Hendris cafe on Chrurch is unmissable as it has some amazing murals on the outside of the cafe.
I tried a strong skinny latte here which was really good, and the service was excellent. At the moment they have a special on their coffee orders and my coffee cost $2.15c.
Yep that's right, not nearly $5 like a lot if place atm so if you want a good cheap coffee then I can highly recommend Hendris.
And the food looked amazing, with BIG burgers less than $10 each I will be going back soon.
This place is definitely worth a visit.
A staple in my “grab something to eat on my lunch break” rotation of local spots. The owners are always very friendly and the food is spicy, hearty and delicious. Little touches like heated backyard and free hot tea/cold tea make the environment cosy and nice if you have the time to sit down rather than take away.
Having walked and ridden past this place on so many occasions my partner grabbed some food to go. Well my lord I should have come here sooner. Two braised dishes of chicken. Both completely different however both cooked in a magnificent way So tasty and so well cooked. I cannot recommend this place high enough. I hope everyone catches on and tries this place at least once. Because if you do it will be high on everyone’s radar. Staff are always friendly too. Excellent stuff
Came in first time. Staff and owner are friendly. The price on food is good too. Food was very tasty, absolutely loved it. Definitely recommend. Great spot to sit at the back.
My husband and I went there for a late lunch and the owner was helpful and friendly and the meal was healthy and tasty. Reasonable price and good serving size. Good to eat there or takeaway.
Good place, service is great, has free wifi, best soy coffee I’ve had in a while. Portions could be a little bigger, but everything is delicious.
Absolutely amazing home made food, beef stew with root veg mash, lemon chicken, tofu red curry ...these words don't even begin to describe the fantastic flavours. The chef gets up and goes to the market every morning and changes up these dishes every day. The dude is a real cook!! Hands down the best cafe experience I've had in a long time. Prices reasonable along with decor. A winner!
Amazing food, amazing chef, beautiful barista with blue hair. Very nice atmosphere, very much enjoy getting lunch here. The menu changes on daily basis so there is always something new and exciting to try.
Food is on the healthy side, desserts are also baked in store.
I picked up the Roti Burger and Spaghetti with broccoli sauce from the shop yesterday as they were so generous to offer meals for international students. The food was really tasty, felt so refreshing in this lockdown.
+1 to the owner who offered me 2 meals even when I hadn't booked earlier.
Will definitely come back again and support the business as they are supporting the international students in this time.

Cute seating area in converted garage space. Great coffee. Great value for money
I tried the ciabbatta Steak and was so tasty and the sauce inside was creamy. It was too much for me, so was my lunch and dinner 😅
Was on a walk down church street looking for somewhere to get a coffee and some food and saw this place offering a big breakfast for $17!!
Decided to give it a go and wow was it awesome. Almost a whole $10 less than any other place in Richmond that would offer less food and arguably not as good. It was a bonus the lady serving me was super nice and friendly.
The coffee was a bit ordinary, not sure why, could be either the ingredients or maybe some further training on the machine but honestly everything else was just so brilliant i didn't even mind.
100% support this small business and i recommend the big breakfast, great value!
Very friendly staff. Generous portion. Cosy and excellent customer service. Would make it a regular if I was a local.
Excellent food (what's available changes daily); atmosphere, and hospitality. Highly recommended. Very good coffee and a selection of mouth watering cakes. This small cafe in Church St, Richmond is a place that takes great pride in what they cook and that their patrons are more than satisfied. Hendri's post daily on Instagram what they've prepared for lunch that day.
Since moving to Richmond I have tried so many cafes looking for the best food with the most affordable price. Hendris cafe is by far the best! I have been meaning to try this place for a while and I’m so happy I did. The coffee is tasty and strong, the service is amazing and food is incredible. I even made a take away order recently and they had forgotten my hash browns so they offered to deliver it and gave us banana bread to say sorry. They really care about their customers. The food is really good quality and super affordable. I couldn’t recommend this place more! ❤️
