Review Souvlaki And Kebab House - Preston

Chris Vesty
Souvlaki and Kebab House in Preston do absolutely awesome Souvlakis and Kebabs! The Kebabs are better than 95% of Kebabs around due to the fact that the Meat is all spit roasted over charcoal and not processed junk like you find everywhere these days! The Souvlaki is obviously top quality as well👌🏼 the Chips are also really really nice, you don't need sauce or anything because they are prepared perfectly! I Highly Recommend Souvlaki and Kebab House in Preston! 🌯🌯🌯🌯🌯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Delicious food and will definitely come back here again. We had lamb gyros and pork skewer open plate, it was tasty and great portion sizes.

Good portion look at the photos. Like the taste price is a bit high but good. Chicken skewer in pita 18$

Really friendly staff I came in to try their HSP and let me tell you it was amazing my 1st favourite kebab spot in the North East! Come give it a try you won't be disappointed

Fantastic😃😃, some of the best cooked gyros meat i have ever had. Generous portions, friendly atmosphere, very quick preparation. If you are in the area like I was, drop in and try them. If not in the area, make a trip. Very worthwhile.

I had a lamb souvlaki take away last night for the first time here. Was the best souvlaki I've had since I was a kid and not over priced at 15. Generous amount of lamb, was tasty and tender and no gristle. Not too salty or greasy , just a good balance of fresh ingredients prepared properly. Would definitely come again.

Best Souvlaki I've had in my life. You can tell its very fresh ingredients. Lamb was full of flavour, and perfect ratio of meat, salad, and tzatziki sauce.

What a find!!! We took our chances to visit and we were not mistaken!!! Traditional Cypriot style souvlakia with sheftalies cannot be done anywhere better than this place. Great hospitality and great service!!!

Such excellent souvlaki and not to mention those yummy koupes! Best Greek style food in town. Highly recommend.

Too much Tzatziki sauce, we where sitting right in front of where they make every meal & all meals where made differently, music on plasma was nice but on very low volume, not enough chips in Souvlaki & Tzatziki dripped everywhere, it was nice eating it though, we where hungry, was expensive, sorry will not return, will stick to our regular local 1, we where 1st timers.

Best food in Melbourne experience Greek/Cypriot cuisine at its best great hospitality

Fantastic! So nice to have excellent quality food and great, friendly service locally! We tried those Koupes for the first time today and we are hooked! ! Well done!
Jen Couch
Terrible. A soggy...wet tasteless mess with virtually no meat. Our complaint was disregarded.
Martine Charalambous
Loved the Cypriot souvlakia! Fresh, quality ingredients = a delicious meal.

We ordered via uber eats. Overall we enjoyed the mixed souvlaki with hit chips on the side as well as Lamb meal which included greek salad, hot chips and dip. This was on the pricey side for ok Greek food.
Good Food, Good Mood
Super clean and super fast service.
Ordered a lamb souv, meat wasn’t dry and it was wrapped really nicely so it didn’t fall apart. Would’ve liked more lettuce.
Definitely would be ordering here again 🌯🌯
Kebab was great. However, once it was on the grill I heard the two workers talking , saying he didn’t put my sauce on it. Instead of making a new one, he sneakily squeeze tomato sauce onto the sides once already toasted (therefore a big clump at the top and none throughout the middle). Would have it killed you to just make a new one?

This use to be the best gyros place in northcote/Preston/thornbury/coburg, and I found it as close as what I’ve eaten in Cyprus and Greece. Even rated it higher than some of the more popular named souvlaki places in Melbs.

Since it has changed hands (taking it from the sign ‘under new management’) it’s now known known as Souvlaki Kebab house. It’s lost the smokiness in the meat from the char grill, and the portion size has dramatically downsized. Don’t know what’s happened but it pains me to say that it’s very underwhelming. I’ll be travelling down high st thornbury to your competitors.

I didn't know this place even existed. Its quite hard to spot due to the location on Bell street Preston. The best thing i've tried has been the lamb souvlaki. I have tried almost all the souvlaki joints in Melbourne... This place has the best lamb i've ever tasted. It never disappoints which is rare as some places are not consistently good.
The cypriot food i wasn't a huge fan of and i've also had better chicken souvlaki at other places but the lamb is amazing.

This is not just your average souvlaki place. Honestly this was the best souvlaki I have ever had. Loved the addition of chips in the souva, however not too many, just the right amount. Very impressed. Will definitely be back!

*EDIT* - under new management- not the same. Still good, but portion size is smaller and flavour not as robust. The new guys are a lot more friendly though

Wow! What a funny little find - was not expecting to find this epic souvlaki shop wedged in between a TAB and a foodworks on bell st.
plenty of parking so I fear this might be our new takeaway place on the way home from the east side!

Inside it's just a simple narrow shop, but the meat looks incredible. Pork, chicken, and lamb turning away and caramelising beautifully! I got the mix of lamb and chicken but next time I'll go for the lamb as my boyfriend's was to die for.

Incredible value, the souvlaki was as big and as dense as my head! Will be back for sure.
A nice touch is the newspaper article stuck on the window that they're featured in which presumably goes on about the quality of their meat... this is obvious from the first look inside to anyone that knows their shit.. my ex was Greek so I certainly do.

Chips were good, although I'm a chicken salt fan myself. Next time I'll ask for some chilli inside my souvla too :P

First time we tried this place after friends raved about it. Was a really big disappointment!
Quality and taste of the food was very poor. Probably the worst meal I've had. Definitely will not be back.

Wow! Was so great to find an authentic Cypriot eatery! There's stuff here I haven't tasted for years! The owners are the real deal, cooking generous, fresh and delicious portions of proper Cypriot cuisine. The Pastourma and Sheftalia are an exceptionally rare find even for Melbourne and the I'm glad to report they are spot on. All the meat is prepared over charcoal and will impress the most fussy Souvlaki gourmet. Highly recommended.

Always fresh, always delicious. The most authentic Cypriot souvlaki available in Melbourne.
Have tried most of the menu and it's ALL good! Favourites are the pork souvlaki, zucchini fritters, and chips. And if there is dessert available, do yourself a favour and have some!
Adrian
Best souva in Melbourne. Was shocked when I saw a line out the door so I had to stop and thankfully I did. Meat was melting in my mouth. Family owned, great atmosphere
Winky420
Best souva in Melbourne hands down. Charcoal spit, generous amount of lamb, and chips! Haven't got past the souva to try the rest of the menu yet.

Excellent Cypriot food in an unsuspecting location. You won't be disappointed. We'll be back for more! Amazing seftalies, koupes, and loukaniko, together with mixed grill plates, souvas, gyros and chips! Mmm

Had the lamb wrap and it was delicious. Great quality meat and good value at 9.50. The rest of the menu looks really good for all your greek cypriot needs. Check it out.

Yum! My partner had a lamb gyros and I had the veg (zucchini fritter). Huge and great value for money. Meat was tender and tasty and the bread was so soft and fluffy. Great, quick service. Can't wait to go back!
