Review Rolld Vietnamese - Ringwood

Emma Strommer
The worst, smallest, most expensive Bahn Mi I have ever eaten. Poor customer service. Wish I read the reviews beforehand. Ordered a “roast pork roll with crackling” - she says “ok, we don’t have crackling though, that ok?” I said “no, that’s the best part” she suggested trying the pork belly instead so I did. It was disgusting. Like dry pork jerky and barely any of it. No nice pâté, pickled carrots were hardly pickled. She asked if I wanted chilli, I said yes. I didn’t get a single seed of chilli in it. Robbery. This place needs to be put in the bin.

Ordered 1 banhmi tofu, took 15 mins to make when there were no customers in the line, asked specifically to cut in half - didn't. When cut in half salad fell out and wasn't refilled properly. Filling was merely any, 1 slice of each ..... Never again.....

Worst customer service ever!!!! The worker with the nose ring needs to work on their customer service skills. I didn't get served at all and I waited in line. Two customers had pushed infront of me the this worker accepted that kind of behaviour, that is not okay. Still doesn't even deserve a star.

Had a nasty expereince when ordered a chicken rice dish and got a beef noodles one. And I am not a beef eater ! When went back to confirm staff wasn't sure how it happened none of them accepted their mistake instead one of them asked me to pay more money for the chicken one which later he realised that it was the same price. Nevertheless they replaced my order with the right one post that. Still not going to Roll'd again !

Ordered a Bánh Mì, but they were so busy with Uber orders, that it took them 20 mins to get me my order. Prioritise customers that are already there, mate.
Hmm
Name checks out, I ‘got rolled’, or maybe I accidentally ordered a ‘Burnht Mi’. Expensive for a Banh Mi, 1 rice paper roll & drink ($17.70). Was surprised they’d even serve this, surely they looked at the bread whilst making it?

Very good food and service. I accidentally got the incorrect order. Called in and they had my order waiting for me. Also got to sample the other dish that I had walked away with. I wish I had a picture to post but that’s a compliment to the food, there’s nothing left to take pictures of ! It was that good ! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Ordered 2 rice paper rolls, one with pork the other with duck. Both were bulked out with noodles and the small amount of meat that was present was tough, dry and tasteless. The rice paper on the duck roll was rubbery and difficult to chew. I wish I had read the other reviews before I went here. They can’t be too serious about improving otherwise they would have done it already.

Everytime I have come here (4 times in 7months), things get progressively worse.
I've always liked the idea of Viet street food but unfortunately this is far, far from anything edible.

The broth tastes like pure msg stock with nothing more.

When asked for a wedge of lemon they stated "we don't serve that with our cups of pho" which is just ridiculous cost-cutting and crappy service.

The meat in banh-mi and pho tastes rotten.

Not even the fresh coriander tastes like coriander.

It's so unfortunate, a franchise such as this should strive to deliver quality, especially in the name of Viet street food!!

Additionally, the service from behind the counter was pretty bad, not shocking but not a nice experience to say the least.

Been here a variety of times now and never ever disappointed! My biggest problem is....I never know which ones to pick because they all look so darn good!

Went with the low carb poached chicken and chicken and avocado soldiers which were absolutely delicious.
I think the poached chicken was my favourite!

Service was quick and everyone was very friendly.

Looking forward to my next visit!

I just had a pork Banh Mi. Worst one I’ve ever had. Dreadful bread and dry miserable pork. Very disappointing. I certainly won’t be in any hurry to return.

The worst customer service. I’ve been here 5-6 times because I keep giving it a chance but they never improve. Every time they manage to muck up my order. They always put coriander on even when I ask for none, and they gave me a pork noodle dish when I asked for a tofu salad. Useless. Employees don’t listen.

Decided to try something different from Rolld and decided to go for the Lemon grass noodle salad meal it was ok from a chain but not as authentic it came in a meal with x2 pork springroll but i could not taste any pork at all.

I had the bbq chicken bao. The bao, salad and chicken were all delicious and fresh. There needed to be more chicken to make the salad to chicken ratio correct. Also $4.50 for one bao in a food court is far too steep.

We popped into Rolld as I had to exchange something at the shops and were a little peckish. I always begrudge their abnormally high prices as over $4 for a rice paper roll is kind of ridiculous. It might be ok if their fillings were substantial but they are pretty stingy with the meat. Eg I think I saw one tiny shrimp in my garlic prawn roll. I also had a bbq chicken and a lemongrass beef. Not a lot of flavour but the hoisin sauce gives it that extra deliciousness. Hubby got the roast duck roll and the Lemongrass beef salad. Overall relatively healthy but not overly filling. At least they are fresh

Lovely food, I love the Pho. Never had a bad experience! Would definitely recommend. Some people say it's overly expensive but I disagree, if you buy the right thing it can be a cheap, delicious lunch!

Below Average & Expensive

Vietnamese food is meant to be cheap n cheerful but this franchise is bland. I ordered the lemon grass beef bun and the beef was dry, lukewarm and had no lemongrass flavour. It was obviously pre-cooked and the assembly of my meal reminded me of subway (i.e. precooked meats etc).

Also, the fish sauce was just fish sauce, no garlic or chilli in sight. I wouldn't recommend this as it's expensive for what you get - $12.50 is a rip off. I should have just got a bucket of hot chips or Chinese food.

Two things are wrong with the description: "street food", and "fresh". I ordered a Bahn mi ($9.50!!!!) and it was absolutely foul. The pork crackle tasted old and inedible and it was soggy. Sorry, guys. I can get a Bahn mi in Springvale for half the price, which won't be soggy, and is actually fresh (and more similar to Vietnamese street food in both price and flavour). Serves me right for buying a $9.50 Bahn mi from some wanky hipster joint!

Was pleasantly surprised picking up a catering order from here. I picked up early in the morning and I could see they were preparing my order on the spot. Dietary requests were confirmed several times. Friendly staff. Guests commented positively on the quality. Would order from here again.
Hunger Pains
I normally don't mind a crackling pork Banh mi from here. However this time the pork was atrociously dry and lacking fillings, it was a major let down. The pho was not much better. The rice paper rolls do look delicious though and I really regret not ordering them instead.

I try not to review food chains but felt pretty ticked off with my experience at Rolld Eastland. I have been here twice now and on both times the staff have been unfriendly and inattentive. Both times I have made eye contact with staff members and still it takes a while for the staff to take the order. A simple "sorry I'll be with you in a couple of minutes" would be great - but here, nada! Anyway, I can deal with this because it is in a food court and you're not paying for outstanding service however the food is also bellow par. By far the worst Bahn Mi I've ever had (and most expensive). The meat tasted microwaved and was so dry. Hardly any fillings. I felt crook afterward. No idea how they can justify charging $8.90 for this. Won't be back.

I love the food at Roll'd and often pop down to Eastland for a few 'soldiers'. However I was served by a young blonde girl who was so incredibly rude that I felt compelled to write this. As I approached the counter she audibly groaned because I wanted to place an order. She then ignored me until I said 'excuse me' and told me she would be a couple of minutes because she was in the middle of something! After she finally served me and I received my order I told her that I had asked for something different she proceeded to argue with me and then rolled her eyes. She was also rude to the other staff member who was there. If I was one of the owners of Roll'd I would be horrified that staff were treating customers in this way. I'll go back to the store again as the food is great and generally the staff are friendly. I'll just avoid it if that sour little cow is there!
