Best Indian food ever. Service was great. No complaints whatsoever. Will go again and highly recommend. Owner himself attends to customers which shows care and business sense.

Absolute perfection as always! Ordered the beef vindaloo and garlic nann. Food arrived hot and fresh, curry well balanced and deliciously spicy. Order arrived so quick. Made my night. Thank you ☺️

I ordered butter chicken, daal makhani, paneer tikka masala with garlic, butter and cheese naan bread. All of the curry were based on same gravy which tasted very sweet even for butter chicken it had strong sweet taste, didn’t like it at all. Daal makhani was okay, but paneer tikka masala was sweet and didn’t like it either. Garlic naan bread was unacceptable, there were too much of fresh garlic and turmeric in the bread, the taste was awful. They must be using some sort of food colouring because al of the food had the same dark red colour and all of them taste the same. For a take away worth over $80, I would not recommend this place for dinner.

Best valued Indian around, very tasty. The family meal Deal is a winner

The saffron rice was perfect, and the goat masala curry is amazing, fall-off-the-bone tender and flavours sure to delight the most demanding palette. (I bought take-away as I live over 100 km away, and I still have a traditional goat curry and a lamb rogan josh to look forward to).

Best Indian restaurant in Ringwood 💯 tasty and fresh we highly recommend!

Always a great meal. Have been coming here for years - best curries in the Ringwood area
Julie-Ann Hudson
Food delicious (embarrassed that I couldn't eat all that I ordered). Customer service lovely.

Average food, didn't get what was ordered, charged more than what's in the Zomato menu. Definitely not a 4* rating restaurant. Ordered Veggie Biryani 2*, it was full of fenugreek and fennel, no raita and no salan or salads. Paneer Tikka Masala - 2*, ordered for hot and got extra mild curry. Not a typical tikka masala as it was not dry and had extra sourness from Tomato. Ordered for Paneer Kulcha and got Potato Masala Kulcha. Atleast he acknowledged for mistake and apologized. Too late in the day for any other option. Won't return. Very pricey and not upto the mark.
Jess
Ordered takeaway last night. Lamb Rogan josh was amazing. So tender.
Zuleika Menezes
Tandoori chicken was stale dry and simply re heated. Kashmiri pulao was not as in description- this was simply biryani rice with a really sweet dessert sauce mixed through. Tasted really bad.
KAG
Food was not bad, apart from hairs I found in my food in 2 different dishes. Maybe chefs need to wear hair nets. Naan was burnt and hard.
Probably won't be back

Twenty five years later and this has to be the only Indian restaurant where we leave feeling completely content
The food never lets us down and this family owned and run restaurant has the most loving and caring staff
Having travelled the world Taj Agra’s Indian menu is the one we always come home to

I used Menulog for the first time last night and can say i was not disappointed at all.
My meal arrived on time & was delivered by a well mannered and well presented delivery driver.
My meal was hot & tasted fantastic!
Portions were huge and i couldn't finish my meal.
Highly recommended for local cuisine.
Jess
Delicious! Haven’t dined in before but have had takeaway delivered a couple of times. Super fast delivery. Food is very tasty & fresh. Portions are a good size. Bit of a hidden gem in the outer East. Wish we discovered this place sooner!

I have been patronising Taj Agra for about 20 years and up until the last couple of months it has been flavourful and reliable. However our recent experiences have been dismal. Watery gravy, no spice, gluey naan. I feel like sometimes it may be because we have ordered on the weekend....but come on! Vindaloo had zero heat! Very disappointed.
Tania
Nicely decorated restaurant, friendly staff. We started with potato bondas for entree, two mains with rice and naan bread on the side, was more than enough to feed 2 people plus left overs as well. Food was great, flavoursome and delicious.
The Gastronaut
This place is a really good option in this location. It is kind of a hidden gem. The items on the menu are a bit different from other restaurants. The portions are good and taste good. The naan and other breads are great. The curries are flavorsome too.

Well heard a lot about this place but did not turn out to my expectation.
Food was very ordinary, so was the whole experience.
Better Indian food joints than this.
Ambience is welcoming and staff service is satisfactory.

This 1.5 is for its food. The food is fresh. I can tell. BUT. 0 for its speed. It is very s.....l......o.......w.0 for its size, it is very small!!!!!!!!! We didn't order banquet its combo, we thought the size may be bigger if we order separately. But it is same size, small and expensive!!!!!!! It's dinning in is about 4-5dollar more expensive than the menu on Zomato!!!!! The staff explained it is because the menu on Zomato is a take away menu! But it didn't say! I asked for medium spicy, but it is not spicy at all!!!!!!!! I felt waste of money! Too expensive for the size!!!! The entry the lamb was dry......it was so so small withy such a big bill won't be there any more. Does Indian people's dish that small?!one entry, two main, 2naans, two beer cost 72 dollar. Not worthwhile......... At all

Other people's food looked tasty. However, I never had the chance to eat my mains after waiting well over an hour for them to come out. Not good enough!
Jaldi Garo!

Where do I start?...we arrived at 6.15pm and ordered the $32.50 pp banquet for a table of four, by 8.10pm we had only been served our entree. Our table was ignored for the entire two hours. We questioned the waitress and were informed our mains were another 15 minutes away...that was the straw that broke the camels back! We ended up leaving. If they had simply communicated with us that there was a problem with our order, they would have had satisfied customers but their poor table service coupled with the lack of communication and no apology was very poor indeed. The take away customers seemed to be getting their food very quickly. Our offer to pay for our drinks was declined by the waitress. But in saying that, it does not make up for two hours of very poor service. We will not be back.
Good Food Good Mood
A serious case of exceeds expectations. Looks like nothing much from the front but we stepped into a spacious stunning dining destination. It was fairly empty (perhaps because it was Good Friday) and deathly quiet upon arrival but they soon turned on some soft Bollywood beats as we perused the menu. I was quite overcome by how beautiful it was inside, a bright installation of carpet on the roof, vibrant pink wallpaper dotted with sequinned scenes of Indian romance, pretty chandeliers, a water feature at the entrance and a mirrored depiction of the Taj Mahal- lots of atmosphere going on in what was seemingly a hole in the wall. We decided to get the banquet and for $32.50 I thought it was excellent value particularly as the mains were all you can eat (little did we know we would be so full from round one we couldn't possibly have ordered a second serving). The entrees were pappadums, chicken tikka and samosas. You could actually upgrade the banquet to a more expensive one but we felt the standard was sufficient with all the traditional favourites. The butter chicken sauce was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of the very best I've ever tried (and I've probably tried at least 100). The lamb korma was super soft and succulent too. We also have a fish dish, raita and rice, a veggie dish and plenty of naans. I would have loved to have got more butter chicken but we were already ridiculously full so we finished with the mango ice cream. I will undoubtedly be back here.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I live locally n hav ordered take away many times. There butter chicken is my favorite so creamy n rich with flavor!

Not usually a fan of Indian food but this place is fantastic. The butter chicken is the best I've ever had and the naan bread is to die for!

I'd had my eye on this place for a while as the menu looked very good.So a couple of weeks ago I managed to get there. It was Sunday night and the place was half full. I ordered Palak Paneer very, very hot and rice. They said 20 minutes. O.K. Not a problem. Went back after 20 minutes and then had to wait another 20 minutes for it to arrive.. There was nowhere to sit, so I was perched on the window sill.A 2 minute drive home and I was more than ready to eat.Well, not only was the dish really bland with no spicy heat to it, but it was also cold. I was going to go back and complain, but after such a long wait I really couldn't be bothered. Very disappointed, will not go back

Taj Agra is a beautiful restaurant accompanied with beautifully lovely staff. The food is full of flavour and at a reasonable cost. I tried the beef vindaloo, and after joking with the waiter about how spicy it would be, it was served to me with all of that kick a vindaloo should have. Just the way I like it! 🌶🌶🌶 I will be back to have another pleasant experience at Taj.

Wanted to grab some dinner after shopping at Eastland and having read the good reviews here, stopped by for a meal with family. The place was relatively empty for a Sunday night. Ambience is nice, dimly lit. But the food was just average. I'm an Indian and have eaten at several Indian restaurants in Syd and Mel and didn't find the food great here. It would be good for a rainy day 'take away meal' if you stick to safe North Indian options. The deserts are to be avoided. I'm sure it's 'tinned'.

This was the first dinner out at an Indian restaurant with the family. We were worried that the dishes would be too spicy for the kids, but the experience turned out to be amazing! We ordered chicken tikka, onion bhaji, mango chicken, beef korma, naan and some rice. None of them were spicy, so I would recommend these to families with kids. The staff were welcoming, the seating was nice and the dishes came out promptly. We will definitely come here again.

The food here is absolutely devine & 100% genuine. I order takeaway regularly & it always arrives earlier than expected & there's always plenty. Would never eat anything else.
Steve Goldsmith
Beautiful internal setting, but on a noisy main road with poor parking (rear parking has recently had fees added.) Patchy offerings, some rather pedestrian. The bar for Indian cuisine is higher than ever, Taj Agra used to be one of the best around. Early bird discount is a plus

I never eat Indian takeaway because my mum is Indian and no one can beat her cooking, however when I do eat at an Indian restaurant it is ALWAYS here. Food is well ABOVE average. Must try dishes are the sizzling mixed platter, butter chicken, garlic naan, mango lassi and kulfi. Absolutely amazing. Best Indian restaurant in Melbourne!
Larissa
I have been attending Taj Agra for approx 20 years plus now and they still taste amazing!
Love the combination of flavors and the taste is to die for! Defiantly will keep attending for many years to come!
Try it out!

I've never really been to an Indian restaurant before so this was my first time. Went to Taj Agra for a friend's birthday dinner (also this my friend of a friend's family restaurant).
The ambience was nice with dim lighting and the interior was also lovely.
We ordered butter chicken & lamb korma (both around $18-$20) as well as garlic naan & I forgot what the other naan was, this was shared between 3 people. The food was sooo good, full of flavour & went well with the naan.
Afterwards, the waiter came out with desserts for everyone which we think were on the house (probably because my friend has connections with the owners). So that was extremely nice.
The only thing would be that it's a little pricey for the portions. Other than that, it was an extremely pleasant experience & would definitely recommend!

A favourite take away. Have eaten in a few times too. The food is really tasty and is pretty consistent in quality. Atmosphere is casual and warm. Service is good too. The one thing is that you can order the same dish on different nights and it will be so different. That being said I haven't been disappointed and have eaten form here plenty of times

Having stayed in this area for a while we thought of trying out this place but quite frankly the goat curry, chicken bhuna, paneer tikka and reshmi kebab was very ordinary for taste. Won't try again.

There are quite a few Indian restaurants in Ringwood but this is by far the best. I'd recommend the lamb Korma and mango chicken. Generous servings of tender meat in deliciously rich Indian sauces. The prices are very reasonable too, especially if you order in time for the early bird special. My one criticism is that they need to provide more accurate estimates for when take away orders will be ready for collection. The last few times I've ordered I arrived 10-15 minutes earlier than advised only to find my order waiting for me at the counter. If I'd shown up when they suggested my food would have been stone cold.

Pretty average.

We'd ordered a few stock standard Indian dishes ... and couldn't tell them apart ... Nearly all dishes had the same red curry / spice mix.

A hidden treasure! The decor is beautiful and very clean. The waiters we're welcoming and very polite. Now the food... was AWESOME! Full of flavour and very cheap - $50 for 2! We had the butter chicken (perfectly cooked chicken) and the Bombay beef (very mild), with nann and saffron rice. Absolutely delicious!

Kaiser. The best Indian food we have ever had by far. Thanks Yogi. So much flavour and generous portions, Had enough food for 3 days:)))))) yum yum yum.
App_amaroo36
Highly Recommended. Had a thoroughly enjoyable meal here, the food was fantastic with generous serves and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to going back.

Price is good, the food is average. We were pleasantly surprised that they offered a discount for a purchase before 7pm. Unfortunately the beef was very dry, and tough. The rest of the food was ok

Great food Great service B.... Great food
Great service
Banquet menu is so much food you can hardly finish it!
Warning: beef vindaloo is very hot!

Great value for money. Went here on a friday night and ordered the banquet for $30 per person which included starters, mains and dessert. Service was great, restaurant looked beautiful and clean. Food was delicious and came very quick. The banquet is all you can eat but one serving was already more than enough for the two of us. We even got to take leftovers home as we didn ́t order a second serve. We will definetly be coming back.
Michael
Service is pretty good and the food is just fantastic !! Been there 5 times and can not fault any of the dishes ...
Jessy
Don't go here, food is average and the staff are so rude, never would I ever go back to this place and pay to be treated like that by staff!
Joods
Average. Entrees we had were samosa which were lovely then had grilled mushrooms which were very bland. Then we had Butter Chicken which was just ok. The staff were great and very efficient. Restaurant is very dark with not much lighting. Prob won't go back there which is disappointing as we have been a few times before and was ok.

Taj Agra is the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to, good quality, tasty foods. Friendly staff and quick service
Rex147147
Garbage. I have been here twice and the food is complete tasteless, salty as hell and the staff are rude.Do not waste your time here as the attitude is discraceful, better still go to Chiraag about 3km towards croydon
Barley And Hops
Pretty average. We didn't think this place was the best. Our order was messed up and a couple of our dishes were quite ordinary.

My parents used to dine here when thy started dating over 20 years later and the food has continued to amaze us. This is our number one restaurant we choose to go to. You get your money's worth with absolutely devine food and excellent customer service. If you aren't a hot and spicy person, there are plenty of mild dishes to choose from. My favourite is butter chicken. Gulab jamun would have to be my favourite dessert

Worth the price. My childhood best friend was born in Mumbai, so I learned to love Indian food at an early age.
My family have been in Ringwood since the early 70s. So I have bought take away from Taj Agra many times over many years.

It has ALWAYS been good.

A lot of people go for Indian because it's "cheap". This is not the cheapest Indian restaurant you'll come across, but OMG it's good.

As another reviewer mentioned, too many Indian places offer a "range" of curries but they all taste the same (and seem just slushy and greasy and not much else). Taj Agra offers a range and they are all different and all really good.

We all love their korma. Their dahl is the best I've ever had (lots of flavour and quite fragrant). I'm also a fan of the veg jalfrezi. I've loved every dish I've tried.

I recently got my mum onto Indian food... and she sends me there regularly now!

Delicious Authentic. Great Indian, authentic flavours and everything I have eaten has been delicious. Spent 6 months in India and have found that this restaurant consistently serves many dishes that are the closest resemblance to the flavours experienced there. By far the best in the area and better than any I have tried in the city to date.

Xcllnt food chicken biryani, chicken tikka Masala and spicy Bangalore phal but suggestion that malai kofta should be made of paneer and not only potato
Dom87
Palak paneer here was very tasty, and service was friendly.
Kirstie-lee
Great food, great atmosphere and definitely the better Indian place to go in Ringwood.

Lovely dining experience. We dined in and the food was beautiful. could not fault it and the service attentive. Would definitely go here again.

Great Indian food at great price. I moved to Ringwood a year ago and was happy to find this place in my 2nd night in my house when things weren't unpacked. i mainly order take out but have also dinned there a few times and find the service great. As a vegetarian its great to have such a varied choices that taste so good.
Dine in or Take away i dont think you will be let down as this food is amazing :)
EspritJG
Probably the best Indian Restaurant in the area. All too often Indian restaurants get lazy and seem to offer 20 different curries that look and taste largely the same as each other. Taj Agra is refreshing different. They seem to cook to order and each dish is prepared with authentic flair. The decor is above average, the staff are above average and the food will make you come back time and time again. Park round the back if I were you!

I've always found the owner and staff here to be very friendly. Nice decor, can get noisy when busy, which is to be expected with any busy restaurant. I've always enjoyed the different curry dishes that I've tried and their take away lamb chops. However recently the chops were over cooked and dry as a result instead of being their usual succulent morsels. The naan bread, papadums and dips are lovely. Best Indian Restaurant in Ringwood.

Delicious! By far my favorite Indian Restaurant.. The Beef Vindaloo at Taj Agra, Ringwood is delicious! The flavor is all there and it keeps me coming back. I've tried every Indian restaurant in Croydon/Ringwood; takeaway Beef Vindaloo, and this place is by far the best. The Beef is tender and the flavor is delicious! Recommended! Nice staff too! By far my favorite Indian Restaurant.
Michael
Awesome. This place is banging son. They gots really consistently tasty food and excellent naan. Prices are pretty decent and i usually can get away with a giant dinner for two for 40-60 depending on what is ordered. Take away is even better. Alcohol prices are also pretty low compared to other places. Staff are always polite even if not everyone's english is the best.

Finally I have severe food allergies and they always are fairly accommodating and help me pick out food that I can have.

++++

Delicious Family Pack & Great All-rounder Indian Food. We've been eating takeaway and dining here for years. Very generous portions and tasty sauces cooked authentically. You cannot go past the $50 for 4 Family Pack. Unbeatable value with 2 entrees per person and 4 large mains to share with two large rices and a bottle of soft drink and pappadums and dipping yogurts/sauces. You are full with leftovers! The lovely people who work there are the sealer for me. Best Indian in Ringwood.
Ashecorven
Good local Indian, don't bother travelling too far though. Wide range of selections and good food.
Prices are high and it takes some time to get your food.
Main thing that let's it down is the location, right next to three clubs and can be a little annoying.
Jtai
Love it! - Get the Banquet. We love this place, the flavours are so great with all the dishes. You can tell they use good ingredients and plenty of spices.
The Take away banquet is fantastic, can feed 4 very hungry people (always left overs) but probably best for 6. Fantastic value!!
Larnie
Have only ever ordered take-away and picked up on the way home instead of having it delivered and have now made a vow to dine in next time - lovely atmosphere and clearly popular! Always great food and friendly service.
Allison Lynch
Best Indian - love it!
Mark Macdonald
Tried the banquet, an huge amount of serves for $30 per person. All tasted great, perfect naan and a great place to now frequent. Homemade mango ice cream was an awesome finish. 2 thumbs up.
