The charcoal cooking here is UNREAL. The best grilled fish and chips I've ever had! The charcoal flavour is simply amazing and adds an kick of smoky flavour to the humble burger, or fish and chips. The cook is clearly passionate about his food and it comes through in the meals. Definitely worth trying the charcoal grilling.

Amazing. The burgers noticeably use extremely Fresh ingredients, you can really taste the full flavours of everything on offer, so each burger is unique. A fantastic addition and a great addition to Adelaides burger selection. If you love delicious, full flavoured burgers, look no further.

Adelaide has one thing a lot of and that's burgers eateries this is just one other that does a really good job of making a burger. Style very different to most burger places in Adelaide with this one had that tinged of charcoal flavour kick. The place is by now means big it definitely would suit a bigger place with the large foot traffic. I had the Julius burger and it was amazing. Group of six took up the room of the place but they where very accommodating and customer service was A1.

Delicious classic burger and really good chips with herbed mayo for dipping. Great charcoal taste to the burger and we will come back again. Thanks to the staff very friendly. PS great chips make this place a winner. Sometimes it's not just about the burger 😀

Every time I come here its incredible! The staff are always genuinely friendly, making the customer feel welcome and appreciated. Without fail the food is sensational. Each and every time it's fresh and delicious, with perfectly balanced recipes guaranteeing a return visit. Without a doubt I would recommend it to everyone, and the depth and quality of their gluten free options ensure everyone is catered for and happy! Keep up the amazing work!

Ben Hours is one of those places that make you feel glad you chose this area to live! The menu is large, with a good selection of red and white meat options. The standout here is their charcoal infused flavours from the grill. You've never quite had fish and chips until you've tasted a grilled barra singed with smoke! My pocket favourite is the range of Ben Hur burgers!

Service was incredibly friendly, but the manager/chef/(owner?) yelling the entire time made the whole experience quite uncomfortable. Food took a while, but the chips were a good size, with a great range of seasonings available. Unfortunately, the hot dog I ordered was quite underwhelming. I ordered the Roman, and as someone who enjoys pork and fennel Italian style sausage generally, was very disappointed. The sausage itself was less flavorful than any I've gotten from butchers or even Coles, and the ingredients served with it (especially the mayonnaise) really overpowered it. Additionally, the "bun" consisted of some kind of traditional flat bread- I appreciated how it was clearly made in house, but I think that the denseness of it didn't lend itself to replacing the fluffy bread that normally makes up a hot dog bun.

My partner and I have been coming to Ben Hurs since they first opened, and it continues to be a go-to favourite for us. We love our burgers, and both agree that this place is easily the best burger joint in Adelaide. We visit Ben Hurs at least once a fortnight, and have never been disappointed. Fresh ingredients, flavoursome products and quality service - what more could you ask for?

Got the Bigger Than Ben Hur and sweet potato chips. Both were brilliant. The meat was good with a nice charcoal flavour and the relish had a great strong tomato taste. The chips were fluffy on the inside and very crispy and light on the outside.

First had Ben Hurs burgers ordering through UberEATS. Was so impressed, we decided to eat at their restaurant a few weeks later. Again, the food was tasty, amazing really! Staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming. They were sweet to our young kids and made us all feel very much at home. Also, they make the best coffee milk shakes. Happy to make this our go to burger haunt.

This place has potential! There are plenty of choices on the menu and they cater for food intolerances. Burgers are nice albeit a bit sloppy... the chips are good and the seasoning choices are also a great choice. Service was good. Can't wait to see the new menu.

This place is the bomb!! All the food is delicious and the owner has excellent attention to detail, hence the fabulous service and tasty food!!

Best gluten free take away in Adelaide. Finally somewhere that understands and caters to gluten intolerance and celiac with all food options available gluten free! So good, especially the gf battered fish and chips and burgers!

Pretty underwhelming. Takes a long time to make a below average and overpriced burger. There is at least a dozen better burger places in SA I could think of before this place.

Ok, I've been here a few times now, so I thought it was finally time to write a review. I have tried many things off of the menu, but the fish Burger is definitely my FAVOURITE. This is not your typical fish and chip store or standard burger bar!! The smoky charcoal flavours and the fresh, quality ingredients are always to die for. The choice of seasonings for the hot chips is something different, and all taste great. You can definitely tell there is some passion coming from the kitchen which is clearly represented through its food! I'm totally addicted to the home made chocolate mousse! You can't go wrong with anything you choose at Ben Hurs - you won't be disappointed!!

I came here with my partner and was presently surprised to find they do fish and chips. I tried the fresh fish of the day grilled and it was superb, the chips were perfectly cooked and seasoned with oregano and lemon ( I highly recommend) and my partner had the Flavia burger which he really enjoyed. The customer service was amazing, I'll be coming back soon!!

My partner and I had fish and chips. Can't really stuff that up but this place managed to! It was easily the worst Fish and Chips we ever had. Mine was supposed to be battered but it looked like a soggy floury mess that had been put under the grill. Horrible! The chips tasted stale and looked like they came out of s McCains frozen chip bag. I've also had one of their burgers before and if was quite average. So ANNOYING! We will never be back as it's left a bad taste in our mouth literally.

You'll find this little neat shop slightly hidden on Prospect Road. My partner and I were craving burgers and thought we would give it a go. <br/><br/>We ordered the lamb souvla and Julius burger, strawberry shake and the Greek donuts in salted caramel sauce. <br/><br/>My first bite into the lamb souvla burger caught me a little off guard as I wasn't expecting flavoursome, tender meat that was compactly packed between crusty bread. The whole burger tasted just amazing. The Julius burger was a little standard on the other hand. My strawberry shake was nicely balanced - it wasn't too sweet and you'd get little chunks of strawberries in it. The freshly cooked Greek donuts were simply delicious. I'm not too sure if I'd call it salted caramel as it was more of a butterscotch caramel sauce however despite this, it worked really well. <br/><br/>The service was fantastic and you could tell the Greek gentleman was passionate and proud of this food. It does dent the wallet a bit and there will be a bit of a wait but it was well worth the visit. Will be back again.

Found this place that just opened up on Prospect Road. Love the quality of the ingredients. I got the Julius and my partner got the Bigger Than Ben Hur. The grass fed beef tastes amazing and makes me very pleased to support (also great for your health). Tried the Karma Cola as well. Probably the best cola we've tried in a while. The chips were pretty standard. We got the salt on them. Didn't really notice it much, and I wasn't quite sure how we went about getting sauce.<br/><br/>Liked the ambience. It's got s nice little plant wall (fake plants but a nice effect), and this really cool cylinder that you can sit inside.<br/><br/>The people were very friendly and great service. It would be nice to have a bag for this chips so you could take them with easily without having to ask, but otherwise very good experience.
