Review Bombay Bloomers - Randwick

I tell you what, if you have sparkling water with your meal never go to this restaurant. It was 72 dollars in total for 8 glasses of sparkling water. Not bottles, small cups… so ridiculous! It was more expensive then a beer. Usually at a restaurant you get a bottle for 6-8 dollars and share with the table but they actually charged per cup. The food wasn’t too bad but nothing special. Never going again.

Excellent food, service, and great location in Randwick! The standout dishes were the potato rolls, butter chicken and garlic cheese naan. The garlic cheese naan was the best I’ve ever had - lightly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, cheesy, buttery, and didn’t feel heavy. We also enjoyed the dessert, which was the Indian Ice Cream Mango Kulfi. It tasted a lot like a Mango Weiss bar!

Great experience, welcoming and friendly staff. Nice wine and big menu. Beef vindaloo & prawns malabar were fantastic, the peshwari naan was fluffy and not too sweet along with pilau rice and Pinot noir. Warm cosy restaurant. Can’t fault it!

Service is awful! Went in at 6.20, starters at 7, by 7.30 we had to ask what's happening with dinner?! They said too busy with deliveries!! So people actually in restaurant don't count?! Food was very bland & going on cold! Rice was full of peas!! My son asked for a whisky which didn't come until he asked the manager 15 mins later!! Do NOT use!! Awful excuse for a restaurant!!

Delicious, authentic Indian food in the heart of Randwick! New chef has just taken over and from what I've been told, he has a background in fine dining. It really shows in the taste and presentation of the dishes. The curries were cooked to perfection - our lamb rogan josh was melt in the mouth, while the chicken tikka masala had just the right amount of heat. A rather hefty entree, two curries, rice, naan and a couple of drinks left us with a bill of about $70 which is extremely reasonable. Give this place a try - with the new chef and what appears to be a change in ownership, this restaurant is my new go to for local Indian!

Delicious food… the changed taste of the entrees and curries was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection. Worth the money spent, Highly recommended👌

South Indian Fish Curry, Hot Malayalee Prawns and Lamb Cutlets are really good! Their cooking takes time so dont go if you are in a rush to finish a meal (e.g. before a movie).

Had the South Indian lamb curry which was delicious- I ordered medium and it was spicy enough for me and I like spice. Onion bahjees were lovely- and garlic naan good... overall a good meal and will be back to try more.

We were craving indian food for dinner so came across this place and got it delivered. We ordered the butter chicken which was a bit watery. The cheese naan (a must), plain naan and chicken samosas. Everything was delicious.

Went here for a date a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Got delivery last weekend and the curries were still as delicious as remembered. Good flavour and spice to them. The naan however was dry and hard and the rice was really watery. Wouldn't order the rice again.

Lovely Indian attentive staff. Food was authentic. Certainly worth a visit. I come from Adelaide and we have great Indian food and this is on a par with that

We have been eating here for over 1 year and love it. The butter chicken is soooo yummy. The naan is the best ever.
The staff is friendly and the service is good.

The Taj Mahal of Indian. The staff and Management could not have been more friendly and efficient. Our group of 8 gladly dined on an offering of "Buffet" delights tasting many of the dishes on the menu, together with Lassi drinks all round. As visitors to Sydney, we are extremely pleased we stumbled across this restaurant and will definitely be dining there again on the next visit. Highly recommended and extremely enjoyed.

My partner and I ordered mixed entree, prawns & beef vindaloo and I can safely say I will never eat here again. Complete waist of money, small portion sizes overly salty, burnt prawns, chewy beef, bland overcooked rice and doughy naan bread....finished it all and was still hungry plus delivery took over 1 hr and its just down the road delivered diet coke instead of normal coke as well lol hopeless

My partner and I did not like bombay bloomers at all!!
We had the mixed entree, samosa, rojanjosh, vindaloo and peshwani naan.
Mixed entre did not look fresh however the samosa was delicious (hard to screw that one up). Our mains Rojanjosh and vindaloo were tasteless and the meat was extremely tough. I would not recommend this Indian to anyone and will not be returning

Maybe I'm an Indian food snob since I am related to a fijian-Indian; however I have eaten at restaurants which are much nicer than this one. The naan tasted flour-y and the lamb contained more fat than meat. I didn't finish the naan or the lamb saag and won't be returning.

Delicious!. Came here for dinner with my husband and children. The staff are very friendly, showing my children the little Indian ornaments to make them smile.

We ordered a mixed entree platter which was absolutely sensational. I highly recommend trying the chicken tikka and lamb cutlets. Our mains consisted of Butter Chicken, Rogan Josh and a Beef Madras. I only wish that the food would never end!

My youngest is very fussy, but he is now hooked onto the Butter Chicken. We will be coming here when we want a good curry!

Firstly, I have no idea why the ratings for this restaurant are so low on Urban Spoon! I have eaten here at least 20 times in the restaurant and delivery and it has always been great. I am very picky and Bombay is the best Indian food I've found around Sydney (I've tried a lot). I was travelling in India this year and when I came back craving Indian food, Bombay tasted just like the genuine Indian food I had been eating on my trip, amazing! Bombay bloomers is the only Indian restaurant I order from now cause it really
is the tastiest and the best!

Absolutely beautiful meal. I ordered lamb with lentils & tomatoes, beautiful flavours & slightly spicy which was perfect for me. Saffron rice was light & fluffy & mango lassi was also nice & was substituted for dessert.

On Friday night my fiancé and I decided to get take away Indian food from this restaurant and have a nice night in after a busy week. When i ordered the person taking my order told me it would be an hour wait. 1hour and 45 minutes later we called for the third time to find out if our meal was on its way and we were told that our food was still in randwick. It ruined our night in. We lost our appetite and went to bed disappointed. Want a similar night? Order from this restaurant.

Terrible. Myself and partner decided to dine here while walking through Randwick a couple of weeks ago. I love a good Indian myself so I was looking forward to a tasty meal. Considering the high standard of food in Sydney I am surprised by the lack of really good Indian restaurants but I'm always willing to try a new spot. Despite the place being completely empty, I was willing to overlook the lack of custom due to it being only 6 on a Tuesday evening.

We ordered potato rolls (dumplings) and a Lamb Saag with Peas Pullau (basmati rice with peas and spices) that we decided we would share and if we wanted more food we would order it after. This was hard to fathom for the attending waitress who could not disguise her displeasure that we were not ordering two mains, instead insisting we would not have enough food with the one main course. That was probably the only wise decision we made because as soon as I tasted the stale old dumplings I knew it was not going to be a good meal. They tasted like something that had been deep fried a day earlier and left out overnight. The grimy oily after-taste was not nice and the dumplings were lukewarm, a theme which continued for the next meal. We also had poppadoms with mint sauce. The sauce was probably the only nice thing we got in the entire meal as the poppadoms were stale and devoid of crunch.

Lamb saag is a favourite dish of mine and I really enjoy the spicy spinach flavour in a good one. The meal I got for my money was truly crap. A lukewarm, spiceless dish whose only discernible flavour was salt made me feel bad as I ate it. The lamb tasted old, and in all honesty was much like the chewy 'lamb' you'd see at the end of a long day in one of those bain marie Indians. The rice had a nice flavour to it, but again was served old and lukewarm. This was an astoundingly awful meal, and it wasn't cheap either at 17 dollars for a main excluding rice. There was a total lack of any effort to present hot, fresh food and the quality of the fare was seriously substandard. Within 20 minutes of leaving we could really feel this meal did not agree with either of us.

I certainly will not be going near this place ever again. I really had to write this review out of guilt that anyone else should go into this place and suffer.

Best Indian In the East. Best Value, Best taste, and Best Service. Simple. BYO makes it a great cheap option without scrimping on flavour

Unfortunately just not as good as I remember it from a few years ago. Maybe it was because it was Saturday night. But without a doubt the smallest naans I've ever had!

Not too bad. Not a bad place for an Indian meal. Worth a visit
