the food and the people at this super clean vegan restaurant are consistently first class. I always get the chips, and usually either Massaman Curry ( the only time I have ever liked tempeh), Royal Rendang and sometimes the Pad Thai. The serves are generous, fresh and very tasty. This is the best vegan restaurant in Melbourne!

There’s something so warm about how we were treated here. And there are some experiences that take me back to being nostalgic of eating in my hometown, Chennai. An intimate place, amazing people who run the restaurant who make it a point to make you feel at home and have casual chats with you. I have a great time every time I come here.
I love everything on the menu. But my favourite is the papaya salad. Believe me when I say that I ate an entire portion by myself and poured the juice from mandarins onto a cup and drank it. Amazing!
My other favourites are also the Eggplant Sambal, Curry Laksa, Green Curry and Ma Po Tofu. The flavour is just so authentic.
I will keep coming back again and again just to eat that salad!!
Hands down the Pho and Bun Hue here is the bomb diggity! I’ve never craved anything vegetarian before until these dishes hit my mouth; the broth tastes soooo close to the original. The mock meat substitute is very light in taste and texture and it mixes well with the other vegetables in the dish. Highly recommend!!
Ok this place is a must try for all those vego heads and mortals like me. They have a great home made iced tea and really great friendly and helpful staff. I was shockingly surprised when I was eating 'beef' they wasn't real beef......i couldn't tell the difference or with the chicken so I guess I fail in life but I won't starv lol.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing! It’s the only restaurant I have ever been to that I feel like I could choose anything of the menu and confidently know it would be delicious. I especially recommend the Tom yum rice, it was fake shrimp in and is very tasty.
I would love for them to include a tasting menu in future because i want to try everything!
My favourite restaurant. The staff are super lovely and cute, and have really dorky uniforms that you just have to see to believe. The food is fantastic and delicious. The best destination for vegans. And for all those who think vegan food is bland, give this place a shot ;)
Been here a few times and I aim to try something new every visit. This time, I stopped in for a late lunch with friends. I ordered the crumbed konyakku which turned out to actually be deep fried vegan prawns. They were much breadier and more fried than I expected, but tasty nonetheless- sort of like a vegan nugget, but fishier. I also got a fried rice, simple and flavourful. It made for a perfect meal when paired with the prawns. Richmond Loving Hut has got to be the best of all three Melbourne locations 👌
Very quiet when we went in for lunch and the staff member was very friendly. My friend is vegan and has been looking for good resturaunts and wow this place has amazing food. Personally I got the pineapple rice and it was so large and delicious. Asked for a container to take the leftovers home because it was so good.
I have seen this restaurant for ages but never got to try it and I just found out that they have branches all around the world. Their menu is extensive and full of varieties to cater for your vegetarian fix. The laksa have a generous portion and seasoned nicely. The hor fun which came with fake meat also really nice complete with the wok flavour from the stir fry.

Loving hut is a 100% vegan restaurant offering Vietnamese, Thai, Malaysian and other Asian cuisines. I must admit, I was initially skeptical when I learned of the existence of vegan pho($13). However, I was completely won over by the first bite. The broth was clean and flavoursome and looked, smelt and tasted just like a good, hearty, beef pho. They even had fake beef slices that were strangely similar to beef in looks and texture, which I think was made of something like tofu. Portions were generous with both the noodles and toppings and made for a healthy, hearty meal. I liked that they gave a lot of tofu to give the dish more nutritional balance. The vegan pho was so good that I would be more than happy to have that instead of the normal beef one. They also seem to offer a range of vegan desserts and I would definitely need to come back to try those as well as the rest of the menu.
Although nothing fancy, the interior is a lot cleaner than your typical vietnamese establishment and was well air conditioned, considering that it was such a hot day. Service is very friendly and laid back, although it was a bit slow and took a while for some of the dishes to come out. They were also nice enough to let us cut a birthday cake we brought and provided us with a knife, plates and forks. Overall, the food, service, price and portion sizes were all on point and I would love to be back!

Came here tonight for dinner with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The no-frills decor should not put you off. We ordered the papaya salad, the Mongolian "beef", the satay chicken skewers, and the pan fried dumplings. The food was great! Really tasty! The staff were friendly too and the price wasn't too expensive!
everything in this place is vegan! the food is great, reasonably inexpensive and so so good!!! whether you want mock meat that (i have been told) tastes authentic or fresh, delicious vegan food, then go here - you won't regret it!!!!!!!!
For a vegan restaurant, it is pretty darn good. Spicy cha cha and pineapple rice are among my favourites in this restaurant. Though I would say it's a little on the expensive side.
this place has been one of the vegetarian restaurants my family enjoy dining at. the menu includes choices of malaysian, vietnamese and thai food. besides the various menu selections, the prices aren't too steep either.
the pineapple fried rice is always my go-to as it's one of the most flavourful pineapple fried rice i've had. the curry here is recommended as well.
despite the small restaurant place, their service is always attentive. will definitely be back!
No joke, spent every weekend here for a year when my boyfriend lived in the area. I have loved everything but 1 dish out of the ENTIRE menu (it was the Ma Po Tofu, the vegetables tasted like they were from a frozen bag and I have decided I hate the texture of silken tofu)!!
But seriously every other dish. 10/10! The salads are yum, the mains, the deserts everything! Staff are very welcoming and the sticky date pudding and cheesecake will both forever be my fave deserts of all time!
Ordered the pineapple fried rice and peking spring roll wrap, both were pretty acceptable and delicious. We also had the chau kuey teow but it lacked flavour and the bean sprout were awlful
I walked into this restaurant with no expectations at all and I was really surprised. We ordered the pineapple rice, the laksa and jewels of the sea. Everything about Jewels of the sea was perfect. It was crunchy and had a lot of texture. The mayonnaise was great. The laksa was a bit of a let down but the pineapple rice was really good. I'd most likely come back
It's a lovely feeling as a vegan to be overwhelmed by number of choices on a menu. The menu is carefully labelled (onion, garlic, mock meat etc) to cater for the various reasons someone might be vegan. So many delicious things but sadly only one belly. I finally picked the Vietnamese storing roll noodles ( generous portion, delicious and best spring rolls I have ever had). Also managed to fit in a delicious sticky date pudding that wasn't over sweetened. I left with a happy full belly, smile on my face from the kind service and without a hole in my pocket. Thank you Loving Hut!
Always open when I needed it to be. Great menu with many favourites not forgetting to mention the desserts. Also friendly staffs. Easily anyone's favourite restaurant.

Food is affordable, staff are friendly. Atmosphere is inviting and warm, menu is brilliantly put together with options for everyone.
Highly recommend to anyone, vegan or not.
Only downfall is that the cutlery, glasses and tables aren't the cleanest.

After visiting this place several times, I am changing my rating to 5 stars. Awesome food experience always.
During start of unforgiving winter season in Melbourne, we settled on eating something warm and vegetarian last night. After skimming through few strong contenders we finalised we would try "loving hut".
Been here before and were never dissatisfied with dishes we ordered last time. As ever greeted by friendly staff and seated in cosy place.
We ordered Malasian Curry Laksa, Massaman Curry with roti and Vietnamese Spring Rolls served with rice noodles, lattuce and herbs. All dishes were exceptional, particularly we liked Laksa and Spring Rolls.
Loving hut is a hidden gem for vegetarians and ones who love eating vegetarian for a change. Food quantity is often big in portion size and would recommend sharing. I do not like wasting food and that too food of this delectable nature. We plan to revisit this place more often for Laksa. Which I believe to be best in Melbourne with my Indian pallet for spice.
On a Saturday date night with the better half she recommended loving hit in richmond.
On arrival the place was booked out but fortunately a short 10 minute wait managed to get us a table.
We ordered the tofu skewers, rainbow pockets, tofu and eggplant dish and the Burmese salad.
Everything was delicious and I couldn't have asked for more as I wouldn't have been able to eat it.
The cherry on top was the cacao cheese cake 👌🏻
Will be making this a regular stop, so many more dishes to try!
Came here after a friend recommended their other restaurant in Northcote. Wasn't expecting a whole lot, but was pleasantly surprised with the food. Even though at the time we were in the restaurant with only one other table, it take a very long time for our orders to be taken. It did also take some time for our dishes to arrive. We weren't too worried about that as we were happy chatting. We loved the spring rolls & a few other shared entrees, the pho was delicious as was a few other curries we tried. Everything was well priced & we would come back again.
We only had half an hour to rush diner in, and they were amazing, advising us and bringing food so fast.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night - a small venue that gets rather busy but comfortable otherwise. Theres not much decor and the place is kept very basic and simple. Wait staff are quick but communication efforts are only made to order your food and take the bill - not neccessarily always a bad thing. Food menu has a great variety of vegan foods including mock meats - the pineapple rice was a hit but our vegan fried chicken was a little too fried. Service was slow but not bad considering it is a small venue with a small kitchen and x 2 wait staff. Prices on the menu is okay but some of the mock meat dishes are a tad more expensive. The great thing about this place is that they sell some specialty vegan produce that you cant find easily elsewhere. Id come back for a casual quick lunch and for some unique vegan produce!
Very nice little place that serves vegan & vegetarian food. Came here with Grace and her sister. Didn't have much of an appetite since I had a heavy lunch so Grace just fed me some of hers.
Service was fast and the waiters were polite! They took our orders and served the orders not too long after. They ordered the curry noodles and the salt and pepper tofu.
I tried some of both, it was really good! Nothing bad about it at all. The curry broth had a tinge of spiciness and it was just as thick as the ones I had back in Malaysia.
Would definitely come back!
My partner took me out to dinner here, I had heard great things so I was excited to give it a go. The decor seemed outdated and not very inviting, the staff seemed rushed and as though they needed an extra team member that night (someone may have called in sick, you never know) It was busy so the food took a little longer than we would have liked. We ordered the spring rolls and dim sims as entrees which were a great start, then Mongolian BBQ and lemongrass tofu as a main. The Mongolian BBQ was amazing, seriously full of flavour. The lemongrass tofu was a let down though, very soggy and lacking flavour. We had a raw lemon cheesecake for dessert which was great! We asked the waiter some questions about the food but he didn't really seem to know anything and seemed a little awkward. Not a bad experience but there was room for a little improvement.
The great thing about having vegan and vegetarian friends is you end up going to places you normally may not have gone to.
Came to Loving Hut for dinner and for a Monday they ended up being pretty busy. The menu is really extensive and I ended up choosing the Tom Yum soup with noodles, which usually isn't my first choice of soup base. I was really happy with my choice, the soup was flavoursome and had the perfect amount of spice and the tofu was cooked perfectly.
The service was hit or miss depending on which waiter you got, which is why I rated slightly lower. Took a while for them to take orders, clear plates etc. There was also a bit of a misunderstanding over the dessert (no chocolate sauce on the sundaes and when asked about it, desserts were taken back to the kitchen, returned and still no sauce; gave up at that stage) but it in no way spoiled the meal.
Price was decent for the amount of food you got, and looking forward to trying a few more things on the menu.
a must-go place whenever i am craving for good southeast asian vegetarian cuisine. nothing has disappointed me so far. every dish was prepared as if you're eating at home cooked by your family members. no nonsense, packed of flavour with affordable prices

Loving hut is wonderful, always going back for the laksa and the pho. Not a fan of mock meat but it can easily be taken out of any dish! Lovely service and relaxed vibes, so good to go to a fully vegan restaurant - love your work guys
Quite possibly the most adorable and humble staff I've ever come across. Waiter took time to talk to everyone in the restaurant despite how busy and run off their feet they were. Waitress was delightful. Delicious food too but the service is what sold me, just gorgeous. I'll be back every week

Loving Hut doesn't look like anything special from out on the streets, except that looks can be incredibly deceiving! Offering an extensive vegan Asian menu - with meals handpicked from Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, and Vietnamese cuisines - Loving Hut is the perfect eatery for vegans, the health-conscious, or anyone who loves excellent Asian food! Serving sizes are ideal, and the food itself is satisfying. We ordered the Green Thai Curry (with a sides of coconut rice), and the Seasonal Stir-Fry Veggies, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed (and were pleased to see were adequately priced!) Truly a peaceful (literally!) restaurant tucked away in the hustle and bustle of Victoria Street.

I came here the other night with a friend to get take away. There was a large group of around 20 and most of the other tables were full. The girl politely let us know that the wait time could be quite long because they were so busy but asked the chef for us how long the meals would take and said for 2 dishes it would be fine (we got 3, sorry!!). We sat down at an empty table that was reserved for a later time and one of the guys working came over and asked us what we would like to order even though he knew we were getting take away (Which I thought was thoughtful). We ordered and then left after being told it would be about 20 minutes and came back about 10 minutes later and sat at the same table to wait. The lovely man who I assume could be the owner asked if we would like water but we told him we were just waiting for take away and he said no problem and got us some water glasses (nothing crazy but a nice gesture!). The experience in loving hut was so pleasant! The food was tasty, I got the massaman curry with organic tempeh with brown rice on the side. Probably a traditional massaman (I wouldn't know) but it had tempeh, carrot and potato - would be good with more veg but again that's probably how it meant to be cooked. My friend got the chow mein fun noodles with vegetables and tofu and we shared an entree - enoki mushrooms fried in seaweed and bean curd skin (crispy delight) - these weren't like anything I've tried before, they were strange but tasty quite fatty but good with the lime. Overall have had two pleasant experiences getting take away from loving hut. I have a feeling most dishes are quite high in fat though. Simple food that probably is a little over priced but happy to support a vegan restaurant :)
Awesome menu with so many options! I ordered the dumplings for an entree which were incredible!! A little pricey but the flavor was on point! I ordered the pad thai for a main and this was my first pad thai I've ever had. It was quite oily and it had fake prawns in it which wasn't mentioned on the menu so I just picked around them because they were a little weird! It also had a little bit too much peanuts in it but I still enjoyed the meal!
I also tried the fried rice and that was tasty as well!
We had some issues with the customer service as we had a semi-large table and they forgot some of the people's meals so we didn't all get to eat together at the same time and my friend's meal had a hair in it but they were apologetic and replaced the meal for her.
I'm not from Melbourne, but if I go back I'd probably go back as I'd love to try out some of the other menu options and definitely get the dumplings again!
Loving hut is our favourite go to restaurant! We go at least every fortnight and love everything we've eaten here! Favourites would be the satay sticks, steamed dumplings, Burmese salad, pho, jewels of the sea, Tahitian lime vegan cheesecake and sago pudding. Even non-vegetarian family and friends have loved it!

Whilst I'm not Vegan, I'm hooked on the Vegan Pho here - it's extremely difficult to find a well balanced plant based Pho at the best of times and these guys have nailed the recipe.
Got some take-away pad thai for lunch. The food was very nice and not expensive ($14). Some of the other dishes I thought were a bit expensive, e.g. towards $20, which I think is a bit much for lunch. The girl that took my order was friendly and patient (I took a long time to decide).
Wow everything on this menu I have tried is outstanding.. Took my Omni friend who rated her dish a five as well for the 'beef' n blackbean.. Recommend to all vegan or not.. P.s much better than loving hut northcote.. Oh and always order desert!!

THE BEST FAKE MEAT EVER. These people have got to be the kings of fake meat, it is the realist stuff I have ever tasted and they know just what to put with it. Not to mention they are incredibly cheap and their portions are super generous! Only thing I can pick is the cleanliness and modernness of the place. Other than that so fantastic!
With world vegan day around the corner, it seems appropriate to review a vegan classic. Boasting hundreds of branches across the world (and counting), loving hut delivers to the growing search for healthy and homely meals. Personally, I do not think the meals are bad, but they aren't worth the hype that surrounds its cult-like following. If you are a part-time hippie however, this place will be your full-time friend!

How cool is this place. No animals have died to fuel my fancy living and the food has fascinating texture and pleasant flavour. There are even a few philosophical tips for life. What more do you want from a night out on Victoria St?

Loved the taro and enoki mushroom crispy parcels! They definitely were the standout dish of the night! The sambal eggplant was also absolutely delicious! On the other hand, the Jewel of the Sea was not as good, as the mayonnaise was a little bit weird with the mock prawn. The papaya salad was also rather average, and no better than what I can make at home. However, will most of the staff seemed disinterested, there was one young girl who was so friendly and accommodating (yet not overbearing), and she alone brought up the whole experience! All in all, if I were to return, I'd stick to the crispy parcels!
Has the best vegetarian dumplings around the area. The rose tea had a unique taste that I really liked. Perfect for lunch after shopping in IKEA

I am not vegan, but I just LOVE this restaurant. Everything is fresh, tasty, and prepared with a lot of love and care. Something you have to try are the Vietnamese spring rolls, served with rices noodles, herbs and lettuce. Pho is also amazing here, and papaya salad is a kick of freshness. Only think I don't approve: vegan dog food!!!?!!!
Delicious and extremely healthy!. I'm not sure if Olivia_Li was actually at the Loving Hut...her comment that the food wasn't healthy is ridiculous! We have dined there several times and found it to be amongst the most superlative vegan food we've had in Melbourne. We can't wait to go back to continue to explore the menu. The only fault was that the Affogato I ordered for dessert was a little unusual - the coffee not hot or strong enough. However the soy ice cream was most delicious as were all the other dishes we ordered.
Best Vegan in Melbourne!!. Have been a loyal customer since Loving Hut opened. Amazing food - so many options to choose from. Favourites are the Laksa, Thai Eggplant dish, Crispy Delight, Vege Curry, and of course the handmade dumplings! Cheesecake is a must. Staff are lovely also. And the best part - EVERYTHING is vegan!

An awesome place....being going here for years, and proberly eat there at least twice a month. Service is awesome, and we're able to accommodate a big group of 20 +, on many occasions....q4 and q5 my favorites. ..Also was my first experience with firstly vegan cheesecake, and a raw cheesecake. ..food is awesome , quality and price, we'll worth it!!! Also the raw burmese salad a goer!! Love it!!

Delicious!. Went about a week ago with a friend and we had the crispy delight, Malaysian curry and char kway teow. It was all so wonderfully tasty, just the right heat and loaded with fresh veggies. Our food came really quickly (which was great as I was hungry). We barely got through it - such generous portions and very reasonable priced. The vibe is fine (sort of somewhere between family cafe and brightly lit take-away). Perfectly in step with many restaurants on Vic st. No complaints here. Yum!

Great Food, Good Price & friendly!. After a bit of a sleep in on a Saturday, I was on an ikea trip with my girlfriend and we thought we'd stop by this place on our way through.
Being vegetarians, the word "vegan" caught our eye and we thought we'd check it out.
Admittedly the outside of the restaurant didn't look overly appealing, but neither do most shops/restaurants in Richmond/Abbotsford (plus we're always keen to try something new so we thought we'd give it a try).
The service was nice (they waited patiently for us to order), and the meals came relatively quickly.
We ordered a green curry laksa, burmese salad and a couple of plates of dumplings. They were all delicious! The ingredients were fresh, cooked well and the dressing/laksa was delicious.
I'm 6'5' so I eat quite a lot (we shared these meals) and considering I was quite hungry, it was decent value. I was a tad hungry after finishing the shared meal, but that's not uncommon for me and considering the price, I would have been happy to order more food had not been satisfied enough.
I'm not one to write reviews because... well... I can't be bothered. But considering this place is a bit of a hidden gem in my eyes, I thought I'd make the effort.
If you're vegetarian or just like well priced asian food, I'd recommend coming here. I'll be going back.
Loving hut can be a bit of a roulette. The staff are unpaid and so training seems to be last on the list of things to do. Admirable intentions in donating their time to the cause, but I question the motives of the woman who heads the organisation that runs the place. They are all lovely gentle folk nonetheless.
The food can sometimes be the most delicious you can get, mixing tastes from several Asian regions - mostly Vietnamese. However I get the impression the chefs don't cope we'll with numbers, as the busier it is, the less tasty the food can be.
Despite some drawbacks and the occasional let down, the good times are well worth it. If I lived closer it would be a weekly visit.

Everything we had was spectacular, the fried Wontons, the Eggplant curry and the Green Papaya Salad is a stand out! I was completely floored by the raw chocolate cheesecake and my friend was floored byu the Tira Misu. Excellent quick service, Ordered and food was there in 5 minutes. Lovely friendly service and GReat food. Loved it and will be going back for the Papaya Salad and the dessert. YUM
Yummy veg. I like this place. Felt a little strange at first, as my observant mind noticed something different about Loving Hut. Later I found out that it is run by volunteers who are followers of a lady known as Supreme Master Ching Hai, a vegan spiritual movement. The service has a homely charm about it, and the food is great.
The lucky rainbow pockets are delicious - satisfying even for a non-vegan. crispy delights were crispily delightful & staff are very friendly. would come back :)
Vegan food that packs a flavour punch. Went there last night, & loved it.
The decor is basic, but there is also a warmth that permeates it. Its not as soulless (from a decor point of view) as other Vietnamese restaurants on the strip.
Avoided the mock meat, why eat at a vegan place for mock meat ?
Ordered all the dishes other reviewers had loved - dumplings, rainbow pockets, burmese salad, eggplant & tofu, green curry.
The thing that impressed me was that the food here has great depth & complexity of flavour. No insipid vegetarian fare here. My only feedback would be on the green curry, would prefer more veges & less tofu.
For dessert, tried the raw lemon cheesecake (a winner), & the sago pudding (lovely, but prefer more syrup/coconut cream & less sago).

Great vegan food. It's really nice to be able to choose anything from the menu and know that it's vegan. We had the fried rice, pad thai, crispy fillets, tempeh, spring rolls, chips, cheeesecake, ice-cream.
The food was delicious, they accommodated our 3yo and 9yo really well, and were really friendly. They're obviously passionate about food, and we had a really pleasant lazy afternoon lunch.

Loving Hut. Extensive (predominantly) pan-Asian vegan menu. Mock meat is optional in many of the dishes. Lucky rainbow pockets and Burmese salad the highlights of our visit.
The pineapple rice, recommended to us, was beautiful! Haven't tried anything like it before. The beef Rendeng was very realistic and absolutely delicious. Staff are wonderfully nice, place is simple, good for takeaway. 5 stars

I freaking loved this place. Food was delicious and the omnivorous boyfriend enjoyed some yummy (I tasted it) fake chicken thing. Absolutely nothing to complain about the staff were great and going to a 100% vegan joint was refreshing
Pretty yum!. I came here with a large group and we had a banquet, so I'm not entirely sure of the names of the dishes I had. They were mostly delicious, though. They made an amazing salad, really good curries, and the fried foods were very tasty. The only downside was the dessert - my cake was horrible. It isn't hard to make vegan cake, but this one (I think it was pumpkin and date) was extremely dry, multiplied in my mouth, and tasted largely of margarine. It was disappointing and confusing after such delicious savoury food.
Interesting!. Came here as a vegan with a open minded boyfriend wanting to try it! My boyfriend Loved it! I liked it and would go back again but pick some differnt things!! the raw food looked amazing thou! Worth a visit!

Vegan cult soul food. Loving Hut is a vegan oasis on a mostly meat dominated restaurant strip. I've been here three times for food and each time it's been great! It is a chain founded by "Supreme Master Ching Hai" to promote peace and veganism around the world.
If you want to take a break from eating meat, do some good for your body, and sample some truly fascinating meatless dishes, this is the place to go. There's enough interesting stuff on the menu to tempt even the most hardened meat lover. The raw food salads and Green curry were both highlights. Some of the food is a little bit on the oily side as it is deep fried, but it has to be better for you than eating deep fried meat! The staff are very mellow and approachable.
They have a TV program they show in the restaurant subtitled with over 12 languages (!) called "Supreme Master Television " - it can be a bit off putting when it describes animal cruelty but I guess they want to get the vegan message out.
A welcome vegan/veggie option at a very decent price.

Yum!. Went to loving hut last night and it was great! The decor of the place really is horrid - it is too bright, too stark - something just doesn't quite work. But once the food comes out it is easy to overlook. The Pad Thai was great, and we had an eggplant dish which was delish. The service was great and we were completely stuffed for $25 pp. Will definately be back - look forward to trying some of the soups.
Nom nom. I'm not the world's biggest fan of fake meat, but its easy to avoid at LH if that's not your thing... and if it is, then great!
Highlights were green papaya salad, pad gaprow and pad thai and the raw sundae is to die for! We came two nights in a row it was sooo good!
Decent Food. I did enjoy this restaurant as the food and service were very good. But i did not think it was very special considering it was a vegan restaurant. Most chinese/thai restaurants all over the city have almost similar options with bean curd and seaweed.
The flavors were good, but the crispy delight was just a bit too oily for my taste.
Id like say that I will be coming back, but I doubt it.

Flavourful food and friendly service.. Although the décor and hideous lighting do nothing to tempt in the hungry passer-by, the warmth of the staff greets you as soon as you step in. We went on a Friday night and there were plenty of tables available - obviously the word hasn't got out.
We were celebrating a friend's birthday and had already bought a cake which the staff kindly put in the fridge while we had dinner. The rainbow pockets were delicious, as was the papaya salad, and the eggplant curry. In fact all the dishes we ordered were delicious - packed full of flavour and catered to your taste (speak to the staff). The staff are bubbly and more than happy to help in any way they can. We even had the chef bring out one of our dishes which was nice.
At the end of the meal we received a complimentary trifle to share…we were all surprised by how nice it was, despite the fact that we were so full. They offered to bring out our cakes and cutlery which is unusual, as most restaurants get a bit 'funny' in these situations, but in this case we had to refuse their kind offer and depart without eating our pre-bought cake because we were packed full of loving hut goodness :)
We can't wait to go back there and try some more dishes!
I went to loving hut with my father for a late fathers day early dinner. We arrived at 4.15pm but the closed sign was on the door:( there was no opening hours printed on the window and I saw someone inside so I knocked and asked when they opened? The waiter said we could come in and served us straight away. The staff are lovely and I told them I'd been wanting to try loving hut because of the high rating on urbanspoon. I showed them the reviews and they were flattered! The food was delicious and fresh. The serves are really big and very good value. I can't wait to take my fellow vego friends there for dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a casual night out. You will be made to feel very welcome.
OMG So good!. Stopped off here lastnight for the first time & I wish I lived closer I would go all the time! I had an amazing thai salad, so full of flavour, best salad I've ever had. My partner got a sweet and sour dish which could compete easily with the best sweet and sour pork dishes.
Oh and for dessert chocolate mousse, absolutely divine. All the dishes exceeded my expectations.

Pressure-town. The food is nice but nothing outstanding except the panna cotta which is very good indeed. However, the 'turn vegan and drink spinach smoothies' spiel is fun at the start but gets tiring. Ive been vegetarian for a decade and of course have considered veganism - I have my own reasons for my decisions. Being pressured to convert 'tomorrow' and being told my form of yoga (kundalini) is not meditative enough and that I need to watch a meditation channel on television (television?????) just goes too far. It almost turns me away. Come prepared esp if you are a meat eater.
Chermola (not) prawns. I ate here, nearly a week ago. I've thought about these little Seafood delights - every day day since.
Don't think, just do it.
If your first hesitation is because of the words 'vegan', let me assure you it's worth the gamble. The 'crispy delight' entrée was our fav for veg and non veg guests. Try the fried rice and or the lemongrass tofu. Awesome food reasonable pricing.

The drinks menu is all fresh fruit juice and my favorite - Fresh coconut juice straight from the coconut !! YUM !!
There was 4 of us and we ordered the
- Dumplings
- happiness pockets
- pumpkin dish ( which was cold )
- Vege Curry
- Laksa ( which was spicy and amazing )
- And my favorite !! the DRUMSTICKS !!! MMMMMM
( these are mushroom inside with a beautiful batter on the outside ) deep fried !!
Then we finished off with some Cheesecake and some Chai tea
I think this place is quite reasonably priced,serves amazing fresh food which leaves you feeling happy and loved and we will most definitely be back and are now regulars !!

Good place for vegans. I happened to be their first customer! The staff was very friendly and almost too chatty. We had rice paper rolls and bean curd rolls as an entree, a tasty-spicy curry with rice and lemongrass fried tofu steaks on the side as a main meal and a slice of blueberry cheesecake as dessert. While the other food was decent, it is this cheesecake that deserves special attention.
The serving was too small, it didn't look very good but the taste was magnificent! Now consider that it was dairy free! Everything in this nice little restaurant is vegan, so no worries on this side.
The staff are volunteers and they have rotating cooks from different countries. They follow a supreme master who wants to save the planet by advocating veganism.
Maybe the staff was so talkative because we were the first customers, maybe they feel the need to promote their supreme master. Go find out for yourselves.
Loving Hut specialises in vegan foods as part of the Asian cuisine. They even sell frozen mock meat. I tried their pho and it is one of my favourites because was one of the most flavoursome I’ve had. I’m sure I’ll visit Loving Hut again in the future and I would recommend it for people who like vegan foods that are part of the Asian cuisine.
Very good service, taste and variety. Serving portions can be improved for certain dishes. Will visit again to try rest of the dishes
These guys are amazing!! They do a huge menu of vegan food of all Asian cuisines, with beautiful authentic flavours. The people there are so lovely; Tommy is always ready with a gentle smile on his face for all his customers. They’re our go-to takeaway joint - we eat there at least once a week and won’t stop going back! Thanks Loving Hut family ❤️
Food was nice, taro dish was a bit weird but the sauce made it better.
Great food, cosy atmosphere, cheap prices. Also sell vegan fake meats packaged to take away.
This is a vegan restaurant that will please everyone, even the most discerning non vegans. Taste sensations include Burmese salad, chow mei fun and tom kha soup noodles. There are definitely lots more on offer. We will need a larger group of people so as to venture into them as these 3 are too awesome to miss.
Service is friendly and efficient.

The guys there are great. They never forget my face and now even remember my order off my heart. I am not a regular I go maybe once every 6 months. So this is very impressive customer service. Restaurant decor is what it is but this place is all about its food and they do it really well
Hands down best food in all of Melbourne. Great for vegans though to people just like amazing food! The food is always consistently an incredible high quality! Service also always amazing. Cannot recommended more!
