Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and premier service. If you can't get to Italy then this is the next best thing. The best Italian restaurant on the peninsula! This place is legit😎

I got high expectations for their authentic Italian food. But the experience is just average. Beef Ragu tastes great for the sauce but the handmade noodles is just ordinary and nothing special compared to normal pasta. Gnocchi we ordered has great cheese sauce but the handmade gnocchi has weird mushy texture, I think it maybe easy digest for old people. For the service, I confirmed with the waiter for the size of the pasta and he told me it’s big. However, the portions are pathetic and we ended up hungry. The other waitress seems burnt and rushed food to tables. Tbh, I don’t think it’s worth the high price and too many other equally authentic Italian restaurants in the area.

Here‘s a statement for you: best Italian food I had in my life. Been to Italy a few times, but this blew us away. The antipasti were amazing, Ravioli a dream, and the lemon in bed dessert spectacular. Cosy atmosphere, friendly service, highly recommended!

Really yum Italian restaurant! From the interesting farinata (chick pea focaccia) and the savoury cake of the day to the pansotti in a walnut sauce and fish stew and the tiramisu dessert, the food was all exceptional. Probably the highlights were the pansotti and the savoury cake of the day. The restaurant also has an interesting wine list, full of Italian wine. From this we had the Barolo, which was very tasty. The staff here are also very good and welcoming. This restaurant definitely comes recommended.

The absolute best Italian I've ever had in Australia! Being an Italian, I'm a hard marker when it comes to authentic Italian cuisine - but the flavours and quality of these meals is second to none! Service is exceptional. Highly recommend and will become a regular when in town. Thank you so much! Loved it!

Have been meaning to try here for ages and wasn't disappointed. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. The restaurant is small with only 12 or so seats in the front area and double that out the back. Being winter we chose the front area. A really interesting wine list based on Italian wines rather than domestic. We went with a sparkling Moscato that was relatively low alcohol (5%). Entree for two was a shared antipasto. We over estimated the size of the large for two. It was extremely generous. Everything was freshly sliced and outstanding. Simply the best antipasto we've seen in Brisbane for the price. Mains was the Linguine alle Vongole and a special of spiral pasta with parmesan and asparagus. That was probably the star of the two. The Linguine had a little too much chilli for my taste. Would definitely have it again but would ask to dial back a little. The dessert was a double espresso and their simple 'sweet pastry' selection. Arrived with three tiny little filled tart cases with lemon, chocolate and meringue filling. Tiny and a perfect sweet end. Only complaints would be while service was very welcoming they missed simple things like offering a spoon with the pasta or sugar with the coffee. But these were quickly fixed. Will definitely be back. The pasta was so good.

This wonderful Italian restaurant is 'our favourite Italian Restaurant', as it's perfect in so many ways. Every dish is delicious and freshly made with love. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and respectful - it's as if we really are in a little piece of Italy. We have had our last two work Christmas parties here and are so impressed with our dinners. Have booked again for this year's event. 10/10 every single time.

This is true Italian high quality food. Authentic and absolutely beautiful food. Alex is a nice and fun guy. He entertains, makes good conversation and talks you through the menu. Absolute the best Italian food I ever had and we definitely be back soon.

We visited La Lanterna for the first time yesterday. It was the lunchtime opening and very quiet. (We had previously driven past on many evenings but it must have been on Mondays or Tuesdays and the restaurant was closed.) From the moment we walked in yesterday we were welcomed and appreciated as valued customers and treated as friends. I asked if some of the dishes could be made vegan and this was not a problem at all. We were recommended some of the meals and we shared the farinata of the day (pumpkin and rosemary) yum! and l chose the linguine alle vongole minus the clams. Also yum! The other dish we had was the gnocci of the day. Washed down with a glass of red and an Italian beer, this was a delicious meal. Both the manager and chef (joint owners?) delivered a wonderful dining experience and it was awesome to have time to talk about the wonders of Italy as we had traveled there just a few months ago. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine at its best, served up with genuine hospitality. We will definitely return again and again.

This is the best kept secret in Redcliffe. Absolutely amazing food. The service was exceptional. The wine... OMG.. The $39 chefs special, 5 courses and dessert was fantastic value and was catered to our own tastes.. I can't fault my experience. Definitely going to become a regular of this little gem.

It’s taken us too long to discover La Lanterna. What a great little restaurant! Loved everything about it, we had the Chefs special - a very satisfying menu, great flavors and so much food! I wish I could have finished it all. The owner is so passionate about his food and vision for the restaurant such a great addition to Redcliffe’s food scene. All Italian wines- it was great not going to my usual but taking the time to read about their origin and try different wines. Oh and I have to add their music play list was so good! we will definitely be back!

We had the most delightful dining experience at La Lanterna! The atmosphere was immediately appealing, it highlights the lovely port city of Genoa, such a wonderful feel. I loved the dining room, it is very welcoming, a warm and comfortable vibe. The service was exceptional. The food. Well, that was absolutely beyond expectation! Really, extremely extraordinary. We had the chef's choice 5 courses and every one was outstanding, and that doesn't include the appetizer, and the beautiful Italian wine, and the gorgeous clean espresso!!! This little place is heaven. Heaven. Authentic regional Ligurian cuisine was just too delightful, so much flavour. We will be regulars here. Regularly.

This was my third visit to La Lanterna and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Water is served on arrival without having to request it. The thin foccachia with spring onions entré was delightfully rustic. I had the fussili with velvety peas and prawns which was a delicate serving and tasted wonderful. The garden salad complimented it perfectly. The panna cotta served with rich chocolate sauce was light and delicious. The table service was good and the ambience lively and relaxing. I'm definately going back for more.

Probably the best italian restaurant on the peninsula. Menu could be bigger, but everything is homemade and their kitchen is very small. Authentic flavors, focaccias and pastas are the best we've ever had. Wish i could find the cheese they use, its delicious. They are licensed but i believe they're also byo. Small wine list (never heard of any of their wines tbh) but the "premium" red wine was amazing

This restaurant has rave reviews on the web, so we went with high expectations but unfortunately were disappointed. Although we booked a week in advance our table was right beside the kitchen with bright lighting and little ambience, but service was very good. We got the chef's selection which for us included vegetable fritters - nice and crispy but pretty flavourless, a la lanterna focaccia - not a traditional focaccia bread, more like a crisp & oily flatbread with cheese which was also pretty bland and flavourless, a chickpea focaccia which was unusual, very dry and not to our taste at all, and then for main we had the fettuccini with beef sugo which was ok, nothing special or as flavoursome as we expected and the beef steak which we can appreciate was a good cut of meat and cooked nice and rare, but a pretty average dish with just a large serve of rocket on the side. Altogether price for the selection was good, and the dishes weren't made badly, but perhaps Ligurian food is just quite simple and not as flavoursome as we are used to /from other Italian cuisine. Glad we tried it but won't be going back for more.

Relaxed and casual but delicious! Antipasto to share took us straight back to Italy. Fish of the day was superb. Pannacotta to die for. Walked along the beach afterwards Bellisimo!<br/>
