So a group of us went for the bottomless brunch and it was epic value.
For $59 it was all you can drink and eat for 3 hours. By the end of it I had no room for another morsel even though we skipped some of the food courses. I highly recommend the fish tacos. I could have eaten 20 of those. The quesadillas I could have gone without but all round it was quite good.
Service was attentive and they definitely made sure we had enough to eat and drink.
This place screams Mexico - with an awesome vibe, decor, great drinks and food.
Fish taco is off the charts, nachos and guac are also a classic!
Casual Mexican restaurant/bar with a chilled vibe and great taco menu. Between two we shared the croquettes, the fried chicken, the ceviche and some tacos. I had the fish and the pork belly tacos. I really enjoyed the croquettes and the pork belly taco. The fried chicken was super crispy and a huge portion. I was a bit disappointed in the ceviche though - it was very fishy tasting and didn’t seem very fresh. Overall an enjoyable Sunday night dinner. Keen to try the jalapeño poppers when they haven’t run out.
Had a girls lunch here on a Sunday & it was fab! Kicked off early & had an indoor booth to ourselves which was perfect 👌🏼 All the food (we sampled corn chips, a variety of tacos, quesadillas & fried chicken) was delicious but the fried chicken was a stand out & I’ll definitely be back for more! The house white at $5 (Sunday is Happy Day rather than just having Happy Hour 🥂) was very drinkable & the Espresso Martini 🍸 ☕️ was a real pleaser. In addition to the fab food & drinks the staff & atmosphere couldn’t have been better...altho I suspect this may vary with the time of day as it wasn’t super busy! Definitely worth a try 👍🏼
Such delicious food and there is a very relaxed vibe about the space. Have to get the corn and pulled pork quesadilla every time... when you’re onto a good thing!
The funky decor and fun atmosphere makes SOTW a must visit when in Richmond! We stopped in early but be careful, it fills up fast and they only take bookings for bigger tables.
There are more drink choices than you can imagine, especially tequila (obviously) but loads of beers and cocktails too!
We have the corn, AMAZING! The fried chicken, needed a bit more sauce but still delish! And the jalapeño poppers, They. Are. Hot.
The friendly, diligent and knowledgeable staff top off what is a great bite out!

Offering a fresh, fun and a little bit cheeky vibe, newly opened Mexican cantina South of the Wall in Richmond forgets about constraining itself when it comes to the happy hour - offering ridiculous cheap Margaritas what feels like all day long. With the type of service you'd expect to receive from a good friend, and a menu that's filled with all of your Mexican favourites, its not hard to quickly discover that you've made the right choice walking through South of the Wall's doors. And don't worry if you haven't caught on to the South of the Wall reference by the time of arrival, it will soon become clear on spotting the giant Donald Trump mural on the wall.
Visited recently with a group of friends. We were able to make a reservation which was great. We each tried a margarita. Flavors were nice but the glass was not filled when they arrived and felt like half the drink was missing.
Food was ok. We shared the jalapeño poppers. These were tasty with a real spicy kick. Chips and guacamole was good but it needed a larger serve of guacamole. We had finished the dip and were still left with half a bowl of chips. The corn was tasty as was the fried chicken. We each then ordered some tacos. Flavor was ok but not fantastic.
Our fave dish of the night was the nacho loaded fries with added pulled pork. Generous serve and very tasty.

We headed in for dessert last night having dined up the street and I think I had mentioned something like I crave one of their chicken tacos and prawn quesadillas! I’d actually attempted to come here Easter Monday but sadly (along with half of Melbourne it seems), it was closed. Having eaten I didn’t order those (but you should) instead we got nachos which were a little lacklustre but quite generously portioned. The toppings were all on the side which made it a bit messier to eat and the lack of a tomato based salsa was a real miss for me. What I’ve always loved about this place is its banging interiors, friendly staff and cheeky atmosphere. Definitely a modern, on trend venue (even the toilets are super cool) but not the best choice if you are planning on intimate conversation as it’s quite loud (some night they also have fun live music too).
Cocktail wise I had a frose given my penchant for frozen beverages in Mexican establishments. Hubby had arrived quite late to dinner and only had an entree so he got a chicken quesadilla which was quite spicy (as outlined on the menu) so not for the faint hearted.
Overall the highlight here and our entire reason for visiting were the dessert doughnuts. They have an intensely delicious cinnamon flavour and a great fluffy texture. I’ll eat those any day of the week
🔥 the tacos and cocktails are delicious. the vibe is incredible (especially with live music and a DJ over the weekend) and it's located in an awesome part of melbourne! would highly recommend the fish and steak taco and the sour black cherry margarita
A group booking at South of the Wall, I really enjoyed what they had to offer. The service was excellent, fast paced and they dealt with our many orders very well. When the food came, it was very good, especially the tacos! Highly recommend the mushroom taco, flavoursome and satisfying. it's also very convenient for groups, as you order at the bar as you go. Overall, a great group venue.
Amazing! Fish tacos and the Pinacoladarita cocktail were my favourites. The place is filled with friendly staff, delicious food, to-die-for cocktails and good vibes! Will definitely be back

Have been there a number of times and the food never disappoints. Great selection of beers and have sampled a few of the cocktails as well. Can highly recommend for a date night or a night with mates
A cool restaurant/bar in the increasingly busy Cremorne area. Even though it was busy, the staff were accommodating and helpful. The food was great and came quickly after being ordered.
Came here on Saturday night and was definitely more impressed than I thought I would be! Had planned to just have food and a couple of drinks before heading out to Public House down the road until we got stuck and caught up with the insane atmosphere this bar provided! We didnt want to leave until we had to when they closed at 1am. Cocktail list (from a bartender) is astounding, couldnt fault it, and the food was delicious! Recommend the fried chicken, was unreal!
Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a modern take on Mexican food. Spoke to the manager and he informed us that they were not claiming to be authentic just wanting to provide a fun experience with modern Mexican, and that they did!
Will be making the trip up here on a regular basis now!
Had the pleasure of visiting South Of The Wall last night for a girls catch up. South Of The Wall makes a great first impression with its vibrant decor and live music. We were all impressed with the extensive cocktail list with the Classic Martini being a crowd favourite, and the Expresso Martini a must try also. We order a few smaller things to share the fried chicken and Corn were definitely a winner. I had the fish taco which was filled to the brim with delicious fresh ingredients.
I found the service to be excellent, with drinks and food being brought out promptly after being ordered, the bar and wait staff had a fun and friendly vibe.

I’ve been here quite a few times with friends and we’ve always had a great experience. The tacos are very fresh and the cocktails are delicious too. I always like to share the food amongst my group, and it’s great because the food comes out soon after placing the order! The staff are very welcoming and helpful whenever we require assistance. It’s an up beat environment and a great place to come with a small or large group. My favorite taco is the pulled pork and chicken. YUM!!!
Best vibe in Richmond, amazing food and friendly helpful staff. Big winner is the fried chicken and tacos!! The acoustic music last Sunday and $12 margaritas were awesome! Defiantly the place to be if your in that part of town!

Easily the best fish tacos I've had in Melbourne! They were fresh and full of flavor. The corn was also delicious and a great side dish to share. However, the pork croquettes were like reheated packet potato.. stick to the tacos!
Came here last night and place was buzzing from about 6.30pm. Really cool venue, nice outdoor seating and generally good vibe. It seems like the staff are still getting their head around the venue/menu etc but I’m sure they’ll get there with time.
I thought the food quality was pretty average, as others have mentioned the nachos are underwhelming and the corn came out off the cob in a bowl which wasn’t that conducive to sharing (at least if you’re on high tables out back). That being said people seemed to be enjoying the drinks - so if you’re looking for after work/weekend drinks with good ambience and not too fussed on food quality then this is the place for you!
No hokey sombreros in sight, just a good, tight selection of food and drink along with no fuss service. Point and shoot at the menu, you can't go too wrong. Fish and crab tacos for something a little fresher, pork and steak for those who want a little more substantial but not lacking in the flavour department. Their kingfish ceviche experiments with some strong (amazing) flavours and the Empapado (Mexico's version of popcorn chicken) will get you crisply through a nice afternoon sesh.
Awesome tacos, quesadillas and Mexican snacks might be on the menu, but the real drawcard of this place? The great vibe and festive outbackpatio. Couple that with a tequila and cocktail list that holds nothing back, and South of the Wall should shoot straight to the top of your summer hangout list.

We did an afternoon bottomless brunch and let me tell you, we have done a few😅 in our time. The food was both tasty, filling and appropriate. The drinks were delicious and frequent, the bartender Kate made sure we were ALWAYS looked after ❤️❤️. The vibes at south of the wall were so fabulous and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a similar event. Thanks so much guys!!!
Enjoyed the bottomless Mexican on Saturday night and although the service lacked at the beginning, it most definitely picked up as the night went on. Daniel made a kind effort to chat with us and the other staff were pleasant. Food was good and the jugs of margarita and mojito were nice. Atmosphere was fun and full of life, I do recommend a visit.
I had a great experience in south of the wall, the tacos were loaded and delicious. Pork belly, steak, and Jarritos were my favourite, the quedasadillas are also amazing and the cocktails were classy and unique!!
The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Just walked in and was pleasantly surprised with the size of the establishment. Ordering was a treat with really personalised service. Just loved the selection of authentic Mexican drinks on offer. Food was on the table in next to notice considering the number people in the restaurant. Well worth a visit and a return visit.
