Lo and behold, the Mixed Platter ($21). This seriously had it all – grilled chicken, kofta, lamb shish kebab, falafel, and kibbeh, accompanied by generous amounts of tabouli, hummus, and baba ganouj. Although there was nothing that specifically stood out on the platter, everything was definitely up to scratch, making for a wonderfully satisfying meal. My top tip? Smash up the crispy falafel and stuff it into a pita, along with toum, pickles, and tabouli – it rivals any kebab for flavour.
This whole table only costs me $29 OMG!! My bf and I were so full that we have some leftovers for take away. The pickles, bread, chilli and garlic sauces are complimentary.
Definitely worth exploring this local restaurant :)

You can never go wrong with a mix plate. I'm not too much of a fan of the kafta but the other cube meat is good and so is the chicken. Who can say no to the garlic dip! Unless you're on a first date lol
It can get busy and LOUD.
This place serves a true representation of Lebanese cuisine. From its mixed shawarma to dips like hummus and baba ghannouj, it’s flavoursome food is to die for!
I love the seating and how big and clean the restaurant is. When you walk in you get this fresh feeling and it’s very comforting.
I have tried almost everything on the menu at Jasmin1 Punchbowl and it never fails to amaze me.
For breakfast I recommend the Fatteh and Foul dishes. For lunch/dinner I recommend the mixed plate and sambousek.
Have been an occasional visitor here for many years. This place offers decent quality food at a reasonable price. In all that time I think my only negative food quality experience was a basket of stale bread given to me on one occasion. The shish kebab and kebbeh nayeh (raw lamb mince dish) are offered in a slightly more generous portion than most other Lebanese restaurants I've tried but without extra cost. You can easily pay more for less elsewhere.
Patronage varies but if you want a quiet experience the best time to visit is probably early in the week. On all days peak hour seems to be between 7 and 8.30 pm. When it gets busy, the waiters start to lose the plot, and sometimes the restaurant fills up completely. I have seen people walk out after not being served, and have nearly done it myself.
One other point of irritation is the table cleaning practices of the wait staff. They spray strong-scented cleaning product on the table and wipe up, which I find quite disturbing while seated at an adjacent table as the smell interferes with the flavour of my own food, and it seems the mist from the spray bottles strays across the room. I have also seen this at other Lebanese restaurants. This is another reason to avoid peak hour.
Otherwise, it's a good choice.
The good:
- value
- food consistently decent
- generous portions
- EFTPOS accepted
The not so good:
- waiters struggle when busy
- gets very noisy when busy
- stray cleaning mist
So goood !! Ordered a bunched of mixed plates with different meats and some hot chips. As soon as the food came, things got exciting on the table with everyone grabbing their own things to put in their wraps. Everything was pretty tasty, seasoned well, with their garlic sauce being addictive as usual. Food came quick and price was pretty cheap! Recommend to come with a bunch of friends. Would come here more often if I could :P
Food was very good, generous portions, price was on point in comparison to the food you recieve. Staff met the standards of good customer service.
Jasmin1 at punchbowl is always on point. The food here is flavoursome and it's super cheap! I usually order the mix plate and some fattoush to share with the mrs. The falafels are crispy and tasty. Highly recommend it. However it can get a bit packed depending on what time you go.

Looking for a cheap feed that'll suit the vegetarians, meat eaters and carb avoiders in your life? Jasmin1 ticks every box. Deliciously. No wonder this Lebanese restaurant has been a longtime favourite with locals, as well as those happy to travel for good food.
Jasmin 1 at Punchbowl offers authentic style Lebanese food at affordable prices. The standard mixed plate gives you a wide selection of meats, dips, sides and a very tasty tabouli. Don't expect a flashy interior or romantic dinner, instead enjoy a tasty meal that doesn't skimp on anything from complimentary condiments, Lebanese bread, garlic and chilli dips! However, they have lost a few points given the mixed plate is served on a single flat plate and my tabouli ended up mixing with the humus and baba-ganoush (mashed eggplant) which wasn't ideal. In fact, the standard plate is too small for the large serving so perhaps an upgrade to the crockery can do the trick (see image below). Access to the rear toilet was also a bother so that shaved off a few points. All in all the staff were prompt and pleasant to deal with so definitely recommend Jasmin 1.
Fresh, authentic Lebanese food! The breakfast is a must try...amazing and freshly made to order 👍🏻 prices are affordable and staff are very helpful. Visiting from Dubai and happy to recommend to all ☺️
Authentic Lebanese food, very reasonable prices for the amount of food you receive. Highly recommend the vegetarian platter and for ordering take away
Love this place. We always get takeaway on the way back from Canberra or Southern Highlands. Fantastic humus and garlic dip. Great meats, wonderful flavours and great value for money.
Life is not easy when your bf is a self-professed Wog stuck in a Chinaman's body. The boy absolutely loves his Middle eastern cuisines and has subsequently developed an affinity for the culture. Unfortunately for him, I am not big on grilled meats and seldom agree to dine with him. On this occasion however, I fell victim to his pleads and off we went all the way to Bankstown.
The local favourite has relocated upstairs (of the original store) in the function centre and upon arrival I had a certain sense of dread that we had unknowingly walked in on the beginnings of a wedding reception. The wide dining room lined with monochrome tables and bright white fluorescents was deathly silent with each table set up with plates, cutlery and a bottle of tap water.
Service was generally curt and unobtrusive but slightly inattentive as the restaurant began to fill up. The menu was comprehensive and selection was made easy with images of each dish next to their applicable names, accompanied by a short description. Extremely user friendly for first-timers or those new to the cuisine.
Ordered the chicken shawarma (Avengers post credit scene anyone?) which was not only fun to pronounce but amazingly succulent and lip smackingly delicious. Shaved chicken pieces had a decent char for bite but remained moist and was flavoursome enough not to throw out your blood pressure with excessive sodium.
Second choice was the ever popular mix plate which contained falafel, hummus, baba ghannouj, grilled chicken, koffta, lamb tawook and my Mr's absolute favourite... Tabouli. The falafel, with a mouth shattering crunch and a fluffy centre, was definitely one of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately I was not a big fan of much else on this plate.
Turns out the Lebanese are nothing if not hospitable, with each table supplied a complimentary bag of leb bread, garlic sauce, chilli oil and what appears to be radioactive pickles. Servings are incredibly generous with $30 potentially rendering 2 people comatose right there in the restaurant.
When the bf was given the duty of securing drinks, he returned with what seemed to be sweet herbal tea that was self-served from a giant steel boiler. When I ignorantly attempted to pay for the tea at the end of the night, the waitress gave me such a surprised and confused expression my heart sank to my feet thinking I had done it.. I had unknowingly drank dirty dish water. Luckily as it turned out, the sweet cinnamon tea was free.
This is just a diner that keeps on giving! Guess I'll just have to assimilate and agree to go on more date nights with my closet habibi.
One of my favourite Lebanese restaurants in the Bankstown/Punchbowl area which is almost one of the most popular and well known. The food here is seriously good value and very filling. Up there as one of the best with my other favourite, Al Aseel.
So the aim is to make your own mini wrap with all the fillings (eggplant, falafel etc) from your mixed plate dips etc included with pickles.
One of my favourite restaurants that I discovered this year hasn't got any hats and they don't have degustation menus either. Instead, it is a Lebanese restaurant that serves generous servings of great food with a smile. I first visited this restaurant after a recommendation from one of the boyfriend's colleagues. It was an instant hit with all of my friends. The food is cheap, the interior is well decorated and the locals go there, it MUS
Amazing. Normally, I don't venture past my favourite Italian restaurant and my pasta. This time, though, a lebanese friend insisted that this place had amazing lebanese food and so I took her word for it. I'm glad I did! The food here is incredible. The servings were generous so I had enough to take for work today and this has been my happiest lunch hour since forever. I rate it an 8/10, maybe even an 8.5/10.
Authentic good value and tasty middle eastern food amidst extremely modest decor. Highly recommend if in area.
Best Mixed plate in Sydney. I'd have to say this is the best Mixed plate in Sydney, well worth making the visit..

The best Lebanese food I have ever had Very authentic, delicious and reasonably price. Don't bring alcohol.
Amazing food and worth every $. The staff were respectful, helpful and patient.
The food was amazing, fresh and perfect.
I was so tempted to go back the next day but I will definitely go back again when I'm in Sydney.
highly recommend the mix grill and that creamed garlic sauce which still makes my mouth water whenever I think of it.
Thanks to the Staff of Jasmin Rest.
FALAFELS!!!. For me, the best falafels i've had, SO FAR, in Sydney.
Tried other places that got good reviews and Jasmin's is still better.
The mixed plates i good value for money.
Dips here are very good as well. Babaganoush has a nice smokey flavour.
Staff are always friendly and food comes out pretty quick.

Excellent food, dine in, dine out and take away available. Best food in town.
Excellent value. Food has been consistently satisfying over the years like the Bankstown Jasmin 1.
Wish there is an option to ask for pine nuts with extra cost like they used to have.
I’ve been ordering takeaway from Jasmine’s from well before Covid. The food is delicious, affordable and consistent. If you haven’t been here before I highly recommend a visit or grabbing some take away.
Be sure to try their mixed plate for some grilled meats before exploring the rest of their fantastic menu!
An easy goto restaurant to taste the real lebanese food. Various menu is served with delicious meat and sauces. Don't forget to include chicken shawarma in your order.
Our family has been dining here for the last decade, from since when it was Jasmin1 then Al Yasmin. Our go to order for our family of 4 is a mixed plate, large chips, vine leaves and falafel (always crispy) which is more than enough to make us full and still have some leftovers to take away. Service can sometimes be hit and miss depending on how busy they are but the food is always excellent and good value for money. Good place for group gatherings as they can accommodate large groups.
Everything was fresh and so delicious, really really loved it.
First time, came on a Sunday Lunch. Great Food and Service. Will be Back!
what is everyone expecting from the place, Red carpet!
LOVE this place! It looks very small from the outside, but is a decent sized restaurant with a very family-friendly vibe. The tables were spotless, with condiments on each and pickles, bread and sauces were plentiful. We ordered a large selection of sides and salads as well as a mixed plate. I have no criticism, everything came out fast and was super fresh and well seasoned. The toum, tabouli, fattoush and kibbe are easily some of the best we’ve had in Sydney. We don’t have anything this good in our area, but for us Al Yasmin is definitely worth the travel.
