Review Rustic Italian - Ringwood

Have been here a couple of times. We arrived for an early dinner around 5.30pm on a Saturday night and were first customers. We were seated and given drink and pizza menu's. Service can be a little slow but always friendly staff. Our pizzas came quickly. Toppings are good and as always great wood fired pizzas. Prices here are very reasonable. The large pizzas are a good size and the two we ordered were pretty filling. For desert we ordered Bambolini which are Golden dough bites rolled in cinnamon sugar with Nutella sauce. These were really good and great size serve. The gelato was also really good. Highly recommended for a nice casual dinner.

A small family run business that produces some amazing Italian food. We've come here many times now and am never disappointed. Quality, price and service sizes are all generous. Hosts are lovely and you can tell are a young family. If you enjoy a nice meal then do yourself a favour and give them a try. Chances are you'll be back many times like we have!

Fantastic food & good service. Unfortunately due to the heat over 40o the aircon was struggling with a few tables of patrons. This will not stop us from coming back. Authentic Italian meals. Spaghetti seafood, pizza, calamari & the chicken parmigiana were all delicious.

I have visited this place a couple of times now and was impressed every time with the tasty food, particularly the gnocchi. Staff was always most helpful and has a lovely family atmosphere. Maybe it’s best not to use the courier services as I noted some people were not happy when ordering through them. I will find it hard to believe that you will not be most pleased with this place, considering it’s also well priced. They also have a lovely and cheap wine (for a restaurant) wine list. I’ve been telling everyone I know about this little gem. Taking my son and his family there this Friday, as he loves good food.

Been back about 20 times and don’t live in the area. One of best Italian we’ve had without the expensive price tag. A lot of love and care in their food and service. Their Spaghetti Frutti Di Mari and risotto are fantastic seafood dishes we always order.

Just back from an amazing Anniversary Dinner. We tried this restaurant after seeing it open for a couple of months. The quality of food was fantastic. Nice to meet Grace the co owner and chat about the business. Her husband Nav is the chef and my gnocchi melted in my mouth and my wife's garlic prawns were also great. We will be back to this very well priced restaurant .

Dined her 4 weeks ago as part of a family catchup. Was easily the best carbonara I have had from a diverse range of restaurants and pubs in Victoria. Strictly speaking; they need to really be more generous with the serving sizes of the pasta & maybe reduce price. Other than that ; I feel they are a great restaurant that I would thoroughly recommend for families and couples to dine after a long day.

This place has gone down hill both in service and in quality of the food. The flavour isn't there and the quality of produce seems lacking. I've been to many Italian restaurants and this one used to be one of my favourites. Firstly I booked for a table online and when we walked in an said we had a booking she just told us to sit anywhere. That's fine but what is the point of booking a nice table. Secondly, they had a kid probably about 2 years of age. At first he was in the back where the bar was. Playing with toys on display for the customers to see. He later decided to take his toy car push thing up and down the whole restaurant. This is the second time I came to eat and he was being 'babysat' at the Restaurant! Before we had even ordered drinks about 10 mins into sitting down the little kid comes up to our table with the car push thing and crashes into our table! I told them he was very disruptive and distraction. They seemed oblivious to it thinking he was cute and doing a good job. They did take him to the back and he didn't come back out when we got our food. Our food took 15-20 mins even with 2 other tables ordering food at similar time. I would think it to be less time for the quality of the food. The pizza was super thin, and dry and for $22 I'd hope for more ingredients or at least not have it dry. The pasta was tacky and did not taste nice and there was a strange taste to it. Like they threw in an ingredient that wasn't supposed to be there. I was going out for my second year anniversary with my partner looking to have a romantic dinner out, but I felt more like I was at a maccas right next to the playplace instead. I won't be coming back here unfortunately, and I wouldnt recommend anyone coming here for nice Italian food. Zero95 is a better place at least they have good food and better service. And no children being babysat whilst they are working.

Food was great! We loved the eggplant chips, and the pastas hit all the right notes.

The gnocchi here was delicious and satisfied my cravings. Pizza was great too, but the ham was a bit too salty for my liking. Staff was polite but could be more attentive to the tables - it took a while to grab their attention. Overall a good experience, would come back!

Great food and spacious restaurant with attentive service. The gnocchi and eggplant chips were excellent. Will be back with a bigger group to try more of the menu.

Had lunch & dinner on 3 separate occasions. Each time we were served promptly and food came out quickly. Excellent base on the wood fired pizzas. Eggplant chips are delicious. Steak was great. Extensive $9 lunch menu available. Lots of pizzas & pasta. Decor is plain but who cares.
Highly recommend this place.

Great food! The wood-fired Priscuito Pizza was especially good. The pizza crust was like the ones I ate in Rome. I especially liked the Pollo Avocado Riso. The eggplant chips is a must try! Nice experience and very friendly staff.

Food was amazing here love the ambience of this place. Only thing that detracted from the experience was the awkwardness of the wait staff. Would still go again

What a great find awesome food.
The best Italian food I’ve had and I married an Italian...
This is a family run business and they certainly make you feel very welcome

Pleasently surprised. New establishment and they are still obviously finding their feet service wise, but vey pleasant and eager. Pasta was authentically flavoured and delicious, made the wait worthwhile. Pizzas on other tables looked and smelled great, will try next time. Panna cotta for desert was great...genuine home made, not mass produced or full of gelatine.

Staff are ultra friendly, very helpful lovely people who even generously gave us an extra scoop of ice-cream. We used Groupon - $39 for a 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine, a shared entree and shared dessert, on a Sunday night - they fitted us in with very short notice. Restaurant was about 20% full when we arrived at 6:30, 65% full when we left. We ordered an extra bolognase on the top for the kids. Eggplant fries were perfectly done, as was the chicken gnocci and bolognase. the seafood risotto would have been perfect except the scallops seemed like some sort of processed marinara - i.e. it had a different texture than real scallops; mussels were of average quality. Gelati and sorbet were very good quality - the flavours definitely came out in all 4 scoops. House red was lovely and easy to drink - probably a merlot. The decor is ok, though the bamboo cladding on the base of the walls seems the one thing out of place - and yes we recognise that it came from the previous Thai restaurant; facilities were new looking and clean though. Brown paper table cloths is very different to the standard white paper used in most Italian restaurants - this gives the place more of a casual feel, rather than classy or formal. overall we enjoyed the experience and would more than likely come back another time - the Groupon deal seems like value anyway.

One of the worse dining experiences we’ve ever had! All the way from trying to book, to the service and food! We were given either an early booking or late booking because of a lot of large bookings, only to get there to find the restaurant empty! We were there for 1hr 20mins and it was still virtually empty?!?! Can’t mention a few issues here, but we turned to make sure we were in the right place. Some of the staff had no idea about anything and wandered aimlessly all night, said we could exchange our wine to beer but then we were refused and offered soft drink in place. The staff hovered over us to get our order as we skimmed the menu fast, not giving us time to look.

Entree of Aranchini balls were sticky dry gluten balls of no flavour, sauce was nice, half the rocket was yellow. Still chewing our entree and mains were placed in front of us.

Looked very unappetising as undercooked chips and cheese on Parma was just melted, so was like a rubber globular mess! Could barely cut through the first part of chicken as dry and stringy. Hardly any sauce on Parma, few blobs on top of the rubber cheese, over all Parma had virtually no flavour. Our other main of garlic Prawns had poor presentation - just chucked on the plate. Prawns weren’t deveined and had too much shell left on, and over cooked as like rubber! The garlic cream sauce was tasty though yay. We were over it all and couldn’t eat most of our meals. Oh the salad was quite delicious ...double yay!

We were then left waiting for a long time to order dessert - at this stage we were trying to hurry it along to get out of there. Finally our panacotta arrived, as small as it was. Presentation average as it had many glad wrap marks from the mould. Thankfully it was the best part of the meal! The berry element didn’t go and could’ve stayed off the plate. We will never return to this restaurant, and wished we’d gone to maccas instead it was that bad. Groupon saved us paying full price, and we still felt we paid too much for what we got. Sorry but a big thumbs down!!!! Adam Mirams

All of the food we had was fantastic. The bomboloni for dessert in particular! The let down was the service, huge English language barrier which made things difficult but would return.

I ordered these guys take away because I saw their lunch special, and Dominos round here is really bad (2 x bouts of food poisoning). I was not expecting what I got:

- Great pizza without the pretense
- Good Bruschetta

I'd recommend this restaurant: great food - and value for money. Most satisfied and now loyal customer.

New restaurant that more people should try! The Calamari and goats cheese salad is amazing, Carbonara is rich and creamy and the pizzas are perfectly simple.

Organised a Take-Away Parma, it was perfect, fresh Parma, tasty Chips and a great Salad, made eating it at home seem like a comfortable restaurant. Service was wonderful, organised my order for the exact time I planned it for. Will definitely come back.

Service could have been much better.
Friendly staff, but service was very slow.
The food was decent- no complains, but not amazing.

A worker ( I presume the owner) was constantly smoking out the front of the store. - not very professional.

Probably a one and done restaurant for me.

Came here a week ago and walked in. Took about 5 minutes to get seated. Even though it was a ghost town. Then about 15 minutes later got asked if we wanted food or drinks. We were told that they might be able to slip in our order as they only had one chef on. The waiter was going out the front of the restaurant every 10 minutes to smoke and would also be sitting at a table eating dinner and drinking wine when there was food to serve. About an hour later our pizza came out. It was okay. Good flavours but very small amount of toppings.

I would only come back if they had a more professional approach to their in house service.
Caroline
Friendly service and the food was delicious. Pizzas thin and crusty with just the right amount of toppings. Lamb ragu was fresh and creamy. Chicken gnocchi was smooth and creamy. Will come again. Little gem of a place

New business working out the kinks but after the wait the food was fantastic and the staff were wonderful. I’ve never seen the kids eat pasta so quick . Thx to all

Food was good, but high priced for location. Just one vegetarian dish in mains. I liked the food but because of not much options for vegetarian, I may not go there second time.

Came here last night had a gnocchi and a pizza. Service was excellent. Food took 15 minutes. The best gnocchi I ever had. Pizza was good as well very thin base. Friendly staff, nice decor and ambience.

I had a booking for 6pm. Was sat down. Only 2 other tables in the restaurant occupied. It took 15 minutes to be asked if we would like drinks. When we asked if we could order food, the waitress then proceeded say "I have to check out the back as we have deliveries to attend to". Then returned 10 minutes later only to say that we could order only if we ordered the same thing.

The worst experience I have had. We finished our drinks and spent our money elsewhere, to a restaurant that was prepared to actually serve us food!
Not quite sure how to rate this place. Some elements were great, others not so great. The entree ‘tasting plate’ was probably a little overpriced for $29. But the wood fired pizzas were pretty good and value for money. I probably wouldn’t dine in again but I’d buy a takeaway pizza.

Had the best pasta meat ball dish here, had to write a review, awesome serving taste and price! Im actually addicted I can defiantly recommend this place, the dough and flavours on the pizzas are unreal 2 ! Love to support awesome local restaurants like this. Thanks guys!!
Had a great lunch at this newly opened restaurant. Best wood fired pizza I have had in a while - the garlic and cheese for a starter was really really good, followed by a rich & creamy carbonara plus shared some of the rustico pizza with my son. My husbands marinara pasta was also deemed excellent. We finished off with a perfect wobbly pane-cotta And a thick but smooth chocolate mousse.
