mango bowl, first one ever. The fruit was fresh and delicious. The portion size was excellent. I had this with a chai, this was also very good. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back.
Food Vibes Only
Great ambience, great food with lots of vegan option and definitely good vibes! Reminds me so much of Bali cafes as they overview a bit of the garden on the courtyard side. Will definitely come back, such a nice place to have a catch up brunch!
Good Food Good Mood
We were invited to Fourth Chapter today and were thankfully able to skip the lines. We found the menu largely unchanged from our original visit over 2 years ago when it first opened despite a change in management. This was not a bad thing because all of those amazing dishes were still available to order.

We chose to mix it up and focus on the new additions in the form of the vegan raspberry and coconut hotcakes. These were sensational as was the amazing peanut butter shake. Hubby chose the smashed avo and a side of cauliflower fries which piqued his interest. These were quite unique and well worth ordering to try something different.

The avocado dish was a little different to the bog standard feta rendition owing to a salty cheese substitution in the form of saganaki. The cake cabinet definitely tempted too and we certainly would have indulged had we not had lunch plans. It’s impressive they have managed to uphold their standards and maintain consistency since opening. Thoroughly recommend

Original review
Saturday mornings doing what I do best. Waiting for a table. Fourth Chapter is a bustling brunch heaven. The wait was immediately forgiven when the food hit the table, in fact we considered ourselves fortunate as during the 45 minutes we spent queuing we approached midday and therefore took the opportunity to sample both the breakfast and the lunch menus.

Sweet potato fries with siracha aioli and
southern fried chicken baos. A baked fruit crumble granola with coyo and passionfruit curd pancakes. Stunningly presented but here comes the kicker, it was Instagram food that actually tasted good. Interestingly this place used to be the ill fated Nourished 385 that didn't survive long despite a similar clean eating proposition.

I felt like the waitress was trying to move us on as soon as we finished eating but after waiting so long I was damn well going to stay as long as I wanted. No such complaints about the food however, photogenic and delicious what's not to like

Amazing Food the Sweet potato Waffles were so good, and the Pancakes were amazing aswell. Nice spot to eat and easy to find Also great Coffee!!

My partner and I have been coming to fourth chapter non stop for months now! We cant get enough of the southern fried chicken bao buns. They’re unreal! The service is always great and the place is cute and cozy.

A lovely cafe with beautiful decor and lot of natural light. We loved the outdoor courtyard. Food and coffee were on point but the wait (45 minutes) was a bit of a nuisance especially when the waitress told us at the start it was only a 10-minute wait.

3.5 ⭐️ I love the gorgeous decor at Fourth Chapter, it’s such a beautiful and laid back setting with lots of different mouth watering breakfast options to choose from!

I decided on the mushroom French toast with poached eggs. It was really really yummy but maybe a bit too rich. I wish there is something to cut the cattiness of the whole thing cos it’s very cheesy and buttery. Also I wondered why such a autumn dish would feature in spring.

The weak soy mocha wasn’t too my liking, maybe as personally I don’t really like strong coffee, this one is quite bitter and doesn’t taste like it has much chocolate in it.

I still would take friends there and would love to try the rest of their menu though!

It's a cool cafe in Prahran. The ambiance is great but the food could be a bit better. I might have just ordered the wrong dish. Their Gua Baos for example are pretty good. But the big brekkie is a bit overrated. I'll probably come back to give it another go with their other menus.
