Review Corner 75 Hungarian Restaurant - Randwick

A really nice experience. The waiters were friendly and attentive. We started off with the Hungarian garlic bread which was divine. The stuffed mushrooms were good, and the veal goulash was tasty. The corner 75 schnitzel was also quite tasty. We were devastated that the apple strudel had run out for the night, but the cherry strudel was brilliant. Would've liked the pastry to be a bit more crispy though. The jam and walnut crepe was nice too but just a bit too sweet for me. The owner was very caring and friendly and the decor was beautifully cozy and traditional. We'd definitely come back!

This place is so good. Recommend the crispy skin duck and their schnitzels. Definitely get their garlic bread and the cucumber salad is great too. Really friendly family owned restaurant with authentic Hungarian food.

Great food & service. Very popular Hungarian restaurant, so bookings are highly recommended. Thank you to Paul & his team for always fitting us in on a busy night when we forget to make a reservation 🙈 The Langosh and Chicken Schnitzel are delicious!

Very delicious food and friendly customer service. I had the roast duck with mash potato it was lovely as the duck wasn’t dry. I also tried the chicken snitzel. It was perfectly made as the chicken wasn’t too thick nice and thin and the crumbs was delicious and not burnt just golden brown. I loved the dessert. I had crepes with apple and cinnamon and ice cream ! The waitress always had a smile and very welcoming. I would recommend to visit the place :)

Our new favourite restaurant in Sydney. We had the most wonderful time with Paul, Anita, Sophia - the food was incredible, the service was even more incredible and we felt like we made friends for life after just one meal. We can’t wait to come back!! Highly recommend.

Amazing authentic experience. Soulful and absolutely delicious food. The best friendly welcoming atmosphere and owners! The energy of the place is so good! Absolutely mouth watering starters (we had mushrooms and lecho), delicious mains (we had duckling and goulash ) and the best apple strudel EVER - the flavours were something truly special 🥰 Thank you for an amazing night! Highly recommend to everyone. Will definitely be back. ❤️❤️❤️

What a pleasant surprise was this! Small, cozy and interiors taking you back to the Hungarian cafes in Budapest and around. We ordered the garlic bread, goulash soup, chicken crepe, roasted duck and veal goulash. And not one thing disappointed. If you need something comforting, definitely try the garlic bread and goulash soup they were absolutely to die for. The service was super friendly! Will definitely go back.

Fantastic traditional Hungarian food. Very attentive, efficient, friendly and informative waitstaff. The decor feels homely and very "Hungarian" without being chintzy or gimmicky. An impeccable dining experience which has obviously been honed over time by the owners into a seamless, enjoyable occasion. Don't eat for 24 hours before you go as the servings are large, tasty and designed for a 'winter dinner'. Lovely place run by lovely people.

Friendly staff and great atmosphere/decor. The menu is quite simple and the food is okay. Seems like a regular spot for locals. Might consider visiting again.

Always a joy to dine in this very delightful restaurant.
The owner is a true and real person. The staff are extremely pleasant and attentive but not intrusive.
Food is always delectable.

Dinner was lovely and reminded me of home style food from growing up (no, I'm not from a Hungarian background but regularly had paprika chicken and stroganoff etc). Food is heavy cream based as you should expect from that sort of thing, so don't go expecting diet food. The restaurant is kinda' older style but that's cool anyway. Check out the photo collection. The service is wonderful, the waiter was fun and friendly, the owner was present, engaged and lovely. Recommended.

Hungarian restaurants aren't very common in Sydney which is one of the reasons why Corner 75 has established such a great reputation over the years. The other reason is the wonderful food of course.
Hearty and homely traditional Hungarian fare probably sums up the offerings here. That said, why a couple of the dishes may not technically be traditional Hungarian food, it's easy to see the influence. I first visited with a Hungarian family member who helped with some of the menu items. However I've been back several times without the inside knowledge and have managed to order a range of wonderful dishes under the guidance of the knowledgeable and welcoming floor staff. Be sure to give some of the Hungarian red wine a try if it's in stock (the "bull's blood"), it's a good table wine and fits the theme nicely.
Whilst I think the style of this food suits winter weather perfectly, it could be adaptable to warmer weather also, so whatever time of the year give Corner 75 a try for something a little different minus the gimmicks.

Their duck and veal knuckle were the best dishes of the day and I strongly recommend those two. They were incredibly yummy and big. However, I was pretty content with the rest of the dishes. My Hungarian friend pointed out that those two are not ‘Authentic’ Hungarian. The brassoi and lecho were as close as you can get from the ‘real Hungarian cuisine. a 7 out of 10!

Suitably stuffed we made our way home in the rain thinking maybe winter won't be too bad after all as we'll get to eat at Corner 75 again soon.

Magyar food. Absolutely loved my dinning experince at the restaurant.
the parika chicken was a true hugarian dish with homade button noddles and a side of cumber salad is another hungarian favorite. the service was great and rhe atmosphere felt of budpest.

Delicious food in a cozy setting. Let me begin with my only complaint about this restaurant; it's much too crowded and noisy. Nevertheless, the food is superb and the dĂŠcor is excellent. A myriad of Hungarian maps, photos and other cultural adornments decorate every patch of the beautiful dining room.

Overall pleased with our dining experience. We had the goulash, lecho frankfurter, garlic bread, and the gipsy roast. Good!

Awesome food, crispy duck and veal lecho were great, though a bit more side would have been great as the meat was huge. Prices and service are ok as well. Recommended.

Top schnitzel. Corner 75 is renowned for its schnitzels but we decided to have most of everything on the menu. In group dining, once you ignore the schnitzels, there isn't much exciting to choose from which is a shame as the cuisine in Budapest is outstanding.
Try the cherry soup, the savoury crepes, the duck and of course the schnitzels. The goulash wasn't bad, but some of the other meat dishes fell short of expectation.
I thought the setting was rather cramped for group dining but corkage is reasonable.
Overall, the menu was, I think, semi-aussified (sweet-chilli prawns??) with the occasional gem. I would dearly like to see this restaurant dust off its treasures and give a real Hungarian banquet.

If you eat here, go in winter on a Friday or Saturday and have their goulash. That's safe. Unfortunately, last Friday we went there and had the duck and the pork leg. Both were dried out leftovers from the night before. It's also a little over priced.

At least we tried it.... My husband and I dined here with another couple on 20th Sept. Three out of the four entees ordered were ok and all came out pretty quick. I had the Matza dumpling soup which was very tasty. The soup was flavoursome and the dumplings were nice and light and not too stodgy. My husband ordered the crumbed mushrooms and was disapointed. For $8.50 he received 3 crumbed mushrooms. Now if they were 3 huge portobello mushrooms, fair enough. But they weren't. They were 3 average sized button mushies with a tiny bit of mayonnaise and wedge of tomato and sprig of parsley for garnish. Mains ordered were 2x veal goulash, veal scallopini and veal with sauteed potatoes. The meat components of the dishes were all pretty good, but we weren't to sure what the white macaroni looking/tasting thing was. We were then asked if we wanted dessert and were given menus. But after waiting more than 20 minutes to have our order taken and looking around to find the staff standing around having a chat, we decided to pass instead. Overall, the food was ok, but not enough to want to go back. The service was definately not the welcoming service I've read in other reviews. We decided to try Corner 75 for Hungarian food and something different, but we'll be sticking with Una's/Essen at Broadway for some hearty European food, that's great value for money and good service too.

Great service, delicious home cooked food with some very unique dishes along with more common ones, and great desserts. I've lost count of how many times I've been here and how many people I've brought along, and everybody I've taken has been back a few times. Highly reccomended, especially if your looking for something a bit different, or just want some simple home cooked, and very tasty food.
