Review Catalina Bistro - Rathmines

It's not often you hear about a place that has exceptional food, and actually agree after eating there! We were part of a large crowd who were attending a trivia night at the club as part of a local scout troupe. Needing to eat before hand, we booked for our table to eat before the games started. All of us bar one ordered Thai food. The other ordered steak. 8 meals arrived in fairly quick succession (which is incredible when you consider they were feeding 100 people at around the same time). Our Thai was FANTASTIC! Honestly, I don't think I've had better. We shared our meals and everyone agreed it was first class. The steak was also cooked perfectly and a good size. I can't recommend it enough. Will be definitely going back time and time again. We came back for trivia 2022 and my statements above are still true. Absolutely fantastic!

Great food, beer, plenty of raffles. The club, positioned adjacent to the war memorial also has historic photos of the Rathmines Air base and Catalinas that flew from there.

This is a really great place to go. Great tasty food, extremely friendly staff. I am very impressed with what was on offer food wise and it is a great place to have a meal. If you want great service, friendly staff then this is the place to go. They are also extremely accommodating with the kids I work with. Thank you so very much.

Excellent Thai food. Recommend their Crying Tiger, if you it hot n spicy (my favorite, pet mak), soft shell crab and duck red curry also recommended when available. Nice little bowling club, quiet ambience and friendly service.

The best place out for a lovely meal at reasonable prices in Lake Macquarie. The staff are super friendly and it's a great place to sit and watch the quiet of this beautiful lake. Highly recommended.

Music, music, music, good classic food, friendly staff, the Sunday raffles, especially the fun personalities of the ladies running it. From our favourite musicians - Marianne Rex, Ben Woodham. James Naldo, Shaun Lidster and Darren Rolling Keyes and many many more through to the joy of hearing Reggie Sinclair perform today, this club never ceases to surprise and delight. Please keep offering our local community a fun Sunday arvo.

Worst meal and customer service I have ever had, waited over 1hour and 45mins for two meals and when I went a asked if they had forgot about me they were rude. The menu barely had anything on it and everything we asked for on the menu they had ran out of,the meals were terrible we ate two mouthfuls and walked out, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

How hard is it to read an order. I only want what I pay for and it would be a bonus if it was ALL hot. Sorry but it just reminded me why I stopped eating there last year.

On paper, salad with beetroot, quinoa, goats cheese and roast pumpkin sounds awesome. Added chicken or more substance. Well that chicken was processed, beetroot canned, goats cheese ? Yes it was on the menu but need a magnifying glass to find it. Roast pumpkin and fancy salad mix ok. I hope they read reviews like this and improve this dish as it has potential to be a great meal.
