Super lovely place! A cafe that also turns into a bar at night - a perfect model seems to me. Absolutely delicious food that is made with love and the prices are good. You will be welcomed by a super friendly staff and a unique atmosphere of a bar.

The drinks, selection, and fit out is amazing. The staff let the place down. The spirit wall has some great selection but when you order something the staff haven’t heard of, it is like you offended them. Don’t waste your time trying to tell them or point out what bottle you are referring to as they only get more annoyed from you trying. I want to love this place but they make it hard.

Food was good, very tasty and good quantity. Had to wait for 40 minutes even though it was not busy at the time.

The best coffee at the Spot. The staff always greet customers with genuine warmth. Great venue if you wish to take a group for a function, etc. A genuinely warm & ambient feel in the cafe!! Highly recommend!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my Fish, Chips & Salad lunch & my son enjoyed his Burger & Chips. Quick service, delicious & great tasting food. Coffee was rich, strong & flavoursome. Good place to dine in, most specially, before or after the movies, which is just across The Ritz Theatre or just a place to chill-out

Can never go wrong the Hunter S. Thompson! At first sight it looked as though it could have been the bar Johnny Depp first met Hunter. Service was welcoming and consistent. the food servings were generous and delicious. Cinnamon banana pancakes are a must for those with a sweet tooth!

Great food, atmosphere, friendly staff and literally the best coffee in Sydney. I drive for 20mins just to get my fix. Highly recommended.

Amazing food and coffee but also extremely family friendly! The staff were great with our kids and went above and beyond to make it a great experience! Highly recommend.

Coffee is good but WHY is your takeaway coffee always so hot!!? even when I ask for it warm it is too hot to carry on my walk to work, let alone drink in the next 15-20 minutes. It's always so disappointing

Great dog friendly cafe, smashed avo and corn fritters on point
Alex Hart
Fantastic food, coffee even better. Get around the fritters, the blat (w fried egg) and the cold brew.

Great spot, awesome coffee and the best Bacon & Egg roll in Sydney!

Great place pre or post movies for coffee but breakfast is the highlight

The owner will crush you with kindness faster than you can say 'hey shorty, make me a coffee you handsome SOB!' Exceptional sausages

Great food, amazing coffee, very friendly team. Good vibe. A bunch of legends. Have made a few friends from the people I've met waiting for coffee!

Quality Coffee and the Steak Sanga goes alright too...

It was my first time at Shorty's and the experience was terrible. I wouldn't bother going here again or recommend that anyone should. The waitress must have had cotton balls in her ears as she got my order wrong on two counts - no BBQ sauce as requested and missed one of the B+E rolls that was ordered!
The rolls were squished and the yolk had leaked out and hardened on the tray by the time i got home, so there was only fried egg whites in the roll. Bread rolls were also stale.
0/10
I have never been more upset! $18 for a healthy cauliflower salad with dukkah, chickpeas, nuts and spinach is basically just spinach!!! What a joke!

Lovely little spot on a busy cafe strip where big windows allow the winter sun to pour in rather nicely. My long macchiato was perfectly made and my toasted bagel with butter and jam was just what the doctor ordered (although a tad pricey at $9).
Small interior leads to a back patio with extra tables. Toilet is down a flight of wooden stairs and is odd to say the least (and a bit grotty). Anyone with accessibility or mobility issues would not do well here.
Almond latte here is awesome.

Chicken sandwich is the bomb, highly recommend. Beautiful crusty bread & the poached chicken filling is delicious.

Husband had Rueben and it was pretty good too.

Portions are very generous... I like this place! We will be back :)

Taking over from where BiancoNero Espresso used to be in The Spot it's a fun name for a place with a bit of tongue in check reference to the owner who's not so short like Little John. Cappuccino ($3.50) is made well using Single O Paradox. Babyccino ($1.50) comes in a paper cup with a side of marshmallow and is about half froth so a pretty good result. The Breakfast Toastie with ham, cheese, tomato chutney, hollandaise on sourdough ($10) is a great choice as a hunger buster. Very tasty and a generous size using The Bread & Butter Project sourdough. I'd definitely get again or share again with the Mrs. Hash Brown on the side ($3) helps complete the carbs and always a winner when deep fried to a golden brown crunch. Free parking in the area is always a challenge but locals have a great new spot for their coffee and breakfast fix. Decent amount of seating and there's also a back deck out the back. On the wishlist for next visit will be the Prana Masala Chai, Bacon & Egg Milk Bun and their Reuben Sandwich.
