Review Hooked On Fish - Ringwood

Ordered over the phone and collected from store. Fish was fresh and batter was crispy for flakes and the potato cakes. Good value for money & store was visibly clean, will definitely return.

Lunch packs are a feast. Easily the best potato cakes I've ever had.

Great vibe and food is very good. I brought 🐟 & chips and steak 🥩 burger 🍔 and both were fresh & tasty. Really good customer service. New to the area and this is where I'll be going for Fish & Chips from now on.😎

This was the first time I have ordered from here. I was disappointed for 3 reasons. 1. I ordered a Thai fish cake and when I got home it was missing. 2. The steak sandwich was in a burger bun. That's not really a sandwich. 3. The fish burger showed no care in its construction, lacked fillings and was soggy. There doesnt appear to be much pride in what they are selling. It's such a shame. 😞

I wish i could give zero stars. The most disappointing fish and chips I've ever had and the most disappointing customer service ever experienced. The chips and potato cakes were very average. Quite soggy. The fish was something else, completely limp and soggy. I understand things can go wrong, so i called the store to let them know. The person i spoke to said that they have never had a complaint before and said "i can't do much, i can't refry it". When i said i would not be back, she said "never mind" and hung up.

The owners are lovely people who take pride in their work and business. Produce is always fresh, which is really important for seafood! It is always a pleasure to see a well run small business, by people who care about what they do.

Fish doesn't disappoint, grilled or battered both good. They also have great real calimari rings which are a guilty pleasure of mine. Other options (burgers) are good for a quite bite.

Surprised that i find the fish is just so so, especially after reading people’s positive comments here. The chips are ok, and so are the dumpling and potato cake. I just expected the fish batter to be crispier. However i notice it’s isn’t as oily as other fish n chips places. Not coming back though.

Consistently perfect, fresh fish with good service in a clean (if somewhat barebones) shop. The only local fish & chip shop that does a crumbed fish, too. I hope this place never changes hands!

Great local Fish & Chip Shop.  Beautiful grilled fish, great dim sims (even if too much soy sauce applied) and potato cakes and chips are obviously cooked in fresh oil.  This is a regular take away for us and highly recommend as the best local Fish and Chip shop in area.  Staff are always friendly.

SUPER!!! This is the best fish and chips hands down. I can only assume and negative reviews are from owners of other Fish and Chip shops near by who dont want to raise their standards to Hooked on Fish!  Staff friendly, food always cooked perfectly. Great.

Pro or unpro? It's pro! Fish is always pro. Chips are also pro. Lunch packs are pro and comes with plenty of food. Fish comes with lemon which is also pro.

Rip off and poor customer service. So disappointed in the man that works there. We ordered a simple $7 OF CHIPS and got about the size of there minimum. Once we brought it up with him he told us to go elsewhere . <br/>Sure mate, we will. We will also not be advising anyone to go to you anymore. FOOL, you just lost ours and others business!

Everyone has a favourite fish n' chip shop. This one is mine. Fresh Australian fish on display in cabinet before cooking, great chips and nice people. Highly recommended

We've been going to Hooked On Fish for as long as it's been open in Ringwood North. Fantastic fish and chips. They also do crumbed fish - well worth a try if you don't want battered, fatty covered fish. The breadcrumbs are a nice light, healthy alternative. We also purchase fresh fish from here and they never disappoint. Blows the competition on Warrandyte Rd out the water!

IMPRESSED!. I was very impressed with the wide selection of fresh seafood. Great service and value for money. Will definitely be making it my weekly fish & chip shop :)

Disappointed. Ate there once and it was okay. Second time we ordered from there they charged us $22 for calamari, chips and 2 potato scallops, which was a complete rip off! The calamari was disgusting we didn't even eat it! Waste of money and will not be going back!

Best fish and chips in Melbourne!. This is by far the BEST fish and chips I have ever eaten! I have even tried their burgers and souvlaki's and they were fresh and amazing quality. You can definitely taste the difference in the fresh fish and the chips were crunchy and perfect. <br/>I don't usually write reviews but I was VERY IMPRESSED! My family loved the food and the quality as well.<br/>The staff are friendly and also helped me out a lot in choosing fish for my liking and I was very happy with their recommendations.<br/>Will make it my usual shop from now on!!

Chips were terrible! Like soggy chewy cardboard. We ate about half a chip each, fed a few to the dog and chucked the rest. What a waste of money. We went here because our old fav Panfield Fish and Chips has changed owners and is also now awful. As a ringwood north local I would love to know of a good fish and chip shop in the area. We all know it's bad for us so if we are going to eat it we at least want to make it worth it!

Worst souvlaki and chips!!!. We read the good reviews and thought we would give them a try, boy were we disappointed, hooked on fish win an award for the worst souvlaki and fish and chips we have ever had, lamb was tough and chewy, chips were soggy and had a strange odor, fish was just ok. Owners should sample their own product to ensure they are selling quality food to customers. We never write reviews as we do not like to criticize, but after eating their food we felt compelled to do so. Will never go again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without doubt the best fish n chipper in the eastern suburbs and probably top 10 for Melbs. Fish is fresh daily from the market and batter is light and crisp. Consistently excellent!

Not so good. Lliving locally in Ringwood , I like to support the businesses, but I have given up on this one. I have been here about 10 times and the food is always greasy. The fish sticks to the paper, because of the grease!!. It fall apart when you pick it up, because of the grease!!!!. They are nice people, but they seriously need to go to other fish shops to realise the quality is not good. The fish is fresh and the chips are ok, they just can't cook it properly. The suburbs just can't get it right!!!
