We stayed in the kingfisher studio, beautifully set amoungst the trees/garden , very clean, makes you feel very much like it's only you there in the tranquil garden's. We had the set three course meal for our three night stay, food was all delicious. Hostess was very friendly and helpful.
Staying at the cottages turned out to be a blessing, accommodation at mount surprise was all booked out which is how we ended up at Chilverton.
Chilverton is only a short drive to most attractions where as Mount Surprise would have been a two to three hour drive to see anything. Mount surprise has the Lava caves but that's it.
Would highly recommend Chilverton to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle as well as being in a central location for your tourist outings.
This place is a hidden gem! Incredibly peaceful with beautiful scenery, you won’t find a better place to relax and recharge. The Rosella cottage was in the perfect location, right by the stream and it was very clean and included all the amenities that you need! Gwen and Bruce are great hosts who will leave you to enjoy yourself or join you for a wine and beer at the reception area.
We will definitely be back!
The location was wonderful and Bruce and Gwen took the time to make sure everything was in order. They took the time to catchup and have a drink or two with you and discuss the local area which provided some interesting history on the area. The food cooked on site by Gwen with the assistance of Bruce was great and very generous serving sizes. I would recommend this place to anyone who just wants to chill out, hope to get back their at some stage.
We booked in over Christmas to rest and recover after a very hectic year. Chilverton was the perfect choice. We loved the lack of phone and internet access, it gave us the opportunity to completely switch off. We appreciated the exceptional level of customer service we received from Gwen and Bruce, with beautiful meals and exquisite surrounds. The property is so beautiful and our accommodations were comfortable, private and spacious, with every detail thought of. We were also delighted that our Cavoodle Oliver could stay with us and he was made welcome at every event, including Christmas lunch.
A great weekend away in a wonderful location. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a relaxing location look no further. Our host Gwen was very warm and inviting and extremely helpful, her love for pets makes it a really inviting experience to bring yours. We enjoyed the privately catering dinner supplied by Gwen and our dog Louie couldn't have been more cared for. As our first trip away with him, Gwen made us feel very relaxed in her home and cottage. I highly recommend the Platypus cottage, the fire place was cosy and amenities well thought out. Sitting by the creek on the deck watching the sun rise and turtles play is a delightfully wholesome experience. The grounds are absolutely spectacular, the care and attention to them with fire pits and benches throughout are a real credit to the owners and were my personal highlight.
My wife and I recently had a wonderful private dining experience at the restaurant at Chilverton cottages. We had a 3 course set menu and all the food was homemade. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was a great view of the surrounding gardens and bush land. We highly recommend.
We had an excellent stay, accommodation in the Rosella Cottage was amazing - wonderful river views and surrounded by gorgeous wildlife. The food and hospitality by Gwen was exceptional. We have already recommend a stay to our friends and family
Beautiful property and comfy cabins with everything you need for an escape from the daily grind with your beloved fur babies . No phone reception in the cabin was a blessing as we truely unplugged. Sitting in front of the fire watching a movie and sipping the most delish home made port was a highlight!! We booked for 3 course dinners with the puppy menu included and hot breakfasts, the food was sublime and paws down you could not ask for a nicer experience. Gwen was amazingly warm and welcoming and we cannot wait to come back. Layla and Cruise miss you and the puppy park already.
