Review Duke's Lounge - Randwick

Awful. New management since the last time we visited. Both servings of Eggs Benedict breakfasts were almost cold and the eggs were almost hard (over cooked), from sitting around in the kitchen. Toast came with the meanest amount of honey (asked for more and got a disapproving look). Cappuccino was burnt and nasty tasting. The two elderly ladies who appeared to be cooking and running the cafe did not speak English very well, made it a little hard to get our orders across.

Horrible customer service. They took 1 hour to bring our food. Charged me for a masala chai which I didn't have (don't order this at the cafe).

I came here craving for the bacon and egg, but when I tried their Bangkok brekkie, I was blown away. It was a flavourful soupy rice dish, perfect for winter nights. Can't go wrong if you love chicken and coriander flavours. Would recommend getting the egg with it. It's always good to see a cafe trying something new and succeeding immensely.

Had brunch there last weekend, liked my omelette and masala chai; DH liked his eggs benedict and iced chocolate, happy with the quality and quantity of food, will return to try other items on their menu.

By far the worst steak sandwich I have even eaten. Dry cheap minute steak, watery mayo and zero taste. Chips that stated to be the best in the world that were dreadful and cooked in cheap dirty oil. These people shouldn't be in the food game.

This great home like cafe is really great for a coffee and a meal. The service is friendly and quick. Their menu is quite extensive for a small cafe, and the owner Duke, is a very friendly guy, hes always up for a chat

Yummy food - try the vietnamese chicken ball soup (can't remember it's name!!) for an egg-alternative and healthy breaky! Great coffee too. Have visited often, I enjoy it's quirkyness!

Awful. My friend was accused of not paying for her coffee, even though she had. The guy behind the counter continued harrassing her even as we were going out the door, and the girl who had taken the payment stayed quite. Won't be going back there again. They have renovated recently and looks like perhaps theres been an ownership change, it used to be better.

The Duke’s lounge is a nice place with a beautiful inside restaurant with its decorations. However, when I went there was no music what so ever ! How awkward ! So when asked whether we would like to sit inside or out we said outside without a hesitation! I would have liked to sit inside but the silence did not leave a good impression on me.

The salad and the bacon and egg roll was of a good price and we enjoyed the food but nothing to rave about.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and fixed our table when we arrived as it was a bit wobbly.

Cute little cafe in the lovely neighborhood Randwick. Kind staff, nice decoration, okay coffee and good food. May come back for takeaway coffee.

Went here for a coffee and the coffee was nice, single origin from Kenya. It didn't have the latte art that I was expecting from having seen their pics on Instagram, but an attempt at some. I ordered the bagel, mainly because I love bagels and it said they were handmade. Not sure when, or how fresh. I was a bit worried as they said 'vegan', and not being a vegan, was unsure of the taste. I asked for cream cheese. It came with the slightest amount of cream cheese, I wondered if we were in times of war rationing? Anyway it didn't taste like any bagel I'm used to, and not quite sure if I liked it. Jury still out. They have lots of nice breakfast options to try. Although they've recently undergone a renovation; the front is vintage and trendy and the back has plastic chairs. It needs to be a comprehensive fit out. Nice workers there though.

My Mocha ($4) was pretty good and not too far off the mark from the one I loved at Single Origin Roasters although just not as intense in flavour. The Cappuccino ($3.30) again decent and not bitter and reports of the Flat white ($3.30) by my barista frien

At Duke’s Lounge, a small cafe in Randwick, you are greeted by friendly service and a casual no fuss eating area. The menus are presented on landscape paper, protected by a plastic sleeve and most prices are decent value.
