Review Officine Zero - Prahran

Mohamed Khairat
Wonderful little Italian cafe with a good selection of pasta that is fresh and homemade. We got the Cacio E Pepe and the Rigatoni Beef Ragu, both of which were full of flavour. The courtyard at the back is small but nice and cosy. Coffee is good, albeit on the pricier side. Staff are welcoming and friendly.

I love their pasta dishes, especially their cacio e pepe and rigatoni pomodoro. So good! I also enjoyed their cannoli. Love this place!

Absolute gold! The staff are relaxed, friendly, and attentive. They know their menu and it's a good menu! Everything we tried was perfect (croquettes, meatballs, basil pesto spaghetti, panna cotta). I'm a fiend for panna cotta and this is a good one!

SIMPLY AMAZING!! We had a top dinner at the back garden and the place was just a chilled, cozy environment, with the best vibes for a nice evening with friends. We tried a lot of dishes in the menu and they were one better than the other!! Everything was just perfect, food, atmosphere, even the drinks were a good variety and top choices not only for wine and beers but also the soft drinks for the driver were very unique and tasty brands. Complimenti Claudio, this place is just one of a kind. Most definitely one of the best kitchen in town and we absolutely need to get back soon to finish trying the remaining part of the menu. Recommended to everyone!

Absolutely amazing!!! The service and the food were perfection! Officine Zero was the perfect way to celebrate our important (yet lockdown) event at home. Can't wait to dine in! A+++

This place is an absolute little gem! Every time I’ve entered Officine Zero I've been welcomed with lovely smiles and loud “buongiorno”. The staff is super attentive and very professional. This is my third visit this week and I have to say that coffee and food have never failed me. Consistency is the key and these guys have nailed it! Thank you Officine Zero

Slitti Traditional Italian Hot Chocolate(the best flavour) was available in Warrnambool then short bus trip for again in Port Fairy...no more...only at Officine Zero...so far!

The best coffee hands down in Melbourne. Food offerings are simple but don't detract from what this place is all about - fabulous coffee that starts with well roasted beans and ends with their trademark service. I hesitate to recommend as I don't want it to become busier than it already is!

Cannot fault Officine Zero. With a warm greeting when you walk in the door to the gorgeous aroma of their coffee. Highly recommend these guys.

Love the atmosphere here it is like you in little italy lol.. it is my local shopping centre and with Cafe Latte and 39+ both also speak in italian when serving you.. but the coffee is great and food is nice too

Delicious food & coffee, great service with friendly knowledgeable staff

I am in the courtyard. It is sunny and shaded with the dark greenery of a tall tree hanging down. There is an olive tree in a pot, lilies and ferns, sharp white pebbles line a small path and the outdoor settings are in iron with flourishes and tiles with lemons.

Success! A quick bite and sip with Miss 5 & Mr 0, thank you to the staff who helped me in and out with the pram up to the back room where there was plenty of room for the pram and kids. Shared the prosciutto panini, and it was perfect - The prosciutto was so thin and delicious it seemed to be melting along with the cheese (not pictured due to hungry kids). The drinks were also on point, looking forward to more of an extended menu which I understand is coming soon.

It’s true, Officine Zero serves one of the best coffees in Melbourne and it doesn’t get enough recognition for that. I really enjoyed my long black, perhaps my favourite yet.
Renee Sturtevant
Best coffee in the area and add to that the friendliest baristas in town. Try it, sit in or take away. Officine gets busy on the weekend but is well worth the wait!
LaCesirafromEmilia
Definitely best Coffe in Melbourne, the staff is amazing always smiling and with a twist of Italian charm.

Panini and salads are really good and made with fresh ingredients.

I really can't fault this place. Coffee is some of the best I've had in Melbourne, and service is always genuinely enthusiastic and friendly.
World In A Bite
Good coffee and croissants 🥐 (even my Parisian friend said so 🙊)... it gets very busy on the weekend, so a waiting time of 15-20 min is a norm. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Although other cafes are improving, this continues to be the highest quality coffee in Melbourne. The atmosphere is cosy, casual and friendly. Makes me feel like I am in Europe every time...
@twogoodtoresist
Officine has some of the best, most authentic Italian coffee and food we've had in Melbourne! This caprese sandwich melted in our mouths and made us feel like we were back in Italy 🇮🇹
Hungry
The best coffee in Hawksburn by far.
ManuManu
The coffee is the best in the area hands down, so is the friendly welcoming service! If only there were another officine zero at our local shopping strip in Caulfield North starved of good coffee. This place won't disappoint!

I had a cappuccino here and it was pretty nice. Also ate one of the sandwiches (paninis?) and it was nice, I thought it was cheap at $9.50 but I could probably make it myself at home for less and equivalent quality.

The atmosphere here is VERY Italian, you will hear the staff speak to you in Italian when you walk in and you will hear the staff yelling out orders to the chef in Italian. The staff are VERY friendly and attentive. But so friendly that it feels a bit exhausting, I imagine they are exhausted too, their boss has obviously told them to be enthusiastic but maybe should not be harsh on them (let the staff be themselves and they will still be friendly :) )

Popped in looking for a quick bite to eat at this unassuming, easy going Italian cafe . We ordered the pancetta roll and a prosciutto panino. Both were absolutely delicious. Friendly and speedy service. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
Greg
Apparently Officine Zero means 'workshop', but don't really get the connection with the cafe.

Staff are friendly but I found my strong soy latte was virtually tasteless. I haven't eaten any of their food yet.

Officine zero is not for the faint hearted. You either have to be a die hard coffee fan, or someone willing to put in the effort while you're there to appreciate the quality of their coffee. Ive stopped by for a coffee here a few times and, while it can get noisy on the odd occasion, their waitstaff are charming and their coffee is delicious. What I love most about this place though is the "no frills" attitude. They stock an amazing imported Italian bean (amongst all the others they offer), Artisan chocolates and they still are so level headed and humble about it all. This is the perfect place for a business meeting, coffee on the go or a cheeky escape from Melbourne's usual haunts.

Office zero is a casual and comfortable cafe.

I prefer a stronger and hotter cappuccino, but it was smooth and I enjoyed it.

Staff was very friendly.

Wanted to go there because they had a very good reputation for the cofee.... But unfortunatly i'm only drinking hot chocolate and it wasn't tasty at all jist water and that's it. Panino was okay though. Perfect service .

Oh my gosh the best coffee in all of Melbourne hands down! As my review was when they opened, I'm re-reviewing as they've now not only got amazing coffee but little panini's that are delicious.

My fave thing though? The inside out brand almond milk. I know the guys that make it and it's the best almond milk - perfect with their amazing coffees and service. Like a little Italy in here - great seating out front too!

If you like latte, You must try this cafe.
If you like panini, you must try this cafe.
If you like Italian vibe, you must try this cafe.

Before anything arrived at my table, I struggle to understand why this place has such high rating. The ambience is nice, simple, clean, comfortable...but nothing really outstanding.

The menu have very few choices... panini, focaccia and a few salad.

And then the beautiful experience come to life. Starting with the Italian waiter that is friendly and passionate. Follow by one of the smoothest latte I've had. I'm very much a coffee connoisseur (snob) and the beans is not my favorite (light med roast). But the barista's technique is exceptional. Just wondering if he can do this well every single cup. I suspect that's just how good he is.

And then come my simple bacon and egg panini. So wonderful. Fragrant. Crisp. Not sure if they put any prosciutto in it but I definitely tasted a wonderfully similar to it with just the right amount of salty flavor to it...

I must come back again to ascertain tht this place is really tht good or if it's just a one off. Julian B Ho ...if you happen to swing by this area, please do a review for this cafe.

Ps. Sorry too busy to take pics. It was a business brunch.

Best coffee!!
Beautiful Italian artisan chocolate.
The Girella is delicious :)
The staff are super friendly.
Highly recommended.
A piece of Italy in Hawksburn.
Ps. We even got travel tips for Firenze!

I'm so happy to have this slice of Heaven in the neighbourhood. I would go as far to say best coffee in Melbourne (I know!) and their breakfast panini will transport you to Italy.

Great little cafe with fresh off the boat Italian boys who are just so welcoming. Had a coffee yesterday which was good but the salad they made me for lunch is just yum. Rocket, Beetroot, Goats Cheese, Caramelised Walnuts with Honey and Balsamic glaze. Just perfect.

Had an amazing almond milk latte from this buzzing italian hotspot. Had always walked by but had never been in. Staff are very friendly speaking quick italian to eachother.
Almond latte is hard to find- and they nailed it.
Amanda
Coffee as an art, coffee as a science at officine zero. They take their coffee seriously here and it is done right. The service is great too. Do yourself a favor and experience it. But be aware, it will get busy. Either be prepared to wait or come early.

Best coffee I ve ever taste drinking regularly the latte is creamy milky but coffee taste thick
super friendly Italian guys delightful place! love it.
Sven C Nilsson
Open, friendly cafe which serves a limited but delightful array of salads, sandwiches and cakes. I had the Italian hot chocolate which was rich and delicious.

Great coffee - Impressive actually. Ambience was casual and cozy with rustic/urban decor that gave the place a comfortable edge. Small place with friendly and genuine service.

Little coffee shop run by true Italians. Focaccia caprese with tomato and basil seems to be the favourite of locals. The toasted bread is soft and crunchy at the same time, mozzarella, tomatoes and basil are fresh. Recommend trying. However the best item on the menu seems to be the pear and choc Danish. Simply delicious. The environment is friendly with high level of energy.

This spot is a delightful much needed addition to the Hawksburn area. A true little Italian experience. The service is warm and so authentically Italian, I was beckoned inside by an open door and local language.

They now do almond milk, from almond milk co, ordered a strong almond latte which was divine.
They also have a small selection of pastries on offer that look very tasty. I didn't order one myself but just about everyone else who walked through the door did which I take to be a promising sign.

A beautiful minimal, old world feeling cafe. Will happily be returning again and again.
One Piggy & A Bear
Love the vibe, love the coffee, love the service. When you walk in, the guys there will welcome you in Italian and in fact they speak very strong Italian-accent English (which I like). It's pretty busy every time we drive pass, but was pretty quiet when we came. We asked for recommendation and ended up ordering one flat white & one iced coffee. My husband and I had not been a big fan of Italian coffee until we tried Officine Zero. Their coffee is not too overwhelming (not as strong as columbian beans) but good enough to make us crave for more. I didn't have much expectation for the iced coffee but i really enjoyed it. One more thing might be helpful to someone is that Officine Zero is also selling 20yr & 25yr balsamic vinegar from Italy, which I think it's not easy to find at supermarkets.

The lads here prepare the best coffee in Melbourne at the moment with friendly, genuinely Italian service. Other so called specialty coffee roasters/houses in Melbourne need to take note from Officine Zero as to how a proper coffee should taste like. No weak, medium roast, citrus tasting rubbish here.
Girlabouttown
Amazing coffee and love how the staff speak Italian to you and you just know what they're saying even if you don't speak the language! Beautiful chocolate also.
This Butter Is On A Roll
Officine Zero has by far the BEST coffee I have had. What I love most about this exceptional little coffee shop, is the quality of the coffee, the service, and the highly spirited way in which it is all delivered to you.

The delightful staff make Officine Zero uniquely enjoyable, as does the small but quality selection of food and chocolate.

Look no further for the BEST coffee experience in this highly caffeinated city!
Fred Buscaglione
Best coffee in Melbourne, really excellent; great staff and beautiful café. The chocolate is worth a visit, too, and the traditional hot chocolate is worth the hassle to find parking...
Ian
Great coffee with a bit of theatrical staff :)
Fit out is quite cool with buzzing atmosphere. Music is a bit loud but that's ok ! Will be back !

Have been going to this Italian style cafe almost as long as it has been open and have always had a great experience! My friends and I go and just sit for ages, coffees are great and their sandwiches are so delicious!!! I usually get the salami and cheese toasted baguette, and it always on point!! The chocolates are great to buy as a gift as well.
Also it is nice to sit and have the Italian boys who work there chatter around you in Italian, and sometimes if it's a little quite and you can hear the Italian music, some of the guys sing along😄
Salvatore Ciano
Best coffe ever had in Melbourne!!! Not much to say about it... Happy staff.... Try it and you l fall in love with it!!!! Can't wait or this guys to open a real kitchen as well...

A great point of difference among same-same cafes.. What else goes better together than chocolate and coffee?

Great Italian coffee experience enhanced with artisan Italian chocolate.
LG
Top Italian coffee and chocolate!. The coffee here is perfectly made every time and the chocolates are amazing!
Have taken a few different blends home to try too and have never been disappointed.
Well worth a visit!

Chocolate Covered Almonds. Forget other chocolate almonds you've ever tried. This is something else!! *nomnomnom*

Fine coffee, Italian style. Finally!
New staff is a bit abrupt at times.
The Italian vibe is definitely there, in the good and in the naughty side of things... ;)
