Review Chicken N Beer - Richmond

Tatiana J
Service was good and quick. Good beer selection. Ratio price for value was not great on the giblets and wings (small portions, average taste and pricey) but good for the chips (fair portion, well cooked and seasoned). Sauces were good too.

Pint for 8 bucks in happy hour, tasted great. Ordered some popcorn chicken to share between 2 and was a generous serving. Best popcorn chicken I've ever had! Great seasoning and juicy chicken.

After reading some bad reviews we decided to go and try it out anyway and we definitely should’ve listened to the reviews. Walked in on a Friday night at 7:30 and the place was empty. We ordered our food and drinks and was a very short wait before our starter came out (popcorn chicken) was borderline undercooked and the batter slipped off all over the place, went to grab a napkin and no table was set and no cutlery anywhere. 15 mins later are mains came out and were then further unimpressed. Chips had barley touched the oil and very undercooked, burger buns were stale and chicken looked like it was barley cooked. Once we finished our mains are 2 cocktails turned up. Not happy at all, let the server know and he didn’t have much to say and offered no discount or compensation. Will never go back and never recommend.

This place is great for a quick beer or for a meal out. We had a few of the smaller dishes as an evening meal and were very impressed. Food was well cooked and super tasty. Portion sizes were good and the cost reasonable. Highly recommend the popcorn chicken, I could have easily just had a bowl of that to myself!

Clean tasting fried chicken in a chilled setting with board games. Helpful service with good suggestions, didn't make us over order. Glad to come back to sample rest of menu.

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. Good options on the menu and I was surprised to see some salads and beef options on their too. The burger was good, but think I'll come back to try some classic fried chicken which is obviously what they're all about. The staff know their stuff, including the beers on offer. Check the specials board.
It's me, Mauve
Always delicious and aboslutely love the specials throughout the week that keep giving me an incentive to go back!! Staff are super friendly and wonderful 😊 Great for groups or just between 2! Tip: look up their specials and go in on the night of a special that suits you and your group best (consider the price and type of chicken!)

Yassssssss such good quality and such a nice vibe!!!! I would go there and eat all the chicken wings, especially at only $1 in their happy hour yummmm. Highly recommend.

Their BBQ sauce is AMAZING. Sometimes it just pops in my mind and I wish I lived close enough to just get it right then and there. I’m afraid to say this but it’s better than my mums bbq sauce buffalo wings and that’s her specialty. <br/><br/>Staffs are very friendly too, he would always make sure we were having a good time and doesn’t need anything! <br/><br/>I see this place as kind of an afterwork chill place with some mates, beer and buffalo wings🤤

My husband and I walked in on a Friday night at around 9pm looking for some fried chicken and we weren’t disappointed. Inside it was fairly quiet but still open which is harder to find after 9pm outside the city these days. <br/>It’s a relatively small place but has a great vibe and decor plus a the beer garden that looks like the ideal place to hang out in the warmer weather. <br/>The food was fresh and delicious. Fried chicken was not oily and just the right balance of spices and moisture. The chips and creamed corn casserole were tasty and nice and hot. It wasn’t the cheapest place to visit but worth the $$ we paid. <br/>The staff were friendly, attentive and checked in on us. <br/>Grab a beer, some chicken and play one of the many board games on offer. <br/>Overall the place is worth the visit!<br/>Disney fans - look for the hidden Mickey. :)

Hey food lovers,<br/>I ordered chicken ribs and char-grilled boneless chicken in CNB sauce . It was so delicious.<br/>The sauce is not very spicy but has a spice to it .<br/>the chicken was so soft and tender <br/>The service was also really good.<br/>They were very polite .<br/>The place is clean as well<br/>Highly recommend this place

$1 wings and ribs was an awesome surprise smashed a dozen each. Chicken n waffles as well, delightful. Seriously enjoyed this place. Even the roast vegetables was something to behold. Had the popcorn chicken and a burger on the table too all really good. Had to drive so no beers but they had a decent selection that would cap off an ace feed.

Got the boneless 240g breast fillet with chips. The chicken was just okay. Giving them a 3 Star for their lovely service and delicious chips. Would consider coming back but for something else.

This is one of my favourite places for chicken, try the tasting plate if there is a couple of you especially the popcorn chicken. The serves are generous and it is some tasty fried chicken!

Bridge Rd, Richmond was iconic area. Chicken n Beer simple out lay, easy listening Hip Hop (tunes were awesome for those hip hop fans) and the food simple but tasty. <br/>Chicken and Waffles - waffles light and fluffy personally not a fan of blue cheese but my partner loved it. <br/>Chicken ribs simple great crunch to them with Korean Mayo <br/>Buffalo wing simple but if you want them hotter let them know before hand or just add more hot sauce it is adjusted to the crowd. <br/>Beer selection is great if you like your micro brew beers.

This was hands down the BEST DELIVERY I’ve ever had. <br/><br/>Last night we had 240g of boneless chicken. It was salty, crunchy, juicy. The best. <br/><br/>The slaw was a good accompaniment as it was crunchy and fresh and not heavily dressed. <br/><br/>The croquettes are fabulous. So creamy inside. So crunchy outside. <br/><br/>My little one loved his waffle and chicken - good for kids as a little treat but not every day and the maple syrup drizzled all over the chicken was so decadent. <br/><br/>Now for the chips... crunchy. Salty oh they were delicious. <br/><br/>The best delivery I’ve ever had.

Got the combo for 2.<br/><br/>Ribs were dry and bland, boneless deep fried chicken were bland.<br/><br/>Has got to be right up there for most uninspiring meal of 2017.

If you really love your chicken, do yourself a favour and check this place out! It has so many different flavoured chicken and it was all so yummy :) <br/>Shared between two, we found ourselves struggling to finish it all. Although at least we didn’t leave hungry 😂

Great casual place to grab a meal. We had a tasting platter which meant we could choose 5 small dishes for $40 and it was excellent, there was enough food for us to share that between 3 people which made it very reasonably priced. The actual food was great, nicely cooked chicken and sauces, the pork belly was great too, as was the lamb. They also had a stack of board games available for use, which sets up a nice mood within the space. That's the second time I've been here and would probably go back again!

Dropped in for Sunday night dinner. We received a very warm welcome from the barman who was bight, energetic and knowledgeable. We ordered beers, a burger and a selection of tasting plates.<br/>The chicken and waffles were great, the blue cheese sauce knockout. The burger was delicious. The only flat notes were the pulled pork, unfortunately it lacked seasoning and an accompanying sauce, and the corn, that was limp.<br/>All in all a great spot and as my 18 year old son said, it's all about the chicken and beers after all!

Chicken n Beer. Could there be a better combination. Great atmosphere and service. Food was perfect I arrived expected greasy heavy food, however the menu had a great mix of fried and lighter options. The Croquettes and the Thai Green Chicken were great! Left extremely happy, full of Chicken n Beer.

Chilled beer, cool staffs, and fricking amazing chicken. You can't ask for more. So apparently zomato needs me to put more than 140 words. There you go.
A Chronicle Of Gastronomy
As one might expect, Chicken N Beer specialises in chicken. Fried chicken to be exact. On the non-chicken front you’ll find snacks like grilled corn cobs with spices and parmesan, and croquettes filled with a smooth mixture of potato, cheese, roast capsicum and sautéed leek. Mains include steak and duck, and there are salads to balance all the fried goodness.

With the increasing number of restaurants in the fried chicken scene all with their own unique recipes, we are no longer limited to KFC on a high schooler’s allowance! Chicken N Beer is as the name suggests exactly that, offering some particular lamb, duck and beef options too. . They also provide board games to chill and eat chicks with though we never got around to that. Johnny the owner boasts immense experience when it comes to the poultry industry, having a strong knowledge obtained as a butcher. What we were treated with was no less than the freshest and highest quality free range chicken available.
Nicole Tang
A venue that specialises in both fried chicken and alcoholic drinks is a unique offering along Bridge Road in Richmond. Chicken N Beer is owned by Johnny, who also owns a nearby butcher shop, thus the supply of free-range and free-roam chickens to Chicken N Beer is easy. Having been open for about 2 years now, Johnny plans to update the menu and interior decor at Chicken N Beer soon, making it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates crispy-fried chicken marinaded in flavoursome spices.

Tasty juicy chicken! Even the new spicy corn entree was pretty yummy. Excellent professional customer service! Attentive and super friendly! We had the $20 all you can eat Sunday Special, left the place soo full but oh sooo satisfied! Highly recommended! A must try!!
Penguineats
The dishes tonight at Chicken N Beer definitely did the name justice. Given owner Johnny’s background originates from being a poultry butcher, it was no surprise that the produce used was exceptionally fresh, and of the highest quality.<br/>The use of free roaming and free range chicken, coupled with meticulous and near flawless execution, the fried chicken we sampled tonight was undoubtedly some of the best we’ve ever come across, and will remain so for a very long time to come.<br/>With specials running almost every day of the week promoting different cuts of fried chicken, I simply can’t wait to return for All You Can Eat Sunday’s….

Had the chance to go and check out  Chicken n beer and enjoy dinner  with the foodblogger team 😬. the place is not excessively  big,  but the space is well managed with a big table  for larger group , and the rest of the tables for  4 and 2 pax… and if the weather allow it , check the unassuming beer garden at the back … perfect for summer days.
Nathan
The pinnacle of fried chicken in Melbourne. Try the boneless chicken for incredible fried chicken with heaps of flavour or the CNB Sandy Burger. Travel from outer suburbs just to come here.
My Babes And I
My babes and I went for a drive down Bridge Road looking for somewhere to have an early dinner after one of my doctors appointments at AAMI Park. It was just after 5 when we drove past a restaurant my babes told me about a few weeks earlier called Chicken N Beer. After a day I had, I couldn't think of anything better to have then a few pieces of fried chicken and washing them down with a beer!<br/>We both felt extremely hungry after our long days so I ordered the Chicken Waffles with a bottle of Brewers Pilsner Lager, my babes ordered 240g of Boneless Deep Fried Chicken with Chips and we shared a serve of Chicken Skewers also with a side of Chips.<br/>I got my beer straight away and the rest of our food was served within 30 minutes.<br/>My babes Boneless Deep Fried Chicken came first and it looked absolutely scrumptious. The six pieces of chicken fillets, with a glowing golden coating, were much larger than we both expected and I immediately knew we over ordered yet again! The chicken itself was quite juicy and tender but I was disappointed in the bland coating. The Aoli and sweet chilli sauce on the side added much needed flavour but I would've liked a few more herbs and spices in the actual coating.<br/>The chicken skewers, topped with diced cucumbers, tomatoes and fried shallots, were covered in a peanut sauce that was very flavourful. I found the satay style peanut sauce a perfect accompaniment to the chicken skewers but my babes would've liked having the sauce on the side as there was too much peanut sauce on her skewers for her to enjoy it.<br/>The short, fat chips in the side bowls for both dishes were crunchy on the outside but a bit mushy on the inside. We both would've preferred a smaller serve of thinner fries as they would've been crunchier since we didn't really like the texture of the thicker chips.<br/>Finally, a couple minutes after the skewers, my Chicken Waffles were served. I was surprised to see that nearly every square inch of the large wooden serving board was covered with two relatively massive chicken fillets sitting on top of a few fluffy waffles then covered with a drizzling of maple syrup and a dusting of icing sugar. Amongst the waffles and chicken pieces were pickle halves, pickled onions and a wedge of lemon which was a pleasant surprise as they weren't mentioned in the menu. The chicken tastes the same as my babes chicken, just a lot sweeter from the sugar and maple syrup and the waffles were light and fluffy. The pickles went well with the chicken but for some reason the pickled onions didn't work for me and I left a couple of them. Most of the extra syrup was soaked up by the waffles but there were a few cracks in the board it was served in so, after a while, there was a little puddle of syrup left on the table which nearly spilled onto my pants.<br/>I've had a few chicken and waffles from different places in Melbourne and these ones weren't too bad but they weren't the best either. A worthy effort and I'd recommend trying it if you've never tried chicken and waffles before but keep in mind that there are more flavourful ones around Melbourne.

Good food. Unprofessional staff. Our starter meal was forgotten about and we didn't get it until after the meal, after I asked about it. The staff were always in a group talking together, playing on their mobiles and laptop. The food was good and my boyfriend said it was one of his favourite burgers but the staff seriously need a lesson in customer service.

The premise of this joint is pretty obvious from the name. Walking in, you notice beer towers down a long table, and most, if not all, the items on the menu feature chicken in some way, shape, or form. We started off with the buffalo wings, which were delicious! Great tangy sauce and juicy wings. For our table, we had two orders of the 240g deep-fried chicken, as well as the CNB Sandy burger w/chips for myself. One of the 240g chickens came out first, and then came the burger. Being polite and waiting for our table's orders to be complete, I delayed taking my first bite. Quite a while later, the other 240g chicken came out, with some extra pieces on the board to compensate for the late order. Then, I took the first bite from my burger. It was an okay burger. I will disclaim that I left the burger sitting for about 5 minutes, and that I'm not much of a burger person - my recent experience at Huxtaburger has raised my standards when it comes to burgers, in particular, brioche bun burgers. I found the burger at CNB to be quite disappointing - the bun wasn't as soft or sweet as I expected, and the burger started falling apart the moment I picked it up. The chips, however, were delicious, and the aioli was some of the best I've ever had.<br/><br/>I probably wouldn't go to this place again, just because it isn't really of my style of dining, however when we went, there seemed to be many groups of people enjoying themselves late on a Wednesday. The restaurant closed while we were still finishing off our meal, and the staff there were very patient, never making us feel hurried. I'd recommend this place if it sounds like your type of place. If I went again, I'd get something else!

Chicken and waffles were pretty good but chicken was very oil, waffle was good although very dense it was well worth it. The beer selection was wide with large varieties to choose from. Good once off experience.

Winner, winner chicken dinner!<br/>This place seriously has it all. Chilled vibes, good booze, delicious chicken and awesome staff.<br/>We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in and were looked after very well. Had a really good time and the food was so fresh and tasty!<br/>Will definitely be coming back again for sure!

All you can eat chicken wings on a Tuesday night! Crispy and Grilled Buffalo Wings. It tastes fresh and delicious.<br/><br/>For small eaters, you're better off ordering a serve of chicken wings because even as a big eater, I struggled to finish 10 wings on the platter.

Great staff. Deep fried chicken. Cider on tap. $1 ribs on Fridays. Cold night in June & had the place to ourselves for Friday night drinks. Cheat meal.

A chill and relaxed place to eat. Friendly service, food comes out relatively quickly and around the same time. <br/><br/>Juicy tender chicken with some spice. Portioning wise, the small popcorn chicken is great for sharing: crispy batter, flavoursome, tender and juicy. <br/><br/>Half chicken has a crispy batter but besides the drumstick, the chicken was slightly dry. With the option for sides of salad or chips, the chips were beer battered, crispy and soft inside and lightly salted. <br/><br/>Skinny potatoes are well made as well as the sauce and vegies compliment to add flavour. <br/><br/>Overall, a pleasant experience.

OMG! The tall, dark and handsome stranger works here! What an amazing coincidence to discover him from our chance stalking/meeting at a little Thai place on Glenferrie Road.<br/><br/>I ordered a beer tower and their thick cut chips for an afternoon snack with friends. They have a fantastic and cosy courtyard. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. They cater well for large groups. Plus, I must say that the friendly service and eye candy is well worth a visit. 😘

Went here with friends recently, absolutely top notch fried chicken! Had a fair bit of the menu but the boneless fried chicken is the hero here as it should be. Also tucked into a 3L tower of ice cold beer whilst we ate, what more could you ask for! Got looked after by a ripping lad Alex and will most certainly be back on a cold winters evening.

It's pretty simple. Do you like chicken, and beer? Are you on Bridge Rd? Then try this place. Yummy food, great outdoor area, and they offer a tasting plate which is more than enough for 2 hungry carnivores... Staff there are also great and are happy to walk you through the menu. It's a simple menu done well... Just make sure it's a "cheat" day... Yummy...

I'm going to preface this review by saying I never take my final feed before flight time out of Melbourne lightly. As a massive fan of the Melbourne food scene, I always like to please my inner glutton with a solid feed. And so I did. <br/><br/>A casual few bites with an incredibly hipster beer (literally served in a paper bag) to go with. We got the tasting platter which had ribs, delights, buffalo wings and (not so) skinny potatoes to go around, with popcorn chicken, fat chips and dipping sauces served on the side. The vibe was chilled, and the spot fits into bridge road perfectly. The staff were so very amiable too, which tied up the entire experience nicely.<br/><br/>The title really sums this place up - chicken and beer. I'm a big believer in picking one thing and doing it to perfection. This eatery has unearthed its forte, flawlessly.

Where should I start...? Honestly one of the best fried chicken I have ever eaten, good bye KFC and say hello to this instead. The chicken is freshly prepared as all chicken should be. I ordered the 6 pieces of fried chicken and boy, it filled me up like water being filled in a water bottle and does it "fill" good? Hell yeah it does I come here casually but the taste is always the same, "perfect" would recommend it to anyone who wants a new taste to chicken and to those who are looking for a night out with their family or friends! Good quality service too!

In a town where "Chicken & Beer" usually refers to the Korean type, I stumbled upon this gem of a place by accident, thinking it was for Korean fried chicken.<br/><br/>Looking further at the menu, the chicken and waffles reveal it to be most likely the southern fried variety. Still very good if not oily, like the other major player with the abbreviation starting with 'K.'<br/><br/>Going in with a good buddy of mine, we decided to try the fried chicken platter. We were hungry men, and it seems to have a bit of everything we were looking at (popcorn, chicken, ribs, boneless chicken,) and the price wasn't too bad.<br/><br/>It came out quickly and sweet mother of God it's definitely a meal for more than 2. And oh that glorious batter. BATTER UP!<br/><br/>Other than the chicken being cooked perfectly with an awesome crunchy batter, what we found was that it wasn't drenched in oil when you broke through the batter. I never thought that was possible from all the different fried chickens I've tried. As an added feature, I found the batter nice an crumbly which makes it perfect for chicken and waffles, as I like to each my waffles last, drenching the waffles with the rest of the chicken crumbs and skin with maple syrup. <br/>Definitely have to come back for chicken and waffles here. <br/><br/>On a side note, I doggy-bagged the leftovers and put it in the oven at 220 for 10 mins, and it came back out perfect, and unlike other friend chickens, did not leave a huge amount of oily residue, nor did it tasted like oil.<br/><br/>To add to the awesome chicken, the staff were also friendly and helpful without being overbearing. <br/><br/>Highly recommended, so much so I've already planned another nite here, this time WITH the beer.
LittleMissPiggy
Wet here for a quick feed and wasn't disappointed! We got the popcorn chicken and the fried chicken ribs which we're both delicious, only thing is they need more condiments!! Other then that I really couldn't fault it, the staff were super helpful and the vibe has a lot of potential, for a Saturday night I expected it be a little busier but it's only new... Would definitely go back!!
Alex
Well well, here we are, Chicken N Beer. It sounded such a simple idea when I first heard about the place - but simple food here is an understatement! We tucked into one of the wondrous tasting platters (they're like 30 bucks) which sorted myself and a mate sufficiently with a variety of chicken niblets, ribs and the best sticky bbq chicken I've had in some time.<br/><br/>Now while this adventure into fried chicken wonderland was adventurous and amazing, it was however, further benefited by the refreshing beers on offer. Managed to secure a couple of Dos Blockos to compliment the food & appease the beer gods.<br/><br/>Sounds super simple, but its simple done brilliantly, cheers guys for a stellar night!
Jelena Louise May
Came here after being enticed by the menu and photos and got a group of friends together for a chill Saturday night. I was very impressed with the quality of food considering it's something so basic. The flavouring and spices on the chicken is the winner and I loved my casual Saturday night dining here.
Hello. Imnikki
Hearing the words "Chicken and Beer", I knew I was going to enjoy myself a bit too much from the all the deep fried awesomeness and probably will need to be wheeled out from the establishment at the end of the meal. I was not wrong. The Deep Fried Tasting Platter and Buffalo Wings we ordered to share between the three of us was enough to feed five. Never let a greedy girl be in charge of ordering the food. Suffice to say we had a fair bit leftover but if I could, I would lick the plate clean. The sauce for the Buffalo Wings was beautiful, a bit vinegary, a bit spicy, a bit sweet and a whole lot of finger licking goodness. The fried chicken was great, not the best but the fact that it wasn't oily was a plus in my book. My partner absolutely loved the popcorn chicken and the consensus was that the fried spare rib was the best amongst all. The fried boneless chicken was a bit dry but in its defence, I haven't encountered a place that has perfected a fried boneless chicken (do let me know where if anyone knows) as chicken breast meat tends to be a bit dryer and harder to achieve a juicy and succulent finish. Chips, what can I say. Given the role of a sidekick on the platter and definitely stayed in character. A good selection of beers on offer, an absolute treat to wash down all the fried chicken with a cold beer. What makes me rate this place much higher than I intended to is the service. One of the best service I have encountered; staffs were friendly and they even took time to run us through the menu and the selection on the platter when it arrived, which in my opinion was something that was not required from them as everything was self-explanatory. The fact that they went out of their way to ensure that we were satisfied with everything during our meal enhanced our dining experience so much more.

Had some popcorn chicken and a burger w chips today, and the food was delicious. <br/><br/>My friend had some boneless chicken which was really tasty. <br/><br/>Good food, reasonably priced and good place to visit if your in Richmond along Bridge Road. <br/><br/>My friend and I are a lot of food today, w a beer for me and the bill was $66. Good value and we have a doggy bag haha

Chicken N Beer... probably one of the best combinations right? Yeah well it sure does go down a treat. The pop corn chicken is bloody good, even better with a cold beer. This place is great to kick your night off before you head out. <br/>
Meo0owchi
Came here with a hankering for some Buffalo wings and to my disappointment..NOT AUTHENTIC BUFFALO WINGS!! more like chicken wings with a BBQ sauce..tasted good but just not really "buffalo wings"..kinda misleading...had the half fried chicken which was pretty average. The chips were the highlight! Would I come back? Probably not.
Michael Ly
Ordered the smaller tasting platter between two and I have to say some of the best chicken ribs I've ever had, and the blue cheese dipping sauce was so good we had to get extra. Would recommend if you have a chicken craving. The place looks small but there is a large outdoor place out the back.
David Liao
Perfect for Friday afternoon beer o'clock. Get a platter of friend chicken and chips. Slam it down with a frozen cold Chinese beer.
Matthew Brown
Chicken n Beer/cider what more could a person want on Friday for a pit stop between pubs. Everything I ate was delicious and the staff were great.
I'm Batman
All things considered, it's pretty good for a fried chicken joint. I mean I had brown fried rice, salad, and half a chicken. Then we ordered chicken waffles too. <br/><br/>The fried chicken wasn't THE best, but in terms of price, menu, and sides in relation I think this bumps CnB's rating to 4. Certainly not the best fried chicken but it is quite good restaurant. <br/><br/>Ps. I'll warrant an extra 0.5 for the soul music.
Hungry For More
Very cute spot with a little courtyard out the back. We had boness chicken and it was delish but the cider was too warm and the chips were very average, like they were undercooked.
Kein
Pretty inconspicuous from the outside, you get distracted by the locksmith sign beside the shop. But definitely worth a try - food and service are excellent.<br/><br/>Had the tasting platter, at $30 it's a good deal at three people to a platter. Like what the LEGO movie sounded like, everything is awesome. Chips (love the texture), wings, ribs (need to try this), popcorn chicken, all of it was great.<br/><br/>I was disappointed they didn't have chicken waffles, but will definitely be back for more.
Lotte Van Boheemen
Amazing food for a very decent prize!. Nice atmosphere and great tasting food, wide range of options with my all-time-favorite chicken skewers. Female chef is really hot too.
Nyssi
They do chicken well! Had the crispy chicken burger and it was excellent! Loaded with crispy chicken and yummy sauce, beautiful fresh bread. Yum!!

Decent beer and good chicken, great place for an easy bite in Richmond and the beer garden is great for groups. The popcorn chicken is fantastic, definitely recommended.

Great atmosphere, staff were super friendly. Shared the tasting platter, great value at $30 the two of us couldn't finish it. Next time will come sans car so we can enjoy a few beers as well

One word: scrumptious! If u love chicken you will really appreciate this place! Fantastic ambience and friendly service. Chicken n Beer is a winner on a friday night!
Alex
Chicken delights, were delicious. Otherwise, everything else was a little bit too deep fried- a Gourmet KFC? Service was very friendly, and intuitive.

Went on a tuesday night & enjoyed the all you can eat wings & small beer for $20 absolutly stuffed myself with these excellent juicy morsles of meat then ordered more. gave the record a push but fell a few short. Will be back for sure. Such a great little place. Rate it highly.

Amazing! All you can eat wings Tuesday for 20 bucks rocks my socks. Will be back again next week with a larger crew. One recommendation would be a larger selection of beers...
Gastrology
At Chicken N Beer, eating chicken is a serious ritual. The chicken focused menu is impressive - ranging from battered and fried to glazed and baked. You can even indulge in a marinated whole chicken baked with a beer can stuffed inside it. Seriously, there is something here for every chicken lover. In fact the menu goes above and beyond what you would expect given the name of this eatery, with healthy options like a playful quinoa salad for those not so chicken-inclined. However, you really can't go past the impressive sharing platters which offer serious bang for your buck.

Yum!. Very tasty food and great service and atmosphere!

Awesome concept, mad TASTY!!. Went there last night and loved it everything about it.<br/>Awesome customer service<br/>Beers on tap including TOWERS!<br/>Store is set out really nicely including a sweet little outdoor area in the back!!<br/>and the food OMG! had the TASTING platter for $30, it was so worth it!. it was too much for 2 ppl, but was so tasty.<br/><br/>Definitley will be going back and defs will recommend it to other ppl who either wanna chill for a beer or get a small chicken snack to a large chicken feat!.<br/><br/>If they Added some fried bacon to any meal. It'd be heaven ahha.!!<br/>GO THERE!!
Maggie
Best chicken & chips ever. Went here last night with a few people after a friend told me they have "the best chips ever" .Both my BF and I got the 'boneless fried chicken' and it is without a doubt the best chicken we have ever eaten - and we are self proclaimed chicken connoisseurs! The batter was super crunchy and tasty and the chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. And THE CHIPS..... Amazing. seriously. Quite possibly the best I have ever eaten. Crunchy and fluffy and yum! <br/>Friends had the lamb skewers which were also cooked really well, the meat was soft and melt in your mouth. <br/>I would really recommend this place for good comfort food. The staff were really great too, very friendly and as my friend said when we left " they are really good at their job!"
J
Yum n yum!!! This place is a welcome addition to Bridge Rd. The staff here are so lovely and helpful and don't try to make you buy too many drinks or overeat. The chicken and lamb skewers were tastetastic and so were the ribs. The salad is also surprisingly yummy. Great value - around $6 for 5 pieces and there's a Sunday special too. Will definitely be a regular!
Jgriffinapril77
Chernobyl chicken. Really disappointed with the quality of the fried chicken. The skin had separated from the chicken in the batter to form a fried batter shell around the chicken which wasn't pleasant. Good fried chicken has a crunchy skin still attached to the chicken which accompanies the taste of the chicken. There was also an over powering amount of oregano in the batter. Very poor job. <br/>Service was good - also need a much greater selection of beer.
Carissa.hanafi
Sexy finger licking chicken (with a twist). We tried nearly everything on the menu and everything was absolutely 'finger licking' good. Service and food was fantastic! Staff were really attentive, friendly and helpful. We ordered the beer can chicken (1 hour wait) was worth every second. I would call this an 'Asian fusion KFC' (the sauces were scrumptious) and I loved how they also have healthy options.. I went on a Tuesday night, was very busy but food and service.. I could not fault a thing. Definitely my favorite chicken joint!

The New Local. I've been here about 6 or 7 times and absolutely love it. I've eaten the beer chicken, spicy deep-fried chicken, quinoa salad, tiff salad, sharing platter and the deep-fried chicken burger and was very impressed with all. Was happy with the cost in regards to the portion size. Staff are very friendly and the owner seems to be a top bloke. Love the vibe and the music is fun. The garden out the back is charming and is perfect to relax in the sun with an authentic Italian coffee (I only say that because it was made by Roberto, the Italian fella) or juice. <br/><br/>Below is a pic of the deep-fried half chicken and tiff salad.

Yum. Went to chicken n beer with my partner and bub. We were met with friendly staff who greeted us with a smile.<br/>My partner and I shared a tasting plate, chips and some of their signature chicken cooked on a beer can plus a couple of drinks. The bill came to roughly $50 and was definitely too much food for us. We found the prices very reasonable.<br/>The food was great; the chips were delicious and the signature chicken and tasting plate were really tasty, definitely not your average chicken!<br/>The beer garden was great for our son to have a run around while we had some lunch and the staff were great with him too!<br/>I'd reccomend this place to friends for a meal or even an afternoon beer! Definitely coming back.

Awesome!!. Awesome food. Service is so friendly and the vibe is so chill like home. For a start up business doing well. Hopefully time will help it show its true colours and talents. People have to check this joint out.

I have to agree with other reviewers, I really wanted this place to be good as I do with any new local addition to Bridge Roaf, but unfortunately it doesn't cut it for me. $30 for a cut up poorly sized small chicken which had nothing really amazing about it and a very poor serve - I suggest perhaps to get bigger sized chickens then look at charging $30 or at least include chips AND salad in the cost, not just one. The chips were amazing though, enjoyed those and the salad with the quinoa was a good addition. <br/>I appreciate all new openings have teething issues and in time will be ironed out. Probably wouldn't return anytime soon.

Was really disappointed, so badly wanted it to be good but it just wasn't. Service was all over the shop but that can be forgiven seeing it had just opened. But the beer can chicken was really average, $30 for a very small whole chicken cut into pieces that tasted really bad! The sides that were just ok (the chips were outstanding) but when you just do chicken it needs to be amazing! I hope this place improves as its a good concept!

Let's get one thing straight. I don't dislike this place I just don't like it. Doesn't make sense I know. I really wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. Tried a bit of everything on the menu as was with a group and wasn't wowed by anything. $30 for a very small whole chicken is really pushing the friendship as well especially when it's just average. Little chicken delights and riblets were a good snack but again a bit overpriced. Will go back again but maybe just for a couple beers and chicken ribs.
