Love the ambiance of this venue, such a lovely place to have a catch up with friends and family. Their food is delicious, particularly their tacos and they also have a great range of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks.

Extremely strict booking system that’s powered by third party and only allow 1.5hrs for weekends. The chimuchurri taco tastes very refreshing and the fish taco has very great texture. Overall it’s a bit overpriced and we wish we could stay for longer to enjoy more drinks.

Myself and a group of friends came here tonight. One of my friends is pregnant. We all felt extremely ill, especially my pregnant friend. We expressed our concerns with the manager who was nothing but unhelpful. Jess was her name. She refused to believe that the food was stale and said that she couldn’t do anything about it, laughed and shrugged it off. All I asked for was a resolution on which she had no care factor. My pregnant friend is now at risk. I would like to be contacted asap in regards to this or I will be taking this matter much further.

Food is quite bland and non descriptive. Staff were attentive and friendly. Drinks other than tequila are not very good either. Both the prosecco and the house bubbly are cheap passion pop. Won't be visiting again

The vibe of the place was great and the cocktails were insane! Would definitely come back for the cocktails however not for the food. It was overpriced for what you get and the meat was really dry. Definitely not Mexican… it’s more “Aussie”fied.

I went there a couple of night ago ,food was delicious . Service was great !! I had the fish tacos and the chorizo quesadilla it was sooooo yumi !!! A bit spicy but nothing a bit of sour cream cannot help with ;) My friend had the beef fajita , she was thrilled ! She couldn't finished it so the staff offer to pack it up for us and take the rest home. Overall great experience , super restaurant super food and great ambiance ! :)

The service here was incredible. Super speedy. Very attentive. I never expect cocktails to come out quickly and they were on our table within a couple of minutes. Huge variety of cocktails, so you can just come here for a drink and you won't get bored of the choices. They were all really sweet and easy to drink. The food felt authentic and packed a punch. That spice is a slow burn, so make sure you order some sour cream with it. I had the chorizo quesadilla. Super yummy. It has a beautiful vibe to it. Fairy lights all over the ceiling, neon lights, colourful Mexican hats, and bright flags. Really fun decor.

Great atmosphere and vibes however food was a bit on the mediocre side. Ordered chorizo quesadillas, ceviche, a couple of tacos (prawn, fish, chicken and pulled pork) and a jug of sangria. The ceviche was overpowered with a sourness from citrus and salt which made it unpleasant to eat. The tacos were okay but nothing amazing - the shells were a bit stale. The quesadillas was probably the best dish out of all of them. Probably wouldn't come back unless was just ducking in for a drink

Roca Mexican Cantina Is a must for the locals of Coogee, backpackers and people who can get their butts to the East-side. Gerardo serves some of the best traditional Mexican I have eaten and if that isn’t enough perhaps his selection of over fifty tequilas will do it. Or maybe Taco Tuesday with $3 tacos, $5 sangrias and $6 tequilas will do it. If you can’t get to Coogee hit up their mothership at Calaveras Mexican Cantina in Newtown.

🌮 🇲🇽 Expected more, especially having been featured online as one of Sydney’s Top Mexicans. Standard offering; both food and drink selections were average yet at premium prices. The Calavera decorations on the walls were cool though 💀

Food was very nice very authentic . Desert however was disappointing. We have one of each of the deserts and no one enjoyed their desert unfortunately. Service was excellent and food came quickly.

Invited to come here I tired a few dishes but the standouts were Flautas de pollo,it's just a Mexican spring roll, yum! The Fajitas Asadas was great also?,I liked how the flavours was infused in the rice! Service is friendly and I like the decor of the place. Not on the Main Street but adjacent to the park very close to the beach.

Mexican ninja!!!

Close by the beach this place offer delicious Mexican food with spicy flair...

Serving up tasty snacks that matches your cocktail, this place is the best to relax after a long day of work. And if you like to walk on the beach its pretty close by ...

If you like heat make sure you get the habanero salsa ... it will give you a nice kick 😎

Until next time .... keep eating ...

Great Mexican food and such fun decor and atmosphere! Plus friendly and genuine customer service. Thus far I've had an assortment of tacos on Taco Tuesday ($3 tacos) which have all been deliciously tasty! I will continue to get through the whole menu over the next few months. I would say it's a bit overpriced for the area and for the portion sizes (still comparable to every other Mexican place in Sydney though). Perhaps they may lower the prices or have more weekly specials. $16 for a guacamole starter is just way too high (I ended up waiting until I was home and made my own guac). Nevertheless, they can take all my dollarz if they keep serving up delicious food like this!

This place is good! The food is fresh and the tacos are tasty - I recommend the entree guacamole & fish tacos, delicious!

However... i do think it's overpriced for what it is. While the decor is 'gothic Mexican' which is cool - the ambience is lacking somewhat. I don't mind paying more for an excellent atmosphere PLUS amazing food but I just don't know if this restaurant offers that total package.

Overall - the food is good but honestly I don't know if the price justifies it - $14 for guacamole- while fresh- is a bit much. Desserts were $13 also which is slightly outrageous.

I reckon a (cheaper) weekday menu could help to increase this places profile - and help to build a customer base.... something that they will need quite soon if they are going to stay open.
