Review Kaneo Restaurant - Reservoir

We visited Kaneo today for lunch for the first with family who recommend we come. We were so impressed, the service was fantastic the waitress had great customer service and the food was amazing. We had the melted cheese, this was delicious and our mains were a great size and also tasted amazing. Everyone was talking about how yum their meals where including the kids who are so fussy. What a great Macedonian restaurant with amazing food. Well done to the cook and everyone. We will definitely come again.

this place was absolutely outstanding. their food was very delicious and my family loved everything we got. I definitely recommend you guys to come here, I genuinely love it.

The restaurant has a nice vibe and when we went for late lunch on a Saturday, it was not too busy. We had Rebra (pork ribs) and the Selsko meso (tender pork in clay pot). The ribs were a bit dry but selsko meso was not bad.

Loved the authenticity of this restaurant, the people, the cooking... even the singer! Everything oozed Macedonian which was great and the food WAS AMAZING.

Best place ever, great meats that will have you salivating over. The best shopska salad you will have in your life Good service Great live music entertainment And all round generally a really nice warm atmosphere...

Best Macedonian restaurant in Melbourne!

First time in Kaneo and YOU have to go! The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. We will definitely be back again.

This place transported me back to Macedonia. The food is so so so good! The staff are super friendly and attentive and the ambience is cosy and traditional. If you like non alcoholic drinks try the strumska it’s delicious.

Just amazing food, very helpful chef who came out and help to understand what was gluten free and accommodated our needs by doing sauce from scratch. Amazing cabbage salad! Had to take home some with me. Ordered seafood platter and was happy with it, my husband had garlic prawns - yam, his daughter had chicken with mushroom sauce. Delicious meals.

The shopska salad was also amazing !!!<br/><br/>The meat was sooo tender and had amazing flavours from the charcoal grill <br/>I honesty was in love with the meat and some of it was stuffed with cheese 😍 <br/><br/>Overall would definitely come back

Dined here on a Sunday afternoon, the interior was well designed and had a nice feel. The food was decent home cooking with large portions, nice to see a large range of items compared to other Macedonian restaurants. Minor improvements can be made to the dishes but overall a good experience, slightly pricey compared to others with comparable items.

The restaurant is very nice and the music they have on weekends really gives it a nice Balkan feel, the food is good but not the best Macedonian ive had although they do have a good selection. Would definately recomend this place.

Just average, nothing to complain about, nothing worth going out of your way for either. Like a good home cooked meal. Large portions and a decent feed, but for the money you could find a more enjoyable experience

The service was friendly and the food was good however for the price, there was just not enough.<br/>We ordered two of the seafood grills. it came on one plate. we were expecting another plate to come out but was told they had put both on the same plate. For around $70 there really should have been more.

It was great. I was here on a Friday night with a large group. There was great atmosphere with live Macedonian singers and a keyboard (although it did make conversation a little difficult). The decor also gives great ambience.<br/><br/>We sampled three traditional Macedonian entrees and then had various mains. The service was friendly, but it did take a while for our mains to come out as there was so many of us. They brought all the meals out together, starting from one end of the table and working up to the other end. <br/><br/>The food was very good, with great depth of flavour. I enjoyed my Gourmet Cheese Bake. It has mozzarella on the top and a cream cheese underneath. There was a lot of sesame seed bread! I enjoyed it, but didn't get through all the bread. We all had a great time and enjoyed the community atmosphere with the live music.

My absolute favorite Macedonian Cuisine Restaurant. Although every single thing on the menu that I have tried is amazing, My favorite meal has to be the 'selsko meso' (country meat dish). All dishes are full of flavor, generous in serving size and made traditionally - it will take you back to memories of 'how baba used to make it'. Staff are fantastic and the live band just tops it off. Cant wait to come back!

Won't go back.. Left after waiting an hour and a half for our mains. <br/>Waiter extremely arrogant - excuse after excuse why the food is late, extremely rude and at no point apologies.<br/><br/>How a restaurant is happy to allow 10 diners sit at a table for an hour and a half with no service is quite embarrassing.

Full Of Flavour. Small restaurant with mouth-watering food. Service is good and the food is full of flavour. Prices are just a little high for a small european restaurant in the middle of reservoir. Example: the price for a lovacka (large meat patty stuffed with cheese) I would expect to pay no more than $19. The restaurant charges $24. I believe if prices were just a tad lower, it would definitely be a great place to eat! I love the live music. Perfect touch. Will definitely come back on special occasions

Average. Great service, disappointed with the food, the pork was dry the cevap were too fatty therefore rubbery and to me red onions and meat don't go well together, very average but very pricey.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dinned well. Love this restaurant. We've been here many times and it never disappoints.Its a family owned bussines and the owners, staff are wonderful.The food has many conflicting flavours.You can describe how the flavours meld and marry together to form a perfect union creating the ultimate dish. I like to make the dish sound visually appealing so that whoever is reading it can picture it in their head. Our meals were delicious and presented beautifully. Service was also great - friendly and helpful staff and everything delivered efficiently. The live music gives it a exceptional touch,sets out a good mood , specially when the singer looks like Armando Assante - graet voice!<br/>Graet selection of wine, tasty food that just melts in your mouth, beautifu music, master chefs and most importantly of all graet owners..<br/>I recommend this place to everyone..

The best charcoal grill in Melbourne. My first time that I have visited the restaurant and the first impression was excellent. It has great service and good quantity of food and salad. We had the lovacka pevskavica and it was the most delicious burger I've ever had. This restaurant out stands all over Macedonian restaurants in the area. It's a perfect place for meat lovers.

Impeccable restaurant in terms of food, staff, atmosphere and everything.. but their beautiful black haired bartender is something else. Not ashamed to admit that I always request for the table next to the bar so I'm in full view of the European beauty serving me delicious drinks. If not for anything else, visit this restaurant for a glimpse of her!

Za merak!. Great food, highly recommended. People complaining about customer service should realize that in typical Macedonian restaurant tradition you should order your main and entree at the same time. While you are waiting for your main you should enjoy your entree "Shopska Salad" with some "Rakija" shots and a friendly conversation. Try it next time you are there and thank me later.

Great Macedonian Experience. Kaneo serves great and affordable Macedonian. My experiences at Kaneo have always been positive both in terms of quality of food and customer service. The servings of food are very generous and prices affordable. I think reviews thus far are very harsh on a restaurant which deserves much more credit. Be sure to have some topeno sirenje (melted cheese) as that is one of the highlights of the menu. and a taste of traditional Macedonian rakija/ beer/ wine is a must.

Food fresh and well cooked. Alot of meat, not for vegetarians that's for sure. Customer service quite poor as we stood waiting for a good 5 minutes before a staff member even surfaced to help us with a table and menus. We had to ring the restaurant phone number to get someone to come out and help us.. otherwise we would have been standing there all afternoon. Food itself was good and customer service there after acceptable.

Lunch Spot for Meat Eaters. Have been lunching here regularly mid week, having seen changing of owners & refurbishments. Great menu, with a great variety to suit all. The traditional Macedonian meals, washed down with great Macedonian beers of course, is a must. Friendly staff & great service. A must visit for lunch.

Poor Customer Service. Having a reservation - Staff still managed to make it a chaotic night. the lack off poor customer service was beyond belief - 55 minutes later we received half an order - ? The waitress where the remainder of the order was - she stated that we had only ordered 2 meals - clearly 4 people waiting for 4 meals.We reminded her that she had read the order back to us - no use what so ever - our rude waitress continued to argue with us repeatedly!<br/>TYPICAL MACEDONIAN customer service portrayed!!<br/>Do yourselves a favor give this place a BIG miss!!!!

Great.. The first time I've had Macedonian food, and loved it. No skimping on the servings either. Friendly place with lovely staff. Highly recommended. Especially the sarma.

The way it ought to be.... Simple, traditional, scrumptious Macedonian cuisine. "Char grilled" means just that...they've got it so right - I am prepared to say it tastes better than anything I've ever had (even whilst living in MKD). The decor, the service, the classic evergreen tunes - I've fallen in love. Can't wait to share this little magical pocket with all my friends and shout them to unforgettable step back into "Kaneo"....Just wait and see ;)

Great Macedonian food, so glad I discovered it!. Amazing, traditional Macedonian food. The mixed grill was delicious. The shopska salad was fresh and simple - the way it should be. The gravce was also tasty. I booked this restaurant for my dad's 60th birthday and we all enjoyed the food and music. Very nestalgic ambience, it felt like were dining in Bitola. <br/><br/>The band were also very accomodating making special announcements and singing happy birthday. A very personable dining experience. Suzana, the owner, introduced herself to us and kept us informed during the entire night, they even allocated a table in the restaurant for the birthday cake. Looking forward to dining there again!

Yummy MK food. Great place to satisfy those cravings for traditional Macedonian food. The best 'Sarma' I have had in a long time! Other great dishes that I would recommend are 'Tavce Gravce' and the oh sooo good 'Selsko Meso'. Compliments to the chefs, we will back again very soon! :) One negative point, despite the music being good I thought it was a bit too loud...

This place is an oasis in the Reservoir desert. Good, honest Macedonian food in a nice space. Unpretentious, attentive service and the food is great in that eastern European, put some flesh on your bones, sort of way. We had the country meat dish - tender meat with cheese and mushroom- delicious. The shopska salad is fresh and honest and the potatoes are amazing. If you are not too worried about the calories, and want some good tasty comfort food that I have never seen offered anywhere else, then this is the place. Really think a more imaginative name, suggestive of the food would be an improvement though.
