Review Sushi Inn Japanese Restaurant - Randwick

Andreea Amarinei
Been here plenty of times and enjoyed the sushi train. Decided to try their warm food recently and was quite disappointed. For around $15 the don comes with just meat and rice, no veggies or anything on the side. The salmon don had pieces of just salmon skin included. The karaage soba was ok but nothing special. Small bit of veggies but otherwise quite plain. I probably won't be trying their warm dishes again, and just stick to their sushi train. The staff has always been nice when we've visited though.

Exquisite food, excellent friendly service, very fair prices. I would highly recommend the Mochi and the pork ramen. Will visit again if I am ever in town. Very satisfying for a quick snack or a evening meal.

Great Japanese place! Their sushi train is good but their meals are delicious.

Pretty standard sushi/Japanese restaurant. Stick to the sushi imo and if you'd like a hot dish get it as a side. Stay away from the dons, it's pretty cheap at $10.5. But all you get is the meat, A LOT of rice and shallots for garnish. The karage don had a Yuzu type sauce that I couldn't really taste. It made a pretty dry eating experience and was hard to digest after. I'd love to see a chilli mayo sauce and some salad/greens with the don and less rice. But it is filling. You can get miso and small salad for an additional $2. But then I'd just recommend ordering the $15.5 bentos. The salmon teriyaki don was pretty disappointing, it was mostly salmon skin and very salty. It would have been nice to have something to neutralize the saltiness other than rice. I like this place, it used to be my go to in the area. But sushi train has recently upped their game. They just have more variety and creative sushi. Sushi inn needs a refresh imo to change it up.

Really good, fresh, tasty food. Very reasonably priced with beers only $6.50. The duck skin sushi is very nice. The staff are very friendly. Will come back again soon.

Highly recommend the Japanese Curry w/ Karaage Chicken! You get quite a lot for only $13.50 and the curry is peppery and full of flavour. Chicken is juicy and the crispy skin is amazing. Wait was quite long though but if you have time, it's worth it.

If you’d like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

We came here on a Tuesday night and they had a special going on (all sushi’s were $3.50 apart from the gold plates). Ended up ordering so many different ones- from scallops to soft shell crab to tuna to seaweed salad to fried chicken to salmon etc. Great range of all kinds of sushi for a great price.

Delicious sushi every time. Ordered takeaway and my sushi was made fresh and it was fantastic. Have previously ordered takeaway and given sushi from the train which was a bit dry but when made fresh it's delicious.

Nice waitress and nice decor. The food is not inspiring. Slightly better than the takeaway sushi stands in the shopping centre nearby, but do not expect much from it.

I like sushi and sashimi but I think the other locations in Randwick are preferred (sushi fusion or sushi train). Here there is lots of variety but just doesn't seem as fresh. I would suggest if you go, order fresh. Attendants are nice and good service though.

I had a hankering for some sashimi & popped into Sushi Inn & was pleasantly surprised. Fresh plates were coming out really quickly & there was ample selection, even though I was devouring most of the fresh plates. Really friendly staff made for a really affordable quick meal. I look forward to heading back soon. Love It !

Came in for quick lunch, ordered tuna, prawn, tofu nigiri with miso soup. Miso had strong flavor but was bit salty also I found nigiri has way too much rice on them. I especially didn't like Tuna one, it was massive and it had kind of funny taste which I can't really pin point what it is.

A surprising gem in Randwick serving up tasty Japanese food at decent value. The large sashimi platter had fresh, thick slices of tuna, salmon and scallops. We also enjoyed the sushi which had good rice to topping ratio. Memorable ones were the duck sushi, the tuna avocado special topped with tempura bits and the classic seared scallops. They do a roaring trade in takeaway with only about 2 proper tables (in addition to the seats at the sushi train)

Very bad japanese food.... The sushi tastes like it's been frozon. The ramen is instant. The fried food is oily. If you like authentic Japanese food keep well away.

Good food ....and $6 Japanese beers !. The duck n coriander rolls are amazing....and everything else was good too. Loved the deep fried oysters...really like the $6 bottles of Kirin and asahi.

The ramen! I liked the ramen and especially the soup. It didn't have as much as other ramen places I've been to but it was just enough for me. The soup was delicious, not too salty and with a deep pork stock flavour. The egg was soft boiled (my favourite!) and soaked in the soup so it presented as a nice little side on its own.

We went here tonight for 'all you can eat' sushi after purchasing a voucher on Groupon. Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Very good variety of plates and all very fresh. Would definitely come back even without a voucher.

Amazing Sushi. Having tried a few sushi spots this one comes up top for me and luckily it is so close by!

Amazing selection of sushi and friendly staff make it a pleasant experience. Small but intimate.

Choice of sushi is amazing with so many dishes I have yet to try them all yet. Although not as cheap as other sushi spots it makes up for it with a great selection and well prepared food.

Tty everything a personal favourite has to be a side order of the spicy squid and the spicy tuna rolls.

A True Hidden Place. I have happen to drop by this restaurant in Randwick .
Price on sushi train was not cheap but lots of creation , hot food ready to order and other many traditional Japanese food serve at reasonable price and dinner time is not too crauded .
I am Japanese but seems me most of customer there was local people .

Quality of food is one of the best in Sydney and friendly service . I will go back with my friend again and again with my friends for sure .

Thay are 7 days open and near shopping centre offer 2 hour free parking is also good .

Great restaurant. Top quality and relatively cheap. They also don't mind varying items on the menu for you. Hot food ready made, no need to grab it cold off the train like at other places.

Great place! It's lovely! Great staff, attentive and always friendly. The train is the only decent one I've found in the eastern suburbs. They liven up the sushi train with exquisite new creations. 5 stars.
