Visited to try out the famous St Domenico bottomless gnocchi and spritz. Gnocchi was delicious - my favourite was the pesto. We had 3 serves of Gnocchi between 2 people and were so full by the end.

Last week we had the best Italian dinner @stdomenicorichmond where their pizzas, pastas and anti pasto entree everything just made our tastebuds satisfied and content. What we had: We started off with an aperol spritz and a limoncello spritz, both were so extremely refreshing to drink. For an entree, we had the antipasto board with three types of cured meats, rocket, three types of cheese, pickle and biscotti. Everything was so fresh and perfectly balanced in this board. The cured meats were of best quality and so were the cottage cheese, cheddar and blue cheese. Next we had a seafood pasta, that was immensely flavourful, tasty and so addictive in taste. The light taste of the pasta balanced so well with the perfectly cooked seafood like prawns and mussels. Highly recommended. Also we had a mushroom pizza with truffle and leg ham. Oh my this one is so perfect for truffle lovers. The thick intense taste of truffle laced with the cheese and the thin crusted pizza is so incredibly yum. This one is definitely a must try. For sides, we had Italian potatoes, more like thick wedges of potatoes deep fried and laced with herbs, tasted so crispy and delicious. Also this place has a lovely ambiance and a giant portrait of St. Domenico adorns the wall of the restaurant. The prices of the items are very standard but they do lot of weekly specials as well. So guys checkout this lovely Italian spot @stdomenicorichmond this week with friends of family to have an unforgettable and an awesome Italian feast.

We were fortunate enough to be invited to the amazing St Domenico for their delicious bottomless gnocchi deal $35pp (with drinks $59pp). Safe to say that their Gnocchi was delicious, fresh and so tasty, we got to try their Gnocchi with Napoli, Gorgonzola and their Sorrentina (our fav), all so creamy, great amount of sauce to gnocchi ratio, well cooked and tasty! Such great serving sizes and value for money! The gnocchi, cooked to perfection soft and delicious. We also got a sneaky try of their Bruschetta which was super fresh and a great starter

Excellent pizza, had it takeaway last weekend and went to the restaurant for takeaway. Customer service was very good, called me Robert instead of Richard but was a little loud inside. Very nice restaurant staff, thank you

If you are a chilli lover, you shouldn’t miss the Linguini Gamberi.Everything is perfect here. Will come back soon.

St Domenico is a small and cozy restaurant in Richmond specializing in signature Napoletana-style woodfired pizzas and handmade pasta. They have a very extensive menu with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options available. I visited with my friend who is allergic to tomatoes, but it wasn’t an issue at all since there were heaps of pizza bianca/white pizza options. I tried their Romana Pizza, which had a deliciously rich and smoky woodfire flavour, with that distinct slightly charred crust. It was a generous size too. The Gnocchi Pesto was perfectly soft and pillowy, with a silky-smooth texture that made it such a delight to eat. Highly recommend St Domenico if you’re looking for the perfect date night spot with fun vibes and great food! 💃🍕

If you like hard gnocchi, bland pizzas and lying menus, this is the place for you! Where do I even begin? Was looking forward to a night out with the girls at this “Pizza Bar”. First off, we ordered 4 margaritas which were served to us with Vodka only instead of Tequila and Cointreau (menu listed these ingredients on the menu). No apologies for this at all, tasted like we were drinking Solo and Salt. Food was extremely bland and pizza was served cold. We were also denied our request to add olives on half of the pizza. I know this request might not be possible during peak hours, but this was 5.30pm and we were the only people in the restaurant. We did our best to eat what we could, but we could only take so much. We were also denied when we asked to split the bill between 4, it’s like we were asking them to pay the bill themself! $60+ per head for average service and below average food, save your money!!!! Edit: After reading the reviews on this joint you can see the owner or manager reply to almost all of the low rated feedback in an extremely rude manner. If you are going to reply to this and put the blame on us as customers, please do not bother. Would be much easier to accept that your restaurant is mediocre (at best) and work on fixing this.

Fantastic restaurant, simply and comfortable! Staff always available to give advices, keeping the smile!! The owner is a really nice guy, to make some jokes with after your meal! Had the most amazing meal here last night. Had the fungi gnocchi, a beautiful pizza and nutella donuts. Food was so so good!! Service was lovely and i honestly would recommend this place. Definitely left a few kilos heavier haha.
Karen Coleiro
First time at this restaurant, service was excellent and very impressed with food, will definitely recommend this little gem to all , not often the 3 of us all are happy with our food 👏🏻🍷🍕🍝

Found this place of urban list on Facebook ! Well worth the drive up from Geelong ! Can't wait to go back for the meatballs and Nutella donuts. !
Brent Petherick
After their delivery partner failed to deliver our pizza last night we gave the restaurant a call to see what could be done. In true Italian style of looking after the neighbourhood they swung into action and had food delivered to our hungry selves within minutes. They even threw in some extras to make up for the delay. We've been going here since the day we moved to Richmond three years ago. We love these guys not to mention the best pizze outside of Napoli! Thanks for your primo hospitality as always.

"I come from an Italian family and I really miss the food of my homeland. Here in Melbourne it is hard to find a good traditional pizza. But a few weeks ago, some friends recommended me St. Domenico Pizza Bar in Richmond. After months, I finally felt the Italian taste in my mouth again. The pizzas are wonderful, and the Homemade Cannelloni is divine. The staff are friendly, the service is fast and the atmosphere is amazing. The price also is very good. If you love Italian cuisine or you are looking for a delicious dinner you need to know Domenico Pizza Bar."
Jason Glackner
Disappointed with both pizzas order tonight. Arrive cold, packet ham, not 'off the bone as listed in menu, minimal toppings. Definitely not worth $22 each. Won't order from here again!!
Chris Andreou
Great food and even better service it’s definitely a place to try and return to
Anne-Marie Hober
St Domenico's serves the world's best prosciutto! This is authentic Italian. Their food is wonderful and so is the service. The mural on the wall is beautiful too!
Yyan Ng
The first authentic Italian pizza I've had in Melbourne. The essence of a good Italian pizza, start with a good flour(imported from Italy) and good hand tossed base, get the best ingredients and do very little with them(including putting just enough on the pizzas). Attentive service and passionate owners. If you want to know how a pizza should taste like, forget the rest come eat here.
Eddie Olek
Tanya and I went there last night. This is SERIOUSLY good Italian food. Simple. I had the gnocchi ala carbonara. Made correctly (no crram, egg and ham folded through the gnocchi) absolutely delicious. We will return!
Brittany Edwards
Home made meatballs and the best pizza a person can taste !! Plus the staff are so good with service and are super friendly! Can not wait to go back
Le Dominique
Really enjoyed our food and wine. Dessert was great!
Steve Koszman
What a wonderful experience. Polite servers. Great pizza. Tasty dessert. This place is a must visit for Italian food. Plus..they offer take out and delivery!
Benn-Soraya Taplin
This is our go-to pizza restaurant in Richmond. Light base means we never feel too full and heavy, so we can fit more in. Highly recommend.
Justin Tang
Had two pizzas to share today, best pizzas I've had thus far. The service was beyond fantastic with Maurizio being more than informative and helpful in helping me decide what to eat. Recommended to anyone who's a pizza lover, even if you hate the crust (even that's good here)
Burgers Of Melbourne
Ordered Pizza and Donuts from St Domenico and dayumm have you ever seen a donut look so good! Very authentic pizza, nice and fluffy crust and donuts that need more hype. Get down and visit ASAP!
Greg Burn
I reccomend to support this small business. Great people and delicious food.
Jeffry Hernandez
Great food during COVID quarantine. Amazing deals. Very polite customers service.
Amalka Ferdinandez
The pizza in this place is authentic and delicious. The 3 main ingredients which make a pizza great (dough, tomato sauce, mozzarella) are all top tier and balance each other beautifully. The dough is soft and the tomato sauce acidic and sweet enough at the same time. As an aside Pizzas are also big so make sure you are hungry enough
Tim “Random Channel” Qin
overally good
Birdman
Didn’t enjoy it all that much, I felt that it could have been a bit hotter also. I think there are better pizzas in Richmond.
Charles Barnes
It Looks like Doc has finally serious competitors around. The antipasto specially the cured meats are very fresh, original flavour from Italy. The prosciutto Pizza was beyond any expectation. Crusty edges, light and soft dough, tasteful ingredients. Amazing
Eliza Rowen
Classy italian restaurant. Good food and ambience.
George Aston
This place was run by a certain manager Robert in the past. He was giving negativity and toxicity to this place. Thanks god the owners have given back to this beautiful spot credibility, good food and good service. I had my first dine in meal after the covid restrictions. This is a real traditional italian napoletana style pizza. Salami was superb. Grazie
PatrickDalbono
This lovely italian gem on bridge road isn't your next door pizza place. The elegance of the store, the top quality of its ingredients and the very attentive customer service locate this place easily in the top ten "italian restaurant pizzeria" in Melbourne.
Has recently changed hands to an italian guy who gives more authenticity to the venue. Great take away deals always on too.Highly recommended
Giorgia Minciotti
Excellent!!!
I couldn’t be more satisfied!!
Great service, very nice location and AMAZING food, one of the best in town.
I will 100% come back.
Thanks St Domenico!!
Andrea Featherstone
Hands down best gluten free pizza in Melbourne! Love this place, we come here often, the pizza is SO good (, properly Italian, (both gluten free and regular pizza is epic). Really friendly, easy going staff, no pretentiousness. Especially love the patate pizza with added truffle paste!
Debby
Service was very friendly, helpful, and quick. The pizza was thin and crispy but doesn't stand out that much. Pasta was Al dente but lacking any flavour too.
Eric
Great dinner experience. The place is fantastic , cozy and smells italian. The owner is a gentleman and treat customers like family. The pizza was awesome, perfectly cooked and top quality toppings. we had the ortolana and prosciutto. the gnocchi bolognese simply delightful. We also had a look in the kitchen when they were rolling the new dough and the prepare the fresh gnocchi. I highly reccomend this place if you like italian hospitality! Well done
Jessica Brisbane Foodie
The meals are premade and preheated. We ordered fettuccine and gnocchi and it was clear it was premade and not fresh. The food came out in 5 minutes and when you try to swirl the pasta it would break. Really bland and tasteless. Not impressed.
Tina Reardon
Great service, food was fantastic and very authentic. Fast service. Attentive staff and a great price. We will definitely be back. This is our favorite place in Richmond. Ciao! 🍕
Codaholic
Decent local pizza and pasta shop with authentic Italian style pizzas. Bases were great and good flavours (the truffle pizza was excellent). Service was attentive. Solid and entirely adequate for a quick meal on date night
Emersonrose
Absolutely amazing pizza. Cannot fault it. My new favourite pizza place! Tiramisu was lovely too!
Ngocolat
This is dad's favourite place to eat out. And that says a lot. This is also my favourite pizza spot for Prosciutto pizza! The gnocchi gorgonzola was delicious as well, a tummy warmer and definitely a must if you love blue cheese.
Saranee De Silva
Delicious pizza and pasta. We got the italian sausage, apple and balsamic pizza. Never had this combo before but it was delicious! So nice to try something new. The base was crisp with a lovely, chewy crust. We also had the gnocchi funghi. A lovely mushroom and cream sauce that wasn't too heavy and was seasoned perfectly. Excellent service as well! Thanks guys! We will be back!
Meaganhogan1
What a great yum pizza & pasta! Got the margarita with the pesto gnocchi & was a great combo! Thanks for great service & a great meal! Also is BYO
Rhiannon Fairlie
Lovely little Italian, trattoria-style restaurant. Everything we got tasted fresh and delicious. The gnocchi was especially a highlight. Can’t recommend enough, will be back.
Sean Romero
The last two times I passed by, St Domenico was closed! But last night was third time lucky, and it was worth the wait. The arancini starters were nice (although not mind blowing - but I'm a tough critic with arancini, as my wife is Sicilian), but the pizzas were the star. We ordered the capricciosa and salsiccia (sausage) (which had a nice sweet twist with apple and balsamic vinegar) pizzas, which were both cooked to perfection. The dough was tasty, and the toppings plentiful. What's more, the service was friendly and prompt. We'll be back!
Mrs Mark
As an Italian restaurant you can’t get the basics wrong. Unfortunately this place has. The bruschetta was terrible and tasted like old toast. The pizzas and pastas weren’t much better (the gnocchi was closer to potato mash than pasta). I’m still fuming with my poor restaurant choice.
Linda
Pros: the pasta was delicious! Very flavoursome and generous in portion.

Cons: the pizza was only mediocre. Finished a whole pizza by myself as it wasn't as filling (pizza had a thin crust and toppings were minimal).
The Epicurean
Truffle pizza and meatballs were delicious!
Fantastic customer service. There was an error with my order and they went out of their way to fix it, which I greatly appreciated.
4.5/5
Mazyiar Saleem
Nice service and ambience. Pizza was good and Gnocchi was great! Dessert was also a treat.
Good for a relaxed dinner with friends, and would definite be come back.
Ruchir Soni
Authentic Italian food! Will come again..great food and great service!! Desserts were truly amazing and pizzas were delicious :) the pasta sauce was exceptional
Nicola Collins
Delicious pizza just like they make it in Italy! The staff were wonderful and allowed us a taste test to try the wine. Definitely worth the visit 😍
Jason
Had a great time here for dinner where I ordered the carbonara. The home made pasta was amazing and was paired with great company. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good night out.
Chris Hanane
Great little pizza pasta joint in Richmond
Really enjoyed the menu and the speedy service allong with the good pricing not too expensive at all..

Great food!
Awesome dessert!
I liked the lights at the venue...
Cheese crumbed balls are delicious along with the slow cooked lasagna bolognese
Unobsequious_Sarah
Delicious pizzas. Ordered the San Daniele, Sant’ Antonio Abate, Sant’ Anselmo and the San Martino. All were fantastic although highly recommend the Sant’ Antonio Abate with roasted apple and balsamic! Unexpected combination but so good!
Aasha.riordan
Yummy pizza! Especially liked the pork and fennel sausage with apple pizza. Very filling. Would definitely recommend this place. Staff are very friendly and helpful too :)
Torie Ryan
Had the gnocchi fungi, fettucini Napoli and a bruschetta part of a large group. Pastas were delicious, the bruschetta was nice but overpriced. Good place, would return.

Made a reservation for 7pm for 2 people. Arrived on time and waited at door for 3 mins to be acknowledged by rude staff. We told them we had a booking and they said to wait while they worked out a table. It was clear that they had overbooked and there was no table for us. Staff were not communicating well, running around frantically and didn’t make an effort to accommodate whatsoever. We gave up and left. Rude staff will
Sophie Grumley
Delicious pizzas and great service 🙌🏼 meals came out in a timely manner and will definitely be back for another round!! Service from staff unreal!!
Michael Monaghan
We had the arancini balls they were reallllly good!, the truffle pizza and my gf had one of the veggie ones. They were great. Do recommend. Really good pizza. I rate this place!
Amanda Gan
Nice ambience and food! Chill place to hangout and chat. It’s a pity that the food is not as value for money due to its small portion sizes.
Alex
Pizzas were very authentic- thin crust with great ingredients. Made a booking the same night and got a table, staff were very accommodating and made room in the busy restaurant for four of us. Also plus that it is BYO wine
Bfm
Great menu with a wide selection of pizza and pasta, with some unique pizza combinations. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Easy to book online. Only downside was the delay in serving the pizza.
Sarah Jones
Absolutely love the pizza at St Domenico, awesome traditional pizza that takes me back to being in Europe. Everything that I have had has been fantastic but the San Mario is by far the best. If you have a sweet tooth try the Nutella Calzone
Anthony Rosamilia
Best bruschetta in Melbourne. It tasted absolutely superb. Also really enjoyed the wood oven pizza and authentic style toppings. The table service was great and the waiters friendly. Overall - great experience.
Joshua Ephraums
Very friendly wait staff and delicious pizzas. I was very happy with the overall experience and I would definitely come back to this restaurant again
RK
Had the funghi fettuccini to take away for Friday dinner. Food was ready within 10mins of ordering. It’s hot even when picked up 15 mins late. Staff was very friendly. Pasta was delish with a good amount of sauce!
Katy D
LOVE the pasta and pizza!! So authentic, freshly made pasta and the pizzas are thin but fluffy dough...all great flavours. Also BYO which is a plus, $10 corkage but for us we still are saving a bit which is great. Definitely recommend
Britt Ryan
St domenico has the best woodfired pizza! love the prosciutto one its the best and the bruschetta was a very generous serving. would recommend!

Came for Tuesday Pasta Night and it did not disappoint. Spaghetti Napoli is super fresh and flavoursome, and the arancini are not to be missed! Service is great too!

Hanayoridango
Very nice pizza and pasta - we had pear and rocket salad, lasagna and Napoletana pizza. All fresh and tasty. Great service, too. Reasonable pricing for the location.
Jason Lu
Great place for freshly made pasta!! We had the gnocchi and spaghetti carbonara and it was well brilliant. Definitely worth a visit if you’re near the area
Zoe Hewett-Batt
Amazing food, gnocchi was amazing, waiter only added to the experience. Would recommend! Would recommend the wine also, which the staff kindly recommended to suit my meal!
Yum In My Tum
We love coming to St Domenicos for the great waitstaff, delicious pizza and it is the perfect spot for a wine and catchup. The cheese board is spot on!
Giacomo Tadiotto
Lived in Italy for a very long time and love a good pizza. St Domenico has friendly staff, amazing pizza and good wine! Highly recommend!!!!
David Kilcommons
Lovely dinner at St Domenico. We shared 2 pizzas - the prosciutto and the salami. The pizzas were a little slow to come out but when they did they were worth the wait. Good atmosphere and v friendly staff
Adam Iacona
My girlfriend and I came here for an authentic homestyle Italian pasta, and St Domenico's delivered!!
The pizza's also looked very nice and we'll surely be back to try them next time.
Jerry P. MacMillan.
Have been wanting to visit this little pizza shop for a while and finally gave it a go. After all the effort in finding a park on busy Bridge Rd Richmond, was disappointed.
Menu had all the goods but unfortunately could not deliver the bacon or should I say dough! Pizza dough needs a lot to be desired. Took away from the ingredients on pizza and felt short-changed....overpriced and cannot deliver on the hype.

My wife did not enjoy her pasta, too oily and portion not worth a mention. At least could not muck up drinks.

However the host/manager was trying on the humour, which was unfortunately not funny or tasteful like my pizza. He was overbearing, and my wife felt uncomfortable with him lurking around.
Overall cosy looking place lacking personality, average food but not average pricing. You also get some poor, stand-up comedic work from host with your pizza. Extra topping with no extra cost.
Kieran Smith
Gnocchi and salami pizza were both absolutely delicious. The flavors here are terrific. With the great wait staff i can definitely recommend going to this restaurant!
Emmyburrell
Love the delicious, authentic Italian cuisine at St Domenico. We started with arancini, light and buttery, followed by the calabrese salad, which was very fresh. For mains we had the San Nicola pizza, with truffle paste which I can highly recommend and lasagna which was delish.
Sam Burrell
Nice place, indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat outside and ordered Arancini, caprese salad, lasagne and san Nicola pizza. Quality is great, slightly more expensive than normal although tastes is really nice. Had to ask for bread, oil and balsamic for the caprese salad.
Caleb Griffin
Thank you St Domenico for a delicious feed. Nice and convenient place, close to home. Ordered the Benedetto Pizza. It was great and service came with a smile.
Sam Saliba
Nice food and friendly service. Order the Arancini for entree it was quite plain. Mains was pizzas, salami and pork and fennel sausage which were very nice with a great base. Thanks St Domenico, we’ll be back
Sophielemkke
They have a lot of nice food and nice people. The pizza is very fresh and so are the ingredients in here it. I would highly recommend coming here.
NTLS
Great pizza bar with super friendly service and some interesting pizza choices.
Pizza base is nicely thin.
We tried pizza with truffle paste and Mantovana pizza. Recommended both choices for something different.
Avouzas
The pizza was amazing, we had it with the pear rocket salad. The food was fresh and the staff were really friendly, with quick service. Definitely recommend!
Eddie Olek
People, this is SERIOUSLY good Italian food. Best gnocchi ala carbonara I’ve had in a long time. As Molly would say.... do yourself a favour!!
Geordiefyfe
Beautiful home made fresh pasta. Absolutely delicious!! The food is so authentic and service was also so great. Couldn’t ask for more.
Go the pesto gnocchi or prawn linguine. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
C
Unfortunately my experience with St Domenico doesn't match with that of most of the other reviewers here. Shared two pizzas and found them to be pretty underwhelming, and relatively expensive given both the sparseness of the toppings, and of that less than two thirds of each pizza being covered.

Had the San Pietro seafood pizza, which could have done with more seasoning, and the seafood wasn't exactly anything to write home to Positano about. The Sant Antonio with sausage was tasty enough, but there would have been less than half a sausage worth of meat over it and a handful of thin slices of apple.

At ~$25 each for a pizza I expected a lot more. I thought St Domenico deserved a crack based on previous reviews; maybe it was a bad day but I'm not particularly keen on trying here again.
Nicholas Ball
Had the arancini balls for entree, they were extremely crunchy and flavoursome paired with a light sauce. The gamberi for mains was extremely flavourful. Will definitely return when in the area.
Cecilia Pettersson
Amazing food and the service is just outstanding.
The Pasta is the BEST Melbourne has to offer!!
Pizza is AMAZING!!
Service 10/10
Best place in Richmond to have a wine and relax after a hard day at work.
Christopher Bilston
Food and service were both top notch, highly recommend. Shared a pizza and a plate of pasta, both were delicious and will definitely be back.
Courtneyjstephenson
Pizza was so delicious! Loved the gluten free bases. The prosciutto was a definite favourite. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back to try more.
Brooke Stephenson
Delicious pizza and good wine selection! We had the prosciutto pizza and the SAN Benedetto pizza, highly recommend both. Wonderful service also!
Michael.mrsn
Great pizzas and lovely service. The prosciutto pizza was fantastic. Love finding a good pizza place so close to home. Will definitely be back!
Mitch Rutherford
Great pizza and a good ambiance! They clearly use quality ingredients and take time in making it. Roughly $25 for a pizza. Very friendly staff
Leonie
Fantastic pizza, authentic taste.
Best pizza in Richmond.
Great service 😁
We loved our waiter. Will definitely come back.
Lots of vegetarian choices.
Good wine list.
Good value for money.
Anniemoseley
A great little pizza and pasta place on bridge road. Start with facaccia and arancini..... then the Saint Domenico pizza is delish and BYO wine makes this place a winner 👊🏼
Ro S
Loved it. The capricciosa was delicious. It tasted so fresh. The bruschetta was also very tasty. Would definitely recommend, can't wait to come back.
Megan Z
Had a delicious meal at St Domenico. We enjoyed two pastas and a pizza which came out promptly. Service was very personable and attentive. Will definitely be back again!!
Tim Santamaria
Best pizza in Melbourne. Hands down. And the chocolate gelato is sublime. Pastas are very good also, but hard to go past the pizza bases. Delivery is fast as well.
Remy.louisjoseph
Awesome pizzas including desert pizzas, very nice and friendly staff, reminds me of my local pizzeria back in Italy. Great atmosphere as well
Michael Jenner
BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD! Must try the pasta! The gnocchi is a MUST. I loved the Tartufo and the San Danielle pizzas the most! The service is great, friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my experience, definitely coming back again soon! Keep up the good work guys! And thanks Roberto again, for looking after us!
Carli Keogh
Staff are always lovely here! Food is superb, especially their pizzas. My new local favourite! The gnocchi is also incredible - they only have limited amounts though as it's made daily
Holly Chen
This place has so much to give! They have amazing staff, a cozy atmosphere and quick service. My Margherita was simply amazing! I also said that it was my friends 31st birthday and they provided a free dessert of our choice, which was very nice of them. I would highly recommend this place.
Angelo7272
Sensational staff, the feel of the place married perfectly with the amazing food, and those donuts!!!!! Always a pleasure coming to St Domenico on Bridge road Richmond. Every item on the menu speaks its own unique language 5/5
Lachlan Grant
Service and food are always exceptional. I love the salami pizza! And the arancini are amazing! The place can get busy but the pizza is to die for!!
Suzie Scribbles
Tucked away amongst the seemingly endless eateries of Bridge Road, St. Domenico don’t have the flash, or instagrammableness of some of the other local eateries, however, what it does have is some great food. The decor is simple, and this small restaurant definitely has an all-round appeal with it’s classic Italian cuisine, and a fairly decent wine list given its size. We visited on a Monday and the atmosphere was calm and laid back – offering a change from some of the more hectic, loud eateries in the area. Ideal for a chilled out catch up with friends.
C.denhardt
One of the best establishments on the Bridge Road strip. I have dined here on several occasions and always enjoyed my evening due to the well mastered menu and staff. The dishes are faithful to the authentic, Italian cuisine. I highly recommend visiting this dinner venue.
Sophiegmccann
Amazing pizza!!

Some of the best pizza and pasta I've had in Melbourne. Add the great service and you've got one of the nicest venues I've dinned at recently.

Grab a bottle of wine from the bottle shop a few doors down and you'll have a great time.
Callum Spencer
The pizza is great, I had the San Marino and the San Domenico, both were amazing. Service is good and the food comes quickly. The general environment of the restaurant is nice with its easy going staff and general aesthetic appeal.
Dan Harley
We booked with high hopes for this joint and we were promptly let down upon entering. The place looked clinical and starved of any ambiance, the manager seemed uncomfortably stressed and it was alarmingly empty for a Saturday night. The $15 calamari entree was abysmally small and had absolutely NO flavour. Even the dip tasted like nothing. The pizza, the main attraction of the restaurant, was bland. The cheese again had no flavour and for $23, we felt robbed because there were hardly any toppings. The saving grace was the wine we had but ultimately we left to go a few restaurants down to finish off our night with a highlight.

This is a shame because while the premise of St Domenico's is good, the delivery is such a let down. I suggest adding more flavour, increasing entree quantity or at least making them proportionate to price, and working on producing some form of ambiance. Sorry, we will not be back.
Zoe Garkinis
Pizza was nice, got the San Daniele, much like many other places though..nothing wow about it. Overheard who I presume to be the chef telling off some other staff/people picking up uber eats which wasn't very nice and gave me a bad vibe about the place. It's quite small and busy so wouldn't recommend for a relaxed meal.
John Ballard
I am just back from three weeks in Italy, only to realise that the best Salsiccia pizza is to be found at San Domenico in Richmond. A pork and fennel sausage, roasted apple, fior di latte, sage and balsamic. In true Italian style, minimal topping, packed with flavour.
Aar Kay
Rude & Arrogant owner/manager. Average food, do not recommend! Owner treats the staff so badly, heard him yelling at the kitchen staff while ee were sitting in the restaurant. Worst experience.
Jonno H
It's great to have a more authentic-style pizzeria in the area, and it certainly delivered.

Really great flavours to choose from, and the bases themselves were delicious. We got the Napoletana and the Prosciutto and it filled us up!
Lisa Giles
My bf and I had heard about how authentic the food is at St Domenico, so we've been wanting to try it for a while. Finally, on a Monday night we decided to dine in, especially because it was $17 pasta night! I ordered the gnocchi fungi, and he ordered the fettuccine carbonara. Both were lovely, but we agreed that my gnocchi literally melted in our mouths! The pasta was definitely authentic and homemade, and so soft and silky! We also shared a pizza between us (the ham mushroom rocket and balsamic pizza), which was really tasty too! Great pizza base and crust, and the balsamic added a really great flavour. We will certainly be coming to eat here when we are craving Italian food!
Som
Been to this place once but ordered UberEats multiple times. Love their pizza and pasta. My Italian friend says this place has the best pizza! Desserts are amazing too. Love their Nutella pizza and doughnuts.
Lauren Maree
Do not come here!!!!!!! This restaurant is far below average. We ordered entrees, mains, sides and desserts and everything was a let down. The pizzas lacked depth of flavour, were overcrowded with cheap ingredients and were wet and soggy, the portion size for the calamari was pathetic and came with a teaspoon of aioli, and I have definitely had better gnocchi. The manager was rude and looked stressed the entire time. To be honest, it was an embarrassing excuse for an Italian restaurant. Don't understand the high rank.
Chippie
Friday night pizza delivery ordered from St Domenico. Very tasty salami pizza. Lovely pizza base. This will become our regular pizza place when we order in.
The best GF pizza I've ever had, hands down! Best to wash it down with an Aperol Spritz if you can. Great service and enjoyable ambience. The 2 for 30$ take away deal is a ridiculously good deal too!
Nikstah
Loved this place! Service was fantastic and the food was very tasty. It was a Tuesday, so we enjoyed pasta night - $17 for freshly made pasta and sauce of your choice. I would definitely go back.
Yourmelbournefoodguide
Love the pizza here! Authentic and delicious - staff are friendly and service is good. Recommend the San Daniele and the salsiccia. No doubt best in the area!
@twogoodtoresist
St domenico is now offering Monday and Tuesday "pasta nights" and you'd be crazy to miss out. Authentic, delightful and tasty pasta with a truly Italian charm, their pasta tastes like it's straight out of nonnas kitchen. The basics (Napoli, bolognaise etc) are just 17$! An absolute bargain and you choose your pasta- gnocchi, fettuccini etc. We tried the chicken linguini and the gnocchi Gorgonzola and both were fantastic! Light, flavoursome and fresh! Staff are extremely attentive too! If you like quick pasta which doesn't compromise taste or quality, then st domenico is for you!

Delicious pizza, definitely worth a visit! Overall great ambiance, with friendly and helpful staff. Fresh ingredients were used and you could tell.
Rachel Romanero
Worst restaurant experience I have had to date. First of all the wait staff were rude and it all made sense when we saw the manager and how rude he was speaking to his workers. If you treat them poorly they will treat your customers the same. The wait was to long and our food was average to say the least. Absolutely will not return here and will make sure none of my friends ever step foot in here.
Ben Northwood
Went here for their Monday and Tuesday fresh pasta night. Love that the restaurant isn't huge as it allows for great atmosphere whilst still plenty of space for a group. The house made pasta was delicious and the ability to choose from a few types of fresh pasta and match to one of 5 or 6 sauces means that I'll be coming back again and again and again. The service was friendly and attentive and the wine was delicious and not pricey. When the owner came and spent 20 minutes telling us the story of st domenico it really made us feel welcome.
Expect to see us there frequently guys!
Thanks.
Chloe
I really enjoyed the pasta and atmosphere of this place. The waiters were very friendly and accomodating when my friends and I wanted to split the bill. My only criticism would be that we waited a bit longer for the food but once it came, it was worth it. I had the spaghetti Bolognese which was really nice. I would definitely come back to try their pizza :)
Hannah
The best pizza in Richmond! Definitely my local go-to for both casual dine-in and takeaway. Always delicious. The staff are charming and attentive. Love this place
Krezelstephanie
The pizzas here are amazing - authentic wood fired deliciousness! The service was great and really quick also - highly recommend giving them a try!
Munchies
This is pizza perfection! The pizzas are traditional with a crispy base with a crunchy crust. Even a simple salami pizza is just brilliant because they use quality cheese and oil. A must try for pizza lovers.
MJ Cristino
St. Domenico's is one of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne - conveniently located to visit by tram or car as there is plenty of parking nearby. If you love authentic Italian pizza then this is the best place to dine in or get a delivery on those cold wet winter nights. The home made gnocchi is one of my favorites on the menu and don't miss out on their decadent desserts (affogato, canalloni or tiramisu) they are a total indulgence ! Most importantly the prices are quiet reasonable compared to other pizza restaurants in Melbourne with efficient friendly service to boot:)
Belal Hs
Great service, the waiter gave great food and wine recommendations. Amazing food, couldn't stop eating until I was about to burst! Great atmosphere, perfect place for a date or to grab casual dinner.
Will definitely be back soon.
Caitie Barrow
This was the yummiest Italian food. Everything tasted amazing and the service was the best I've ever had. We got the calamari, caprese salad and the margarita pizza. I will definitely be back soon ☺️☺️

Super friendly staff, Excellent service and the pizza had a really nice and light crust that was fluffy and crispy at the same time. Interiors were nice and simple and the atmosphere promoted conversation.
Pizza is authentic and they keep it simple, letting each ingredient shine and the waiter knew his stuff when it came to picking a good wine to go with it.We had the Mini nutella donuts for dessert and they were amazing. Must try. We'll definitely come back. Thanks Robert :)
Suresh Kumar
Worst pizza of my life... shit service.. I don't know why it exist. Waiting for 45 minutes for one pizza. Wish I can give them less than one rating
Alexa Magnifico
The food is amazing, especially the pizzas and pastas. Service is very fast considering the amount of people that come and the stuff are very friendly.
Ricco
My good friends from Fountain Lakes told me how much they enjoyed the experience of eating here and after reading the reviews I had to find out what all the hype was about.
Good very good in fact. I read that the pizzas are as close to what you would be served back in the country that pizza originated from (that would be Italy for you people that think Pizza Hut is where it all began).
The service was excellent the pizza's good and the mini donuts a must.
Was this the best pizza I have eaten????? Mr Smoke Stack is where my heart (stomach) lies.
Michelle78
Great food, great service. The kind of top quality authentic Italian pizza you would expect from a pizza bar in Melbourne's highly competitive food scene. With quality ingredients you can taste, pizza and other Italian favourites are on the menu here including a delicious Quattro Formaggi pizze and a delightful tira mi su. Friendly and knowledgable staff plus trendy interiors make for a place you want to come back to! Molto buona 🍕👌🏼😘

Definitely not the best pizza I've had but still pretty good. Restaurant is a little on the small side but that service is very good. The outside area is in need of little attention, not really inviting if you ask me. Overall worth a try.
Matt
Honestly some of the best pizza I have ever had. The pizza is a classic napoletana style with an incredible dough that was cooked perfectly. Toppings were high quality and delicious. Service was excellent. What more can I say? Go try it for yourself!
Luisa Cordoba
Delicious wood fired pizzas with fresh and authentic ingredients... and don't leave without trying some canolis
The customer service is great, very relaxed and modern restaurant. I would definitely go back!!
Francis Iezzi
St Domenico Pizza Bar is an authentic, elegant and friendly restaurant in Richmond. The attention to detail throughout reflects the owners passion for quality. For dinner we had the Prosciutto and Tartufo pizzas. They were so delicious and fresh. We finished with some ricotta cannoli and an espresso. The service was smart and the atmosphere relaxed. We will definitely visit again!
Romy Fournier
Definitly the best pizza i've ever had in Melbourne. Products very fesh and high quality. Small and quiet venue with typical italian music. Staff (mostly Italian) really nice and attentive. The Prosciutto pizza is delicious. I also tried the caneloni, which looks a bit small but really good and perfect to keep some room for a dessert. Bomboloni (kind of small donuts) are really good too. Looking forward to try more of their dishes !
Marina Lotulelei
Been here 4 times this year and the food here is always consistent and delicious! Totally in love with there Arancini rice balls 👌 really good service from the staff and it's always nice for the boss to interact with the customers. Nothing but good vibes 👍🏼
Caitland Brooks
Amazing service, amazing, authentic pizza (if you're vegetarian, get the ortolana), and byob--grab a bottle of wine at the bottle shop right down the street.

Hadn't intended to come here, only ended up here by accident once our booking at Bouzy Rouge down the road fell apart.
But so glad we came ! Food was so good, everything wr ordered was made with love. Pizza bases and toppings were fantastic, and the tiramisu was just lovely.
Service deserves a special mention,so attentive and friendly!
Will definitely return.
Sandy Kokoszka
Great experience here. Lovely waiters. Got the arancini balls, meatballs and truffle mushroom pizza. Panna cotta is exquisite! Would recommend.
Coffee Gelato
Monday night catch up with friends. We ordered the bocconcini filled with anchovies, prosciutto platter and mushroom bruschetta for entree. We were not blown away by any of these entree's, we found the bocconcini to be bland and some did not have anchovies in them at all, the bruschetta was soggy (too much cream and not enough mushrooms) and the prosciutto platter had some dry pieces of pancetta on it which was disappointing considering the price.

We then all ordered pizza's. I had the fennel sausage one and thought it was great, tasty and just enough toppings. One of my friends ordered the Gamberi (prawn pizza) and the prawns looked tiny, he did however state that the flavour was great. I tried my husbands salmon pizza and it was very salty (I think it was packed with too many capers and the salmon itself was already very salty).

The service was very professional and prompt and overall it was a pleasant evening.

2017 was the best Valentine's Day thus far and it all started in St. Domenico in Richmond. The service was exceptional, the antipasto was delicious, the Campari and Coca-Cola spritz eased digestion, and the pizza was the best I have tried to date in Melbourne. Thank you St. Domenico.
Jinhee Oh
Wow, we had San Daniel and St Domenico pizza. We just loved them. Especially st Domenico pizza which was topped with leg ham, mushroom and truffle was just amazing. And the service couldn't be better. My waiter helped me to try the wine which is going to be on the list very soon. It was such an elegant chianti. You can feel that this restaurant cares. I will def come back for the st Domenico pizza and the beautiful chianti wine:)
Good Food Good Mood
Delicious Italian. Crispy based wood fired pizzas and delightful mini doughnuts filled with your choice of Nutella or lemon curd (both amazing). While the menu is standard their execution of simple is strong. Great place to catch up with friends. Busy but not too noisy. I'll be back
Jimmy V-Rod.
Been here several times. The pizzas remind me of the pizza in Italy. What I mean is, they are delicious as a whole, but each element is also good. The bread is soft and crunchy, the tomato base is sweet and fragrant, the ingredients are all fresh. They use proper cheese and they don't over crowd the bread. If you want proper yummy moorish pizza try them out. If you want cheap salty mess, take a walk up the road.
Bronte Carmichael
These guys are the best! Best DOC procuito. Best gluten free base. Best staff. Go. Get a spritz. You won't regret. The cutest hole in the wall little genuine Italian woodfired pizza. Beautiful service and lovely atmosphere.
Abbey Griffin
Visited here to celebrate a friend's birthday last week. The food was excellent and the girl looking after us was very friendly, chatting to me while I waited for my friends to arrive. We ordered three pizzas between four and two serves of the main size calamari to share for entree. So great to see the old owners back here and running the place excellently once again - will be back soon!

Also - had the Nutella Calzone for dessert. It was HUGE!!! Could have easily shared it between two but ate the entire thing as it was so delicious! Got to try some of the Tiramisu as well which was to die for!
Monty Pineapples
Great pizza! It seems to improve each time I go back.

The service is fantastic and the staff go above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience.
Would highly recommend!!
Nicholas Galea
Really delicious, consistent and authentic cooking. Their pizza is definitely up there among Melbourne's best. Very welcoming and considerate staff who want you to enjoy their food. The restaurant itself is really well designed and decorated with the S. Pellegrino bottles and prosciutto display, gives a real Italian feel. The Fiat 500 with St. Domenico livery and PIZZE number plate is a great touch!
Renata
Came here for dinner last night with a girlfriend of mine, and loved it! We ordered the bruschetta to start, which was delicious the flavours were great, and good portion as well. We then ordered two pizzas, and honestly they were delicious! thin base, plenty of topping, and a good size. We are both dessert lovers so we ended up ordering two serves of the Nutella and salted Caramel donuts.. so so good!! Definitely worth a try!
Hugo
Can't fault the pizzas at this place, beautifully cooked and flavoursome. Has become a regular of ours for good quality take away, and a great choice for entertaining.
Max Tracks
Tasty pizza, excellent casual vibe and friendly, attentive staff. Their Sunday to Thursday pizza pick up deal (2 pizzas for $30) is great value.
Nicole Leech
I love the pizza here! The base is so tasty, as is the tomato sauce. Service is always friendly and efficient. A great authentic Italian pizza experience- Highly recommended!

We were pleased to be re-visit St Domenico recently and are pleased to report that everything is as good as it was!

Not your regular pizza shop next door, St Domenico creates upmarket, real Italian style pizza and pasta. If you are craving authentic Italian food and Napoletana style pizza, St Domenico will not disappoint.
Mahmud Hasan
My wife and I was searching for a good pizza restaurant around Carnegie/Malvern East/Camberwell or Richmond. We usually order pizza from Crust at carnegie, but our last experience at Crust was not good at all. So I choose St Domenico as I read some good word about this restaurant from some online food blog. Our first shock was, there were no beef or chicken option for the pizza and we don't eat pork. We thought, since it was authentic Italian restaurant (as the blog mentioned) it is only usual that they have either pork or seafood or vegetarian pizza.

We ordered a pizza with capers, anchovies and olive. I added some mushroom on top of that. And when the pizza arrived, it didn't do any justice to its price! The pizza was soggy and too much salty! We could barely eat it.

Next day I asked one of my Italian friends who is a chef and runs a cafe at Camberwell, about the saltiness of that pizza. He told me, the combination was not right at all. Quoting him specifically "May be they didn't know what they were doing!"

Good pizza... also delivery from here is spoy on cool little place to go one of the best pizza joints in richmond well done guys... cant wait to smash another slice
Cait
I have eaten in and had delivery both once, won't be doing it again. When eating in the main waiter was pushy and rude and when getting delivery it was soggy and bland. Very disappointing
Kiffdcosta
Great pizza & atmosphere. The waiters were really friendly as well! I had the pumpkin pizza & my boyfriend had the prosciutto pizza. Defs very filling! I did see a couple across from us who got 1 pizza to share & some smaller dishes, should have gone for that option, so might try that next time we go
Timinmelbourne
My friend suggested this place. I was looking forward to a traditional Italian pizza, like I have had in Italy.

Unfortunately this wasn't the best pizza that I've had. It was rather bland to be honest.

The base was good, but that was about it for me. I tried an aperol spritzer, and even that wasn't too good.

But the waiter was really good and give that he appeared to be working by himself for most of the time I was there in a full restaurant, he did an excellent job.

And I ate a full pizza by myself and I'm still hungry oddly enough.
Dalyronaldo
Had 2 pizzas, both very good. Also had the doughnuts and a coffee. Good food, excellent service and well priced. There was a nice ambiance also, will def go back.
Mav Mav
After waiting 2 hours for delivery we called st domenicos and they apolagised for missing out order. They said they'd send us an extra pizza and it would be here in 10 mins.
60 mins later we get a delivery that's 1 pizza short, 2 desserts heavy and all good is yuck.

I could make their cannelloni by buying a tomato paste and squirting it into a pasta and putting it in a microwave.

I can't even explain how much of a zero this place is. Go to dominos, same pizza but you save $50.
Mimi
We had our pizzas delivered. They were fresh and warm! The pizzas were delicious and they weren't soggy at all. The bases were thin and the crusts were soft. It is a tad pricey though and there's nothing spectacular about them that stands out other than the obvious taste and quality. The pizza size is a bit on the smaller size, I ordered a pizza to myself and still felt hungry afterwards. Nonetheless I would recommend and eat here again.
Tom
Amazing! Love this place, every pizza I have had from here has been 10/10. The base is sensational- proper napolitana style pizza. Also the arancini and mushroom bruschetta are the highlights. Highly recommend, they also do 2 for $30 pickups between 5-7 Sun-Thu
Anastasia Georgentis
Just ordered the best take away pizza ever. We had the Margherita and the Prosciutto pizzas and both were outstanding. Delicious base and tasty toppings involving quality ingredients. So lucky to have this place around the corner. Looking forward to eating in next time and trying out the desserts.
Martina
Really good pizza!!!!! Classic, authentic, quality ingredients!!! Service was also good and friendly.
I found them expensive but they are truly good! 👍🏼
Jorgia O'Donnell
Went for dinner last night! Service was great, very fast and the food was too. Loved the atmosphere, such a cute place. Would definitely recommend this Pizza Bar!
Ligia Fernande
I ate at St Domenico Pizza Bar and I need to say: the food is just AMAZING! It is a lovely restaurant with delicious plates and professional service. I ate a pizza that was so yummy!! And the desserts are awesome as well, I tasted the tiramisu but everything seems great. I really recommend it restaurant to everyone who want to try a fantastic Italian food!

I come from an Italian family and I really miss the food of my homeland. Here in Melbourne it is hard to find a good traditional pizza. But a few weeks ago some friends recommended me St. Domenico Pizza Bar in Richmond. After months I finally felt the Italian taste in my mouth again. The pizzas are wonderful, and the Homemade Cannelloni divine. The staff are friendly, the service is fast and the atmosphere is amazing. The price is also very good. If you love Italian cuisine or looking for a delicious dinner you need to know Domenico Pizza Bar.
Denny Patron
It's just ok. There is nothing wrong with the pizza here it just doesn't blow you away, and it's pretty expensive! Meatballs are fantastic though.
Crystal Atkins
Great pizza bar! Delicious pizzas and excellent service. The pizzas are what you expect when going to a pizza bar: Traditional and flavoursome. I absolutely love the Panna Cotta.
Freya
OMG this place is just superb. My fiance and I great fans of Italian / Mediterranean food, and have tried many restaurants but been disappointed so many times in the past. So it's been a wonderful discovery to find St Domenico. Fresh and full of flavour, I just LOVE the antipasto and salads. And pizzas - so many it's really quite difficult to pick just one. And desserts to die for. All fabulous menu choices and dishes made with passion, skill and premium quality ingredients, and even better when enjoyed in funky, relaxed surrounds and looked after by such a genuinely hospitable crew. Love it. Definitely recommend.
Brittany Edwards
Such an awesome restaurant where my boyfriend and I could not stop arguing over what was better the pizza or the Italian meatballs both were heavenly though! Service and staff were great and I can not wait to come back again !
Lo Kelly
Have their happy hour deal last week. only $30 for 2 quality pizza, which is tasty, yummy, cheap. Next time I want to try other. Will order again when I been there..
James Allan
Unfortunately for me, I'm gluten free. Fortunately for me, there's St Domenico. Hands down the best gluten free base in Melbourne with the best traditional toppings.
Great friendly service from the team makes you feel like a local - will continue to be a regular!
Carolina Rdz
I loved Italian food so i've tried a fare bit now and this place is my favorite! I would definitely come back. St Domenico bar gives you the authentic Italian experience , with pizza makers brought from Italy, right in Melbourne. I highly recommend it. The pizzas we ordered were with the highest quality ingredients and were absolutely delicious.
James
This place was fantastic. I had the Nutella pizza. I can't recommend it highly enough. The service was exceptional and you can't better than this place. Next time I'm going out I'll go here again.

I visited St Domenico Pizza Bar with my friends and ordered Canelloni. It was just awesome. Very friendly and professional staff. Everything is reasonably priced at this shop. Food is freshly prepared with awesome taste and flavour. Great service for a reasonable price. Highly recommended to pasta and Pizza lovers.
Melissa
Had my 22nd dinner here last week and couldn't have asked for anything better. The staff were so happy and helpful and the food was fast and 10/10. Hands down the best pizza I've eaten in quite some time... I also highly reccomend the arancini mmmm. Will definitely be back.

Quality venue. Quality service. Quality food.
Had the bruschetta and lasagne. And finished with the gelati. Brilliant.
Will definitely visit again!!

Thanks guys!!

I was looking for a truly authentic pizza restaurant whilst in Melbourne on business and was recommended to this place. Wow!! Being Italian myself I was blown away the authentic taste of the pizzas that I ordered another. It is s reflection obviously that the owners are truly passionate about their trade. I highly recommend this place to any person who loves good quality food at fantastic prices. 5 stars in every aspect. Thank you
Incredible Italian pizza, the base is always cooked to perfection and with delicious toppings. And the Aperol spritz special is such a nice touch! Service is always amazing too. Love this place
Rob
Excellent food, really friendly staff, 100% recommended
Maria Jose
I totally recommend this place, my favourite pizza is the 4 cheeses...also the nutella calzone is sooooo delicious! It's the best pizza in Melbourne, we have been there dozens of times.
Niko Machean
Best pizza in Melbourne. This humble establishment might look small in size, but provides the best tradional Italian pizzas in Melbourne. I've been to your sprooked up haunts of DOC and 400 Gradi and those places should be bowing to these guys. Special compliments to the chef, Valerio for the suggestions and artistry.
Sonya Smith
This has fast become my favourite pizza place in Melbourne. I travel from Mordialloc to come here!! I am a LOVER of Italy and when I'm in this little pizzeria I feel like I'm back there. The pizza tastes authentically Italian, their appertizers are delicious as are their desserts. I can't go passed a chianti or an Italian beer & the ristretto is a wonderful finish. All of their staff are amazingly friendly, warm and inviting and the service is pefecto. You can't help but thank them with a gracie, to which you will recieve a prego!! Which always warms the cockles of my heart and takes me straight back to Positano, Rome & Tuscany. Will my husband and I go back again & again? YES WE WILL!!
Patrick
Two of us dined in on a Friday night in March, visit #4 in as a many months. Ordered pizza only, unfortunately it took over 30+ minutes to arrive. On reflection, the signs were there: full house when we entered, some delay in obtaining service, etc. However a well run restaurant should not suffer when full...perhaps they were down 1 or 2 staff?

Unfortunately, there was no communication about delays in food at any stage, i.e either when ordering or waiting. Further, no acknowledgment of the delay when food was finally received or when paying, indicating they knew and didn't care or they thought the wait was normal, either way, not good enough.

Wish we could say the food was bad, but it wasn't. The Tartufo pizza is always on our order, and it is consistently tasty, the truffle oil really seals the deal!

p.s. aim for a table outside as the choice of decor inside (polished concrete floors, minimally decorated walls etc) means it's pretty noisy!
Michael McCallum
Dined here for an early dinner this evening. Amazing food and service, our waitress Valentina was so lovely and attentive. We will definitely be returning to sample more of the menu in the near future.
Chris Gryg
Proper pizza, one of the best in the city. Can't beat the San Benedetto and the Santa Lavinia pizza. The service is fantastic and the food is amazing. They use the best quality ingredients and it shows. The crust is perfect too. We go almost every week. Can't speak highly enough of this place. Get there early on a Friday, it's BYO too!! 5 stars!
Charlie Daniels (Curious Charlie)
St Domenico Pizza Bar was our dinner destination this week. A traditional Napolentana style pizza bar that opened this year. It's more of a pizza eatery then bar though. We ordered take away to have a pizza picnic at the park. Service was iffy.
Brittany
st domenico ! my girlfriend and I have recently relocated to Melbourne and the cultural hub that is Richmond, no where have we felt so at home then st domenico. The experience is real and food is sensational! I recommend leaning on the Italian wait staff for guidance on order, we love the st dominco special and the house Italian meatballs! X
LG
It is my pleasure to leave a 5 star review for St Domenico. My family and I dined there last night and received delicious food and excellent service. After accidentally ordering the wrong pizza (our fault completely - and the accidentally ordered pizza was actually amazing) we were presented with the correct pizza in a take-away box after we paid! Further to this they went out of the way to make the desert my sister wanted. Everything was just perfect, thank you St Domenico!

Dirty pizza is your typical takeaway staple found in basically every suburb in the country, best eaten with a beer in hand. While the ‘meat’ of questionable animal content and excessive quantities of processed cheese can be satisfying in the moment, there is often a sick feeling in the stomach in the aftermath. Dirty pizza is best consumed as a convenient and inexpensive mass-catering option and/or hangover breakfast.

Love St Doms. Great fit out and always extremely clean which is important. Probably the best pizza base going around, never feel overly full or bloated. Definitely give it a try.
Ashley
Terrible.
Ordered online with a 30min delivery expectation. After 30mins we received a call saying it would be another 60-90mins!!
Pizza delivery time - 93mins
Pizza temperature - terrible
Pizza taste - ok
Brock P
Got takeaway pizza to pickup, took 20mins longer than they said it would and then had no actioned any of the special request - olives all over the pizza when advised no olives. Pizza base was good but the toppings were quite sparse. Won't be going back.
Heidi
Friendly staff. Thank you Roberto, Valentina, Maurizio for making each visit a good one.
The pizza selection has a lot to choose from, Burrata cheese is so yummy. Must try.
Mia Campbell
Amazing pizza. An authentic crust with a really tasty tomato sugo as well as fresh ingredients. It is very Italian, with Italian wait staff and cooks. There is a great range of other meals too - great looking salads. The lunch deals are a good bargain too.
Christine S
St Dominico's is a great place to go on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a nice pizza and a good red! They don't complicate their pizza's with ingredients that you might find at these new hip pizza places such as added sauces on the top or double the cheese that you feel like you will end up being lactose intolerant when you walk out the door! Here they don't put too much topping on, they just give you enough to taste all the flavours and savour every bite! It's a great place which I will becoming a regular customer!
Putfoodinme_
Just the kind of Italian/pizza experience that Bridge road was lacking. Loved the casual vibes and attentive service. Pizza is good but not the best I've ever had. Definitely will come back for the mushroom bruschetta and to explore the rest of the menu.
Kein
Had the $12 lunch option (one main with no sides), ordered the Tartufo. Tasty, hearty portion, Good service, good price for the quality of food.

I had heard about St. Domenico through word of mouth from a number of friends who frequented the restaurant and could not stop singing its praises. After deciding to visit the establishment with my partner, I can honestly say her and I received the whole package in terms of service and quality of food and left more satisfied than we ever have anywhere else. I am normally not one to seek out and review a restaurant after dining, however I believe I would be doing the business and its owner a disservice if I didn't. I pride myself somewhat as a "pizza connoisseur" and have tasted all kinds of pizzas in over 15 countries and St. Domenico definitely stands out as a winner.

First and foremost, the establishment itself. Both the outside and inside of the restaurant reminded me of something you would see in Rome. Warm, cosy and welcoming and with great decor you would truly believe you are in Italy for your time there.

Furthermore, from walking in, you are kindly and warmly greeted by the more than friendly staff. We were promptly seated and offered a choice of sparkling (San Pellegrino) or tap water as well as any additional drinks to start with. While we ordered the drinks we had a look at the menu. Before we knew it, the waiter came back with our orders which was nice and refreshing as it was very busy at the time.

After receiving our drinks we took a minute to scan the menu and it was nothing short of spectacular. The menu has plenty of variety (delicious entrees, pizza, pasta, a meat lovers section, a seafood section and an amazing dessert section). The waiter promptly returned to take our food orders and I quickly ordered the Prosciutto pizza because of my love for the ham. My partner ordered the capricciosa and we also had an antipasto from the entree menu.

From receiving our food to finishing it, I can honestly say the only other place or country where I have experienced a meal as delicious as this was in Italy itself. From the first bite, I quickly picked up on the unique and delicious tasting base. All the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. The cheese was delicious and not the fake cheese you see at other pizzerias and the prosciutto was something out of this world. I actually asked the owner about where he sourced his prosciutto and he confirmed that it was a very high quality import. The food was amazing in taste and presentation (served on a board) and I was more than happy to pay a very modest price for the quality.

After dinner, we indulged in the dessert menu and ordered a MUST TRY in the "bamboloni" - italian style donuts filled with your choice of lemon curd or nutella (we had both!!) If you are desserts person, definitely give their dessert menu a go after eating a main!!

All in all, I would like to commend St. Domenico on an amazing job. They definitely know what they are doing in terms of design, customer service, pricing and quality food. I will definitely be back and have already begun spreading the word to all my pizza loving friends!

This one is a must try!!!

I almost didn't want to leave a review as I am scared that this place will become so popular that I won’t be able to get a seat... But I can recognise that the Pizza here is just SO GOOD that everyone should be able to try it! The Gluten Free bases are incredible, the best I have had! Great pizza, great service and an overall great addition to 3121.
Mario
Italian perspective: pizza here is authentic, tasty and with really quality ingredients. Staff is definitely friendly and prices adequate for the quality. Try the one with the Calabrese salami! Pretty hot but awesome

Is there anything in the world (aside from your luuuuv partner, that is) that tastes sexier than truffles? One of my best-remembered meals in Italy was a simple dish of freshly dug white truffles stirred in with scrambled eggs in a Piemontese hill town near the Maritime Alps. Since then, I’ve sampled truffle dishes wherever I could, and learned to discern the differences between the types. (White truffles are better than black, and the tartufi bianci from Lombardia are superior to the ones from Alba.) Almost everything outside Italy that says it’s “truffle-flavoured” gets its taste from artificially created oil brewed up in food additive labs. Having tasted the real thing, though, I gotta say the fake flavour is a dead ringer for it.

I don’t recall any pizza places that put truffle taste into their toppings. That’s why I was chuffed to order a “Tartufo” ‘za from St. Domenico when I rocked up with a $50 gift certificate from Zomato. (Thanks, mates!) It looks like St. D’s uses black truffle tapenade schmeered on their pie, under canned ‘shrooms and leg ham (only their “leg ham” is SO much better than the cheap stuff by that name that you get at La Porchetta, etc.) The flavour was erotic. You could rub this pizza on someone you’re frisky with and then lick it off...

St. Domenico is more about the crusts than the toppings, though. Like Napoletana pizza joints in Italy, they do a thin-crust, artisanal style hand-stretched base -- no mass-production cardboard here. I’m not sure how they prep it -- maybe run it under a salamander to finish? -- but it comes out with carbon-black bubbles on top edges from the pizza oven. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! It’s totally Italy-style Italian. The topping combos here are interesting -- mushroom, pork sausage and shredded potato on the Montara, anyone? -- but not ALWAYS Italian. Take the roasted apples on the Salsiccia pizza. Italians swear that fruit has no place on pizza, which is why many consider Hawaiian pizza to be an abomination. St. Domenico has a hip Neapolitan feel to it, but at least it’s not hidebound by tradition.

Great little pizza place!! Lovely food and wine, great staff...! Best gluten free base I've had. We had the San Daniele it's the best! Great flavones! MeatBalls and cheeses are also on point! My new go to pizza place in Richmond!!

We had dinner with friends all the food was excellent, the service was not so good the waiter struggled with English I thought I was in Italy at one point but we managed. Our mains were delivered to the table minus 1 so three ate while one waited until we had nearly finished with still it not turning up we cancelled the meal.No management apology for the mix up.And we also found that the air-conditioning was far too hot.But the food was really good.

First time there tonight for my daughter's birthday. Great food and great staff. Best pizza base I've ever tasted. Had the pescatora (? ) pizza that was very generously covered in fresh quality seafood. My daughter has her favourite a Margherita which was the best I've ever tasted. Don't think I'll ever order a Margherita again unless it's at this place.
Restaurant and spotless. Personally I usually judge a restaurant by the food AND the attention to detail in the non eating areas (Inc toilet) - (ok call me weird) and this place is in the top 2% I reckon. Will be back!

St Domenico is easily the best restaurant in Richmond. They serve authentic Italian food in a friendly atmosphere. The staff are cheery and welcoming. A great place to dine. Been there many times now. Love it.

My dad went here a couple of nights ago and could not stop raving about the pizza he had. When it comes to food he is a hard man to please so when I heard him talk about this place I thought I should try it out. A mate and myself went last night and all I can say is exquisite! Friendly staff greeted us and the service was polite and prompt. I think we spent longer looking at the menu than we did eating our food, it was very extensive and everything looked fantastic. The San Daniele (proscciuto and Fior Di latte) was out of this world. Fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The pizza base was crisp and delicious. Couldn't recommend this place anymore. Well done to the management, I really look forward to my next visit.

St Domenico encapsulates the Italian style of dining, urging patrons to "Mangia! Mangia!" in an intimate gathering while cherishing a meal which honours classical Italian flavours and quality ingredients. Not your regular pizza shop next door, St Domenico creates upmarket, real Italian style pizza and pasta. If you are craving authentic Italian food and Napoletana style pizza, St Domenico will not disappoint.

Tried out this place over the weekend and was surprised by the quality of the new management. The service was friendly, the prices were more than reasonable, and the food we got was awesome. Definitely recommending this place to friends and family.
Adrian 'El Tubbo' Koukoulas
We ordered meatballs for entree, two pizza's as mains and Nutella doughnuts for desert. All-in-all fantastic, food surpassed what is on offer at most places in Italy itself and service exceed expectations.

Will be back with my family for whom I sent a photo of the prosciutto pizza to.

If you love pizza, this is the place.

Won't go back. After a 1 hour 45 minute wait for delivery and many attempts to get in touch to follow up I was rudely told it would be at least another 45 mins to 1 hour. Not ideal at 9pm!! When I said I'd prefer to cancel the manager rudely yelled in the background down the phone that hat was fine (they had not even started our small order). No apology was given, and they made no attempt to keep our business. I've never experienced such appalling customer service, so much so that's it's made me write my first ever review on here!
Stephanie
I got takeaway from here, turn around was 5-10 minutes which was great, my pizza was absolutely delicious and the base was perfect. Can't wait to try all the other pizzas!!

We took our staff out for a great experience at St Domenico Pizza Bar in July. We had a fantastic experience overall, and this is my personal third visit to the restaurant - all as good as the last. When the pizzas and other meals are brought to the table you can immediately see that there is quality around the products being served up. Given that we dined as a group of 6, we had the opportunity to try many entrees and mains, and the feedback from the selection was fantastic. And then there is the dessert. The Italian Doughnuts are a must try!The service that accompanied the meals is very attentive... and genuine. It is great to have a Richmond pizza restaurant that delivery quality food and service, as well as the experience.Unless you are ordering a meal with ingredients not to your personal taste, it is hard to imagine that anyone will be disappointed. Look forward to returning again soon as do our guests.

Nowadays, visits to the area are usually reserved for eating purposes given the expanding dining scene and the clash in work and shopping hours. St Domenico brings to the area a traditional-meets-modern take on pizza among other Italiano dishes.

Amazing pizza! Traditional, Italian, top shelf. I highly recommend the pizza with truffle oil (ask the waiter for the one) and the pizza with apple and pork/chive sausage. Only downside is pizzas could be a little bigger...
Tian
Solid pizza and genuine hospitality. The manager is often out front greeting people by name.

The pizza is light, chewy and very tasty. Peroni on tap and a good wine selection. What more can you want

The best pizza in Richmond. Authentic thin crust pizza cooked to perfection. Fresh ingredients, a wide selection of toppings.... Simply delicious. A great list of other Italian delights to try and a great wine list!
Jon Nic
Terrific, authentic Italian pizza! Quality is right up there with D.O.C. and 400 gradi. Definitely the best pizza around in Richmond. Thin base, great quality ingredients, and run by true Italians. The fellas run a neat operation and are always exceptionally polite. So grateful this place opened up!

- Pizza was fantastic.
- Suggestion for those that read this, you must to try the panna cotta, was on point.
- Roberto the owner exemplified the sort of service that separates the good from the great local restaurants. Above and beyond expectations.
- If you're local to Richmond you MUST try and if you're not then no excuses get in the car and taste it out.

We have tried this pizza a few times and have always somehow given the benefit of the doubt for poor pizza or poor service. Tonight no exception can be found. It was great to get a home delivery in 15 mins however at a price. Undercooked pizza once is bad enough but every time isn't good enough.
We asked for extra mushrooms (still looking) not a mushroom to be found! Half way through eating the base was very undercooked and soggy. Has all the right aspects of being a good pizza, unless you listen in business and provide a good product people won't come back.. WE WONT BE BACK!

St Domenico has become a weekly favourite for me in Richmond, and whenever friends or family want to catch up we go straight here!

The waiter Maurizio is a brilliant person, and also knowledgable on all the food they serve. Pizzas are definitely their specialty, but if you like prosciutto you should try the entree prosciutto as it's cut fresh to order.

Cannelloni is great too, always very fresh. It's a small but vibrant area, with bar seating up the back for the warmer months, and also seating on bridge road. Highly recommended.

Easily some of the best pizza I've ever had.

Great relaxed atmosphere. Service staff were so lovely and friendly. Very reasonably priced.

I tried the potato/rosemary pizza and it was absolutely delicious. Could not fault it. The base was perfect and the ingredients were quality.

You will not be able to go back to ordinary pizzas from fast food places after you have tried this place.

Ok, So the owner is lovely, and the pizza is delicious. I think we've had company dinner there 4 times in a fortnight. The Patate is a hit, as is the San Daniele. Love the Arancini too, thank you!
Elie
I'm so glad this is my local pizza bar. I've never tasted anything like this style of pizza. The ingredients are superb! I've got my friends hooked on this pizza too :)

I have to also say... nothing beats walking around the corner to pick up a fresh pizza.

Finally, we have great pizza in Richmond! St Domenico is true Italian pizza. Great base and generous toppings. The owner and staff were really attentive and the desserts were amazing too. Excited for this to become a frequent place to visit.
Mike
Very average pizza. Not the worst I've had, but nowhere near the best. The Salami pizza was EXTREMELY salty and the sausage pizza was more like mince meat instead of little pieces of sausage. Both pizzas had a chewy base and were so disappointing. We will never go back.
Roberto
Best pizza in Melbourne . Doc and 400 Gradi have some serious competition . This place is all class . From the cutout to the service . St Domenico . You guys rock ....
Robert.wood
Yum. Best pizza in Richmond. This is seriously good authentic Italian pizza. Staff are brilliant. Food brilliant. Atmosphere perfect. A great night
Charlie
Best Gluten-Free Pizza in Melbourne. I'm coeliac, so finding quality Gluten-Free pizza isn't a simple task. I've tried everywhere in the Richmond/Kew/Hawthorn area.
The Gluten-Free bases (especially the San Danielle) at St Domenico's are simply the best. I've come back time and time again, not only for the incredible food, but the attentive and kind service I've come to expect from the crew. Pure 100% Italian pizza, no messing around with this one.

10/10

Takeaway. Real shame their takeaway isn't great....pizza meant to arrive in 40 mins took 65 mins, then was cold and also the wrong pizza! Potato wedges not worthy of $9!!!
Brucie
Excellence - the food never ceases to amaze and the service is always so friendly. The owner is always at front of shop to ensure the very best to his loyal customers.

A LOCAL GEM...I cannot get enough of this little pizza restaurant. Its traditional Italian at its freshest and best. The pizzas aren't the only great things at this restaurant, with the lasagne, meatballs and eggplant parmigiana also shining through. Don't leave without trying the doughnuts they are absolutely delicious. This is truly a fantastic little restaurant and a welcome addition to the river end of Bridge Rd.

Pizza at its Best ........... Came across St Domenico Pizza Bar just by chance and I would have to say this place is up with the best . Pizza to die for, Beer on Tap and Service that you can't fault .
Guys please open one up in Carlton ......
You need to open up more stores. .

BEST PIZZA IN MELBOURNE. Friendly and amazing service. The best pizza you will try in Melbourne. Move over DOC - you have serious competition with ST. DOMENICO

Pizza to die for ........ I have lived in Richmond for the past 12 years and St Domenico would have to be the best pizza in Richmond and up with the best in Melbourne . Keep up the good work guys.

Deliciousness. Straight up delicious Italian pizza. Easy and relaxed vibes with fantastic friendly staff. Tasty desserts to satisfy the after dinner sweet tooth. Pizza belly happily growing with this little gem popping up so close to home!
Franc
This is what pizza should taste like. Fresh toppings, light base and no oil.
Honestly can't believe a couple of these reviews... Go to Dominos.
Tanya
Very sparse topping - two pieces of seafood per slice of marinara pizza. I normally eat three or four slices, but I was still hungry after eating the whole thing. They forgot my partner's rocket, took it back to the kitchen and made sure they charged us for it. Friendly staff, but not enough to make us go back.
Andreja Markovi
Fabulous! Both food and service. Highly recommended.
Nick
AUTHENTIC PIZZA EXPERIENCE. This place ticks all the boxes . Pizzas are authentic Napoletana style , service is friendly and perfect in every way . The place has the most amazing floor you have ever seen and the cutout to go with it . You won't be disappointed .
Cam_burke15
Save Your Money. Pizzas were average, but are priced at a premium. They laughably charge you an extra $4 for sprinkling a couple of rocket leaves on your pizza. Service incredibly poor, and atmosphere lacking. Give this one a miss.

Terrible service. We ordered a delivery...2 and half hours later i had to call twice each time no one seemed to know what is going on.
Need to sort out delivery times and customer service. Plenty of good italian.. will not order from here again.
Alex
Most appalling service ever. Don't bother with these guys. Waited an hour to collect take away before realising they hadn't even started making it
Charlotte Smith
Best pizza in Melbourne! Also tried the Polpette and can say they are amazing. If your looking for authentic Italian then this is it!! 10/10.

Such a good find! Prosciutto pizza is definitely a favourite! Customer service here is exceptional, the staff are all very friendly. Will most definitely return.

The reviews say it all. Pizza is amazing here! Easy to order online, received a text to say when they were coming, and arrived quickly. Authentic Italian pizza, the best in Richmond and one of the best in Melbourne.

Simply outstanding food. Very reasonably priced. High quality food and service. Gluten free pizza is the best I've had and desserts to die for.

Best pizza/ service in Richmond. My friends and I absolutely adore this place. The pizza is to die for. You can't get it like this unless you're in Italy! The service is also excellent and the owners are so nice! Beautiful food and people. A+

Yummmmmmmmm!!!! We're slowl.... Yummmmmmmmm!!!!
We're slowly going through the menu. Last night tried the Gluten Free pizza. Best gluten free I've tasted. So happy it's our local. I'm such a fan!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Tracey
Pizza and service were fabulous. We stumbled across this place by accident and I'm very glad we did. We'll be back again!

Yes yes yes! Amazing! My favourite so far has been Salaiccia Pizza which is pork and fennel sausage, roast apple, Dior Di latte, sage and balsamic. Have had takeaway a couple of times also. Prefer to eat in for pizza so it's the right temperature. The Caprese salad takes me right back to Italy and the Bomboloni - Italian donuts are the bomb! Keep up the great work Roberto and crew!!

Updated 11/06/20 - Ordered a couple of takeaway pizzas, they weren’t ready when I arrived (no problem at all, actually perfect because then they would be fresh and hot). Unfortunately the pizzas were cold by the time I got them home, which was only 3 min walk from restaurant. One of the bases was also extremely over crispy, and the base just snapped. The bases use to be great and you could fold each pizza slice whilst eating, so I’m not sure if the recipe has changed or perhaps it overcooked? Anyway, maybe I just got a bad night. Good deal of two pizzas for $35 but might try one of the other new pizzas outlets on Bridge Road for now.
Amazing!. Food was beyond spectacular. Employees were very nice and friendly, accommodating and displayed ultimate professionalism. Was offered desert or coffee after our meal which reminded me of a restaurant setting and culture in Europe. Highly rate the pizza. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely Fantastic. Richmond has been lacking an authentic Italian Pizza Bar for quite some time. Well the wait is over. The look and feel of the place is so classy. All the staff are Italian, so you feel like your on a European Vacation while still in the heart of good old Melbourne.
All this doesn't mean a thing if the service and food didn't stack up. Well I'm glad to tell you that we went as a group and had an amazing experience. The pizzas are so lite and tasty, we also shared a few salads and deserts. Everything was first class. Would highly recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic Italian Pizza experience.

A vibe can exist before you’ve even tried a place. I’ve walked past St Domenico and have noticed people sipping red wine in the sun in early autumn and thought “this place is worth a try”. That vibe is extremely important.

Catherine and I are seated at a table for two with a touch of space to the table next door. It is tight but atmospheric, clean and bright. There is already a happy table of four next door and we glance at what they’ve ordered as our order is taken. They have great looking lasagne and cannelloni amongst pizza and we are instantly talking about the next time we’ll try this place! We have ordered pizza and are staying on this path without any diversion.
