Review Angeethi Indian Restaurant - Ringwood

Josh Thomas
The restaurant ambience is awesome but food was just the opposite! The two dishes we tried were almost similar and the gravy used was too sweet not any where close to Indian authentic cuisine. It was understandable if it was butter chicken but nah not every dish can be so carelessly and generically made. Sorry to say this, food wasn't up to the expectations at all. The staff was courteous and the ambience is good but not food! might not visit again ...

Pretty disappointing experience tonight. We've had takeaway from here before and it was good. Tonight, we waited over an hour - in a restaurant with only 3 tables of customers - for our food, and one of the pieces of chicken was undercooked (pink) inside. To her credit the waitress was apologetic, but still.. When you're turning down free desserts from a restaurant, you know you've had a bad time. If you want food from here, get takeaway. Eating in takes way too long

Takeaway: delivery times were as expected and appropriately when they quoted, which was good. Food: overall very nice. Suited to a western tongue, tender chicken pieces with great tasting sauces. Not too spicy, good flavours.

Our group of 6 walked in at 9:30 after a suit fitting down the road last night and they happily served us. All the food was great and both waiters helpful and friendly and. I just wish they were closer to where I live so I could come back more.

TOO SWEET!!! Everything: Kashmiri Naan, Raita, Curries etc all to sweet and overpowered any spice taste. The Biryani rice was terrible and tomato based, more Mexican than Indian. My advice to this restaurant is to stop trying to fool us, it's nothing like authentic Indian food,

The worst service i have ever received could not even found my house on a main road dont waste your time. Then was told a fresh meal would be cooked and delivered 9 mins later the driver arrives with a cold soggy meal the worst I've ever had

Got a take away. All the curries were too sweet. Not very decent customer service. If chef of this restaurant reads it, easy on the sugar. You are cooking curries not making tea.

Too sweet, everything. Rice, Raita Curries and Naan all saturated with sugar It's far from authentic and the owners need to look at themselves and stop fooling patrons,

Standard takeaway indian..its not bad for the price range. I have not eaten in and wouldnt want to..looks seedy. The butter chicken is too sweet, the lamb is not bad.

Meh. Was good for the price but there are much better indian restaurants around, was a bit bland and runny

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Or.... DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!
Ordered a simple butter chicken and saffron rice, driver dropped it all over our lawn and then was rude so he said he was going to take it back and get us a new one free of charge, brought the new one back and expected money, then left we called the resturant and they were completely rude, poor customer service and poor food.

SERIOUSLY POOR/RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Avoid this.Very rude customer service. The lady at the reception must not work there if they want to keep customers.

I've been getting takeaways for a few years. I think their are a few places with better food, but with such good prices, it's still one of the best value places around. The vegetarian sampler is great and most of their curries are really good (recc the dansak or saag), but be warned, they're pretty light on with the quality and quantity of meat. Despite that, it's the perfect place for those nights when you decide you can't be bothered cooking.

Good cheap eat with good flavour. When we get takeaway the service is quick, the food is good, price is good. Eating in the staff are very polite, however can be hard to get attention without a 'hoy'

Tried a spicy lamb vindaloo. Yum, just right. Wife had Dhal with black beans. Was a delicious treat. Really enjoyed the friendly staff. It is evident that the owners are keen to provide the right balance of great food and overall experience. Keep up the good work.

Very average. I decided to order from here based on the reviews. It was very average and disappointing to say the least. We ordered the meal deal for two people. The entrée was very dry and tasteless. The main curries had 6 pieces of lamb and chicken in each container half filled with sauce. The only container that was full was the rice. The meat in the curries were also very dry and tough. The flavour of the sauce was nice though, probably the only redeeming feature of the meal.

Found this place whilst browsing some website and thought of giving it a go. Arrived at the place and there was another couple at the place. Was a bit worried as it was around 7pm and it was really empty after the other couple left. But on that website, it had a 4/5 star review, so might as well give it a go. It also got reassured when the phone at that place kept on ringing and people coming in for their order pickups. Had the butter chicken, aloo gobhi, pappadams and saffron rice. The butter chicken was really yummy but like any Indian restaurants, it's always the same thing... It's in that small golden or sometimes silver traditional bowl they serve and it's only got 4-5 pieces of small chicken in there. What gives???? It's like they tempt you and entices you to order more! Oh well.. The other dishes was just normal and nothing much to harp on about. Their saffron rice is a bit bland and is very different from most where here is mixed with also white basmathi rice instead of just the full golden coloured rice... Didn't really enjoyed that. However the service at this place is really good or perhaps it's only from this one guy and that the place was empty.... :/ He offered pappadam refills and also provided suggestions if planning to order home delivery in the future. Just quote the guys name and you'll get some special discount. Let's see if he lives up to his name ... ;)

I never normally write restaurant reviews, but in this case I simply had to warn people of this place.. It's a Friday night and I'm in the mood for a quiet night in so I decide on getting some take away delivered and I stumble cross this place on menulog on which it has 4/5 stars(rigged!). For an appetizer I got chicken Manchurian, which was meant to be chicken from the tandoor 'chefs suggestion', but in actual fact is mystery meatballs in sauce. I called them up to make sure I received the correct meal to be reassured that I had. The balls we're red and dry, I tasted about a quarter of one, yuck! And for main I got malai fish, once I opened the container I noticed a smell so I went closer to the container and I don't know how else to say it, but it smelt like faeces, I had no-one else around at the time to confirm my opinion(which was later confirmed, without me hinting my thoughts to them) so I tried a tiny bit, only to spit it out and wash my mouth out, the fish was obviously off. I didn't bother to taste the rice and naan as I was extremely put off. I won't be trying them again because no food should be that bad. Health risk.

Ordered the value pack for 2 . The veggie pakoras were overcooked and dry. Murg tikka lovely. Kofta for main, the sauce was nice; 4 balls were dry and I couldn't tell
If they were cottage cheese or just flour balls! Lamb Madras ; fantastic sauce how ever the lamb(if that's what it was) was tough and stringy. 1 hour from order to delivery and they don't advertise it's $6 for delivery. I may try again as the flavours were tasty. Staff had trouble with English .

Delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. Absolutely lovely staff and beautiful food. A family favourite, we order takeaway from here almost weekly and are never disappointed. Highly recommended!
