Delicious food, excellent prices and lovely staff. Spring rolls, honey chicken and fried ice cream were 10/10 !!

Absolutely amazing! Best Chinese food I have ever had. Staff were lovely. Very kind and accomodating. If I got give 6 stars I would. Out of this world. 10/10 must try!

I’ve never written a review before, and after eating here I went through the whole change my password process just so I could. We ordered five dishes, and were so excited, but each dish kept disappointing. The sauces on each dish were non existent. The boneless ribs were dry and tasteless. Not one dish had a redeeming quality. Every single one was bland. Sweet and sour pork should be been labeled pork. I’m not normally fussy, my boyfriend and I grew up eating small country town Chinese - and this food makes small country town Chinese deserving of a Michelin star. Do NOT waste your money here.

Place has a cozy peaceful vibe. Reminds me of some chinese places we miss back in Malaysia. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was very delicious and affordable. Appreciated the complimentary jelly dessert and kids drink for our young daughter.

Cosy vibes, relax atmosphere. I always come here for my work lunch. They have lunch specials menu for $10. My favourite are Sweet & Sour Pork with rice, Fish Fillet with Cream corn sauce, Chicken & Pineapple Fried rice, Fried Hokkien noodle with XO Chilli sauce & Combination Noodle soup

I had a dine in experience. Food was terrible. Not coming again. Meat was inedible and seasoned awfully. It is not even remotely comparable to Hong Kong food. Owner was nice, but that doesn't make up for the terrible food, I'm sorry.

The fish at Choy's is amazing particularly. The traffic light drink (pictured) and other cute things like the rainbow jelly egg are treasured childhood menu items from my partners childhood. This restaurant has been here for 45 years, it is an institution! Bill is a wonderful businessman and a kind community member.

Probably the blandest Chinese I've ever had. The steamed dim sims were ok. The honey chicken barely tasted of honey & while the satay beef, had the right flavours it was so diluted. Even the fried rice was bland. Quality of the food was decent it just lacked flavour !

Seem like a secret tiny restaurant with hidden menus and private wines. Full Cantonese style, both interior decorations and background music. Tasty food and a surprise after-dinner dessert.

Like a secret tiny restaurant that belongs to the town in Kung Fu Panda movie. We have been served with Chinese tea and chicken soup before the dinner, daily special chinese dessert (or soup) after the dinner. All these freebies nicely complete entire eating experience, which is quite rare in sydney region, especially at this price level. And, it's alway fast. So surprised and highly recommended!

Been here many times now and the food is always good and consistent. The owner is just lovely and always gives the best complimentary desserts. It may not be a seafood restaurant but their fish is always steamed to perfection. Will keep coming back here.

先说明我的评分标准:
5分完美,值得绕路过去,区域top1;
4分为本区域内值得一吃;
3分为平日路过可以吃;
2分为不讨我喜欢的店,感觉差;

I was really attracted by the decoration of Choys. Some might say it's dim and dark, but to me it's more authentic for HK style restaurants to be dim. The dishes were great. It's worthwhile to mention the desert after the meal, the egg-like jelly'n'melon does give surprises.

Ive eaten here a few times over the years and the foods always been pretty on point, but my last experience will be my last. After ordering honey chicken and peking spare ribs we awaited the arrival of the food after serving out two portions i take my first bite to find a chunk of glass or some really hard plastic so i called asking for a refund which was meet with harsh tones from the owner who was in denial. He came to the house and after answering the door let himself into the home and proceeded to yell and argue that im some kind of lier ( now this is my first review most places would have fixed this problem quickly i actually am that anger about this meeting that ive decided to share the experience) . After showing the owner the sharp chunk he refused ownership, screaming at me. I proceeded to ask for a refund as i was not quick to go back to order more food i ended up getting the money after 5 minutes of arguing all of 14.50. Now im blacklisted which is find cause i like food without glass. My only wish is that i got a better photo of whats there

I have walked by Choys a number of times and after a year and a half in living in Randwick I decided to check it out.
There was about 6 of us and we were all greeted by friendly and eager to assist staff.
We had ordered quite a few various dishes, which were all satisfactory and everyone agreed nothing really stood out as spectacular. However I would like to make mention the That the stir fried mixed combination, Mongolian Lamb and the salt and pepper calamari were quite tasty.
There was still plenty of items on the menu which we didn't try so we will be giving it another go.
Mongolian Lamb Rice. This is a lunch special. Taste's not bad, but the serve is very little (compared to other lunch special). No veggies or whatsoever. End up being still hungry. Disappointed.

Simon Food Favourites review. Ordered a takeaway Fried Rice Deluxe, Szechuan Steak and Stir Fried Mixed Chinese Vegetable. All quite nice. Szechuan Steak probably doesn't travel the best as a takeaway but the quality of the meat was better than expected. Pickup service was efficient and friendly. Restaurant was probably about 3/4 full of customers.

Ask for the Chinese menu and you're in for a treat. If you order from the 'normal/Western' menu you won't understand why Choys is so good!

Awesome food and service. Their food is amazing - this is judged base on authentic Chinese dishes, NOT dishes like honey chicken or black bean beef.
The portion is large and the boss is very friendly, he offered us some amazing dishes that are not on the menu, also he has given us some secret dessert as well that you can never find anywhere else in the world!
It is definitely going to be one of my must-revisit restaurant in Sydney :)

Cheap and cheerful. Went last night despite all the bad reviews it had been given because in my experience the reviews can be wildly inaccurate. So glad I gave it a go. The staff are awesome greeting us with a smile and so helpful,friendly and super polite. The food came quickly and was extremely tasty and NO MSG which is always a bonus and the real surprise was the bill. $50 including corkage and that was for a shared starter, 2 mains and 2 sides and we had enough food left over to have fed a 3rd person. Awesome will definitely be back.

Crap. Food was soggy and flavorless. Took a few bites and just threw it out. Waste of 35$.

Do not bother..overpriced, soggy, tasteless, lukewarm. We picked up a takeaway, wasn't ready, so had to wait; you'd think the food would be piping hot/fresh. I had to reheat at home. Singapore noodles, requested vermicelli noodles and not crispy (don't like crispy noodles), and I for what was clearly left over from lunchtime, crusty, old noodles that were scraped from the bottom of the pan. Inedible. Was meant to be hot, was neither hot in flavour, nor was it got in temperature. Won't use this place again, avoid.

Absolute Chinese Garbage. Well... After looking for a new Chinese restaurant after our our norm closed down we found Choys. I was told that Maroubra was far away for delivery ( go figure ) so it would be 1 hour before received it. After agreeing, I ordered for my wife & I and asked for a total price. 1 entree, 1 veges & 2 mains = $47 ( including a $5 delivery fee. I asked are you the best in Randwick to which I was told ' been here 37 yrs '.
Well that's all I need to say. Tasteless Chinese, soggy spring rolls & the plastic bag swimming in juices. Absolute garbage. Do not go there.

Fantastic Service. What can I say..?? I never find this fantastic Chinese restaurant with the best service ever.... Cheap price, Excellent service... Will definitely comes back..

Overpriced and tasteless. On recommendation we ordered takeaway from Choys. The ordering process went well and the food arrived on time. It was after the delivery guy had left that we realised that we did not receive everything we ordered and paid for. I didn't even bother to call - what was the point. Anyway, the food was pretty ordinary. The portions were okay but mostly dry and/or tasteless. We assumed that premium price was an indication of quality. Wrong. Not going back.

Fine Dining. I have been recently looking for a fine dining Chinese restaurant. I heard about Choys from a friend, so I decided to try it. As I arrived, I was greeted by the waiter. Tick. The menu was very sophisticated. Tick. The service was very good. Tick. I have to say that Choys is a very good restaurant if you like Chinese food. There was also a mysterious teenager who didn't know how to pour tea, and said "here you go" and threw the pot at someone. O___O? So if you're hungry and in Randwick, go to Choys!

Should be a tourist attraction!. All I can say is, WOW. What amazing hospitality by a family owned Chinese restaurant. Fine dining - at. it's. best. Everyone near Choys should definitely go there. And everyone not near Choys should definitely go there. The food is definitely NOT like having a steak rubbed in dog feces and shoved in your mouth (Bear Grylls). Wish there was some member's pass so I could accumulate visitor points or something. I heart Choys!

BEST RESTAURANT EVER. Oh my god, i just went to Choys and by far,

the service and food served could match OR PROBABLY be much more quality than what you'd find in a fine dining restaurant.

who knew just a small little restaurant in Randwick could be so surprisingly great?

Definitely going again.
