Review New Hanoi Restaurant - Prospect

French influenced Northern Vietnamese cuisine. Newly opened, driven past it for a few weeks weeks and decided to come in and try. The front bar looks equipped but wine menu is limited. The food definitely makes up for it- all our dishes were very tasty and delicious. Only let down was the Pho, was not so exquisite as I expected being a North Vietnamese focused restaurant. Servings are on the smaller side for prices for shared dishes. Staff are polite however lack of experience shows, disorganised running around even when not so busy. Toilets are immaculate. Off street parking. Definitely worth becoming a local eatery.

Clean, comfortable restaurant for simple and tasty Vietnamese along Prospect Road. All the dishes we had were done well and prices were reasonable. Pho was outstanding: generous portions, perfectly cooked rice noodles, flavourful and clean tasting broth with fantastic slices of brisket!

Flavours felt restraint to cater to a wider audience. That said, environment was very comfortable and service was good.

The restaurant looks great, and staff is very friendly. We love the Hanoi-style spring rolls which are wrapped with Vietnamese rice papers, and hence very crunchy. The taste of the food here is suitable for Westerners, however the "Fried tofu with fermented shrimp paste salad" is not as similar as the one I had in Vietnam and the "Salt and pepper quail" is quite salty. That is why I do not give a full star. Overall, this is still a good place to go for dinners and hangout with friends.

I find it amazing the comments where they say the servings are small. Go check it out. I dine out average of 5 days a week for past 30 years and i have to say this place the food is amazing,tasteful and fresh. Very well presented dishes and service was awesome. If the place is busy give it a fair go with tge comments. Great food.

Omggggg, the food was amazing. I really like the way people serving me. The thing that makes this restaurant different with others is they focus on North food (especially Hanoi) My favourite food in this restaurant is New Hanoi’s spring rolls noodle salad. I will definately come back again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The food was good, although while ordering I did mention that I was allergic to prawns, the food still came out with prawn crackers.<br/>Asked for extra fresh red chillies which never came.<br/>But even after that had a good experience.

I went to this place with my friends for a lunch date and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and staff were friendly, love the decor as well. I had the New Hanoi’s combination noodle salad and Stuffed squid which I can highly recommend. We’ll definitely come back again!

Delightful surprise... Simple and neat decor... Lovely staff ... And food was yummy too... I would recommend their stuffed squid and lemongrass chicken.... On the entertainment card which made it worthwhile... Servings can be a tad bit small

Nice staff, excellent dishes. The stuffed squid was amazing. Don’t be a hero and order the fermented shrimp sauce. I know you think you’re well travelled and all that, but you’re just not a fermented shrimp kind of person.<br/>Gets loud inside.

Restaurant is very modern and neat. And location is great as we live in the area. Lovely food and the paw paw salad was a great size serving. We love that they had lots of vegetarian options and mock chicken. Will be back

A lovely atmosphere walking in. On a Sunday night we were lucky to get a table for 7 without a booking - it was busy which was great to see. There was lots of great meals on the menu and we managed to get through a fair variety. You definitely must try the stuffed chicken wing - this was delicious - we will come back for this alone. The Hanoi style spring rolls were also excellent. The duck with tamarind was so tender and cooked perfectly - I could easily have had another serve. The beef claypot delight turned out to be made your own cold rolls - but with a theatrical twist with flames leaping out from the bowl. The rice paper holder and dipper in one was a hit with the kids and made dipping much easier. The combination rice turned out to be rice with a side of pork chop, crispy pork and a pork terrine - a pleasant surprise.<br/>The portion sizes are generous which makes New Hanoi excellent value for money.

I was really excited to try this place. The appeal of the exterior is like Sunny’s place and the inside’s like Viet L’Amour. I expected an edge, a menu that sets itself apart from the rest, but it’s the same old. The food was OK. Service was OK. It took way too long for food to come out considering we were the only two in the restaurant. I also suspect msg usage, as I react a certain way when I eat it. That is not OK, but obviously I cannot verify this. Overall, a let down 😔
