Review Punthai - Prospect

The restaurant is located in Prospect, close to other shops and restaurants in the area. The staff were so friendly and professional and helpful. The food was so nice, authentic and delicious. Pad Thai was so good and the prawns were cooked to perfection. The barramundi fish was just amazing, fresh and tasty with a lovely sweet and sour sauce on top. The duck was so balanced, tender and tasty. Really liked the dishes. Just couple of suggestions: the coconut rice was a bit different to the ones i had in Thai restaurants. Seems that it has been mixed with coconut milk after cooking i stead of being cooked in the milk which makes a huge difference. The decor, wall painting and etc need to be taken care of since there are stains, dents and etc which do not look good for a restaurant. The rice did not taste like jasmine rice ( no aroma and different flavours) The online booking system needs to be more organised and updated since we booked online and got the confirmation but it was not on the restaurant's list. All and all, love to try other dishes in this cosy, lovely place.

The food we ordered was really good and no one on my table had any complaint. Everything smelled amazing and was cooked perfectly which you would surprised how often the meat gets over cooked at so many restaurants. The service was adequate and the waiter super friendly. It was good Thai food and don't think it blew my mind compared to so many other Thai restaurants I have been. My only recommendation is to advise the diners of what's not available from the menu as about 3 menus on the item were not available. This generally just helps the diners to make decision early on.

Great food. The staff were great especially the young guy giving out some good recommendations for the entrees. You should get the Choo Chee chicken if you’re coming here!!

We Love your food!!!!! We order a lot on Uber so we can get delivery, would really love to see Coconut rice on the Uber menu as well as so many more dishes on your take-away menu for a bit of variety….

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! Waited 2 hours just for a small bowl of noodles that didn't even tased nice it was just full of oil.And was told if I did not like waited for two hours then we all should have shared the same meal. We wanted to go out as a family and we ended up watching each other eat like DOGS!!!! We told the staff members and they were putting on attitude and said there nothing we can do. I wanted do have rice with my meal but by the time my meal came the rice was freezing.NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

An enjoyable night of fresh and delicious cuisine. A hidden treasure in Prospect to be enjoyed. The staff are pleasant and attentive, what more can you ask. Oh yeah, the fried ice cream topped a perfect night.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Popped by this place quite by accident and I'm sure to go out of my way to visit again. Very friendly service, comfortable dining area and fantastic food. I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you enjoy authentic thai.

Im a prospect local and i must say that pun thai is one of my favorite thai places in adelaide...friendly , excellent food and great service ....recommend to anybody to try...you wont be disappointed.

Had the pun thai fried rice omg... so gewd. You also will not go wrong with the entrees and the sizzling hot plate

Service was always excellent. Food was extremely satisfied. Especially the must try dishes Pad Thai and Tom Yum Prawn. Paw paw salad is also one of my favorite dish. Best in Adelaide.

I highly recommend their tom yam soup..it was really delicious :)

Really nice food and beautiful service! Chicken satay, prawn patties for entree and red duck curry, green chicken curry, grilled chicken with rice for main. Fried icecream to finish. All so good!

Second visit to our new local Thai restaurant and it certainly didn't disappoint. The food is fresh and flavours are sensational. I love that they are so flexible and willing to accommodate vegetarian requests. Staff are genuine and lovely, and the desserts are delicious. We will be back again and again.

The special fried rice was ok, maybe too sweet. And the portion of the tum yum soup was unbelievably small. That small bowl of soup charges 9 dollars.

Love this restaurant, have been there many times and the food and service is always first class. Very friendly, happy and helpful and the food is consistantly excellent quality - fresh and very tasty. Recommend this for a quiet, friendly environment with excellent food.

Went here on Easter Saturday. Place was full. Took a while to get our meals due to the unexpected patronage. Was well worth the wait. Food was fantastic, tasty and plenty of it. Staff were friendly and very apologetic that the food took so long. Will definitely go to Puntai again in the very near future.

Great service, family run restaurant, which makes this harder to say, but the food is just not up to scratch. I assumed since they’ve been going for many years that the food must be good, but things were too saucy, the flavors weren’t balanced at all, it was just more miss than any hit going on. It’s not traditional and their modifications of traditional foods was just not enjoyable. My junk food eating friend even rejected the food. Sorry, but won’t be back.

Best Thai in Adelaide! Every time we eat here for dinner the food and service is on point. Definitely a hidden gem. High recommend eating there for dinner sometime

Thai food has to be my favourite and this restaurant lives up to my high expectations. We get takeaway from here regularly.. love the Choo chee chicken and pad thai. We haven’t had the pleasure of dining in yet.. but the restaurant looks cosy. No doubt it will get busier with the residential developments and new cinema along Prospect road. I hope they can sustain the quality.

This place had nice family friendly vibes and uber orders were running out the door! We had veg fried rice, veg spring rolls, salt & pepper squid, pud thai & salt & pepper tofu. The fried rice and squid were my favourite! The only feedback I have is timing of mains, the rice and noodles came out before the tofu and we were pretty full by the time the tofu came out 😔 but other than that we had a pleasant time.

Very friendly staff and owners who take careful measures when preparing any vegan dishes. A must try from the vegan menu is their tasty Pad Thai.

We went out for a quick bite last night somewhere and found this little place. We loved it! The food is beautiful and the service was lovely. The temple roof light on the wall was what caught my eye driving passed. Highly recommend and we will go back again. We took a doggy bag home and i had that for lunch today....yum!

Just moved to the area, Pun Thai was recommend by a friend for their vegan options. Ive ordered the vegan pad thai twice now and it is so delicious. So happy to have a great restaurant with vegan options in walking distance from home! Staff very friendly too!

Nestled amongst boutique stores along prospect road, as I walked I uncovered this little Thai place and was keen to try this this place out. First impressions, attentive staff, very welcoming and quick service. We had the duck curry, pad Thai, a Thai salad and beef dish. Overall the food was delicious, well flavoured and well priced. Will be keen to visit again and try there other dishes.

Doesnt cut it. Thought we'd try as lack of thai restaurants of quality of late. Had our standard green curry chicken as a measure. Very cosmetic tasting and not an authentic taste. quality of product not great.. entrees had standard dipping sauces - can get out of a bottle. Sadly wont be back.

I really wanted Pun Thai to be awesome as there are no really nice Thai restaurants in the prospect area. I have been there 3 times now so it's pretty safe to say Ive given them a good go- v average- the massaman beef was so tough and chewy- cut the pieces smaller guys!- the green curry was almost inedibly hot and flavourless. Pretty pricey as well. Stick to Pira Thai on unley rd -hands down the best Thai in Adelaide.

Fresh Ingredients, fantastic flavours, great service, simple wine list all at the right price point. We will be back.

Pleasantly surprised.. Was very delicious. I think that it may even be better than regent Thai. Decently priced for both quality and quantity. <br/>Will be returning again shortly.
