Everytime I come to Melbourne I eat dumplings almost every second day cauz I love dumplings. And this restaurant just makes my meal. The bestest in town.
This restaurant is called Liaoning Restaurant in Chinese translation. I’m from Liaoning and I am interested in trying this one. The shredded port, a typical Liaoning dish, is good. It worths 80/100 of authenticity. The price is very reasonable.
Delicious dumplings, all of the ones that we tried were nice (including the steamed pork wontons with Sichuan chilli sauce and steamed shanghai pork dumplings) but my favourites were the chicken + corn dumplings and pan fried pork dumplings!
Decent dumplings! We were walking down Bridge Road and this place was fairly busy. Didn’t seem to have a large Chinese clientele but we thought what the hell! The crispy pancake was perfect to start and the prawn dumplings were nice, although a little small. Pork and prawn fried dumplings really hit the spot and the deep fried ice cream to finish had a lovely, doughy layer all the way around the scoop of ice cream. Would return!
It was dumpling time so my partner and I ordered some dumplings and a spring onion pancake.
The dumplings are really good value so we ordered some pork dumplings in Sichuan chilli sauce and some chicken and prawn dumplings in Sichuan chilli sauce. Both flavours were really tasty, and full of meat.
My favourite dumplings were the chicken and prawn dumplings as I really liked the flavour and the consistency.
The spring onion pancake was ok, a bit thick for me and it lacked some flavour.
Overall I’d happily go back.
I always get the pan friend vegetable dumplings, the spring onion pancake and stir fried vegetables, it’s so great! Great for a cheap, easy and quick dinner!
The one draw back is they don’t split the bill invade you are going with friends!
I love dumplings! It has the best dumplings in Melbourne. Vegetarian friendly. Spacious and suitable for groups. I have tried all the dumplings and spring rolls in vegetarian options in the menu.
(I Love Dumplings) is just about my favorite restaurant in Melbourne. It has the best dumplings and everything on the menu is perfect. Whenever I go, I find it hard to not order everything on the menu.

Came here with my friends during work day, they were not too busy as we thought. The service was fast. We ordered some bun, wontons, dumplings, greens and pecking duck. Love everything except the pecking duck, it should come with more sauce. The pork buns were devine!
I used to come here alot and it's always enjoyable. This time I came here its the same. Very consistent. I love the atmosphere and staff is super friendly.
Solid and reliable—perfect for satisfying dumpling cravings. I often order this for delivery as well and the food is very consistent. Nothing beats dining in for a dumpling feast though!
Though it can be a bit noisy, the pan fried dumplings are great, and I'm a big fan of the sweet and sour pork. Upstairs is much quieter, which is nice.
Excellent customer service.
I Love Dumplings is located on Bridge Rd; there’s plenty of on street parking available, but you may have to park down a side street if you go during peak times (watch out for permit zones if you do).
We arrived around 8pm mid week and the restaurant was bustling, almost every table was filled (I’d recommend booking if you wanted to go earlier or weekends). We were greeted & seated quickly; we had the option to order straight away, or to have a look through the diverse menu.
Drinks are fairly priced (house drinks were $6) and the food is also a fair price. We got 2 drinks, 2 dumpling dishes, 2 meat stir fried (these portions are huge so you could easily share one main between 2 people), a broccoli side, rice and desserts; I loved the custard bun and apple pie spring rolls- all that for $102.
We didn’t finish everything but there’s takeaway containers available so you can enjoy leftovers at home.
Staff were friendly and attentive and easily available if you needed anything.
Thanks for a great night!
Really delicious and fast. Usually order the steamed sichuan pork dumplings as they are really, really good. The fried eggplant with chilli, and the fried grean beans with pork are really good also.. The atmosphere and vibe is good.. the chairs a bit hit and miss but part of the fun. Always up for I love dumplings!
One of the Best Dumplings in Melbourne, service is Quick,Reasonable price
**** because of their Irritating chairs,
Best Dumpling Dish : Steamed Veggie Dumplings in Chilli Oil Bowl
Consistently attentive service, plenty of seats, always a good venue regardless of group size. (Might want to ring ahead for large groups though.) Dumplings vary in delivery speed, it could range from really quick (less than 5min) to something like a 15 minute wait, which does make for a bit of an awkward pause between servings. In terms of food quality, a definite step up from post-party Friday dumplings in Chinatown, IMO.
One of my preferred dumpling spots, regardless of location, but Richmond has always been good. More visits to come for sure!
Everytime I am in Richmond, I will come to this place for a delicious dumplings round. Always exceeded my taste of dumplings. The staff are friendly and nice. Sometimes you can see the Chef standing at the back and look at everyone's reaction after having the dish.
Extremely delicious pork dumplings, prob the best in melbourne. Shanghai dumplings also to die for.. actually everything we ordered was awesome including the pork buns. Highly recommended
Came across this charm on Bridge Road. It was a Friday night most of the restaurant was quiet but this restaurant was so crowded. So we decided to have a try. It turns out surprisingly good. Their dumpling is the fresh and delicious. Other dishes are pretty good standard. Defiantly come back for more dumplings.
Come on Friday night. It's a busy place better for booking if u want to come on weekend. Don't miss dumpling in sichun chili oil it's amazing. Staff are friendly and help ,we get table without booking in 15 minutes. Will back soon definitely!!
Been here a handful of times. Always quick and efficient, with tasty food.
This time however, we had a simple order of two plates of dumplings. One plate took 45 minutes and the other never came. Discount offered but not given for the one plate of dumplings. Not good enough in Melbourne.
Update: I'll be the first to admit that above experience must have been an outlier. The new rating reflects our experience on 10+ occasions.
I love I love dumplings! Cliche I know but it’s true , perfect go to place for nice ambience , busy vibe , fried dumplings (lots of them) Chinese brocolli with garlic sauce and steamed rice with wine of coarse . Have been here many many times and converted family members to give it a try too!
We had a lovely Saturday lunch for 2 here, the decor is pretty, nice dark-ish atmospheric lighting, the chairs were comfy and waitstaff attentive, no loud music (in fact no music at all). New opening time (Richmond) is 11:30 am, don't turn up at 11am as we did! (opening time on their website is currently inaccurate). The dumplings are fab! We tried a variety: The Pork (10) XLB had such a beautiful sweet fragrant broth surrounding the delicious filling, the dough was the perfect thickness to hold the filling and broth, no breaches until bitten in to, lovely! The regular (18?) veg dumplings were deliciously savoury, I tasted: mushroom, tofu, carrot, Asian green/wombok and perhaps some spring onion? (I should have asked!) The (8) prawn dumplings were just lovely, plump, juicy moreish, with a sticky wrapper that seemed a bit like rice paper...condiments on the table were: soy, chili oil and dark vinegar (all perfectly scrummy). There is a 5% discount when paying cash (I think you need to spend $30). Good food.
Pass on Thursday night. Looks so busy on dinner time so we book on Friday night and try their dumplings. Dumplings with sichun Chili oil is beautiful and service is good and quick. Love this place. Recommend don't miss dumplings with Chili here.
The fried rice is a must, super tasty and not oily at all! The dumplings and delicious! The service is a little slow & we were waiting a little bit for our food
The food is absolutely great! It’s quick and great serving sizes!!
Pan friend dumplings and spring onion pan cake is a must try!!
It’s such a great dinner choice for great Asian food!! It’s great money for value! The biggest problem is they don’t split bills.
Solid dumplings that made the tummy smile! XLBs has a great flavour but they had them touching other XLBs which meant some split. Very disappointing. Dumplings took a long time to come out too
Myself and two friends went to I Love Dumplings for a last minute dinner outing.
We hadn't made a booking and the restaurant was quite busy but were given a table in less than 5 minutes.
We ordered steamed and fried dumplings, rice, a Mongolian stir-fry and Chinese broccoli to share. All of which were great. I Love Dumplings is very affordable and has a great amount of menu options to choose from.
The only negative - it is quite loud inside the venue and at times we couldn't hear each other speak from across the table.
The place always busy.Wait was about 15minutes for a table for 2,but the dumpling was worth the wait. The soup dumpling and pork dumpling always awesome.Quick service and great staff.Anywhere, I still can’t a better dumpling place so we will keep coming back.
The service is good and the decoration is much more decent then I expected it should be. The food is really fast and taste the good as well. I got a pork and prawn dumplings.like the prawn so much
These aren’t your typical thin skin dumplings. The style is closer to European and that’s not a bad thing. Wait time was reasonable and the dumplings were very good and accompanying sauce to my liking.
We ordered dumplings from here off ubereats and they were really soggy. Maybe that's because they took a while to get to us. So Yeh , maybe not there fault. Hope to try them in person.
This place was still super busy at 9pm on a Saturday, one hour before closing time, but we managed to get a seat. Ordering was quick and the food was quick, although the staff were very confused when a dish was sent out that we had already eaten. They asked like ten times whether we had already gotten the dish! Service was otherwise really good - noticing we were without bowls for a soup and promptly bringing some. The dumplings were surprisingly not very nice looking, but they were satisfying and the fillings were tasty. The chilli oil was weak though. The pork ball soup had a robust and comforting flavour, and was packed with wombok. I was disappointed at the lack of variety for dumplings and 90% of the menu is actually not dumplings (like, barely any wontons!). It was a good, cheap and quick feed.
The dumplings were amazing and I love pan-friend pork dumplings. I can tell the dumplings are handmade. The flavour of the sweet sour pork was also nice. A lot of choices in the menu and we would like to go back and try different dishes.
Great dumplings and comfy chairs.
Very busy but still fast service. Lots of uber eats drivers coming in and out always.
Only bad thing was the food came out one plate at a time and because we weren't sharing it was weird to watch your partner eat and then wait for mine.
But I would definitely come back
Brilliant customer service.Staff members are attentive and friendly. They do a Good job! There are so many options on Menu.We took forever to order because we couldn't decide on what we wanted to eat.Everything was well cooked.I must say I've had this restaurant on my bucket list for a while.
Been here so many times and never let me down! I'm so picky about the meat in dumplings, for me this is the only place in town to have dumplings. The other dishes like green bean with mince pork, stir fry shrimp and omelet are also tasty. Service is always good, nothing can complain about such a busy place! Definitely come back again and highly recommended!
The food arrived quickly, friendly staff and the dumplings were delicious. Good prices too, and a nicely decorated store. Will come back, yum

With a name like that, I had to go there and check out the goods. When talking about food it would easily be one of my most used phrases. I Love Dumplings is on Bridge Road in Richmond, Melbourne. Inside it doesn’t really look how you would expect from a cheap dumpling house. It’s much nicer and it’s easy to see why this place pumps in the evenings. Well that and the large bar are pretty good giveaways.
One of my favourite local dumpling eateries! Absolutely love the pork wonton in chili oil here, and the Shanghai soup dumplings (XLB) are also very tasty. No matter what dumplings we order, this place never disappoints. A little more on the pricey side, but well worth it for great dumplings!
Have driven past I Love Dumplings many times and finally visited for the first time.
Thursday night and it was packed with happy dinners.
One of few places that offers half serve dumplings (6 pieces) and it’s a great way to try different ones. Pan fried, steamed, with chili oil, pork, beef, chicken, vegetarian…. they’ve got the whole lot.
Their menu is extensive and they also do full à la carte menu with all sorts of meat and vegies.
We had the beef and lamb dumpling sin chili sauce, and the pan-fried port dumplings. I thought both were ok (there are tastier dumplings out there). We also had the stir fried dry green beans with pork mince and chili, which was tasty but unfortunately way too salty and quite oily.
Service was fast and friendly.
If you have been a regular follower of The Dear Luncher then you would know that he loves dumplings. What better way to express said love than to casually wander into a place called I Love Dumplings. Apparently there are a couple of these places around town. Good news, because they provide high quality meat-objects encased in dough. Ordered during this particular visit were two varieties of dumplings The Dear Luncher had not ever seen before. Lamb AND beef dumplings (lamb and beef in the same friggin dumpling!) and chicken and corn, swimming in a Sichuan chilli sauce. The Dear Luncher always gets excited when there are dumplings with ingredient combinations he has not encountered before. Also ordered was a small serving of the chicken and corn soup ($5).
The lamb and beef (pan-fried) dumplings were tremendous. Both animals could be sensed by Your Dear Luncher as he deposited them into his belly-bank. The chicken and corn (steamed) dumplings in Sichuan chilli sauce were first rate, but being a red-meat fiend The Dear Luncher much preferred the former. The chicken and corn soup was unremarkable, it was your run-of-the-mill chicken and corn soup.
The décor and surrounds were quite inviting. The Dear Luncher endorses I Love Dumplings with every fibre in his being.
This has become one of my go to places for celebratory dinners. Consistently fresh and tasty. We always start with the pan fried dumplings and share main dishes such as the delectable eggplant stuffed with pork in a teriyaki style sauce. DI-VINE!! A bottle of white @ $20, and very good too. The bill for 4 of us, with drinks and tip included came to under $100. Can get noisy so suggest you ask for tables at the front. Very busy too so booking a must, even midweek. Love the quirky seats. One of those cheap, cheerful and great cafes Melbourne is famous for.
Great dumplings, was very happy with the fried lamb and beef dumplings. Chilli could be spicier. Also had the steamed chicken and prawn dumplings, with the custard buns as a dessert. Everything felt fresh and tasty, I Love Dumplings is a good lunch spot for dumplings around this area.
Only complaint was the service, it was hard communicating with the server that was practically whispering so it made it harder for us to understand. But oh well. Food came out promptly so no harm done :)
Would definitely visit again.
We had a fun group dinner, but it felt really rushed, as the restaurant was closing, the staff were nice about it, but took food away before were finished, and practically pushed us out the door. The food was good but make sure you go early to avoid an experience like this!
The floor was also disgustingly sticky, and walking through to the bathrooms and seeing the kitchen and food practices raised a few question marks for me!
If you know me, you know this is my favourite dumpling joint. I go here as much as I can and have tried most things on the menu. Xiao long boa is excellent. Sour and sour pork, fried eggplant, green beans, prawn and chicken pan friend dumplings always favs. Wine by the glass is always generous pours. Personally don't think you can go wrong with this place.
Awesome place for dumplings! We tried many kinds of dumplings and am glad to say that they all taste delicious! The pan fried varieties aren't too oily which was a plus. The fillings were fresh and flavoursome and I kept wanting more!
Service was not too great - the waitress was not very attentive and did not seem to care about us at all. Anyway, the dumplings were great so I'd come back for them if in the area again.
My go-to dumpling place!!
Always amazing service and food always tastes fabulous. Wait time depends on how busy they are, (10-30 min). Prices are also reasonable.
Walked pass restaurant on Friday, see crowded inside so we decided to walk in to try the food. Dumpling with Sichuan sauce is amazing. However, for advice , you should better order small serve dumplings before your main dishes ,because it is quite big than others restaurant. Definitely come back to try some different foods.
Awesome place for dumplings! We tried many kinds of dumplings and am glad to say that they all taste delicious! The pan fried varieties aren't too oily which was a plus. The fillings were fresh and flavoursome and I kept wanting more!
We also tried the Shanghai noodles and the fried rice. Unfortunately these fell short of our expectations as the flavour wasn't quite there. The noodles were also a little dry.
Service was not too great - the waitress was not very attentive and did not seem to care about us at all.
Anyway, the dumplings were great so I'd come back for them if in the area again.
Service here was alright, waiters and waitresses were attentive and could provide recommendations. The place was well lit but was a little warm inside.
Grace had the vegetarian curry laksa which was alright. I tried some of it, the noodles had a very nice texture and the broth wasn't too spicy.
I had the beef, chicken, seafood and vegetable fried noodles (oyster sauce, and I removed the vegetables). It was a little dry but really good actually! Another friend Tammy and Natasha had the shanghai dumplings and some pork dumplings. I tried the shanghai dumplings, quite small in size but not too bad taste wise.
We dined here during CNY. I would have thought that the place would have been busier.
Then waitress was run off her little feet.
The dumplings came out fast once we had our order placed.
They were ok.
Parking was painful and expensive.
Interesting chairs.
Come on Tuesday night, can't believe it's so busy. The guy who host seat is funny and friendly. He told us "trust me, I will give you table in 15 minutes" , then we get the six people table around ten minutes without booking, it's a lucky day.
Food is nice, pork dumplings in sichun chill sauce is amazing and pork belly is nice as well. Don't miss this two dishes when you come here. We will back soon.
Walked in on Saturday night . Only wait for ten minutes to get the six people table without the booking , thanks the guy who host the seat on Saturday night, patient and helpfully. Pork dumplings without Sichuan chill sauce is our favorite,if you come here you should try this dishes. Don't forget to make a booking on the Saturday night if you want to get yummy dumplings in Richmond . Will back soon
Good place for cheap dumplings, just don't expect anything fancy. I love that they have chicken and corn dumplings too!
The food at I love dumplings is great! They have a huge choice of dumplings and main courses. I love how you can order just 6 dumplings instead of 15 and at only $6 they were really good value. We had the beef and lamb dumplings and they were beautiful! We also ordered veggie spring rolls and sizzling peppered beef to share. Spring rolls were also yummy and again reasonably priced. The beef was good quality and the sauce had a really nice taste - my only criticism would be that it felt a little small for the price ($19ish) compared with the excellent value of the other food.
The decor is nice, chairs were really comfortable and the food is well presented. Service was friendly, however she forgot about our order and only happened to remember when she seated someone next to us! Luckily she's told us our food would be at least 20 mins and it arrived after about 25-30 so it wasn't too bad, but could have been much longer if it hadn't been for that other customer arriving when she did so I have to reflect this in my score. Although overall I'd definitely still recommend this place, the great, affordable food is enough to overcome the slightly shaky service.
Delicious dumplings, okay other dishes, great service!
We were here on a Tuesday evening and were lucky to grab one of the last two tables at this popular dumpling place.
We love the fact that they do offer the small portion size for dumpling dishes, which come with 6 pieces, rather than the usual 10, so we got to try more without being too full.
We ordered the original pork dumplings (3.5/5 points) which were delicious. The skin was firm but thin enough. The filling was well-seasoned, very fragrant, juicy, and tender.
We next got the pork dumplings in Sichuan sauce (4.0) which were even more tasty. The sauce was authentic, just slightly sweet, but delivered more punching flavours, and lifted up the dish with more spice.
The last dumpling dish we tried was the pan fried pork dumplings (4.0) which were again consistently yummy! The texture was slightly crunchier, and the taste still remains delicious. They were not oily at all.
We then tried the lamb ribs (2.5) as the picture on the menu looked quite inviting. However, it was a bit difficult to finish the dish. The smell of lamb was pungent! There was also a bit too much fat in the ribs making it quite unpleasant to eat. We in fact decided to leave half of the dish.
The last item we got was the special fried rice (3.0). It was a bit different than the usual fried rice we get from other Chinese restaurants, being that it was slightly more bland and lighter in flavour. The rice was well cooked, not oily, separating, plump, and firm. It was however a bit under-seasoned for our taste.
Overall, it a very good place for cheap, tasty, and fast dumplings. We would definitely return to try other dumplings dishes.
This place impresses me every time with their dumplings. The decor is average but clean, the service is also average but friendly, however the dumplings are amazing. I have never ordered any mains, however they have a great range of steamed, fried and specialty dumplings with most being $9.8 for 15 which is excellent value especially with the quality product. Highly recommend for a casual lunch of excellent dumplings and value.
Just moved this area two weeks ago . First time to this place and lucky to got the table without the booking in ten minutes. Nice place and service! Don't miss out the pork dumplings in the Sichuan sauce,it's really awesome. Will back soon!
we love I love dumplings! We go there on a regular basis. The price is good, quality good, staff friendly and usually pretty quick with service! Pork dumplings, duck pancakes and soy rice are favourites :) Set up is really nice and comfy and they have a drinks menu too :) Good for groups also friends/family. We will always go back :) it does get busy so def make a booking after 630ish. Some of the best dumplings we've had in Melbourne!
The Dumplings at I love Dumplings have been in my top 3 favourites. The Richmond store is busy during the weekend dinner times and the tables are quite cramped together. I've always ordered just the dumplings including the pan fried pork, steamed chicken and corn in Sichuan chilli sauce and xiao long baos because I've been disappointed with the other dishes before (at the Flemington store- our Peking duck had obviously been neglected and reheated in the microwave and the hot and sour soup left us choking on excess pepper). So a reminder to myself to stick with what they're known for - Dumplings.
Great dumplings, very fast service, even our kids love it! They have high chairs too. Pretty strict with bookings, they give you a booking number and at busy times, they have said to me, no number, no table -eek! But worth it, best dumplings!
Quick service and delicious food there.
Dumplings are worth trying for sure. Can get really busy sometimes. Good place to go if you want some nice dumplings and Chinese food.

Friendly service, nice food and an easy access location make this a great spot for a quick bite or a larger catch up with friends. As with many dumpling places, you cannot beat the price, $10-15 per person will get your more than enough dumplings. Recommend the dumplings in chilli oil, the pork and prawn dumplings and the dumplings with soup in them (forget the actual name).
Walking down Bridge Road I was amazed to see how many empty shops were available for lease. Not as many food outlets as I would have expected either, however we spotted this place over the road and the menu looked interesting so in we went.
The service was quick and I liked the Peking duck roll, the fried and steamed pork dumplings and the vegetable dumplings. We also shared Bok Choy in oyster sauce. It was a very tasty lunch and good value.
What a great restaurant to go to for some great menu items. The service was super friendly and very attentive. Filling up water glasses and always smiling was lovely. The fried beef noodles with black bean sauce was delicious and great reviews from guests on the dumplings and mushrooms. Very reasonable prices with good size servings. Will definitely be coming back!
Good food..... Good environment....!
Must try pan fry dumplings....!
Just one thing to improve sitting.... Sitting is quite congested....!
Will visit again to explore more....!
I love the all dumplings here, the honey chicken and the beef and black bean. Im slowly working my way through the menu. And the service is really sweet too.
Love this joint tasty fast cheap and close to where i work absolutely love it... also take away option is perfect for when you smash too many dumplings ..
Dumplings here were on point 👌🏻 I feel like we ordered heaps & it only costed around $40. We ordered a bunch of things- BBQ pork bun, vege dumplings, prawn dumplings & pork dumplings. Only downside was I actually felt like I was sitting with the people next to me the tables were so close! Kinda awkward. Also decor was a little outdated, but the food was great
A nice dumplings place in Richmond, you will get all sorts of dumplings here. Would recommend trying the Prawn and pork Pan fried dumplings, seafood dumplings in chilli sauce and regular steamed pork dumplings. Their spicy fish is also good.
A reservation is recommended as the place is often busy.
I absolutely love this place.
If you're even thinking of coming a booking is a must; when we left there were easily 20 people waiting for a table.
The food is so fresh and comes out super quick, everything we got off the menu had no fault. We will be recommending this place to everyone and will definitely be back :)
Super fast, busy and a sense of urgency to eat and go. The table next to us was turned around in under 60 seconds, that's teamwork. Good quality food, comfortable but heavy chairs, attentive service. $53 no alcohol. Catch the 75 or 48 tram.
Most amazing lamb and beef dumplings!! And the lamb ribs are to die for! Fried rice is a little average but otherwise the food is awesome. It does get craaazy busy though and sometimes it's hard to get a waiters attention.
Yes I love dumplings! Very spacious and comfy seating. Family friendly, many young diners there too. Nice deco. We had pork dumplings and vegetarian dumplings. Have to say, there were better than a lot of other shops I've been to. The dumplings were nice and juicy. Pastries were just right, not to thick not too thin. The vegetarian dumplings are very small and cute. The pork ones has some vegetables in them too. Very authentic. Prices are reasonable. Service is very quick and efficient. I would recommend it!
I'm smitten with this place! The Shanghai dumplings are insanely delicious, the broth inside them is beautiful. The pork dumplings and chicken and prawn are both good, all well seasoned so I didn't reach for the soy sauce with any of the dumplings. I had the salt and pepper fried tofu which was a little bland. The duck pancakes are very delicious! The wall I was sitting next to needed a good wipe down, it was covered in splattered soy sauce and gross looking but that's my only complaint. For what this place is- it's superb! Delicious and fast. Can't wait to try more of the menu.
Went here for the second time yesterday and boy was I glad that we booked a table! This place was so busy which is a great sign and the food was so fresh and so tasty!! The food we ordered was Devine! We got the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and the steamed prawn dumplings as well as fried dumplings. I highly recommend going to this restaurant it was a fast and friendly service will be going back!
One of the hidden gem in the heart of Richmind! Didn't expect to find such a nice dumplings place here. We ordered a few dumplings and meat dishes. It's all delicious, flawless! I will definitely be back again! =)
When a real craving for dumplings kicks in, this is probably my favourite place to visit. A sign it's good - no matter when you go all be it a Tuesday lunch, Thursday night or Friday afternoon it's always busy despite being easy to miss on the busy Bridge Road, Richmond.
This was probably my 5th-6th visit - I've also had food from here takeaway but I just feel as though dumplings need to be devoured in house so you can enjoy lashings of crunchy chilli, vinegar and soy which I never have enough of (if at all!) at home.
This time we had the steamed pork dumplings (15), steamed prawn dumplings (8), Peking duck pancakes (5) and the lamb ribs with chilli sauce. I would say after several visits that these 4 items are definite highlights as well as the wontons in chilli sauce, the other varieties of dumplings and also the sweet and sour dishes or pork belly.
This time, the dumplings were lovely, fresh and juicy. The Peking duck pancakes were so light and tasty and the prawn dumplings were almost perfect aside from the hair I found in the steamer. Easy done but it makes me feel a bit nauseous whenever I see it nonetheless.
The lamb ribs are delicious. Crispy, fatty, full of flavour and they just fall about with the touch of your chopstick. Served with a thick chilli sauce on the side they are tasty enough by themselves.
Love this place and for $46 for all the above, you can't complain about the value and quality.
Highly recommend!
Went here with my husband as I am pregnant and craving dumplings. Was pleasantly surprised. Dumplings are very good and cheap too. Was quite busy for a week day as well. We will be back.
Today my girlfriend and I go to this place for dinner. The chairs are sooooooo comfortable. Chicken and corn dumplings and deep fried lamb are my favorite.Such a good place no matter all my friend recommend for me.
Mmmmm in still undecided about this place. Price is great but some dumplings lack flavor. Maybe we just haven't gotten the right dishes on the menu.
Cute little place and like most Asian restaurants the service is quick and friendly. Dumplings came out steady and fast and you would never complain about the price. Highly recommend.
Don't let the relaxed run of the mill facade put you off. It's almost an unspoken law with Asian food, the less impressive the front, the better the food. And the dumplings are suprisingly good. I would travel for the dumplings in Szechuan sauce.
Best Dumplings in Richmond- Pork dumplings are yum! Quick and friendly service and BYO makes it a cheap night. (Don't try other stores in chain, they're not as good).
Excellent dumplings however other meals off the menu aren't as great. But if you're just going for dumplings, its an excellent choice. It's a relaxed environment and would recommend to make a booking.
My favorite restaurant! There is a bottle mart beside it!A really bonus.I like chicken and corn dumping best, the main dish like eggplant with pork pie is delicious too!I booked a big table last week, they gave us a good table, very comfortable.
Just moved in around the corner and find this place a great cheap alternative to bring a bottle of wine and have a cheap but very filling and tasty dinner. Always busy it has a great atmosphere and majority of the staff are always friendly. the pan fried dumpling always have a fair wait so if your looking for a quick meal i recommend going for the steamed alternative.

We love the dumplings here and always a very busy restaurant. Quick and delicious! Recommend booking! Our favourite dumpling of the moment is the corn and chicken in chilli! Yum!
More than just dumplings. The stir fry dishes are just awesome. Even if you're after a cheap feed of dumplings this is the place to visit.
I visited I love dumplings on a Saturday, booked a table for a big group, and they easily accommodated us. We ordered the satay Shanghai noodle, black bean Shanghai noodles, Chinese broccoli, Mongolian beef stir fry, vego dumplings, pork dumplings and pork dumplings in Szechuan sauce. All were delicious, and it was only about $17 each! Bargain.
Do yourself a favour and order the amazing beef and lamb dumplings with Szechuan chilli sauce. Totally delicious and annoyingly addictive!
Love this place for a cheap eat - the dumplings are juicey and flavorsome and you can usually score a table pretty quickly. A good BYO dinner.

Been to this place many times. Some of the best dumplings I've had. Best veggie dumplings so far. The skin is not too thick, just right. Can get busy on the weekends but it's worth the short wait
Our bill comes to around $20-30 for two of us whenever we eat here.
We normally order the szechuan dumpings and the soup dumplings plus another side and they're always amazing! Very good value for money considering we're quite stuffed by the end of it!
Absolutely delicious food and a little more intimate than its sister restaurant in Flemington.
Get the pork buns! My absolute favourite; actual strips of meat on the inside, delicious bun and a little soy sauce never goes astray.
Love their range of drinks, I can get my favourite cider with my dumplings.
Great service too.
Only downside and my tip for new goers: book a table!
If you don't, you are seated near the window where there is no aircon on leather chairs (not good for a summers night); if you book - you are placed further in the restaurant where the aircon is.
Dumplings, everyone loves a dumpling. I want to start off by saying yeah they are pretty good and you probably won't get better in Richmond, but from my own personal experience I don't think I would make the effort to order anything else other than dumplings. I always grab take-away whenever I feel like dumplings because it is quick, easy and cheap. Not to mention this place is always packed.
Good value for your money dumplings and Chinese food, they even got free prawn crackers! The veggie dumplings suprisingly had tofu in them, not a big fan of that. Option to get Scechuan chili sauce was a bit misleading, as the sauce was not even remotely spicy. Good place if you want to share a sneaky dumpling meal with mates but not break your bank while at it. Service was prompt but not super friendly. Maybe they knew we wanted more prawn crackers.
Good dumplings - basic range but very cheap and never disappoints. The pork dumplings in chilli sauce is the pick. Also has a large range of other meals on offer with the Chinese broccoli and salt pepper squid being solid favourites.
Two of us here ate lunch here for less than $20. We ordered 15 pork dumplings which had a nice hit of ginger and a lunch special - stir fried chicken and vegetable hokkien noodles (and a free lemon tea!). There were lots of fresh vegetables tossed throughout, and not just bulk meat and noodles, which was a nice. It provided much needed sustainance before a marathon IKEA trip.
Great selection of dumplings that are all delicious. Also great value for money! Best dumplings in Melbourne. Favourites are the pan fried pork buns, spring onion pancakes and Szechuan pork dumplings.
Nice little dumpling place just outside of the city. Food is well priced and the dumplings are very tasty. Good to see that they put lots of filling in their dumplings. Will definitely be coming back.
Dumplings were large and fresh.
Soy fried rice was alllllright. Haha didn't know why my friends were spotting for it.
Thought the salt pepper calamari was good thou! Tasty and doesn't have a greasy mouthfeel!
Valued for money.

Good place to drop into for lunch during work days. Dumplings are well made and reasonably priced. Restaurant is clean and staff are friendly.
I love dumplings! the food is amazing, the dumplings are so fresh and steaming hot, and the other dishes (spicy calamari and lamb rack) are amazing, filling, and definitely compete with the dumplings. The service is a bit rushed and impersonal, but given the fast aced enviornment it didnt bother me when ive been there. I've ordered some dumplings to take away as well and they are just as good.
Yummi food and great service.
Four of us had a great Friday dinner and everything was tasty, served nicely and unique flavor.
Good pricing as well, definitely recommended.
Beautiful and reasonably priced food. Great atmosphere too. If you are a dumpling lover, a must visit! Convenient location too. Good that it's licensed & BYO

Fresh, tasty food bursting with flavour! Try the spicy eggplant! Dumplings are fresh and delicious! Good value for money, cheap and good quality. For an intimate date or gathering, book upstairs as it is quieter. Highly recommended!
Authentic and very tasty. Was just like being back in Shanghai. The BBQ pork buns, Chinese broccoli and rubbery mushrooms - completely authentic. So good to have have something not changed for western tastes.
My current favourite venue for dumplings.
I'm usually a meat fan, but the steamed vegetarian dumplings with Sichuan chilli sauce are my go to dumplings here!
I haven't even ordered mains here! My wife and I, or my mates and I, just order a few rounds of dumplings!
Awesome place
I came here for date night with my boyfriend and we were quickly squeezed into a table, luckily! Everything came out really quickly except for the pan fried pork dumplings that had a wait due to demand but it was all delicious. Great atmosphere and extremely cheap for the quality of the food!

Delicious Sichuan Dumplings! Great place for large get togethers where eating to your hearts content never seems to cost more than $20. Occasionally they do 'run out' of your faves which can be disappointing. This place serves up great dumplings and dishes (mmmm Chinese broccoli and lemon chicken) at a great price without having to sacrifice for really crappy service (I'm looking at you Shanghai dumplings). Yummy happy bellies every time :)
I'm a sucker for dumpling so couldn't wait to come and try this place. Was seated straight away and ordered the bbq pork buns and prawn and pork dumpling. Everything was delicious. Paid my bill and was out the door. The only thing I can fault this place is that I felt everything was soooo rushed
The only problem with I love dumplings is my unreasonably high expectations I hold to any dumpling house after growing up in box hill. I love dumplings serve small bundles of joy with a smile. Good service good food, but unfortunately if I had the choice id still make the trek back out to box hill.
Keep it up guys you by far have the best dumplings in Richmond!
Can never go past this for dumplings. Quick service once you get a table and always delicious! Only problem is over ordering! Will head back time and time again.
This dumpling place in Richmond for sure! Went on a Saturday night and it was fairly busy. Although we didn't make a booking Leone had to wait for about 15 to 20 minutes to get a table. Have the dumplings and fried rice and couldn't fault them.
Having 4 people is perfect so that variety can be ordered. The food is great and picking a good wine to take adds to the fun.
Always a great cheap and cheerful!! Wonderful menu and everything is always executed well. Staff are attentive and always helpful. This is a regular and would highly recommend to someone who's after yum food without the expensive price tag.

I love dumplings...no, really I relish the little balls of simplicity and tastiness.
This joint does a mean dumpling. Choose from a wide range of fillings, rather than the typical "pork" or "pork" or...the other favourites in chinese restaurants. Together with a Humming atmosphere and decently priced food, this is a triple threat. Enjoy!
Wonderfully tasty dumplings and inexpensive too; $10.80 for 15 decent sized dumplings is good value. This place is so consistent that we've been going there weekly for last 2 years and I cannot remember a single visit where we were disappointed (by food or service). Their Chicken & Prawn Steamed Dumplings, Pork Dumplings in Sichuan Oil, and Pan Fried Pork Dumplings are the best.
To be honest, the best Pan Fried Pork Dumplings are at Shanghai Street Dumplings at the corner of Russell & LaTrobe St (CBD). But again, this place is quite high-end and the CBD place is street-style; they both are extremely yummy.

Delicious dumplings for a very reasonable price. This is our go to dumpling restaurant for when we have cravings. Can't go wrong with the xiao long bao and wontons in Szechuan sauce.
I love this place. The dumplings are cheap and delicious - the steamed pork in sechuan chilli sause are seriously amazing. I will be having those every single time.
When it gets busy the staff can get a bit frazzled and inattentive, but it is a hectic and popular little place so that's understandable.
Great dumpling joint. It has become my go-to for tasty dumplings either take away or dine in. Delicious food, friendly and quick service and pleasant surrounds for eating in. Some of the other dishes can seem a bit over priced in comparison to other asian restaurants but the quality is always good. Would definitely recommed.
Went for dinner with friends and loved the BYOW option. We arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic and they had our table ready and waiting. The menu had plenty of Chinese options and the price was very reasonable.
As the venue has dumplings in the name we decided to try various sorts including the steamed prawn, chicken and corn pan fried, Shanghai pork dumplings (they have a yummy juice inside so be sure not to pop it before you eat it) and the beef and lamb in Szechuan chilli sauce. They were all cooked to perfection and served up nice and hot. The food service was quick and the staff very accommodating to our friend in a wheelchair. We wanted to try so much more but couldn't fit it in, so another reason to come back 😃
I love dumplings and this place for dumplings. I love their schezuan chilli oil in their soupy dumplings and it's worth every penny you pay. A regular here.@
So cheap! We had a large group and sat upstairs. It was quite loud and bright. But the atmosphere was bustling and very similar to a restaurant in Hong Kong. The dumplings are probably the reason it is called I Love Dumplings. They were awesome. We had a few other dishes like fried eggplant and chilli beans. They too were flavoursome. I could almost bring my Father in Law here. He is quite the Chinese food connoisseur. Ended up being about $25 per head. We BYO'd our wine.
Always love going there as there are little I do not like and will not eat here. The food is always amazing and fresh and the service is as expected, quick and friendly. The price is awesome as well.
Always good and always busy. Shanghai pork dumplings are amazing! Chicken and corn are good, as are the Sichuan sauce dumplings. Staff are very attentive when it's less busy.
New favourite of mine! I had to wait for about 5 minutes for a table to be free but the staff were very accommodating and keeping me informed! The dumplings and bbq pork buns came out in fantastic time and were eaten just as quickly. Loved every mouthful. Will definitely be back
One of the most comfortable dumpling places in Melbourne. Eggplant and tofu dish is sensational. Only negative was that some xaio long bao had been cooked to the point of splitting.
In terms of a Dumpling restaurant, this particular establishment is in the top percentile in the city. The service is great (in compassion to most of dumpling restaurant) and their range of succulent Chinese parcels are fairly standard but of high quality. Steamed pork are always a winner.
Fantastic dumplings! The best I've had in a long time, favourites are pork and seafood with Szechuan sauce. I've also tried the Szechuan Beef and the Pork Spare ribs, both are good but the dumplings are by far my favourite.

The food here is delicious. Some of the best dumplings going around. The lamb is really good, recommend it highly. Another bonus is BYO, wine only though. There's a bottle-o next door.
Love I Love Dumplings! The prices are affordable the service is (usually) fast and it's BYO. Pretty much perfect when you want to have a cheap night out with friends.
The staff are some of the rudest outside of Victoria St with the exception of one petite man. They literally push you off tables and ask you to leave when you are still waiting on food as they are so busy. Huge bonus for BYO alcohol. Food is consistently excellent. You have to try the fried lotus root.
Great. In my opinion, these are the best tasting dumplings in melbourne
Great food great service - we had to come back to see if it was that good...it was!! The range of dumplings is impressive and so good!! Fantastic value.
Arrived for Sunday lunch and the restaurant was empty. We were seated at window & staff were tentative and friendly. The food was great, we had a few different varieties of dumplings and the shredded potato. The restaurant was packed halfway through our meal, it was a great atmosphere and not too crowded.
In terms of foods best enjoyed with someone special dumplings are king and I Love Dumplings is certainly a restaurant staking their claim to the throne. This is a great place to go if you (like us) love dumplings.
Amazing. My friend and i have dinner almost 3,4 days a week! Fast service, friendly and helpful waiter/ress~~ fair price!! Just too many people, a little bit dark and the table too close :p but we all like dumplingsss!!
Great food. Took the wife here for Valentine's Day. The dumplings were awesome. We also had the satay beef and the salt and pepper fried pork which was fantastic. The place was crowded, tables close together so the ambience wasn't great but for a good feed it was well worth it.
We tried to eat at the CBD store tonight and found out they are all closed on Mondays despite Google saying that CBD and Flemington are open.
Excellent food and fast service. Spicy wonton, xiaolongbao and pan fried pork dumplings are standouts. All the sizzling meats are delicious too. However, I'm not so keen on the salt and pepper tofu or the chicken san choi bao - both a bit too blend for my taste. Overall, an 8 out of 10.
I love the Japanese dumplings! Delicious! Went with a friend on a super busy Sunday night but we had a booking so no wait for a table. Took a while to take our order and for the food to come out but hey, it was busy! I will be back!
Fast service, really nice dumplings and sizzling dishes, very understanding staff. We ordered too much to start with and the staff were very good about us changing our mind.
Pork dumplings and eggplant dish are delicious!. We celebrated my friend's birthday there and got a table upstairs (perfect setting for a nice dinner with friends). One person ordered different things to share and everything was delicious! The fact that it's BYO wine made the experience even better! Great spot! Definitely be back!
Yum! We went Friday night for dinner. If you have a few people best to book. Service was fantastic and dumplings just so good.
Quick, quick, quick but still yum! Seems to still be cooked fresh & tastes delicious. Will come back when I'm in the area.
Festivus - Awesome dumplings but..... Actually the best dumplings I have had
Broke out in rash next day which tells me MSG used as that’s what happens
If you not allergic to MSG go
Great dumplings always! Fast, fresh and tasty. However service is far from friendly and helpful.
I DO love dumplings. I've never sat down to eat but I have taken away plenty of times and the quality has never been bad! I'm a sucker for the prawn dumplings, pork buns and spring onion pancake. The small entree size meals are also awesome and the honey prawn are a favourite. The special fried rice is nice, but honestly feels like steamed rice with some peas and carrots thrown in; nice and light but not the special fried rice that comes to my mind.
Shanghai pork dumplings were the best I've had. Delish!! Pros: Quality, fresh, affordable. Cons: abrupt service, plates not bowls (odd for dumplings)
Sure loved their dumplings. The name of the restaurant does not disappoint when eating there. Great dumplings, have visited several times.
Dumplings!. Without a doubt the best dumplings I have ever had....sure a little pricey compared to other dumplings. But they're worth it and it's still very good value.
Superb Food !. My partner and I pay a visit to this fantastic restaurant at least once a month if not twice because their dumplings are the best I've tried so far. The staff are very kind, friendly and professional. We always leave this restaurant happy and feeling MONEY WELL SPENT. I highly recommend it to you. Please make reservations if you are arriving after 7.00pm because they are highly sort after and it's packed even on a Tuesday evening!
Great dumplings. The food here is undeniably good - go for the steamed chicken and prawn dumplings and the pan-fried pork dumplings. Service is, however, very hit-and-miss - with wait times for basics (such as water and cutlery) often slow. Vegetable dishes are over-priced but the rest is good value.
I love dumplings...yes I do. I love dumplings. Therefore, very fitting! And so, I can't really speak about the other dishes, because in my number of visits to I Love Dumplings, I have had less than a handful of dishes that weren't dumplings. The dumplings (of which I've tried the vegetarian, the seafood, the pork, the chicken and prawn, and the lamb and beef) both steamed and fried have been delicious...although I've barely met a dumpling I didn't like! Just a note - not as quick (or as cheap) as other dumpling places, but still good value!!
Great dumplings, good decor n fast service
Yummy. I ended up going there a few weeks in a row sometimes eating in a other times a sunday morning takeaway and either way it tends to be an ok feast some of the dumplings are pretty bog standard but the ones that are good are awesome and with the 15 dumplings for like $6 i cant really complain so try it out folks.
Not just dumplings. We almost didn't try this one because I thought it would be all dumplings but the menu is huge and so many other amazing dishes to choose from. We all had a great meal and a bonus was that it was very cheap.
Service was fantastic and they didn't rush you.
One Well Fed Lady
Do not order the special fried rice. Dumplings were ok 6/10. Shredded pork with bean curd wrap was good. It was a bit sweet but ask for the Szechuan chili.
Absolutely gorgeous, my favourite restaurant to date.
Great Place for a group. I have been to this place numerous times. It is a really nice place to have a dinner with friends or family. Most dumpling places have a "gungy" feel about them (which is fine when it's not a special occasion) but I Love Dumplings just has a really nice feel.
their seats are a bit weird and annoying (too large) but they are reasonably comfortable.
I Generally order for whatever group i'm with. we just have a whole heap of dumpling dishes and share amongst the table. I've not had any i don't like and I think i have tried all the dumplings flavours.
the staff are attentive and polite but sometimes there is a bit of a problem with their english.
value for money is great - a little more expensive than other dumpling places ($20 a head with drinks will fill you up).
Interesting food. I've been here quite a few times and, yes, I always get some dumplings for entree but they seem to me to be getting a bit 'samey'. Probably just me. I do swear, though, that if I was blindfolded I wouldn't be able to tell one dumpling from another. Lately I've just been letting my friends order and pinching one or two of theirs. Tasty little buggers though.
The main course food is delicious and interesting. I have a few favourites - the eggplant dishes, the spicy green beans etc, but I always try a new one and haven't been disappointed yet.
No complaints with the staff or service.
Good cheap Asian food, with outstanding service and not getting forced off you table once finished....is this a world first? Well done. Will be back.
Pretty standard food and reasonable. The eggplant stir fry is delish.
I do love dumplings. I really love dumplings, what im starting to realise tho, is that its not hard to do them well, and its really hard to do them poorly. That being said, these guys hit the mark for taste and price and generally provided a nice dining experience. The waiters were "fresh" but friendly. Our order was taken promptly, service was quite quick and for $15.00 I got a really healthy sized meal (sharing with a buddy). In a genre where its quite hard to be bad, these guys do it quite well and would happily recommend for dumpling restaurants. If you're looking for something to blow you away, then this isnt the place, but a casual Thursday night with friends and its perfect. Good Stuff
Fructose malabsorption influenced: book a table for a party of 5 on a fri night. Really popular, busy, loud, awesome atmosphere for us (in our 20s), nicely decorated, modern, and very clean. Called up prior to ask about dishes with no onion or garlic, was informed I could order anything except for dumplings and to just tell the waiter as onions and garlic can be left off. Fantastic menu selection, I was so excited!! Went with a white fish dish, mixed vegetables, and an amazing tofu w shredded pork dish. Absolutely delish. Everything cooked perfectly, the fish and veggie dish had the same sauce, would have been better to choose a variety but loved the flavour. Would go back again and order the tofu w pork dish all to myself. The tofu was so silky and the sauce was to die for. I went crazy and was in a food coma. Apparently my friend's dumplings were great also, not to the standard of Hutong Dumplings but more than satisfactory for the price I think. The service was exceptional - the waitress came back to check on me about the onion and garlic. We had way too much food and cost only $30 per person. We brought our own wine. Fantastic place, will rush back.
Hot and fun. 'I love dumplings' is not just awesome dumplings its yummy all round north eastern Chinese food!
The pan fried pork dumplings are super yummy. Efficient, pleasant service. The dining room is a little loud so hard to hear particularly sitting near the back.
Consistently Great. We've been here a number of times with small groups through to groups of 25+ people and the food is always great.
Prices are very reasonable and far closer to Authentic Chinese (the type you get in smaller Chinese cities and not the westernised slop many serve) than any other in Melbourne we have found.
I highly recommend this for any group size.
Delicious!. I've been to many dumpling places in Melbourne and this is by far one of the best. The place is clean with modern decor, we ordered several dumpling and vegetarian dishes, everything was delicious, especially the fried ice cream. The service was great, we didn't have to wait long at all even on a busy Friday night. Will definitely be back!
LOVED the dumplings. I ate here about a month ago and I love the dumplings. The only things that let it down was the service. But you can forgive the service when the food is soooooooooo good.
Looove it. Great menu with plenty of options beyond just dumplings, if you aren't that way inclined. BYO which is always good and there's a bottle shop next door which is perfect. 10 of my friends and I showed up on a Friday night, no booking and they managed to seat us within about 15 minutes, we certainly were not expecting that and almost didn't even try it because we didn't think we would get in! I wouldn't recommend doing this, next time I will book for sure, they are very popular and for good reason!
Loved it! Best dumplings I've ever had and super cheap. Will def be coming back :)
Food was ok. I wouldnt say the best dumplings but still worth the meal.
Dumpling Perfection. You will need to book in advance here if you are keen to get a dumpling fix - we had a very early booking on a Friday and the service was good - accommodating for kids as well. The steamed and fried dumplings were among the best I have eaten and the Peking duck pancakes were a real treat as was the pork belly - finger licking good. Food came out quickly and was pretty good value for money - I did like how you can order half serves of the dumplings so you can try out a few different varieties. They accept credit card payment too which is great. Will be back to try more.
Delicious. The best dumplings I have ever had by far! But it is not only the dumplings worth going for, all the other dishes I've sampled from my few visits there have been absolutely delicious!
Best dumplings ever!. This is my most favourite dumplings restaurant in all of Melbourne!
It is clean and the people are lovely and most importantly the food is amazing. :-)
Better than Chinatown. I much prefer the dumplings here to HuTong in the city. Service is fast and food is tasty and reasonably good value. Can get very busy for dinner.
Cheap, cheerful and tasty - what more would you want?. My friend recommended we attend I Love Dumplings for dinner.
They have the nicest dumplings I have ever tasted not to mention well priced.
The place is crowded and it's loud, but the dumplings are so worth it!
If you are a dumpling fan, you must go!
We loved it. Went on fri night. Fast, friendly service and the dumplings were great. My son demolished them. Also had spicy snake beans. Will definitely be back.
Good dumplings. Great food, ok customer service, good price. Come early for dinner so you get a table :)
The food is worth it.... Okay, so sometimes the service here is lacking... but be patient the wait is worth it.
Highly recommend the steamed veg or chicken and prawn dumplings in chilli oil. The veggie dumplings are beautiful and juicy, which I have noticed can be quite a rare occurrence! Their spring onion pancake is one of the better version of this dish in Melbourne... Worth the sometimes shakey service if you're local and want some good dumplings without having to travel for them!
Our local dumpling place. Great food, efficient and friendly staff (even when it is packed out) and pricing is good too. Their prawn dumplings are amazing.
Gotta love the chicken sweet corn soup!. I come here every monday n tuesday night just for the chicken sweet corn soup.
their small chicken sweet corn soup is incredibly large!
will keep coming back for it!
the environment is pretty good. Not to mention it is always packed during dining peak. Booking is essentials
-----18 May, 2013-----
Best place to have a lunch and dinner.
Quiet place for lunch
Busy place for dinner
Book in advance for weekend dining.
It is always packed at night.
Definitely a come back place for dumpling and lots of main dishes. :)
CAme here today with a girlfriend for an early lunch , place was empty which I was happy about as I had read the reviews about time it takes for food to come out so was glad know one was before us .
We were seated and given water quickly . We ordered the pan fried lamb and beef dumplings - absoulutly delishious could not fault them . Hand made with lots of flavour and ingredience . Steamed prawn and chicken very nice too loved the sauce that came with it , lots of chilly but not spicy so I loved it !
Did take about 25mins to come out we ordered Jasmin tea which helped fill in the time and warm us .
For aprox $25 for two and we were pretty full . Very happy . Service was pretty good.
Will be back.
I LOOOVE I Love Dumplings!! Although I miss some of the mainstays and variety of conventional Yum Cha we just cannot look past the quality of the dumplings here. The Sichuan chilli dumplings are heavenly and value for money can't be beat.
I LOVE DUMPLINGS IN BRIDGE ROAD! NOT VICTORIA STREET
Pretty good dumplings here, defiantly get the ones with the chili sauce (there not to spicy) there is a few weird things on the menu but well worth a visit!
Amazing home food. I was born in Northern China and I can say the dumplings here reminds me so much of home, but better. They've managed to use the traditional technics mixed with morden fresh ingredients. It's a place I will come back for more
The dumplings are to die for:)))) value for money, clean venue, sweet staff and cheap wine list !
Called with a friend for a quick lunch and tried the pork dumplings and fried pork dumplings. Ordered large serves if each and were thrilled. Dumplings were great and serves large to the point of defeating us which doesn't happen often. Our new go to place for dumplings
Worth seeking out.. I expected more dodgy laminex, waving cats and gaudy lanterns, suprisingly slick. Good quality dumplings. Nice place, good food, great value, a place I'll go back to.
Great dumplings, friendly service. What a lovely spot for a quick, weeknight meal. I was surprised by the spaciousness and quality of the fitout, and the attentiveness of the friendly staff.
There were just two of us, and we orderd chinese broccoli, steamed vegie dumplings and fried pork dumplings. The broccoli was tender and the serving generous, the veg dumplings had a fresh, green and mushroomy filling. The highlight was by far the delicious fried pork dumplings. The filling was so tender and flavoursome without any weird texture or goobly bits you sometimes get in porky fillings. Next time we will get the large serving!
The bill came to just over $22 for two people...no complaints about that! We'll be back, great to have this place as a local.
Dumplings came out hot and fresh which was a welcome change from the likes of the cities Shanghai Village Dumplings which come out cold, soggy and oozing with oil. I love dumplings had a broad range of dumplings and other dishes available with the hastily written additions suggesting it is a work in progress. We had pan fried beef and lamb which were delish as well as the steamed prawn dumpling which arrived delicately in a steamer the boys were very impressed! Overall tasty, filling meal for four at $10 each.
I love the wallpaper. Seriously the decor is kooky but cute. We love the fact we no longer have to get into the city for a great feed of dumplings. And it's cheap
Really, really good!! Service, price and food all top notch. The pan fried lamb and beef dumplings were a personal favourite. The only grumble I had from the meal, and it is only a minor grumble, is the music that was played. I don't think generic top40 pop music is suited to such a cool place. But overall, a restaurant we will sure return to!
Yum dumplings! Not the best ive ever had but pretty yum! Slow service but friendly staff!!
Wow. Best dumplings I've ever had. That is all.
Walked in with a group of 9 on Thursday evening, without a booking. The restaurant was packed, yet staff accommodated us within 15 minutes. The food was served quickly and very pleasing. The chicken and prawn dumplings were fantastic and vegetable spring rolls very good. Great food, service as expected on a busy night and cheap meal:) recommended to all!
Super cheap & super delicious. My boyfriend and I have frequented. Duck rolls, dumplings, spring rolls, & having tried numerous pork and beef dishes, we have been pleasantly satisfied on all occasions! We will continue to go back. If you want cheap and good food away fromdodgy Victoria Street go here! Nice, clean and large space. Great little addition to Bridge Road.
Great Dumplings. I Love Dumplings has become a favourite on Bridge Rd! The Shanghi Pork and Sichuan Chilly pork and faultless. The dine-in service is great and fast but the takeaway service can take much longer than the 25 minutes they quote. All in all this restaurant serves great dumplings this side of town.
Great food, great service!!! AAA+ Will make this a regular thing
I love I Love Dumplings. The Dumplings here are delicious and the tofu is amazing. It's all really cheap as well. All of these things make up for the fact that the service ain't great.
Dumplings yes, laksa, no!. Definitely the best dumplings I've had outside of Chinatown or Box Hill!
We've had the pork, chicken & prawn and prawn options - all great, especially with the tasty sichuan sauce.
Service is a bit hit and miss (well meaning, but maybe not very organised?), as is the rest of the menu. I have to agree with other reviewers here - avoid the laksa - not their strong suit! Similarly, the Mongolian Beef was super sweet, more like a meaty dessert!
For a relaxed meal of dumplings and beer, it's a winner! We'll be back.
Dumplings 10/10. Sevice 0/10
Asian Food 0/10
DUMPMLINGS 10/10
These dumplings are addictive though the service is bad (they mean well) and the asian food is terrible.
This place is good for the dumplings nothing else.
The best dumplings for miles!. Try the Pork Sichuan Chilly dumplings....they are epic, the service is fine, this is an inexpensive busy restaurant so let's be realistic here...they do their best! I wasn't a fan of the chicken stir fry but I absolutely salivated over the dumplings and the peking duck chinese bread things...love!
Lovely dumplings. Service was fine, Dumplings were great
Name says it all. Sunday night special..good, cheap dumplings with nice service. pan fried pork were awesome as was the shanghai dumplings (we had 3 serves). the chilli oil could use a bit more kick but all in all am a fan, recommend
This place makes me love dumplings more than ever before. You must try the Sichuan chilly sauce dumplings!
Yummy laksa!. Yummy fresh laksa with vegetables, very big servings. Had the vegetable dumplings as well and they were great. Good menu variation. Service was good and restaurant was clean and welcoming! Very cheap! We loved it!
Great Dumplings. We visited this restaurant last night for a dumpling fest - they did not disappoint - the steamed pork dumplings were lovely and juicy with a nicely textured pastry, and the pan fried beef dumplings were tasty. We also had the vegetarian dumplings - also great, but they were perhaps our least favourite of the three. Great dumplings, china town prices and in a location much closer to us is going to be a very dangerous combination for us - we'll be regulars here for sure.
Absolutely fantastic. The pork Sichuan steamed dumplings are incredible. Great food. Great price.

I Love Dumplings is a popular dumpling house on Bridge Road that is growing in reputation and popularity. This is a great place to dine in with modern fit out of exposed brick, impressive artwork, funky lighting as well as traditional lamps, large tables that cater for groups, timber floor, and steel counter.
I really do Love Dumplings!! So we had to visit I Love Dumplings on Bridge Road and see how their dumpling performance was going! Plus they were offering Peking Duck Pancakes – Bonus!! It is a surprisingly lovely setting inside, huge comfy leather chairs and heavy wooden tables, big leather bound menus full of hardcore dumplings and more! Blood tofu and chickens feet are readily available here!! Prices are reasonable with six dumplings costing you about $10 and you know what – they are some of the best dumplings I have had so they are an absolute bargain at that price!! The savoury onion pancake is that fried carby hit that we all love and I suppress the urge to devour the whole thing! Sharing is caring people!! The steamed chicken and prawn dumplings with Sichuan chilli sauce is the most perfect dish of succulent, aromatic, chilli ‘hum’ loveliness ever! So glad we ordered the lamb and beef too!! Loved watching everyone trying to get the last of the sauce off their plates with a spoon!
Great laksa for reasonable price. Dumplings are okay too but not as good as their laksa I felt. The service was average (we had to ask to be seated, and the service was not too attentive, but it was quick :)) The furnitures were a little dated. Based on this laksa, I would still come back.
Second time here, overall a great experience from the service and food. Had the xiao long bao and steam pork dumplings. Reasonable price and good portion sizes. Only wished they had a pork and chives option. Had a solo to wash it down for $2. Like the decoration of this place too. Accepts credit cards!!!
