Review Indians Again - Ringwood

Enjoying this gem hidden away in East Ringwood. The food is pretty good and the service even better. The place is clean, spread out and maintained. The menu is pretty well spread and caters to all. Highly recommend their Machurian and Chilli starters - very different from the versions out there...Dosa options are few but are tasty and cover the basics...the Naans especially the stuffed ones are yummo..plenty of parking...BYO Wine...best of all are chef's special recipe dishes and these refresh the concept of the standard Indian meal of butter chicken...though I must say that is yum as !!! Oh almost forgot...the Gulab Jamuns are made in their own Kitchen and as just divine 😍

Loved the family meal deal, which was well priced and good portions. Also very much appreciated their taking my phone call order when the online apps weren't working. Good food and great service.

We had dinner here this evening and the food was delicious. Entrees were large serves, we had Lamb Sukka, Tandoori Mushrooms and Spinach Pakora. For mains we had Goat Curry, mixed Veg Curry, Naan and Rice. The food was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had. The staff were delightful and price was reasonable. Very pleasant restaurant

Fabulous dinner experience using Groupon! What a deal! Excellent menu choices, great ambiance and fantastic service! Food was delicious with good portions. Service was super friendly and food was served expediently. Highly recommended!

Went for dinner and ordered chicken 65, chicken biriyani, prawn 65 and egg bajji. Decently priced, Taste was good all dishes were fresh and pipping hot. Service and Ambiance were also good. Felt the quantity of biriyani was less for the price hence rated 4 stars.

Wish my experience was good. Quite an average veg biryani unfortunately, and gobi Manchurian was also just ok. I mentioned less spice in comments, but in addition to less spice, there was almost no salt. The curry along with the biryani was great hence 3 stars.
Brendan Woodward
Great Indian food. All dishes are good but really good dosa.
Jennifer Subramanian
The entree I order was very bad, no taste, no salt or flavour. The chicken was dry and chewy. Very disappointed with the two dishes I ordered. The curry and naan I ordered the day before was good but entrees a big dissatisfaction.

Just enjoyed a great meal with fantastic service . Thanks team, the food was awesome.

1st time here for weekday dinner.Restaurant unfortunately was quiet, had only 1 other table occupied.
Ordered Onion Bhaji (disappointed as looked exactly like supermarket onion rings except with lots of batter), tandoor chicken was not available that night so ordered tandoori tikka (came on hot plate with 5 pieces of bite size chicken thigh-not exactly generous although meat was tender), had the fabulous chicken briyani which took a while to be served but it was certainly worth the wait-yummy,not oily, absolutely delish and lastly the chicken murtabak again delish and not oily.Food served with assortment of yoghurt, mint, tamarind sauce-all so delicate and balances out the indian spices. This is not the place to pour curry all over your food.
Good find, will go again and try other dishes. Service was polite and prompt.

Fantastic good, good service and good recommendations from the waitress. Didn’t wait too long for the food to arrive either.

I’m surprised by the recent low reviews of this place, went last Saturday and really enjoyed it. For starter we ordered a plain Uthappam to share and it was delicious and light.

For mains we had the teen rukkha murgh and lamb korma with roti and naan, along with saffron rice. The thing I really liked about these dishes was that they didn’t taste too heavy/creamy as often Indian restaurants westernise their dishes a lot.

Will definitely come back, service was very friendly as well.

Well it took over 30 minutes for our orders to be taken, and when ordering the excuses were already starting, such as the usual chef was not on and a replacement chef was working. The meals were dry, tasteless and took over an hour to come to our table after ordering - and there were only 4 of us. The waitress did not care and could not look at us. There were only two other people in the restaurant and we will not be going back!
I Love Food
BEWARE if you've already bought a scoopon or cudo voucher or if your thinking to buy one!
I bought a scoopon deal for this place for 4 people. As per my pics attached deal was for starter to share per couple (no restrictions), main per person (restriction listed as main excludes seafood), steamed rice to share per couple, roti or naan each, dessert each & drink each. When we tried to order our starter we ordered from tandoor menu & were told we can't. This restriction not on the deal anywhere. Told we can only order starter from veg or non veg appetizer menu. Then we tried to order mains. Ordered 4 meat dishes & told we can't, can only order 1 veg & 1 non veg main per couple, again this restriction not listed on the deal, only restriction listed was no seafood for mains. Then we tried to order drinks & told beer not included. Every time we were told no I repeatedly showed them the terms of the deal which I had printed & bought with me. The young female waitress seemed very inexperienced & kept going back & forth to speak to the chef in the kitchen about our issues. In the end we finally spoke to the chef & he claimed the deal he made with scoopon was not the deal I had bought. WE LEFT without eating as this was a terrible experience & I requested a refund from scoopon which I've received now. So just warning everyone about this place & deal. Plenty of better local Indian places to dine at, skip this one.

We went to Indian Again on Friday night a group of 6. Absolutely fantastic food and Shraddha our service attended was great. Not one complaint on anything. Our favourite Indian restaurant now. Cost great $25 per head. Can't beat that!
Good Food Good Mood
We picked up takeaway from here on Friday night after our dinner plans fell through. Upon my first bite of the garlic naan I felt I was in for a treat. The bread was fluffy with a decent amount of garlic. SO often a garlic naan is bland AF so I couldn’t wait to dip this into my curry but unfortunately the butter chicken near set me on fire so spicy was the dish I had requested as mild. I commend them on their dosa but I’d hate to think what they consider to be ‘hot’.

Food was good. We ordered biryani and was charged $5 extra for a very tiny serve raita which was supposed to come along with it... which we felt completely inappropriate...Most of the Indian restaurants serve raita alonwith biryani... Besides, in restauarant they said delivery is free within 5 kms bill value above $30. I was trying to order for like $100-$120 over the phone, but was told that there is extra for delivery but when I mentioned my initial conversation in reataurant, he said "ok, it's free" I felt it as highly unprofessional statement.

So so so so good! My favorite Indian restaurant! I get the meal deal for two and it is heaps of food! We always have leftovers :)
The garlic nann and saffron rice is at no extra cost.
The papadams are pretty expensive but so good! They are worth it! The food is nice and spicy!

We came here on Good Friday and it was fairly quiet. A friendly getting on arrival and prompt service of drinks to start. My partner and I ordered a dosa each for entree; cheese and spinach for her and chili for me. Both were fantastic! Light, crispy and tasty, with three different dipping sauces. A great beginning. For mains we ordered Teen Rukkha Murgh, a chicken dish with three different gravies, and Lamb Chettinadu, a spicy dish redolent with pepper and curry leaves. Super tender and super tasty. We had saffron rice and garlic naan as accompaniments and both were very good. Service was efficient and genuinely friendly. Would come back again in a heartbeat!

Situated opposite Ringwood East railway station, Indians Again is a local restaurant that focuses on, you guessed it, traditional Indian cuisine. My partner is a sucker for a good curry (as am I) and when I came across this place on Google, I thought I’d check it out. If you’re familiar with South Indian cuisine, then you’d know what dosa is. I love, love, love dosa – a crispy thin crepe that’s the size of a small tent, served with some vegetarian sides. If I see it on a menu, I can’t look past it. This time was no exception.

Delicious. Monday night, very quiet but we enjoyed the food and the company as a small group. The thick pancake was the first time we had ever had this type of Indian cuisine and it was totally worth it. Every curry and naan was tasty. We loved it.

The quality of food has really, really gone down. I ordered Chicken Chettinadu and it was no where near how the dish is supposed to taste. Tasted like some kind of paste from the bottle with lot of tomato sauce in it. There was absolutely no seasoning, too much sauce and may be 5 pieces of chicken and not good at all. It was a rip off. Paid $17 for a container filled with sauce. Sadly not upto standard. Very, very Disappointed.

We have been to Indians Again many times and the food is great but home delivery is not so much.
Paneer 65 was teribble last night. - It was like cubes of paneer deep friend and nothing else with it.
There is supposed to be some onion and green chilli in it with thick dry sauce.
Dosas were ok but packed like a local store when Indian Again is more fancy in one way.

Rest of the food is always nice when dinning in.

Pic of paneer 65

Oh man... this place.. the food is absolutely delicious and the service is exceptional with the loveliest waitress going round! Every dish we've had there has beaten the same dish we've had elsewhere by far! We love the chicken dishes the best! Definitely worth a go! Hamish and Andy even thought so! ;)

We have had indian takeaway from indians again twice and the food has been excellent both times. We have been searching for a decent indian restaurant and this is the best we have had in the ringwood area so far. We had the chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh and beef vindaloo. All were very nice.

Beautiful food, nice ambiance and lovely staff. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great night out.
The butter chicken and lamb korma was delicious.
Will be back for sure.

I eat here regularly and the food is always fresh and delicious, the fish curry kerala is superb. The family favourite is the tasty yet not too spicy butter chicken. They will give you information regarding gluten free options if required.

Sensational spicy South Indian fare. The Andhra dishes are great and it's a delight to get a Dosa served up crisp on a winter evening in the burbs.

Great service.

Very pleased with our Butter Chicken and Egg Plant and Potato gravy. Great flavours and a real find in the East Ringwood village!
Can't believe this was our first visit to this fine restaurant!

Ringwood East Diners. We looked forward to our second visit to Indian's Again for their Sunday night buffet. The food was plentiful and on the whole tasty, but was not presented at a warm enough temperature. We mentionted this at the time and on leaving the restaurant, but were only given a very lame apology. Were very disappointed as we were introducing some friends who also live locally. We have been frequenting this business since it's inception, but on our last few visits have witnessed the previous high standards dropping. Unfortunately will not be rushing back.

Indians Again and again and again. This is the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne. The southern influence creates a menu of options not seen in Indian restaurants and the food is just sensational and the prices are extremley affordable. If this restaurant was located in the city instead of East Ringwood, you would not get a table. They have a buffet on Sundays which is provides a sample of what they produce- but their A La Carte menu blitzes. Go once and I bet you will return-like we do.

Best Biryani in Melbourne. Without a shadow of doubt this restaurant offers the best and most authentic Biryani in Melbourne. I've tried Biryani in countless Indian restaurants, I can tell with conviction this one beats every other restaurant hands down! Don't forget to try the other 'spicy' dishes from their extra-long menu. You will not be disappointed.

A better than average restaurant. We eat out a lot and from time to time stumble on a better than average restaurant. Indians Again was one of them. After our initial visit we have been back twice more within a period of a couple of months. On each occasion we have found the staff friendly and attentive. The food is excellent with a good range of choices. The decor is pleasant and quite intimate. It is moderately priced and In our opinion represents very good value for money.

The times we went, it wasn't very busy so perhaps some of the negative reviews that complained of poor service are reporting on their experiences during very busy periods.
Foodfreaksmelbourne
Plenty of options if you have food intolerance's. The staff here are great at looking after those of us with food intolerance's. The chefs are happy to help out, advising you what you can and can't eat. The menu is extensive, so there are plenty of options for gluten free, dairy free, egg free customers.
The food itself is quite amazing, and this is an awesome local restaurant.

$&@&$&&. Best indian restaurant in town!!food is absolutely amazing as always.no matter how many time times they change the chef the food taste good as always but I missed the other chef.

Indians Again? Once was enough!. We ordered delivery at 7:15pm on a Saturday night. While you expect take away food to be quite busy on a Saturday night, an hour is a bit extreme. From observation in passing by previously, they never seem to have many customers. It makes sense to me now.
The food was another disappointment. The malai kofta was a container of sauce with three average size pieces of kofta inside. For the high price they charge it was a massive letdown. The butter chicken was of a closer to adequate proportion for the price, but still left much to be desired in value. The garlic naan was tolerable, and the saffron rice tasted quite buttery, like large chunks of butter or alternative were placed on top to give the yellow colour rather than actual saffron.
Overall we were dissatisfied. Value 2/10, Food 5/10, Speed 1/10. I suggest some alternatives in the surrounding area such as Utsav in Heathmont or Phoolwari in Ringwood.

A gem in the Eastern Suburbs. I love this restaurant! The decor is stylish, the wait staff are friendly and the food is amazing. Good food in the Eastern Suburbs is few and far between, Indian's Again ticks all the boxes.

Really Amazing. Having lived as an expat in India for 2 years this was like stepping back there!! Food was excellent and service was extremely friendly - a little slow - but it was worth the wait for such high quality and authentic food. We have recently moved to live in Heathmont so this place is a real find on our doorstep!! Keep up the great food Indians Again!!

I have been to some average restaurants in my time but this would have to be my worst to date. I won't comment on the food as I didn't stay long enough to eat. It took more than a minute for someone to even acknowledge that we had walked in the door, was then eventually seated. Got given a food menu with no offer of a drink not even a water, nor a drink menu, I had to go up to the counter to ask for a drink menu to which the reply was, we don't have one. Sat at the table and waited to be served and after 15 minutes or more we got up and walked out, along with 2 other groups. I'm suprised this place can keep its doors open!

Great Food. This place is a gem hidden away. Great southern Indian food. The Dosas are amazing (try one if you haven't) and the Kerilan Fish Curry and Biriyani are awesome. This is different to the normal Indian food that you always getl so best to try things that you don't find at a normal Indian restaurant. Good luck guys, your food is great. Service is friendly if a little patchy. Amazing value though, heaps of food and variety for 5 people with drinks only $125.00.

Not what we expected. Food was very average, we had to wait for ages and we were really disappointed with the quality and taste of the food.

Will not go back again

About time I found a butter chicken with some heat!! This place has really good butter chicken, big flavours and a nice kick at the back of the throat. If u want a beautiful butter chicken with good heat go here

Fantastic food! Extremely slow service so never choose this place if you're in a hurry. Although well worth it if you're wanting a relaxing night

Great south indian food. I have been here a few times now...Always wanting to try some different south indian dish...so far the food's been great... Tried the chicken dosa which wasn't so good to taste...nothing wrong with the preparation though..
the service is a tiny bit slow but worth the wait.. the staff are very friendly and always ready to help you have a good time..

First time here and really impressed by the taste. Bit expensive but worth for the taste. Friendly service and cool ambience.

Excellent! First time there and am impressed with the dosa (recommend the lamb masala dosa). The portions were generous and the flavour is fantastic. Will definitely head back there. Friendly staff also, thanks for a good night :)

Excellent Food. We have now eaten food from Indians Again 3 times. Eaten in twice and takeaway once. Each time the food has been excellent! This a very relaxed and friendly restaurant, service is good but the food is amazing. My partner never actually liked Indian food until this restaurant. Beautifully presented too. There are quite a few restaurant along this strip I haven't tried the others but I will definitely be going in Indians Again, again. :-)
Tayana
I think the food is really tasty, but the servings are way too small for the price. I have had takeaway twice now, and both times there have only been a 4-5 pieces of meat and the rest of the container filled with sauce. Can't help feeling ripped off by that.
GJ
Great Indian in the burbs. It was a great surprise when we ate at Indians Again. The food was very good in particular the dosa. My wife is vegetarian an gluten free this was not an issue with plenty of options. The service was excellent. Will be back for more yummy food soon.
Lisa CC
Indians again was wonderful! The only place to get real Dosa. The prawn masala Dosa was excellent.
Nathan Chapman
Bitterly disappointed. Like too many restaurants in the area, outrageously high ratings which can only suggest the owners are getting a lot of 'friends' to bolster their ratings.

Both curries we ordered were over half full of sauce once we removed the tiny amount of food. I.e. the butter chicken had 5-6 medium pieces of chicken. For the quantity of food provided, absolute rip off (ended up making more dinner from cupboard at home).

By far, Utsav in Heathmont or Taj Agra in Ringwood are your better options

Best Dosa in Melbourne!. Highly recommended. Met the friendly owner and other staff, had the best dosa I've had in Australia thus far! Great service too, even received complimentary starter.
Jason Potter
Indians again is by far the best Indian cuisine I have ever experienced in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The food is top quality, with great sized portions and at a very reasonable price.

Having visited this restaurant once for my birthday it is now a family regular time and time again with it being either dine in or take away the quality of food and service is always consistently the same.

I recommend this restaurant time and time again to friends and they are never let down upon visiting this small, quiet and well executed Indian establishment.

This is the best Indian food I've had in Melbourne. Try the dosas, they are SO good. Everything tastes fresh, no same old boring heavy Indian food. I have been many times, taken lots if different people, and everybody has loved it. And all have gone back again. Good service, very friendly staff and reasonably priced.
Chrissy
Fabulous Indian food!. We are reluctantly writing this review because we have no doubt this little restaurant will catch on and we will have to start booking at what has after just one meal become a local favourite. We decided to dine out on the spur of the moment but we were very happy we did. Ringwood has a few Indian restaurants but this one is a stand out. We started with a chicken masala dosa, a yummy, and huge pancake filled with masala fried chicken and curry mash potatoes. Plenty for both of us to share as an entree. My wife chose the panner and mushroom peas masala and I the chicken chettinadu. I asked AJ the owner what he would suggest as an authentic, spicy Indian curry and this was superb. Accompanied by naan and rice, we left feeling very satisfied and the bill came in at under $60 for the two of us (byo wine). Try it, you won't be disappointed! Lawrence and Christene.

Amazing Food - Great Value. We have been here a couple of times now and each time the food and service has been fantastic!
The Indian cuisine is authentic, fresh and delicious.

For entree you have to try the Gobi 65 (cauliflower marinated in spices and deep fried) it is unbelievable.
Other favourites so far include:
• Onion Bhajji,
• Lamb Sukka,
• Teen Rukkha Murgh, and the
• Lamb Rogan Josh.

They also do amazing Dosa (rice and lentil pancakes) which we had never tried before eating here. We had the Lamb Dosa (pancake stuffed with lamb and potato masala) and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This restaurant offers by far some of the best food in the area and the value for money is outstanding.
You would be mad not to try it.

Very expensive !!!!!

Wow amazing food! Best Indian I've had outside of India. Authentic and tasty. Clean restaurant. Highly recommended!

Great. Best Indian i've had, diverse menu.

Loved it. My husband and I have dined in here and ordered take away a few times and haven't been disappointed yet. Service is friendly and efficient, food looks great and best of all tastes delicious. Can't recommend this place enough!
