For me personally – Tidbit Cakes is my all-time favourite cafe in Melbourne. Anytime you walk in, you are always greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. They are very friendly and helpful too. In regards to the delicious food – never ever, have I tasted toasties or scrolls this amazing !! Anything you try, it is a whole new level of awesomeness . I have been working in Richmond/Cremorne for the last 14 months and I am genuinely upset that I never discovered this hidden gem earlier. If I was not trying to lose weight, I would get my lunch from Tidbit cakes every single day of the week. I have stopped eating anywhere else in Richmond now as no other café comes even close to the quality of food they offer. It shows how much love and care goes into the food that gets prepared. I love my almond milk coffees and they have the best one in town – they make their own almond milk – absolutely amazing !! I promise I am not getting paid to write this. I just absolutely love their food and the amazing service that I get. Every person I meet, I have insisted they go try them at least once. My whole team at work is now a fan too ! Give it a try !!

I discovered Tidbit Cakes in September 2018 when I started at a new position in nearby Richmond. I am not Vegan, nor are any of my colleagues, but we all visit Tidbit at least once per week, but normally more often, because the CAKES, SAVOURIES and SANDWICHES, not to mention the COFFEE are FRIGGIN' OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! The owner is "Rhi" and we love the ambient she has established for her cafe at the corner of Church and Mary Streets, Richmond. There is indoor as well as outdoor seating and although on a small footprint, it feels spacious, comfy and welcoming. Without exception, the customer service is always exceptional!!! We are so impressed with the Rhi's creations that we now engage Tidbit for all of our business catering, which is hosting delegates from overseas. The funny thing is that my bosses still haven't clued onto the fact that the food is Vegan!!! LOL That's because Rhi has mastered the art of scintillating flavours ... the light and fluffy, the rich and textured, aroma filled orgasm for your eyes, nose and tastebuds ..... I have also ordered cakes for birthdays and all sorts of personal celebrations and everybody devours every last piece!!! Rhi very quickly clued onto my personal taste preferences, which for me really demonstrates her indepth understanding of her customers, so it's easy for me to let Rhi make a recommendation and just go with that. She never misses. Through Tidbit Rhi not only provides nutritious, environmentally responsible products, but she lives these values by, amongst other things, helping support the Homeless. RHI and TIDBIT are the Real Deal, people! If you believe in supporting local businesses that are value driven and give back to the community, then Tidbit is for you!

I tried the Apple Cinnamon Scroll and was not disappointed!! It went so well with my soy latte, yum!!
Very friendly staff. Love how this place is all vegan. The chicken basil pesto sandwich was so good. The “chicken” was so soft and heaps of flavour accompanied with great sauce. The bread was just delicious. The new york cheese cake was moist as. Massive hit of flavour. Good coffee here also. Thank you for also making the 5 inch chocolate ganache cake for me.
We had a birthday cake from Tidbit yesterday which was a stunning looking vanilla cake filled with buttercream topped with pretty pink flowers. It wasn’t overly sweet and the frosting to cake ratio was well balanced. Would definitely consider purchasing some of their other flavours in future
I adore Tidbit Cakes! I’ve ordered a raw cheesecake for my birthday the past two years and they’ve both been great, with everyone making comments about how awesome they taste. The muffins are also amazing, especially if you pop in first thing in the morning when they’re fresh out of the oven.
The cakes are pretty, the shop is cute and the coffee is not bad...I bought a few cupcakes and a slice of the chocolate tart! The frosting of the cupcakes is a bit too sweet for me, but really loved the chocolate tart tho!
Great little hideaway of a vegan dessert spot! Had the raw lemon and Poppi cake, and a hedgehog with hot chocolates, and were delicious! :’)
The big birthday cakes on display looked amazing too!! ! Wouldn’t mind ringing in another year with one of them despite magically not having advanced beyond 30 for the following ever.

Tidbit Cakes not only does awesome cakes, but the savoury options are great too. I loved the curried pumpkin pastie. The crust was beautifully light and flaky, and the curried pumpkin filling was delicious.
My partner ordered the sausage toastie and the bread was toasted, and buttered to perfection. The caramelised onions and mustard add a wonderful depth of flavour to an otherwise plain toastie.
The GF carrot cake was surprisingly moist, and quite dense, with an abundance of nuts and dried fruits within. Tasted too healthy for my partner, but I rather enjoyed it.
Tidbit Cakes doesn’t offer dairy so instead of our usual skinny latte, we ordered soy latte and found it smooth and creamy on the palate.
A lovely and tranquil space for cakes and coffee that will surely see me return for more.
The chicken pesto toasted sandwich was everything I could want in a sandwich, fake chicken can be hit or miss but this one was delicious.
The owner (think it was her) was lovely.
Cutest little orange cake and it was delish! Icing was lovely, quite sweet but balanced well by the super moist cake. So so happy there is a quality vegan cafe around and even happier it’s right near my partners work. 😊👍

A new vegan bakery which is a new favourite! I have been here 3 times now plus ordered my birthday cake from Tidbit Cakes in January. While the cafe is in Richmond (often a nightmare for parking), the parking is easy though I have only been on weekends. Each time though I have had free parking out the front. The vegan macarons are exquisite. Made with chickpea brine instead of egg white (who knew?!), they are both pretty and delicious. And are presented beautifully in a sweet box. The cookies are also yummy. They remind me of biscuits my Mum made when I was a child except vegan! I’ve had choc chip and a sultans one. Before I was vegan, lumberjack cake was a fave. The lumberjack cake is out of this world - so moist and dense.In terms of savoury food, Rhi the lovely owner has added to the range lately and I’ve tried filo triangles with spinach and vegan ricotta. Very generous in size and scrumptious. The best purchase to date has been my birthday cake. A work of art! And a vegan’s dream. Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and layers of raw cookie dough. Topped with choc chip cookies and a cookie crust at the bottom. Look at the pics - dare you not to drool! Vegans rejoice and order your celebration cakes here! The ordering system is easy. The website sets out the cakes and additional extras, prices, sizing and true to life photos. As for Rhi the owner, I feel lucky to have met her. Warm, enthusiastic and kind, she is not only a wonderful baker but a lovely person. The space itself is very pretty - simple and fresh with a touch of feminine styling. Thank you Rhi for making me feel so welcome each and every visit. And for catering to vegans of Melbourne so perfectly! See you again soon.

This cute little space in Richmond is now home to a wonderful vegan cafe and custom cake supplier. The cafe is fully stocked with both baked and raw vegan treats from cookies to cupcakes to cheesecakes and slices. Coffee is lovingly prepared with a choice of your favourite plant based milk including Bonsoy. You'll find a number of toasties and sandwhiches on offer which are generous in both size and flavour. My favourite is the cheese, tomato and homemade pesto. In terms of ordering a cake, owner Rhi has set up a very simple online ordering system on their website giving you size and flavour options to choose from. Rhi lovingly crafts all cakes to your specification and has them boxed and ready to go for pick up in store. I recently ordered the chocolate with choc chip cookie dough layered cake for a 60th birthday - all omnivores and vegans alike were very impressed with the presentation and flavour. Best vegan cakes I've ever had. Cafe is family friendly, offers a choice of tables indoors and outdoors and conveniently has a bathroom instore for customers. Definitely worth checking out for vegans and non-vegans.
Really happy to see more vegan bakeries popping up! I found this place by chance on HappyCow and went by to have a look. The shop front is kind of inconspicuous but not too hard to find with a map. There's a reasonable selection of sweets and savory foods - I got the chocolate cookie which my partner and I both enjoyed. Would love to come back to try their sandwiches sometime.
Ordered a vegan cake and gluten free cupcakes for my wedding; they were absolutely delicious. They were so rich in flavour my friends and family were stunned to learn it was vegan.

Rhi did a wonderful job with our wedding cake. Our guests loved it, she was easy to deal with throughout the planning process and kindly organised delivery timing with our venue so we didn’t have to stress about it on our wedding day.
Highly recommend also getting a tasting box to choose your flavour - everything is so good and it was hard to decide on the best flavours!!
Rhi from Tidbit Cakes made our stunning wedding cake for us this weekend. It was beautiful and made exactly to our instructions, and importantly had everyone commenting on how amazing it tasted (despite no one else being vegan). Rhi also coordinated with our florist to ensure the flowers went on nicely. We've very grateful for our cake, thanks again Tidbit!
Tidbit did an AMAZING job with our wedding treats. We ordered a cake, cupcakes, spiced almond cakes, cookies and macaroons and they were all delicious, they even helped us with a cake topper and had our monogram stamped onto the cookies. The only issue was we didn't order enough as our guests demolished our sweets table within 5 minutes and even the non-vegan guests, which there were a lot of, were very happy.

We have been buying cakes from Rhi and team for all occasions since the beginning of time. Everyone is always blown away by the taste, looks and details that go into these cakes. So far we have bought Birthday Cakes, a gender reveal cake (which was epic) Christmas cakes, Easter goodies, savoury treats and all of the delicious sweet cupcakes and slices that are stocked in the cafe. Oh and of course the legit coffee and drinks. Do yourself the favour and get involved. Maybe you will love it as much as I do and get a tatty to match mine. Xoxo
The cakes here are vegan, beautiful and delicious and the staff are very lovely! Take your non-vegan friends here to demonstrate how delicious vegan baked goods can be!
We have ordered our wedding cake from here and I cannot wait to eat it on the day! Great selection of flavours (for cupcakes) and a very reasonable delivery fee.
Wow wow wow! I could almost say the 45 min drive due to traffic was worth it! The toastie- flavoursome. The chocolate custard meringue tart- amazing!!! Service was ok, but it looked like there was only one person working and she was probably under the pump since she was making a cake and taking care of the cafe by herself. Would totally come back for the food.
This was the best vegan cake I ever had in my life 😍 Rhi is so friendly and took the time to take my order and create a special cake for my birthday with an amazing flavor combination that I would have never come up with on my own 🎂 All my non vegan friends were amazed at how good it was!! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for vegan cakes in Melbourne!
