Dropped in for a quick lunch for 6. Not overly busy. Had a chicken and a fish souvlaki, lamb goodness bowl, falafels, Hellenic slaw, grain salad, pitta and tzatziki, and chips with feta, followed by limited special of loukamades with honey and salted caramel icecream. Food is very consistent every time we go, and service quick. You order at the counter and take a number. Best value is the $1 cone which you fill with Yo-Chi frozen yoghurt at the self-service bar.

Trying Jimmy Grants the first time using uber eats. I got the chips with fetta and Nonna Maria. The chips were nice and cripy. The Nonna Maria was good but a bit dry. I think we need more sauce.

i can down this meal anytime of anyday š some dishes just need to be simple and done well to make them great, tasty, tender marinated lamb with punchy tatziki and fluffy pita š not to mention the cheeky rib souvlaki's š¤ never fails to disappoint šš½
We were in Richmond and pretty hungry. Both of us ordered this meal to share. Very good value. The service was very good. The lamb and beef were so tender. Chips were tasty and crunchy. Happy to order this meal again in the future
Jimmy Grants in Richmond. Nicely decorated and so many minors in the house. Lovely place and friendly staff with good service. Love their souvlaki lamb and nice hot fresh. A little bit expensive but good to have a try.
Will come back for:
+ Garden Salad
+ Feta Chip
+ Nona Maria (Chicken Kebab)
Great to have another JG in this part of town. The space is huge compared to some of the other branches. The quality of the kebabs (particularly the thick mayo sauce and the succulent Meats really makes the kebabs a bit special). My favourite is the Nona Maria. The chips with the generous handful of feta is moorish and the garden salad provides a little bit of acid to balance off the meal. Prices seem to have creeped up so itās not cheap for the size, but if you feel like the occasional kebab to spoilt yourself, you canāt really go wrong with JG.
Popped in for a souva at JGās somewhere I donāt tend to frequent as I think they are quite small and not particularly filling. There used to be a prawn one but that seems to have left the menu which is upsetting but the lamb chicken combo sufficed.
I will say this about Georgeās souvas they donāt have that greasy feel to them and you donāt spend the remainder of the day vastly dehydrated so the higher price is perhaps somewhat justified by the better quality. A delicious on the go meal
Jimmyās grants you go good.
Night in & uber eats to the rescue.
Feta chips always a good choice & Mr Pās was delicious & good option.
Flavours all there Jimmyās never disappoints.
I got the ms. gazi souva and it was very tasty. The service was quick and warm. However, the seating is awkward, particularly for larger groups
Amazing Soulvaās, love this place!!! Would strongly recommend the Ms Gazi and Chicken Soulva while you are at it make sure you try the fish dip, warm feta chips (now I am hungry again) and grain salad. Great price for a higher end take away. 11/10
I go here for lunch about once a week. Along with the usual Jimmy Grants tastiness, the staff are always so attentive, friendly, and lovely, despite dealing with the barrage associated with the normal, hectic lunch time rush around Richmond. Always a pleasure to venture here.
Souvlaki with chips in the wrap. Yum. For $10 it's not bad. I don't quite know what happened to my souva though, because I think I may have inhaled it, because it was gone within seconds. That mustard aioli was just the best thing ever invented.
Jimmy Grantās souvas, while tasty as all hell theyāre definitely not your dirty 3am kebab. They arenāt exactly loaded but they are very delicious.

As the casual sibling of George Caloumbarisā empire, Jimmy Grants provides a bit of fun, bringing fresh ingredients without all the greasiness. The Richmond store boasts impressive architectural design. Glitzy golden arches and mirrors make it seem much larger than it really is.
We decided to try out Jimmy Grants when we were running short on time to catch a movie at Victoria Gardens. We needed food fast but not fast food. Jimmy Grants delivered on this front. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Food came out hot and fresh, and super quick. We had the Mr Papadopoulos and The Med Diet, with a side of pita which kinda defeat the purpose of being on a Mediterranean diet. But who cares! I love my carbs!
The souvalaki was better than alright, not perfect but the lamb was juicy and tender. Would have been much better with a bit more filling, as it was a tad puny when compared to the ginormous souvas from late night kebab joints. Price-wise, itās a bit steep for the serving size too.
The Med Diet was also fairly decent - the chicken was tasty and moist, but the lamb was run-of-the-mill and had more fat than the ones in our souvlaki. Different cuts or is it just me?
Crunchy hot chips topped with feta and oregano was my favourite of the night, and my partner really liked the soft pita bread and refreshing beetroot salad. Simple arenāt we, no?
One thing that got my partner all excited was the playlist of the night - Guns Nā Roses all the way! To whoever that was in charge of the music, youāre a legend. My partner awards you 5 stars!
I enjoyed lunch at Jimmy Grants considering I'm not the biggest fan of Greek food. I had the patris, the feta chips, saganaki soldiers. The saganaki soldiers- I LOVE. Fried cheese with honey will always taste amazing. The patris souvlaki was alright, nothing to shout about. It was really small and it just consisted of a piece of the bread, mayo, cilantro and 3 tiny pieces of shrimp. It wasn't spectacular at all but it wasn't terrible either. On the other hand, the chips were delicious with the feta and oregano. The interiors were unique and lots of natural light came in. Overall, I had a good experience and I ticked off Jimmy Grants on my list- but I probably won't be coming back.
Food to die for - better than the Ormond store and thatās hard to beat!!!! We love this place!!!!!! Food comes out so quickly and staff look like they want to be there onya Georgie!!!!!

Not the biggest fan of Greek street food but I really enjoyed my dinner at Jimmy Grants. I wasnāt quite in the mood for a souvlaki, so I opted for the med diet which includes your choice of meat, salad and tatziki. It was really good! I chose the lamb and beetroot salad. The meat was very tasty and tender and the beetroot salad with almonds was delicious. I really love the interior of the Richmond Jimmy Grants too. Definitely a fun spot to grab a bite to eat & a beer with a group friends.
Great quality and tasty meat in the souvlaki (lamb & chicken) recommended you order a separate portion of chips and possibly go for the large size souvlaki if you're hungry.
I've had an uber order from jimmy grants in Richmond twice now and both meals have been good. The eat like a Greek combo is good value for money and there is plenty of it. I really enjoyed the chips and the salads. A good option for a lazy night in.
After being pleasantly surprised but how good JG has satiated my stomach over a couple of weekends when I've been too lazy to cook or leave the house via UberEats I decided to drop into the restaurant itself. To be honest, I hate the decor and the interiors- I just don't get it, and I feel like it cheapens the place as opposed to 'elevating it'. I understand that this may be the idea - to make it a more casual space but it's confusing and also quite distracting.Ā
Food-wise, I found eating in to be just slightly better than having it delivered which is consistently the same. My partner and I always get the Feast Like A Greek or the Med Diet and opt for extra hummus (taste amazing!) and sub-out the pita bread and chips for another salad if we can. The meat, grain salad and beetroot salad are very tasty and we have not been disappointed once. The lamb and chicken dishes are tender and packed with flavour. My only concern for this place is that with a hot favourite of mine Bahari just a stones throw away, if I had to toss up between the two for dinner I would almost always choose Bahari as it has a lot more atmosphere and is not extremely dear!
Hooked on the Med diet meal - lamb & grain salad. I could eat this every week. Love it! Such tasty goodness... hope it's not too unhealthy on the old waistline
Above and beyond service provided with my delivery. Food as always exceptional................................................................

Almost embarrassed to say I ordered this twice yesterday on uber eats šš
My go-to is the Nonna Maria (chicken souvlaki) and the chips with feta (so salty but so good)
Absolutely delicious and filling
Gotta say that 90 % of the time i get a souva from here i am satisfied however last couple of times has been a bit inconsisten, way too much coriander in the prawn souva.
Jimmy Grants located near the busy intersection. Bistro style order is a challenge for us to decide. It was nice & quiet to come on Mother's day late lunch.
Very friendly knowledgeable staff recommended Souvas: nonna maria and the bonegilla which have mix chicken & lamb.
Both of them had good flavorful meat and soft pita.
They have finished all without a word, I would say very competitive to surrounding takeaway shops.
Thin cut Feta chips, a big wedge cut beet salad, both bottled red/green juice (expected made to order) were good too.
This is my go to for cheap good food. The food is always consistently good, the staff are great, very friendly and who always make great recommendations.
Jimmy Grants is a very very very pretty restaurant, the lights are amazing, make me feel I'm in Europe, on the side street and having a date. The souvas was yummy, price was reasonable, the waiters are great and very good looking, that's defiantly a plus point
Ordered online the 200g chicken and the 200g slow roasted lamb shoulder. The food was delicious and cooked very well (esp for delivery) Only disappointment that it was a tad on the small size. The pictures also online were a little deceiving as I assumed I would get sides with the meals.
Somewhat the souvlaki came out smaller than average. However it tasted good. I tried both their beef and chicken souvlaki in two separate occassions and I was pretty happy both times. The interior of this place was also quite nicely designed.
Love jimmy grants for a quick (and fatty) bite. Not a huge fan of the feta sprinkled over the chips. A good and interesting touch, however salty and pointless. The homer wrap is fairly average however I suppose you can't expect too much from falafel
Was taken here by a friend who was raving about these Souvlaki's.Ā Gotta say, they were the real deal.Ā Perhaps a touch on the small side would be my only comment, but other than that, the falbours were amazing.Ā Will definitely be back for more.
Jimmy Grands does good, affordable modern Greek food. The Homer (falafel with slaw and tasty mayo sauce) is my favourite though the lamb (with chips inside) and chicken ones are popular too. The chips come with feta sprinkled though them - so tasty. You can eat in or takeaway.
The Richmond store is like a 70's glass trophy. Very interesting and unusual interiors. The staff are great too and once took a ridiculously big phone order and had it prepared for me with only 15mins notice. Fantastic.
Could have never guessed Jimmy Grants as immigrants. Certainly one of the best places that I have been to do Greek/ Mediterranean cuisine. Fresh is the one word to describe it and tasty the second. Simple menu, quick service and a good ambience makes for a repeat visit restaurant.
A very non-souvlaki souvlaki in the form of the Patris - which had prawns, cucumber, coriander, mint complemented by a delicious honey/mayo sauce. Ā Of course, there is the more traditional form with lamb, chicken or falafel version which was just as good. The ever-present chilli sauce you expect to see in a Vietnamese pho restaurant was also on every table. The decor was anything but Greek but the service was fast and good. A good place for a quick lunch bite.
Jimmy Grants has been on my 'to eat' list for a while now - the impressive decor alone has had me intrigued since they opened up. Firstly: chips in souvlaki are amazing - Jimmy's does this! Not satisfied with just having chips in my lamb souva, I also insisted that we order chips on the side (with feta, garlic oil and oregano) which I subsequently doused in the sriracha found on the table (you heard right). The food came out super quick and whilst this certainly isn't top tier Greek food, it's fast, delish and hits the spot. Only drawback for me was that my lamb souva and my partner's falafel souva came out on the same plate - whilst we weren't too bothered, this would be a massive no-no for vegan (as well as some vegetarian) diners. But yeah - tasty food and gorgeous surroundings. Do visit!

From the moment I walked in I fell in love with this placed, the amazing brickwork and unique design is amazing to me, the friendly staff were great and the only con was the having to go order our food from the front.
I started with some saganaki cheese that was actually fried in batter witch I had never had before and was amazing! The jimmys dimmy's were also perfect for a starter and the lamb shoulder could not of been cooked any better I was amazed as to how easily it feel apart and tasted!
Job well done and will be returning soon

Good food, good quality and good price. One of my favourites place here at Melbourne. Every few and then I go to have 2 of them, even. But I think it should be a little bit bigger.

Not the best souvlaki, but still satisfied me at a starving night.
Great food George!, I recommend "Eat like a Greek" good food after a good night out. Forget Lamb on chapel. This place really take you back to the 70's.
DO: The Bongellia my absolute favourite with the mustard aioli. For something different, the Patris isn't bad either.Ā
DON'T: Forget the usual lamb and chicken suspects. Equally as good.Ā
TIP: The place gets packed and it's easy to see why, gorgeous fitout and amazing food. Best to come during off peak times but hey, that's all part of the appeal. Some really good looking people visit that place (obviously not talking about myself here).
Even though Smith Street isn't far from Abbotsford, finding out about the more recent Church Street branch was great as it meant I could catch one tram rather than walking (or driving) to Smith Street. The best opportunity arose whilst deciding what to have for dinner coming back on a tram from Box Hill. It's been a long time but the thought of souvlaki always seems to excite me and I'm more enamoured with Jimmy's since my first visit (
Great place the food is delicious. Came here the other night and our meal was taking a little longer than usual and as we got our meals the manager gave us free chips on the house for being patient. So nice of him as it wasn't even that long of a wait.
Great venue and tasty souvlaki. Went for lunch and it wasn't too busy and they do a great meal deal for a souvlaki fries and drink for $15. Great value for a quick lunch. The decor is very trendy and the staff were attentative and friendly.
I can change my mind about my dislikes of a "chain" or "franchise" restaurant like Jimmy Grants ....
Okay, I can appreciate the effort in making each restaurant/eatery interior different from the other, I'm sure is a challenge/nightmare for their Interior Designer. I guest it's an intriguing variety "showcasing" what "styles" Greek migrants brought to Australia.Ā
This Richmond eatery interior brought us back to the late 50's early 60's ambiance, please correct me if I'm in the wrong period ..... it has that European's interior rendition of large round mirrors and chrome-plated tubular bended square tube, great work, like your style.
On the food side, it's good, just a little bit disappointing as they do not have "eat like Greeks" on the Menu, apparently it's a different menu from their eatery at Eastland, Ringwood.
And the Lamb is not as good/juice & soft as Eastland, enjoyed the rest.
Keep up the good work George C & team.
We walked in on a Saturday night to be greeted by very friendly staff, although they were busy. They made sure we were comfortable but didn't fuss to much around us, which was nice. The food and drinks were quick and rather delicious. If you like authentic Greek, give Jimmy's a visit!
I have a lot of respect for George and his vision of introducing a different take on Greek food but I think that somewhere along the line the quality of his food has started to crumble. It's such a shame, I was quite disappointed with this place. The souv's were not juicy, the pita bread was dry and the service was lacking. Sadly, very average if not below.
Great store fit out - quite spacious. Super friendly service. When I went up to order the young lady apologised for the wait and explained they were 2 staff down and apologising in advance if the wait for foodĀ is a bit longer than normal. Souvs didn't fail to please. Although they are small, they are deceivingly filling. Not a fan of the organic drinks though. Will be back for the loukomades...they looked delicious!
Yummy souvas, fast service and amazeballs chips. Seriously, the feta and herbs make them something special. The best hangover food I know! I really like the relaxed vibe as well.
visited for the first night tonight - great atmosphere, great food + reasonably priced! those souva's are super-special! will definitely be back! :-)
Jimmy Grants is an excellent kebab place. It's is definitely better than your regular sloppy lamb/chicken kebab. Worth the travel to try one of their kebabs.
One of the newest on the strip complete with celebrity chef owner hype. Still, a great short menu of quick greek street food assortments, sides and even desserts. I had the lamb kebab, beetroot salad and the doughnuts. All was fantastic, alas, I don't rate the doughnuts - the were very dry and not soft and fluffy at all. Would happily return - a good little spot.
Super kitschy styled up venue but totally works for the Jimmy Grants brand. Finally finally got to try the souvlaki here and the Mr Papadopoulous (lamb) was easily one of the taste-tastic souvlakis EVER. The outer pita bread was surprisingly doughy, warm and soft. So delicious. The chicken version was not so yummalicious - but maybe it's because chicken souvlaki's aren't meant to be. The hummus dip is also yumtastic, not too garlicky, just right.
Having already tried the Fitzroy outlet, I wasn't surprised to see a grander Jimmy's open in Richmond. Let's face it, George C knows how to forge a cool concept. Kebabs, big long bar, flash fit out. It's hard not like it! I ordered the bonegilla and a patris. Loved the bonegilla, great meats and aioli. The prawn patris was a bit of a miss for me. Way too much mint. If I lived local I'd no doubt be back again and again. At the end of the day it's just a kebab. Pimped up!
Unusually, Jimmy Grants has barely been open a few weeks and I am already past my third sitting. Such is the pull of a genuine souva that every time a hat drops I seem to be back. Thatās not to say that it is some impeccable gastro temple. In the end it is a comfortable place to eat what would ordinarily be categorised as takeaway style fast food, or worse, ālate night snacksā! However, like many simple things in life, the ability to focus and provide the punters with exactly what they want is going to be attractive.
Loved the chicken souva; and although I had to eat it without aioli and onions it was still packed with flavour - which I wasn't expecting. Can't wait to come back and try more.
Best gyros I've had since I was in mykonos. The flavours were excellent, I had a lamb and a chicken. Was a little on the dry side, could benefit from a bit of leafy greens and a bit more sauce. Very cool fitout, has a bar in there as well.
Really really good souva, I had the chicken and lamb mixed and it was delicious. Agree with a few others though that for the price they could be a bit bigger
Great souvlaki, tried both chicken and prawn. The chicken one was very juicy and tender, goes well with the aioli. The prawn one also goes well with the sauce and there are lots of prawn inside. The only downside is that it's quite small, even after eating souvlaki, chips and salad, I was not quite full yet. And there is no vege in the souvlaki. The chips are awesome, had feta and oregano sprinkled on. Beetroot salad was very refreshing, it was tossed with almonds and olive oil and is a good complement to the souvlaki which does not have any vege.
A plus is that we went on Friday during lunchtime and got a table straight away!
I love Jimmy Grants Richmond! The food, staff and atmosphere is fantastic! I highly recommend that you visit and while you're there try the Mr Whippopoulos it's delicious
My very first time to eat chips with feta, so great! Souvas with yum chicken and chips. Love it all !!
Very enjoy this place.
I will be back soooooooon!
Jimmy Grants, George Calombarisās modern interpretation of an Athenian souvlaki bar opened it's Richmond installation over the weekend. We particularly loved the new Duck Souvlaki on offer. Crispy duck, apple, tzatziki, chips and parsley are encased within Jimmy Grant's fluffy signature pita. Yum!
After what seems like a lifetime of waiting, famed souvlaki outlet Jimmy Grants has finally opened itās doors in Richmond. This is the fourth in the wildly successful chain and joins stores in Fitzroy, Emporium, and Ormond, continuing the work of the seemingly unstoppable wunderkind Chef George Calombaris. But for those of you unfamiliar with this Melbourne institution, hereās what you need to know.
