Review Cafe 63 - Redcliffe

Took my son for his birthday breakfast, very disappointed. I ordered the French toast with strawberries and banana. Seems there is a massive shortage on fruit, I say poor effort! The deal breaker for me was watching one of the wait staff pat a dog (dog friendly cafe) then continue to get glassware/cutlery, deliver customers coffees all without washing his hands. On leaving the premise when I paid, I did tell the person who took my $40 odd dollars for our two meals, her response “sometimes when we’re so busy we just forget” Um, NOT good enough! I will not eat there again!

The place is nice, the staff are kind and the food is delicious. However, we waited almost an hour for our order, it took longer than usual. They told us that they had a reduced number of employees. Despite the delay, I recommend it.

This 63 is in a lovely setting over the road from the beach foreshore. Always a nice sea breeze. Staff attentive and polite. Easy access for mobility challenged (no stairs) and a nice vibe. Menu is great. Meals were well cooked and presented and we didn't have to wait long. Recommended.

Very accommodating when we arrived after 2:30pm the other day. Food was delicious, best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Service fantastic, friendly & fast. I ordered a flat white coffee in a mug. The best coffee I've tasted in awhile. Highly recommend.

Great place for a cappuccino and a breakfast. Service is very friendly. One tiny critique a slice of lemon was missing. But when I asked the waitress I got a slice of lemon delivered.

I have been here a numerous times for breakfast, never disappoints. The service is quick, and the staff are very welcoming. The food is very reasonably priced and good value. Beautiful views of the Redcliffe esplanade. Will definitely be back.

We had the 'Samoa' breakfast. Was very nice although would be nice to have more fruit on the plate. Coffee is usually great but this time it didn't taste like lactose free milk. Tasted like they used soy.

The meal and presentation was great & prices were reasonable, there was lot on the menu to read but the staff, although polite, need a bit more training in customer service. The cutlery was brought to our table & put down in a heap at the end of the table & we were told to put it out ourselves & she walked off. On arriving a staff member greeted us & just pointed to a table & said you can sit there & just walked off without saying that someone will come & take your order. The place wasn't busy at all but it took quite a while before someone came to take our order.

Do not bother coming here. Bad service and bad food. They sat us at a dirty table for half an hour before cleaning it. Then we waited over half an hour for somebody to take our order. Once the food came there was a huge thick black hair in it. They replaced it and then the food was so bad. I ordered a fruit platter and all of the fruit was unripe and hard. They didn't even apologise. Not worth your time.

Pros: -kids table & toys -huge menu -loved the fake grass/outside area atmosphere -service prompt Cons: -meat in the breakfast was dry & overcooked -water in a plastic bottle for each customer (not very sustainable/environmentally friendly) -saw the pouring bottled juice into the juicer to make our 'fresh squeezed' tropical juice

This is a new place in town and what a great place it is proving to be. Whether coming for breakfast, morning tea, lunch or afters, the menu has more than enough on offer. I love its eclectic names for dishes and how the flavours and combined. It keeps me coming back, and back, and back

A great location and good coffee however we waited much too long for our breakfast (over 30 minutes). We weren't warned of the wait and no apologies were made. When breakfast did arrive we were short of a poached egg and a potato "stack". There are 2 separate menus with similar menu options under different names - just need to keep it simple I think.

We had breakfast on Monday morning. The service was really good, the food (pancakes and eggs benedict) delicious and staff very pleasant. I regularly have lunch at the Ann St cafe and will happily return to Redcliffe Cafe 63.

An absolute pleasure of an experience, staff warm and inviting, food and coffee was Devine and best of all the price was perfect for our family of 6

This cafe was outstanding! Service was quick, food was great & there was so much value adding; 3 types of sauce on the table, jams & spreads for breakfast, water on the table, biscuit with your coffee. I'm going back for sure

Service was not good had to wait nearly an hour for our food I think we were forgotten. When the food arrived it was fantastic . They just need to work on there service skills and getting there food out a bit faster.

I was excited about trying Cafe 63 but from the beginning was disappointed. There was not a clear table to sit at and when we chose a table, had to ask the waitress to clear the used items and wipe it down. Service was very slow, I went and got my own menu from the counter. I had breakfast and was disappointed to receive cold toast, cold mushrooms, cold poached eggs and cold potatoe rosti and then blisters of butter to butter the toast myself. Bacon was cooked to inedible and overall the meal was tasteless. The setting is great, the coffee was great. I hope this was just a bad day and that the meals aren't like this every day.

Great food and lots of variety. Sea views and good value. I have never had a bad meal yet!

I’m not usually one to write reviews but for this place I felt the need to. It was a weird overall experience as we had to repeatedly repeat the order. The servers would often come back and confirm the order. We also had to repeat back the order to the servers at the end which was weird as normally they would. It was hard as the menu names were confusing and hard to remember and they expected us to repeat it all to them. It was an unpleasing environment to be in overall.

Very low quality to average food. Food was edible. Presentation is poor. Mocha tasted like it had a weird spice to it.

Located conveniently opposite the water, this cafe boasts a large, versatile menu (with hilarious names) and fresh produce.
The menu is so large and with so many variations, the only irk is that there is a lot of reading, and small writing. You need to read in depth to know what you would like and studying the menu takes some time.
The coffee here is well done and and setting of the cafe is delightful.
Portion sizes are well done (photo of the fish and veg looks bare due to my request of no chips) and staff are attentive.

Honestly, I'm only giving 1 star because I can't go any lower. I've literally never been anywhere this bad. The service was dreadful, we were blatantly ignored, employees were chatting or on their phones, they chose to serve take away customers ahead of us and when we waved them over they looked right at us and turned away. I was on my way out when they called someone over and unfortunately I made the mistake of giving them a second chance. The food I got (I ordered the Hannah thing egg base cake and chips meal, my mother ordered a roasted pork dish) was actually disgusting. I mean, I didn't DIE from eating it, but that's the best compliment I can offer. Huge chunky uncooked chips that tasted like flour, I had to drown them in tomato sauce (which was literally as sweet as a spoon of sugar!?!!?) to get through the few I managed. 'Thin egg base cake'? No, it was a dried up omelette. My mother's 'roasted pork' was those pork rinds you get at coles/woolies and marinade, except these had no marinade, were not roasted, and were 100% warmed up in a microwave (and made her sick later too). Both our dishes were topped with a mixture of extra hard cooked carrots (HOW?) and soggy near-rotten veggies.

I don't know how this place still operates, between its non-existent service, rude staff, and dried up and rotten meals even a toddler could do a better job at making - save yourself the time and money, and go elsewhere.

Great food, the price is just right for the amount of food you get and the quality. The restaurant is lovely and has a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and are quick. Can't wait to return.

Food was awesome. I really loved it. I have been there few times. The staffs are very talented. Highly recommended...........................

Ok restaurant in a great location with nice views. We were a bit shocked by the amount of plastic they go through. Everything comes wrapped in plastic, the juices come in plastic cups with plastic lids and every table gets a plastic bottle of water. They seemed a bit confused when we asked for regular old tap water because we don't use plastic bottles. Such a shame that they're right across from the beautiful ocean and have zero awareness about conserving our oceans or the damage they're doing by creating all that plastic.

location and atmosphere at the Redcliffe Cafe 63 are lovely. There are a lot of choices on the menu which makes you want to come back and try everything - all meals I had were lovely and have tried the juices and coffee both of which are very nice too. The only complaint I may have is sometimes we have been and ordered coffee and they say will be back in a moment to let us have time to choose meals, then it feels like a long time before they come back, we often finish our coffee and are looking around trying to get someone's attention to order our meals and have had to get up and approach someone to come to our table to order otherwise it would take even longer.

Delicious food, value for money, favourite restaurant, perfect venue. Service wasn't good at the beginning, but thereafter very quick. Definitely a must visit.

Cafe 63 is a very aesthetically pleasing. Its well priced with some questionably priced items. But if all you want is a solod burger and chips, $9 for the green and gold burger does the trick. Comes with fries and a free table water. I know where I will be going for my future burgers
