Review Juicy Dumplings - Prahran

M C
The Shanghai juicy dumplings are relatively small and they are not juicy at all. We were a bit disappointed with it. I much prefer the wanton soup instead. Hmm…don’t think I will come back again.

Dumplings were so amazing - both gluten-free and non gluten-free. The xiaolongbao soup was perfect and the wrapping thickness was also just right. The pork in the pan fried pork dumplings were also really delicious. The gluten free dumplings were probably one of the best GF dumplings I've ever tried, and from short conversations, the staff seemed like they really cared and are very careful about cross-contamination -which was really good to see. They were out of the pork GF dumpling which was a shame but I think it's definitely worth another trip back here. Plus they have frozen GF dumplings for sale so we can finally stock up on proper meat dumplings and not the subpar supermarket ones. But most importantly - THE SATAY. Best satay i've ever tried tbh. It was phenomenal. Not sure why others commented on bad service or the cleanliness but I had a different experience - the lady taking my order was very friendly, and the place is as clean as a common diner or any chinese place in the city. The only complaint I have is that it's not located in the CBD for me to access it a lot easier. All in all, i'd highly recommend this place :)

Recently dined in here with a friend, we ordered pan-fried pork dumplings and soup dumplings (both tasty, but a little small), also got a serving of the combination noodles which was delicious! We were too hungry to take photos, but the serving size was very good. Staff were also friendly and sweet. Would dine in again.
The Gollys
I want to say a positive comment first. The chicken satay was actually really nice. The rest was pretty average. We ordered a greens with mushroom dish. And they came out with a completely different dish than in the photo. When we commented the lady just said we changed the vegetables but it's the same. And it was nothing like what we ordered. Would not be in a rush to return

After googling gluten free I travelled 25 minutes on the tram to get to this place and it was worth the travel. I loved the gluten free dumplings and the staff were very friendly and more than happy to help. I wish we had one in Sydney. Thank you for a very yummy lunch.

I am a big fan of the dumplings served here. You can watch them being made in the window but best of all you can eat in then ask for a take away container because if you are like me you will order enough for two meals. Great choices and all are delicious.

Good gluten free options and gf menu! The dumplings and satay chicken were nice and I love how they cater for coeliacs with a separate fryer! The downfall would have to be the fact that the gluten free chicken dumplings also had prawn, but this was not specified on the menu. Fortunately I wasn't allergic, however I don't eat seafood. This could be an issue for someone allergic to prawns! The cleanliness of the place is low, it was quite dirty and they use single-use cutlery, plates and cups which is disappointing. I would possibly come again but for take away. Lovely staff though!

Amazing gluten free dumplings! I was pleasantly surprised at the gluten free dumplings - they are slightly tougher pastry than wheat dumplings but still incredibly enjoyable and tasty. I really like how this tests has a non GMO menu and state they use olive oil - this is a huge plus for me! I hope more restaurants will become more transparent like this about what ingredients they use Mongolian beef was very tasty and peace of mind knowing it was cooked with olive oil. Only critique is the order took quite some time to come out and I felt like they forgot about our order at one point. They were very busy though. Also would have liked some serviettes but could not find any Otherwise, great food, will return

So delicious. So friendly and welcoming. So much food for such a great price. Great quality for price of perfect home Made dumpling!!!!! Love this place
Lenka.hadravova
This your typical local Chinese dumplings joint. Casual, fast-foody atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Yummy dumplings. Could do with better cleanliness and table presentation, however, very friendly staff. Would come again.

Whilst dumplings were different to others, they certainly weren't worse. Some better flavouring. Xlb skin slightly thicker, but flavours better.

The ckt was not authentic, but it was still appetising, especially with an ample amount of lap cheong.

Laid back, cheap eats with friendly service.

I'll be back.

Great pork bbq bun and Singaporean noodles! Great value too.

Easily the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ll start from the beginning lol. We brought our own wine, they didn’t have ice, cooler packs or even a bucket to put the bottles in. The waitress brought wine glasses that were dirty so we had to send them back for clean glasses. When she brought plates out we had to send them back to because they were filthy also, when they came back, they were drenched in water. We had to get napkins to dry our own plates. The food was below average , the black bean sauce just tasted like soy sauce, the rice was greasy, dumplings were not good, the only food we liked was the prawn toast. The toilets were disgusting , dust and cobwebs all over the windows. The worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant, the place should be closed down

One of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in Melbourne!
Granted this is a ‘cheap eats’ restaurant so you get what you pay for - but the dumplings aren’t actually cheap in comparison (you get a couple more for the same price at many spots in Melbourne CBD).
The lack of comfort and extremely poor service are my pet peeves - the wait staff even swore in Chinese when we told them they got our order wrong!
I will not be back.

With someone making dumplings in the front window, I thought it would be a safe bet getting some dumpling. I got the pork pan fried dumplings, Shen Jian bao and kuay teow take away. I went across the road to grab a coffee, and finished it while I waiting to take home. Not bad the food for the price, but very oily. If you are in a rush - this is probably not the best choice.

This place used to be so good, but the quality has gone downhill. Xiao long bao was dry with no soup inside it. Sheng jian bao was also dry. There are other places nearby with better qualities and it's sad to see a small place like this not keeping up with the competition in order to survive.

Chaotic ... it is what it is ...
Good Chaos perhaps ... Good dumpling and food 7/10 while the place is so chaotic with a broken auto closer front door, ordering, uber eat driver, patrons, and service ... at best 4/10 just barely enough service.

Worse Singaporean noodles and dumplings for a very long time. Noodles were sweet?? And had a odd flavour of old oil.. we tried adding vinegar and chilli oils to it, but the vinegar itself was awful too (perhaps some cheap rip off of Chinese vinegar)?
4/10 Dumplings skins were broken when served. All the flavours (which wasn't much to start off with) were washed away. What's left? the fillings only consists of pork and spects of chives, which are normally only used for fillings for xiao-long-bao. So disappointed to say the least.. dont even know how they got the rating of over 3.0

Your typical local dumpling joint.

Offering all the standard dumpling choices for a reasonable price given the location. It's always bee prompt and friendly service each time we've been here.

If we were in the area and wanted all the staples of dumplings, I would not hesitate to come here.
April_eats
Ordered uber eats to work. I made a request on the order and the restaurant called to clarify, i thought that this was great customer service as most places would assume and just send the order anyway.
I got the mixed dumplings, pan fried, choice of 2 flavours - chicken and pork. They were both really tasty. The wontons were super crispy and he prawn crackers were fresh. The only complaint i have is that they didn't send any vinegar with the dumplings, only soy and chilli.
ArchieTheHipster
Dumplings are really salty, especially the xiao long bao which still has some pork smell (awful). The hokkien noodle is not even the hokkien noodle. The salt and pepper squids dish is really a small portion. It seems like they changed all the chefs and floor staff

Popped by for an early lunch while doing errands around the area as I was craving dumplings, and had also been recommended this place by a friend. Just a small store off Chapel St, what will catch people’s eye as they walk past is the fact that you can watch the chef hand-making the dumplings in the window. As there weren’t many other diners, service was fast.
After scanning the menu I decided to order the pork and chive dumplings in chilli oil, and was pleasantly surprised! The dumplings were juicy, had lots of filling, were well cooked, skin was a good consistency and thickness, and the chilli oil was delicious.
Would definitely pop by to try more of what they have to offer!
The Critical Barista
Although the chicken fried rice was really nice, the chicken & prawn fried dumplings brought the whole experience down. I am very skeptical of places which don’t put discernible prawns in chicken and prawn dumplings..and this was one of those places. The contents of the dumplings essentially tasted and looked like a cheap Coles chicken mince sausage. It was also PINK which was extra off putting. This shop needs to use higher quality ingredients; surely they value their customers enough to believe they deserve the bare minimum. There was no music playing inside and combined with a basic decor made for a mediocre atmosphere. Unimpressed.
James Hughes
Half the menu wasn’t available, they didn’t have any ice. Staff were uninterested in service. Had to go next door to find some ice... food was average. Dirty plates left in view of patrons #kitchennightmares

Cheap hearty and a great value for the dumpling soup. I hardly visit a place twice but after having once I went for a repeat in a week's time. Not sure how their other dishes are but there pork dumpling soup is just brilliant for this winter. Hits the right spot.
Split The Bill
There is surprisingly not many dumpling options on Chapel St. The high overheads on this busy street would make dumplings hard to be affordable, but the prices are reasonably cheap and the menu is extensive. Service was friendly and quick. If you want no frills tasty dumplings on chapel st, this is the place to go. It's great seeing the staff making their dumplings on site, which adds to the authenticity of the place.

Never had a bad experience at this place. You can be waiting a while in busy times, but that is to be expected. The food is well worth the wait. Good value for money.

Received a Groupon voucher for Christmas and tried to use it today. Voucher said $40.50 value but when i tried to make a booking online as per instructions, the booking said that it was only valid for $19. Tried to ring the restaurant to sort it out. The lady who answered was not helpful and said i had to sort it out with Groupon, said thank you and hung up.

I have had better. The dumplings were smaller in size. Flavours are ok. It's a fast food joint that is better for take away. Don't order Singapore noodles it's plain as and the serving portion is small. I won't be back as there are many better dumplings eateries in Melbourne.
Aximili
Very good Singaporean noodle. Dumpling is so so, they're too thick. One waitress was very nice, but beware of the grumpy old lady at the counter.
Hungry Hieu
A nice selection of dumplings on the menu and you can choose to have them steamed, pan fried, or in chilli oil. There isn't much for interiors and you need to self serve however we got to see staff make the dumplings fresh on site which was a treat. Our food all came out fresh and we didn't have to wait long either. The xiao long bao was bursting with soup when I bit into them. In addition, the dumplings pastry wasn't too thick and had good portion of meat fillings. The flavours can be improved as they were a bit bland but overall it was a good eat in the busy Chapel st.

I like that this place has lots of different types of dumplings. Firstly, their vegetarian dumplings are not very nice, they're too green on the inside and not a lot of anything else to add flavour. But their fish dumplings are a decent alternative for me and the spring onion pancakes are yum. Definitely not my first choice to go to when it comes to dumplings but good enough to go back to for quick cheap lunches.

Came here after an event with the youngling. We arrived 30 mins prior to closing so was impressed to see we still got variety of choice and it was still quite busy - not bad for a Sunday night!

Ordered the chicken & prawn dumplings (steamed) and the combination of half duck & pork, half beef as they could only do a half serve of the duck, we got these pan fried for some variation and comparison. The youngling can never pass up Spring rolls, so a serve of those was on the cards as well - we opted for the pork.

We opted to go to the bar to eat on arrival, however the surface was incredibly sticky, so seeing that a booth was leaving we headed there. I opted to clean the table myself as I didn’t want to wait and the cloth and cleaning solution was close by. No issue there, and once the staff saw what I was doing they seemed almost embarrassed.

Service was friendly and prompt with all components on the table within 10 mins.

The spring rolls were crispy and delicious and the accompanying sweet chili was thick and tasty. The pan fried dumplings came next and I simply adored the duck, truly delicious and delectable. I could eat these forever. I found the beef lacking the same memorable flavor, however I frequently find this with Chinese dumplings from multiple outlets so maybe beef simply should be immures from my selection as it is simply not a favorite.

The chicken steamed were the last to arrive and boy, were they the hero of the night! The perfect dumpling/filling ratio and oh so juicy!!! These were the hit for us from the night and in future I think we will only order the options steamed as they were the juiciest I have ever tasted - ever. At least they live up to their name.

Additional highlight was the chili oil condiment on the table. Flavorful and not overpowering but with still a pleasant bite. Even the youngling loaded up on it - something he rarely does.

Can’t wait to go back - looking forward to trying their fried ice cream!
Ignatia
Hmm their xiao long bao is quite dry.. I mean it's supposed to have this ~juicy~ soup when you bite it right.. (maybe i'll try their dumplings next time to see if they're actually juicy and live up to the name) 😕 very mediocre duck bao. the only good thing that we ordered is dan dan noodle. I'm not impressed with my first visit here tbh

The owner is very friendly giving you suggestions as per your taste buds. We tried their beef dumpling with chilly oil which was juicy and freshly prepared (all the orders are served fresh). They have some drinks to enjoy with the Juicy Dumplings. Divin Paul

Juicy dumplings were wonderful and perfect for before our night out, and were accomodating enough to change our order from eat in to take away when we realised we were late for our show. The staff were very friendly and flexible- highly recommend and particularly convenient for dumplings and drinks before a night out.
Dam Burger
Reasonable dumplings. Don't like ordering and paying at the counter though. Byo is great as dans and liquor land across the road. Must try the salt and pepper chicken.... very yum

Pop in, shown some picture asked for a noodle but when the food arrived it looks completely different. Unapologetic and not trying to offer or resolve the issue. The noodle taste horrible, i cant even eat it. Bad bad bad. Wont come back ever avoid at all cost

The location of Juicy Dumpling restaurant was fantastic and very strategic. It was located close to the intersection between Chapel street and Malvern road. The interior design was very simple and humble look and feel. The service was quite nice.

Unfortunately, we found that the table wasn't properly cleaned, oily and sticky so was the vinegar bottle. If it was cleaned properly, surely the customer would get better experience in this restaurant.

We ordered:
* Singapore fried noodle for $11.50.
Singapore fried noodled served with Chinese sausage, capsicum, prawns and bean sprouts. The portion was pretty generous.
We really enjoyed the Chinese sausage served in dish, the taste was really great and the vegetables served were cooked well. However, the taste of fried noodle was slightly above average.

* Pork and Chives Dumpling (wheat flour, pork, chive, ginger, chinese cabbage, pepper and sesame oil) for $10.50.
The dumplings were served fresh, good quality and well cooked (beautiful colour). The dish had great flavour (perfect seasoning) and taste.Unfortunately, it was little bit dry inside and too oily on the outside or else it will be absolutely perfect.

Yay : Pork and Chives Dumpling was good
Nay : Both dishes were too oily, restaurant floor and table were dirty, oily and not cleaned properly.

Service : 2.5
Taste : 3.5
Price : 3.0
Speed : 3.5

Location : 340 Chapel Street, Prahran, Melbourne
Phone : 03 9510 9072

Went there last night for a quick dinner. Ordered $50 of dumplings and greens veggies for two. We are 15 dumplings each, yum. Good quality dumplings and we were served fast. Perfect to satisfy a dumpling craving.

good tasty dumplings, pork and chive dumplings with chilly oil , salt and pepper chicken and egg custard bun are my favorite , bloody good!!!yum yum yum. :-)

Very tasty dumplings, I walked away as a happy customer! We showed up last minute before they closed and they put the extra effort to deliver some dumplings for us, so 5 for effort! We tried the pork & chives and the vegetarian dumplings. My expectations were on the floor but I was pleasantly surprised. They dumplings weren't as juicy as they say but they were very good quality and delicious. For this price is hard to ask for more. The venue is small and its a cheap eat place so don't expect champagne and a red carpet. I would come back! 😊
Paul
My favourite place for dumplings! Pork and chive dumplings in chilli oil with sambal fried rice and BBQ pork buns. Look no further. Do yourself a favour and give that a go. Yum!
Lucy
Vegetarian dumplings in chili oil are amazing! Come here very often and absolutely love it.
Big Fat Layer
Horrible malaxuangguo. there was even none sichuan pepper in it but just some Lee Kam Kee garlic spicy sauce. Charged for $22.8 for a tiny portion.
DuckieLovesToEat
I was having major cravings for dumplings and this is the closest one that I can see. It looks very busy especially the foodora cyclist who keeps on popping in to take the order. That looks promising to me. The place was ok, nothing fancy. But to be honest, I could careless. I ordered the boiled pork and chives dumplings plus the sambal fried rice. The dumplings were alright but the fried rice was not as spicy as it claimed to be. Plus when the waiter has given us our dumplings, his long sleeve grazed our fried rice. I don't think I will come back again.
The Notorious Masked Bandit
Regular customer. I buy dumplings from these guys on a weekly basis. My favourite dish is the pan fried pork & chives dumplings. Slow to cook but worth the wait!
Rebecca E
Great dumplings, one of our favourite go to places for take away. We have tried other dishes (such as the lemon chicken and calamari) which aren't great but aren't bad either - a little bland in flavour but good portion size. Dumplings are great and haven't disappointed us. Our favourites are the pan fried vegetarian and pan fried pork & chive.
Robyn Morison
Went here earlier this evening and for what you get it was very over priced. Mongolian beef was grisly and the beef dumplings were raw on the inside and burnt on the outside. Not a pleasant meal unfortunately :-(
FFFS Thoughts
Mediocre, at best. This place grabbed my attention because it looked quite busy, and I returned an hour later to have lunch. I felt I needed to try something from both their specialities, so I ordered their Prawn Dumplings and Salt & Pepper Calamari. Salt & Pepper Calamari was sort of atrocious, so lacking in any flavour other than salt, it was inedible. The Prawn dumplings were average, nothing different to what you'd have anywhere else. Service was quite nice though. Not recommended unfortunately.
Julian
Had some vegetable gyoza here the other night while I waited for a friend to meet me. The woman at the counter was seemingly disgruntled and spoke very little English. The gyoza took about 10 minutes to cook and was exactly what you'd expect for $4.50. Was just as good as the frozen packets you can buy from Coles. Still not bad though.
Ketzie
Gluten free dumplings! Fresh! Hot! Cheap! And I may have squirted juice across the table when I bit into them. YES! Will be back to eat again.
Kwan Chan
Dumplings were decent and prices are reasonable but if you're looking for service then don't bother. Also the managers there get really cranky if you return a wrong order. Its like, you gotta eat whats given amd dont ask for anything else.
Sam Kc
A old but large menu that has the basics of any Oriental Cuisine. Dumplings are very inconsistent sometimes being dry and bland. Have come here a few times to "give it another go" but still leave disappointed. Probably the dirtiest restaurant in the area as well.
June Lim
Came in on a late Sunday night when not much else was open. Ordered the sambal fried rice and the fried pork and chive dumplings. Both were excellent. No serious hygiene or cleanliness issues found, just the usual which one would expect from a normal Asian outlet. The honey chicken dish ordered by the table next to us looked pretty good.

WARNING, RAW CHICKEN!

Don't go here.

I have to say the dumplings here are delicious, we love them! But... the venue is filthy, the floor is covered in food, sauce, and hasn't been swept... the benchtops and tables aren't clean, and there are never clean glasses nor bottles of water. The toilets aren't that clean either - always worries me when the toilets aren't clean.... so please clean up your venue JUICY DUMPLINGS!!!However, I love that "mamma' is in the window rolling fresh dumplings every day, and I love your chili wontons! Hope to see you soon, with a cleaner venue!!!
Peter H
Dropped in for a few take away dumplings. Service was quite cold and unhelpful. Ended up with the prawn dumplings and super bbq bun. Prawn dumplings where ok but the bun was microwaved, I saw it go in and come out. Not a problem if it's still fresh that day, but when I bit into my bun the meat inside was still frozen. Needless to say I felt quite ill and very disappointed. I'll avoid this restaurant from now on.

Amazing dumplings! We visited three times during our short stay in Melbourne. Dumpling obsessed! Loved it!!!!! Back in August and plan to take my mother and sister!
Wander Wonder Wonton
Well if the name has anything to go by, it’s got to be good, right?! Juicy & dumplings. Starts with a winning combination if you ask me! Plus it was duck week there… Definitely my kind of place.
Doran
The dumplings at Juicy Dumplings were anything but juicy. There was very little broth in the xiaolongbao and the chili oil beef dumplings had a very thick flour wrapper on them. The texture was tough and dry. The meat filling needed more seasoning, it was a bit bland.
Locknload_007
Not happy. Walked in, sat down, immediately walked out, why would i wanna eat next to two big garbage bins, one labeled recycling and one just whatever, you guys need to lift your game before you end up making people sick revamp the joint.
Cafarellat
Never again. We used to come here all the time for the dumplings but NEVER AGAIN!
Something has gone horribly wrong and the food is just awful.
Juicy Dumplings....there is nothing juicy about them. They are burnt, tough and flavourless.
Want some advice, go anywhere else!
FOOD TRIP
Juicy Dumplings 340 Chapel Street Prahran VIC 3181 Asian take away style restaurant. Typical bright lighting, worn out seats and messy tables. Food was very average. Self serve condiments. Messy but good chilli. Pork Pan Fried Dumplings (10 pcs) $9.80 Good, crispy pastry and decent filling. There were large chunks of spring onion in the filling that wasn't too awesome. 6.7/10 Shanghai Juicy Dumpling (6pcs) $6.80 Pork, Wheat Flour, Ginger, Spring Onion, Pepper and Sesame Oil. Dumpling skin was too thick. Not enough broth in the dumpling. Filling wasn't finely cut enough. 3/10
Girl_Eats_World
Not good. Dumpling skins are too thick and there is nothing juicy about them. Xiao long bao had barely any soup. Just gluggy.

Favourite Dumplings on Chapel Street. I think that this place is what you'd expect. The dumplings are very good and made in front of you (not frozen and imported like at Red Door Yum Cha in Windsor), with efficient and friendly service.
Akn89
Ordered the vegetables and rice, and shanghai dumplings (6) to take away. Never again. Awful. and so expensive around $21.

GOOD DUMPLINGS, NOODLES & SKEWERS IF YOUR LUCKY TO GET A SEAT. This is my second option for dumplings in this area (first is China Family Dumplings). It gave it a run for its money!
Really loved how juicy and spring oniony they were. Better than the last time I came here.
They have GF dumplings too which ill try next time.
I also love the singapore noodles but portion size is too small.
Chicken skewers delish but sauce is a bit weird.
These guys have almost nailed it! Just need to refine and be more consistent.
Worth waiting for a seat or you can get take away.
Kdaicos
Walked in, Walked straight out.. So have eaten here many times before, this time i walked in with a friend and was looking for somewhere to sit ( all the tables had empty glasses and finished plates) to find the chef or cook sitting in a cleaned booth savagely picking her nose without a care in the world. sorry but that was enough for me ill take my money to maccaz.
Kate
Ho hum. The service was quite good but the dumplings were fairly average. The dumpling skins are too thick, the fillings are not overly flavoursome and the soup dumplings are too big to fit in your mouth in one go. I've had much better elsewhere
Gray Kahl
Was good when it opened, but now not so good. Basic pork dumpling still good, but let down by variability in side dish quality and portion size. Dishes still dirty!

Dirty Tables and Glassware. Slow Service. I went there Sunday afternoon for lunch on 24/8/14 with a friend.
Staff were friendly. Ordered two dishes to share. - No problems.

Asked for water and two glasses. Easy and obliging.
Noticed the glasses had heavy residues on them - went off the water.
The water bottle has a very dirty stopper - looked like black mould on it.
Spilt some water on the table and wiped it up with a paper serviette.
Turned the serviette over and it was covered in grime. Tried another patch
on the table top and got the same result.

Waited and waited for the order and gave them the hurry up.
Looks like they give preference to take-away customers.

I won't go back. And I tell my friends about how dirty this place was the day I was there.
Yvonneshea
The worst sambal fried rice ever. This is the worst samba fried rice ever in my life! The fried rice is made of frozen mixed veggies (peas, carrots and corns), eggs and chilli sauce! No meats are in it and it costs $9.5!!!! What the.....they should state this is a vegetarian samba fried rice! Totally not worth at all! Secondly, their xiao long bao is just not juicy! Except the fried dumplings, I don't think there is anything you should order. Wasted my money :'(
Standard Issue
Generally good food but the service can be awful. Very slow to take orders and even slower to get them out. I've been told the wait would be 6 minutes, asked about my order 20+ minutes later and they were still cooking. Not the first time. Once, I even saw them put my spring rolls back in the fryer to reheat.
Tiny Dragon
I have worked in here for month, just like hell!
They make all food without cleaning hands and still serve food after they droped on the floor, always don't wash dishes, just wrap. They have a lot of rubbish behind and they will not clean those away for a week.
I cannot accept that so i quit!Be carefull everybody!

Delish. I had fried chicken and prawn dumplings and meat crispy spring rolls. They were both delicious, fresh and crispy. Probably the best dumpling and spring rolls I have ever had. The food came out very efficiently and very good price.
HANGRYmonster
Super fresh and tasty however the dishes don't come out in any particular order and they can get a bit backed up. Cheap and cheerful.
Daniel Martini
The best steamed prawn dumplings I have had. The prawn piece is large and crisp i.e. fresh

Been to juicy a few times and absolutely love it. Staff are really lovely, always eager to make sure you enjoy your food and are quick to serve. Maybe just need another staff member on when it gets busy because I can definitely see it getting hectic here sometimes and the staff are so lovely I don't want them to be under unnecessary stress! Dumplings are comparable to red door or Hutong and are at a fraction of the cost. It's great value for money in all areas and I highly reccomend!
Simon Walter
Very slow service if it's busy. Good dumplings though.

Would definitely go there again! Highly recommend this place. :)

-----14 Mar, 2014-----

Amazing dumplings!!!! :):) very juicy. Chicken and prawn ones are to die for. Loved it.

Delicious Dumplings in Low Key Surrounds. Despite the small size of the restaurant and simple decor, this restaurant served up an amazing lunch of dumplings - all with differing tastes and textures unlike the many bland and generic dumplings that are raved about elsewhere! Our group of 3 enjoyed a selection of boiled/steamed/fried dumplings and had more than our fill for little over $25pp. Will definitely be back here time and time again - especially when they get their liquor license and we can enjoy our dumplings with an ice cold beer!!!

Local Favourite. Hands down, the best service of any dumpling place in the area. We are always welcomed with a big smile and friendly greeting - very refreshing! The price for the quality is excellent and we always have a good experience here.
Absolutely my favourite yum cha in the area for these reasons.
Birdman
Superb dumplings. I'm a big Hutong man and these are right up there which is not often I say that. Shao long bao are so fresh and soft and juicy... Obviously and the pork buns are full, big and amazing. Great place will be back

Our new dumpling place! So fresh so yummy! Love the juicy dumplings, bbq pork buns and custard egg buns. Very cute and friendly service! Love it!!

WIN!. Great find when everything else was closed on Chapel St over new year, fresh, tasty dumplings and good variety on the menu!
The staff were lovely :)
We will definitely be back.

Outstanding!!! Our usual fa.... Outstanding!!!
Our usual favourite was closed so we thought we would give Juicy a shot. So glad we did - delish fresh dumplings!

Friendly staff and fantastic food. Juicy delicious fried dumplings and the vegetarian steamed a must have!

Fresh, Scrumptious and juicy!. REALLY LIKES IT
This new dumpling restaurant is a real welcome to the limited choices of good and honest Chinese dumpling houses on Chapel Street. Finally there is a friendly serviced, family orientated Chinese restaurant serving freshly made dumplings, xiaolongbaos and rice/noodle dishes at a reasonable price as well.

All the dumplings, wontons, noodles, rice and xiaolongbaos are made on site, with ultra fresh ingredients. The skin on the buns/dumplings are delicate and the fillings are juicy and delicious without being oily or overpowering.

Main highlights for me and my partner were Boiled Dumplings (better than HuTong and on par with Shanghai Street Dumplings in the CBD), Xiaolongbaos (almost as good as Din Tai Fung in Sydney) and the big steam buns. The prices are all reasonable and offer great value for money.

We have visited this place 3 times so far and service from the girls have been nothing but exemplary - friendly, efficient and attentive without being over-zealous.

Red lanterns add to authentic decor but Top 40 music in the background was a bit out of place. But then you know you don't come here for the chic ambience... you are here for DECENT, HONEST AND DELICIOUS NORTHERN CHINESE FOOD. I eat, teach and cook a lot of Chinese food myself so I am quite fussy when it comes to Chinese cuisine - and this place is truly authentic and worth a visit (or three).

Freshly prepared. You can't beat freshly made buns eaten hot. We tried the BBQ pork buns and the dumpling sampler, it was all perfection. The kids are hooked on the buns, and this venue answered all their wishes. Top job at incredibly good price for Chapel street.

Lives up to it's name. Very juicy, yummy dumplings. So juicy, in fact, that they sort of spurt juice out at you, so be careful! lol

Anyways..cute place, nice staff, reasonably priced and very good food. I will go back many times!

Dumpling satisfaction. Fast and friendly service and delicious dumplings - fine silken skins, not doughy, plenty of tasty filling, good chilli oil. $9 for 10 dumplings isn't the cheapest you'll find but we left feeling satisfied with the quality and service.

Dumplings were pretty good, Also ordered satay chicken.... Heres an idea, how about using actual meat instead of fat and gristle...terrible !!!
