We came here a few months ago and had a great meal. The place was fairly empty so we got very prompt and personalised service and our waitress was very polite and sweet. We ordered a number of dishes and everything was great - particularly the Korean fried cauliflower which was so delicious that we ordered a second helping of it at the end of the meal! Hope to be back once everything opens up after the covid19 pandemic settles but hopefully we’ll get some takeaway from here in the meantime!

This establishment does not only serve brunch menu during the day but also serves Japanese fusion dishes at night. The dim modern interior exudes a semi-fine dine vibe. We ordered three dishes and all of them have the right flavour profile. However they are lacking depth as most of them are leaning towards being sweet. The ribs are very soft to the point that the bones can be easily broken
Like the simplicity of the set up just a bit hard to choose from the menu so many good options. Will recommend Nanban stir fry if looking for the veg and protein both and excellent flavour

Mr Joe All Day is the new child of Martin and Yang Sun, opened earlier this year. With a simple monotone interior, bench seating and shoulder to shoulder bar stools, the atmosphere is not quite a relaxed Izakaya, but more funky Melbourne café. The design is geared towards evenings, and there is bench seating out the front for those wanting sunlight.
Friendly staff and large menu to select from. Tried out the brunch here today and was pretty happy. I went for an almond milk matcha latte and the potato rosti which came with seared tuna and avocado and edamame bean smash. Very light and tasty. Possibly could have done with an egg though. Venue itself lacks a bit of ambience but that’s not a major issue
Great little cafe that quiet and has a great Japanese fusion menu. I got the pulled beef Benedict which was very tasty and had some great distinct flavours. Coffee was strong but good quality. Defs recommend.
Lovely service, and food was decent portion and delicious! Came on a Sunday night and was quiet in the restaurant, but lovely environment for catching up with friends! Would recommend!!
Exceptionally polite and attentive service. Beautiful dining space and atmosphere. I’ve tried many of them dishes here and they’ve all been fantastic. Coffee is good too. Definitely one of my favourite local eateries.
Had the grilled salmon risotto and happy to say that I love it! The risotto was creamy and the salmon was cooked perfectly. It do think that it is a bit pricy ($22) to justify coming here often but I will be back when I feel like splurging.
Beautiful simple settings, delicious food, Ive been here twice and the food is packed with flavour and scrumptious. Tried the sake and plum wine which was good too! Lovely hostess! Will recommend and definitely visit again!
We had been wanting to try out this place for a long time, finally got a chance to go yesterday. The restaurant is well decorated and clean looked. We were very happy with our food and cafe. We were very surprised by how amazing the food was because the restaurant is pretty quiet. This place is straight to our top three list, no doubt. The staff was very friendly also! Highly highly recommended!

I called in here for t/a coffee and some brunch. The service was so nice here that I decided to have brunch here.
My strong skinny latte was perfect, so flavoursome ana tasty, it had some great milk froth and yay, I was able to drink it without watering it down! Lol
Foodwise I ordered a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich on sourdough toast (no bun options) and whilst I was I was reluctant, this was amazing!! The sourdough was absolutely delicious, and the bacon was great, and the tomato relish was fantastic.
This place is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu is Japanese inspired which is one of my favourite cuisines.
I was so impressed I brought my partner a Chicken Katsu Don, as a take away and I was really impressed with the take away bio degradable packaging.
And this place has a lot of vegan wine, gluten feee options and all dietary requirements were catered for.
The coffee was soo good that I had two, and I am definitely going back for dinner as they have a Japanese feed me menu! Woo hoo lol

Another great find thanks to EatClub. With 30% off our bill, I could have gone crazy with my order but I had a date with my favourite cake fairy godmother so I restrained myself.
Still, this doesn't mean I will not have sweets for lunch. I was advised that the Japanese souffle hotcakes would take around 20 minutes but it arrived way earlier than the estimated time. The hotcakes were flawless texture-wise - light and fluffy. As a whole this dish was really good. The sweet pickled peach, candied nuts and spiced crumble, the tangy citrus mascarpone, the sour strawberries and the earthy and slightly bitter matcha syrup all went well together. However, there weren't enough mascarpone and match syrup to last to the end, and it ended up being overwhelmingly sour due to the strawberries.
The chicken katsu sando on the other hand was a delight to eat from start to finish. The soft white bread, the crispy and tender chicken, and the delicious mix of mayo and tonkatsu sauce. The side salad helped cut through the heaviness of the fried chicken, and added a touch of clean eating to the dish.
My matcha latte was beautifully smooth and creamy, with just a slight bitterness to it. In fact if I hadn't finished it all before the hotcake arrived, I would have used it as the matcha syrup substitute! I had a sip of my partner's skinny latte, it was a lovely brew and he enjoyed it very much.
Mr Joe doesn't have very conspicuous signage, making him hard to spot, but once you have found him, you're in for some charming service and good food.

Very friendly staff. Well decorated cafe nice and comfortable for a restful breakfast. Japanese style including the cafe environment, the food presentation, the lightness in flavour, the texture (softness and lightness) of the pancake and the seaweed smell to the salmon all add to the Japanese theme and lives to the expectation. Looking forward to going back. A few things can improve includes, staff knowledge to the menu; speed of delivering; if possible brave trials in more types of herbs for more flavour surprises, and lastly... the Japanese rice wine is not best to create the cocktails.

We found this place on a 30% off voucher, and boy were we happy we did. Mr Joe All Day is a newer establishment (about 4 months old) serving Japanese inspired brunch food, though they also have a full lunch and dinner menu available from 11am onwards. It was quite when we came here on a Saturday early afternoon, but the modern decor and low lighting made it very cosy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to order from the brunch menu just after 2pm (we didn't realise that was when the menu switched over).
We ordered the tamagoyaki omelette which had thinly sliced pork belly and sauteed mushrooms wrapped in an omelette and topped with an apple salad that had a generous amount of apple. We also had their crabmeat croquettes with seared tuna on top, fried egg, avocado, cherry tomatoes and furikake. The pork belly omelette was very nice - lots of sauce when you cut open the omelette and a rich depth of flavour. The apple was very fresh and crunchy and went very well with the pork. The crabmeat croquettes didn't really have crabmeat in it (it was seafood stick/salad), though I guess we weren't really expecting that. There was quite a lot of the seafood salad though so that made it taste pretty good. The vegetables were also very fresh and my wife finished the cherry tomatoes even though she doesn't usually fancy them.
We also had a decaf ice mocha that was nicely presented, cold and refreshing. Their coffee is supplied by seven seeds. At ~$20 full price for a brunch dish I was quite happy with what we got. If I had to point out a negative, it would be that the portions were a little less than filling. Not so much my pork belly omelette, but the crabmeat croquettes came with 3, and about 4 sashimi-thickness slices of tuna, and a fried egg, so that could have been a little more generous. However, considering the quality of the food, the excellent experience, and the ridiculous prices some others charge for brunch food, we were very happy with our meal.
We've had dinner twice at Mr Joe over the past month, and both times it was great. The waitress is very friendly and helpful, and really knows the menu & specifics about each dish. They are good with gluten-free options. The menu has some interesting dishes with a mix of Japanese and Western flavours. The seaweed salad was really nice and different - a mix of seaweed, cucumber and a sesame sauce - a bit like tahini! The barramundi with veggies is great, as is the noodle dish with pork mince and sesame paste. Portion sizes are generous too. We will definitely go back!
Had NYE dinner with family. Service is great and the food is wonderful! Try the ribs, tender and fall off the bone. Mixing of western and asian ingredients gave the dishes well balanced flavour.
Really friendly and welcoming staff. The food was amazing, the uniqueness and the flavours were absolutely divine! We would definitely come back here, highly recommend it!!

**3.5 stars** We tried this newly opened cafe in Richmond. Parking was a bit hard to find seeing as this cafe is situated near the busy corner of Burnley Street and Swan street, but still part of the residential area. The front of the cafe is not very noticeable for afar either, but there is a small sign above with its name. Surprisingly, it’s very spacious inside and can hold a lot of seats. The interior is simple, modern and clean. Staff are friendly and service is prompt. Coffee (from Seven Seeds) was delicious, not to mention the size of the cup (for a normal cappuccino at $4) was generous.
Food wise, it was okay. We ordered the ‘Tamagoyaki Omelette’; the roast pork with miso dressing was too sweet and was the filling inside the omelette, which in turn was pretty soggy. The apple shiso salad sauteed with wild mushroom did in fact work well together in this dish. The other plate we ordered on the menu was the ‘Chia Acai Pudding’ which was easy to eat but very sour. You really need to mix the bowl well in order to have that less-sour taste. All-in-all, a nice addition to the cafe scene in Richmond. **NOTE: 10% surcharge applies on public holidays. Card payments incur 1.25% fee.
*** Updated 15/11/18: ** 4 stars** The food was better this second time around. The ‘Chia Açai Pudding’ was well balanced and refreshing. The ‘Japanese Soufflé Hotcake’ delivered the right kind of sweetness and the texture of the cake was soft and moist. Great service like before. We’ll be coming back to try some more of the other dishes.
A real find in Burnley Street. The seasonal courses are expertly prepared and extremely delicious. The food is fantastic and prepared beautifully - what you see on Instagram is what you get! The "watermelon jerky" was a very creative and delcious fruity play! The chef has some great skills and we are returning for dinner again soon. Highly recommend giving it a try, particularly if you are local to Burnley.
Super nice place for dating. Price is pretty good for this high-quality food. I love the Charred Calamari very much.
My associates and I booked ourselves in for some bottomless cocktails and what an excellent decision it was. Each cocktail provided the perfect accompaniment to our many agenda items that were discussed. If I am lucky enough to meet Mr. Joe in the future, I will shake his hand because the food, drinks and ambience were lovely. 4 stars.
