Review Stray Neighbour - Preston

It's a really nice place, lots of space inside and outside and the food is good, we were surprised with the frilled cucumber which was delicious! We had a few cocktails which were very nice. The service was good too! Would go there again 😊

Great food. Lovely service. They were a bit late with the food but were friendly and even offered us some complementary drinks. They were busy to be fair! Great local spot.

Great place, awesome beer and vibe. Issue is when we arrived at 3pm we were first told they shut the bar down in 30min and the kitchen was already closed and to reopen sometime later. We are at Surleys down the road and at least 3 groups of people that left Stray Neighbour are now here. Not sure who sets up their hours, but business is being lost as a result. SN is A good spot if you catch them when they decide to be open and serving

LOL called up to book a Friday LUNCH. Bloke on the phone was so busy trying to throw out phrases like “my bro” and “legend” that I had to prompt him about how many people to expect for the booking. We arrived for LUNCH and were told they don’t serve lunch at 12:30 on a Friday….. So we get a table and the “brunch” menu which clearly wasn’t going to be passable for lunch. One person ordered the sardines which were twenty something dollars and sure enough - a plate is delivered with bread and an open tin of sardines. Nothing else on the plate. We literally laughed out loud. We ordered lots of items trying to make up a lunch worthy meal, but other meals were mediocre at best. Only three red wines to choose from. No desserts from the kitchen, just a small selection of cakes/cookies etc in a cabinet. What an underwhelming waste of time and money. But thanks for taking the booking for LUNCH “my bro” you’ve done a great job my bro

Great food and an excellent selection of craft beer. Kid friendly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that the menu was using overly complex technical language that left both my partner and I confused as to what was being offered. I would certainly go back again but next time I'll be prepared to google some if the wording.

Delicious food, lovely breads and wide variety of tap beers...

One of my favorite places to eat and it’s my go to place to meet with friends. Food is incredible, atmosphere is warm and cosy, staff are so welcoming and did I mention the food??? They have a really nice outdoor area in the front which is great on a nice sunny winters day or a warm summers night.

Service is good. Dining room is spacious and clean. Although the menu has changed, the quality of food is good. Our group enjoyed our night. We will definitely return.

We chose the tasting banquet and we had 4 people. You aren’t made aware of the options so we thought we would go on a bit of a discovery tour and didn’t ask. There was a terrific tasting platter of meats and breads and some tasty olives. This was followed by some tapas plates (all deep fried) with delicious sauces. The final meal was and interesting green salad with the pork belly from the menu. The pork belly was served in two pieces so we had to use our own cutlery to share. This was odd but the meal delicious. We shared two desserts and had a cocktails, some wine and beers. The total bill was expensive but ok we are on holidays. The 10% surcharge very odd and when questioned the manager said it helped them pay staff on weekends. I found this strange and he said ‘it’s on all our menus’. Ok but not ok at the same time. Be careful if you are going in a big group.

Went last night, was horrible! I'm suprised by all the positive comments! Food was terrible quality, badly presented and WAY over priced! Even a half decent chief would never let food like this walk out the kitchen! And this place has some big names! $36 for steak and French fries.... Literally that's it. Not even a hint of salad or greenery on the plate. My streak had been cut in half - presumably to see if it was cooked- and was cold. The pork belly was ok, it still had quiet a gelatinous layer under the skin, but was presented nicer than the steak, and had a nice flavor. Drinks are highly priced and while the fit out inside looks cool it's loud and uncomfortable. Seriously disappointed and will not return- even if last night was just teething issues! Blown away at the names that are behind this place and it still failed so badly.

The food is exquisite, the atmosphere warm and inviting and a great selection of drinks. Highly recommend this place.

Best breakfast in a long time, possibly ever. Beautiful but simple food, cooked to perfection and served by attentive and friendly staff. Excellent coffee too. Definitely going to make eating here a regular thing.

Excellent variety in Mother’s Day menu. Beautifully cooked. For me mussels and lamb were standouts. Interesting drinks menu. Funky post industrial decor. Top class service. Highly recommended.

Loved it! Such a beautiful combination. Met my clients at the bar for a drink. Swooshed over to our reserved table for dinner. Then floated off to the crackling fire place for a banter. ���� Four stars... the roasted coffee beans were not to our liking as an espresso. Other than that, we have found our new local meet up! �

Food is great but even though a bit too pricey. I found the music too loud and super annoying though...the whole place got incredibly noisy after a while (maybe people trying to have the conversation over the loud music?). It definitely offers a different experience to the area, but next time I'll try to sit outside.

Love the happy hour only 5 mins walk from my front door. Great snacks and really good food, awesome cocktails, fireplace, with a really mellow ambience. Friendly knowledgeable staff. It's a fantastic Preston local. Often find us here!

Great selection of beer, wine and food. Wonderful atmosphere and welcoming staff. Have been here a number of times and certainly be coming back again!

No disappointments here. Great food, plenty of beer options, atmosphere a plenty and friendly staff. Service not quick if in a hurry but we loved it.
