El Jannah's charcoal chicken tastes really good as it is juicy and the flavour is there. They are a great lebanese charcoal chicken place with the new renovations done a while ago and lots of seated areas. The chips is amazing especially the salt they put on it. The hommos is nice. Tabbouleh on the other hand needs improvement but still tastes good. Prices a bit expensive. Overall great experience and this place is a regular take away or dine in place for us.
If you’re looking for juicy, succulent, fresh charcoal chicken, this is the place to be. Totally affordable and delicious food. Their garlic sauce is filled with flavour and spices.
One of my favourite places to come for a feed when I’m craving charcoal chicken! The garlic sauce is probably my favourite that I’ve tried so far - very strong garlic flavour and super creamy. The chips are seasoned well with chicken salt and everything pairs well together. The only downside is the chicken is a bit on the drier side but it’s still pretty decent. Also the fattoush salad here is drenched in sauce and quite flavourful would recommend.
Food here is great, there's a wide range of food available. I love their chips and garlic sauce. Very nice and simple decor. Very popular among locals.
The first I discovered garlic dip! Had this takeaway and it’s just yum! Chicken taste good, the garlic dip tastes good, the fattoush was better than expected! My main gripe is the garlic dip comes in a really small container!
My favourite charcoal chicken place at the moment! The food is always so fresh because they are non stop busy. My favourite go to order is the 1/4 chicken, chips, can of drink and garlic sauce. The chicken is tender, juicy and has a good hit of flavour. The chips are well seasoned. But the star of the show is the garlic sauce. I just can't get enough! A decent sized feed for around $10, really can't complain.
Finally got a chance to try this famous chooks! Bought take away whole chooks with large chips (it already included 2 garlic sauce) on the way home to Wollongong. For me and hubby, chooks was nice, its taste similar with Indonesian roasted chicken maybe because it was roasted in charcoal. And i like the garlic sauce too! It was creamy and very best to have this with the chooks and chips even my hubby said it was so garlicky but i dont care i love it. It’s cheap too for all the food cost me $19.50. Would absolutely come back but i dont know when since the place is faaarrr away from me.
El jannah never disappoints. Super fresh charcoal chicken, you can even see them cook 30+ chickens at the same time. Chips are delicious as always with the perfectly balanced garlic sauce. Pickles and tabouli are a nice touch when you wrap everything up in Leb bread!
Best charcoal chicken around. Perfectly grilled marinated chicken and the garlic sauce....perfect! Punchbowl El Jannah is always a go to. Recommend eating in to get your moneys worth.
I can be so addicted to this place (but not too addicted because I can get sick of it). Best dips ever! That smooth hommous and garlic sauce with the charcoal chicken and tabouli and Lebanese bread is just amazing. Best eaten on premises rather than outside as the chicken is way more fresh. Combine all with chips YAS
I wouldn’t order the beef shawarma as it was too dry. Perhaps it’s not a popular dish to choose but my friend wanted to try it

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Sydney. I wish they would open shop here in Melbourne. The charcoal chicken is cooked perfectly with a bit of char on the outside. The thick cut chips are soft in the inside and crispy on the outside. How I would eat it is, I would tear the Lebanese bread into quarters. With the one quarter, I would spread garlic sauce all over it and fill it up with tabouli, a bit of the chips, chicken and I roll it up. I’m drooling just thinking of it. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Its always a satisfying meal at El Jannah. Efficient service and yummy charcoal chicken, chips and garlic sauce. We always get a tabouleh salad side which balances out the grease.
Delicious charcoal chicken and tawouk wrap, but take it easy on the chicken salt!! Less is more...
Also the restaurant is always packed and sometimes takes a while to get a table.
If you want to experience the best tasting charcoal chicken in Sydney then El Jannah is your place! This place is to die for and many people flock around Sydney to grab a bite. With queues lining outside the joint and the aroma of charcoal, El Jannah with satisfy your tastebuds. Garlic sauce, pickles and their chips, El Jannah will be a hit with your friends and family!
Service is fast, tasty chicken and amazing garlic sauce, they do a good job doesn’t matter which branch you go to. Half a chicken is good size to go with.
The chicken is the best from Punchbowl, I’ve been coming here for the past year and the chicken is always freshly cooked! If you eat in they give you garlic sauce, pickles and bread as part of the eat in price!
Finally got to try this infamous restaurant. It is known for its cheap and satisfying feeds. I loved the garlic sauce and the hommus paired with the pita bread. Would definitely be back 👍
Premium charcoal chicken store. Other less well known charcoal chicken stores serve better garlic sauce. My boyfriend loves it so much, he makes weekly visits.
Craved for chicken and decided to go to this really famous chicken place. The place was fully packed but the food came out really quick so the traffic flow was really fast. The takeaway and eat in price was so different. The take away price was wayyy cheaper so my tips it too eat takeaway rather than dine in if you want to safe money.
EJ's is the place to go if you want value for money. You can feed a whole family and still have left overs. The chicken is always moist and tender with the perfect charred flavour. The pickles and garlic sauce are a heavenly combo with the chicken. EJ's has definitely improved over the years because their breast meats are no longer as dry, and their garlic sauce is no longer as salty.
What you see is what you get, and you'll never be disappointed at EJ's. It's the perfect place for small and large groups that just want to eat good, hearty, rustic food without hurting their wallets.
We drove out here upon good recommendation for chicken! Ordered a snack box with chips and chicken salt, a quarter chicken and garlic sauce. Chicken was juicy and pretty good garlic sauce.
Enjoyed lunch here today. We got the EJ platter with 3 chicken skewers. It came with a choice of hummus or babaganoush, garlic sauce, chips and bread.
The platter was generous and delicious. Chips yum. Chicken moist and garlic sauce creamy and yum. Not the burn your mouth type garlic sauce.
Only thing missing on the platter for me was salad. I could have ordered it but couldn't be bothered. Very easily shared amongst two. Definitely a delicious place to eat.
Amazing combination of flavours, everything just works well together. Chicken is so moist even the breast was juicy. The garlic sauce is the highlight of the place. I found the pickles a little too salty for me.

Last night we had dinner At fernandos. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it. Specially calamari was fabulous. Definitely we'll be back.
I wish there was an El Jannah in every suburb! I can only compare this to the Campbelltown store since I haven't been to any others - the food consistency is the same and as always, I recommend the pickles and the garlic sauce.
El Jannah's is a popular charcoal chicken joint and for good reason! They deliver quality food at amazing prices, especially the meal deals. Ordering for a family, we opted for the Family Meal, with an extra medium tabbouleh and naan bread coming to a total of $39. In all, it was an incredibly filling meal and we were well satisfied. We definitely recommend coming here and make sure to always get the garlic sauce!
Never disappointed with the delicious chips, chicken and the incredible garlic sauce. The best garlic sauce I've tasted. I recommend anyone go down to El Jannah if you're in Sydney.
Best chicken, garlic sauce, fatoush, chicken wrap and chips!!!!!
It's all about the chicken gloriously charred over coals at this joint, you can smell it from the street. It's great accessible food and it gets packed out. Well worth a visit. If there was one close to my home id be there on the regular fo SHO .

Been to El Jannah numerous times and their chicken never disappoints! Line may be long on weekends, but it is well worth the wait! The charcoal chicken is to die for and the garlic sauce is amazing. Friendly service may be the only thing lacking.
Absolutely love their chicken with the infamous garlic sauce! It's to die for!!! The pickles are interesting, but honestly the garlic sauce is the best!!!!!

If you love charcoal chicken, then this is the place to be! So many charcoal chicken places have come and gone, but el-jannah still remains. I always love coming here with a group of friends and with the restaurant being so busy most nights, you can always bet that you'll have a freshly grilled chicken in front of you. Although they are famous for their chicken, their garlic sauce is definitely the magic ingredient for making it more awesome!

Everyone has an opinion about which spot produces the best charcoal chicken; so I know I’m going out on a limb when I declare: it’d be hard to beat Punchbowl’s El Jannah. This busy outlet opened in 2009 as part of a family-run business that first began in Granville back in 1998.What I can say for sure is El Jannah make the best garlic sauce (toum) I’ve tried. It's fluffy and creamy, and it’s a must to apply it liberally to their moist charcoal chook. The chicken is marinated in a secret blend that includes lots of lemon, salt, oil and vinegar. Of course the only way to argue with me is going to try this one yourself – a Half Chicken ($10.50) is yours for just over a tenner, arranged on a plate with sharp pickles and toum. Save time and ask for a takeaway container of Garlic Sauce ($3.50) when you order your chicken… you’ll thank me for it. While you’re in the neighbourhood, a few streets away (well technically in Mount Lewis) you’ll find
OK I used to LOVE this charcoal chicken joint. I think the one in Granville is better but this is still nice.
I love the crispiness of the chicken skin and tender meat. The garlic aioli is to die for.
The reason for the 3.5 is because the ambience isn't that great and I think Granville is better. Plus somehow it lost it's WOW factor for me as I grow older and go back there.
I still enjoy it though for some great, tasty, local food.
The food is always delicious here. I love the traditional coal fired meats and the dips and pickles that compliment it. If I had one gripe it's that people were allowed to smoke outside and it would often waft in when the door was opened. Definitely worth a try.

For me hands down the best Middle Eastern style chicken shop in town !
This place just does all the small thing right and the end result is massive lines waiting to get hands on this divine chicken
Now im hungry just writing this up again.....
Yummy!! Always a good experience at this outlet of el jannah. Moist chicken, love the pickles, garlic sauce and fresh bread. Fatoush, tabouli, babaganoush, hummus and chips all really good.
Punchbowl is a fun suburb to explore – tucked away but filled with delicious delights. One of these is my all-time favourite chicken shop El Jannah. They do in fact have multiple stores, but this is my closest and weekly haunt. There is always a huge crowd here, but don't be deterred! Service is always extremely quick and its worth waiting for!
Has one of the best garlic sauce i ever had, well i only had 5 different places and most are either too harsh in garlic or very faint in garlic but EJ has the best. The chicken is quiet normal and sometimes has extra burnt bits.
While I have to agree the chicken isn't anything to write home about, we all know why we go here. The garlic sauce. The garlic sauce slathered in bread and pickles. Worth the heart clog, amazing!
Ridiculously good chicken, garlic sauce was great too! A platter of 1/4 chicken, garlic sauce, pickles and bread for $7 is an amazing price for such good quality food. Except the pickles have way too much salt in them, and the wraps do also! But other than that it's worth a visit if in the area!
Food is excellent every time although they are a bit slow on customer service and I hate the fact there's no eftpos! Food wise I love their fattoush it's a must try!!$
Can I just start off by saying, I am in LOVE with garlic sauce. El Jannah's garlic sauce is hands down the best garlic sauce from all the other charcoal chicken places I have tried. The charcoal chicken is so succulent and juicy.
El Jannah and Charcoal Chicken, two words which make me drool just thinking about it. See that crispy chicken right up there?, it’s the juiciest and most delicious piece of chicken I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating in my life. I believe El Jannah is probably something of a legend in Sydney since pretty much everyone has heard of them (and their garlic sauce, more on that later). Since I hadn’t visited for my fix in so long I decided to get a box of takeaway to take home with Miss K, the chicken surprisingly holds up really well in takeaway packaging and is just as juicy and full of flavour as if I just bought it. Falafel I don’t usually order falafel but since I didn’t think the chicken and chips alone would fill me up I decided to grab these, quite good in my opinion and would definitely order them again since they seem a bit healthier than chips and I actually love chickpeas anyway Hot Chips with Chicken Salt I can’t say much about chips, but these are some of the better hot chips

The chicken is succulent and juicy, but the best part is the skin - smoky and tasting almost like a bitter toffee in places, with that glorious residue of powdery charcoal staining your fingers. Oh baby.
Love the garlic sauce. Garlic sauce + chicken is the best, I get some takeaway from here on the way to uni and the food is just wonderful.
Charcoal chicken. Popular spot, fast food at its best, charcoal chicken is full of flavour and tender, and the burnt skin bits are some of my favourite parts. It comes no less with a side of pickles, lebanese bread and THAT garlic sauce, which sure packs a punch. No frills sort of place, the food comes out almost as soon as you order it, for two people we had a whole chicken and some tabouleh, left pleasantly full for only $25 for two!! bargain, hits the spot, though they are quite heavy handed with the salt, so make sure to have that water on standby
Best chicken, best rice. My partner loved the chicken and I loved the rice. Such lovely flavours and such generous portions. My partner could not stop talking about the chicken for the whole trip.
Best Charcoal Chicken. Already reviewed this place before.
Fantastic food! Excellent value for money, they do not skimp on anything! Chips are always perfectly fried, and garlic sauce is to die for!
Garlic sauce is the winner. Trooped out to Punchbowl. 6.30pm on a Saturday night and there's 10 people in front of me in the queue and no tables free. Takeaway is cheaper so got 1/4 chicken meal and felafel. The meal has a tiny little tub of garlic sauce which is no where near enough as the garlic sauce is truly supreme. To be honest I'm not a big fan of charcoal chicken but eating the chips with the sauce on the train home was good enough. If you're arriving by train, don't go out the "Boulevard" exit - go out the other one and navigate the busy road.
AMAZING!!!. Portions are HUGE! Garlic sauce, pickles and bread are plentiful and delicious, tabouli is the best I've ever had. Two quarter chickens plus large tabouli plus small chips and a drink set's us back about $25 which is amazing. Eat like a king for nothing. Wish there was an El Jannah closer to the city, but so worth the trek to Bankstown.
Easily the best garlic sauce and chicken place around, don't bother with the others, come straight here
This place is unbelievable. If you've never been here you need to ASAP. Best food!
