Review Eddy + Wolff - Robina

Amazing food. The Lucky menu is true, because I was lucky to have everything i ordered be absolutely delicious and more. I thought the portions wouldn't be enough to fill me but by the end of it all, I was satisfied! Amazing suggestions by the chef too, and definitely a great fusion for foodies. Also great cocktails! A must experience at least once for some light fine dining.

We had a lovely dinner at Eddy + Wolff on Saturday night. We sat at the bar with a perfect view to the kitchen and it was wonderful to watch our food being prepared. The wait staff were attentive and friendly, the service was impeccable and our drinks were perfect. We decided to go with the Chef's selection and we were not disappointed. Everything exceeded expectations, some of my highlights were the moo ping, the galbi, the char siu lamb and the soy sauce ice cream (much like salted caramel). We will be back!

My husband and I got the "Feed Me" banquet, and it was amazing! You get to try a variety of flavours from BBQ skewers, to fresh oysters, to big meals and delicious side dishes. Also, can we talk about that crispy eggplant? SO GOOD! Lucky for them I wasn't wearing my comfy pants, otherwise I would've kept eating. Hahah The gin was also delicious! And the service was great! Definitely coming back!

Amazing food! Relatively small portions but every one tastes amazing! Packed full with flavor and just absolutely perfect. Even though this is technically a bar, I’m coming back for the food. Also, DO NOT SKIP OUT ON DESSERTS! The whipped cheesecake is divine.

My third visit to E+W last night, it’s my favourite restaurant on the Gold Coast and is worth the drive down from Brisbane for dinner! I love its unexpected location, uber cool & energetic ambience, warm knowledgeable service and creative pan Asian menu. Head Chef & co-owner Vien has a serious talent for balancing the sweet/salty/sour/spicy spectrum and the highlights for me are the hibachi grilled prawns, soy sauce ice cream and ox tongue skewers (something I never would have ordered until the team highly recommended it!). The drinks menu is well curated with a solid selection of everything from Australian wines to sake, Asian-liquor cocktails, rare Japanese beer and everything in between. Manager Rafe has a fine appreciation of all the drops and recommends great pairings. At E+W, most seats are around the bar so suits a party of 1 to 4 but there’s also two small tables which can be booked for a larger group. (This would be a fab venue to host an intimate cocktail party!) All in all, I recommend the “Dine Like The Wolff” experience which allows the chefs to serve you their current favourite dishes - a must-visit for locals and tourists alike! PS. I can’t help but add that the recent 3 star review (an anomaly amongst all the 5 stars..) complaining about the loud music was ironic as the music is one of the things I love about E+W and largely why it feels like you’ve stepped into an edgy laneway bar in Asia. This is definitely not where I’d take my grandmother for a serious conversation - but it’s not designed to be, and asking a restaurant to change one of its elements just because it doesn’t suit you, is perhaps a bit rich!

Amazing vibe, food, drinks (umeshu and yuzushu) and service. It was our first time, so we let the chef choose for us. We were impressed by each dish and our taste buds ecstatic! My mind is still blown away by the soy sauce ice cream. Will definitely be back to try the tofu cheesecake. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see what the chef (Vinh) and team creates next! Will definitely be back and recommending to my friends.

Hands down the absolute best dining experience on the Gold Coast for both price and foodie experience! This restaurant is like no other here in GC and the food is simply unmatched in terms of flavours and execution. I love the fusion choices that the chefs have made that surely stems from an eclectic experience from many parts of Asian cuisine. The environment is cozy, hip and welcoming with out-of-this-world service. This place is perfect for a long night of eating and drinking with a date and/or partner. You'll come back for more, I sure will be!

Obviously we came to this restaurant for the food and here it fulfilled our expectations, but as a complete experience we were less than happy with the loud music playing annoying hip hop music and the attitude of the manager when settling our expensive bill. When we asked if the music could be turned down, the waitress said she would ask “but the answer is always a ‘no’ “. The manager advised the restaurant was a loud noisy atmosphere by design. Don’t go here if you are over 35. It’s not the place for conversation with your guests! When my guests insisted on paying for the wine I asked that the total bill be split for food and wine. The manager replied this was not possible but the total bill could be split 50:50. This not what we wanted. He advised that was the system and it could not be changed. Totally inflexible for a rather reasonable request. The table reservation procedure on line is unnecessarily very strict with the total food bill to be paid by credit card online. Then very strict rules if you need to cancel with a $50 per person cancellation fee. Since there were many places vacant on the Friday night we were there, perhaps this cheeky policy has a negative impact on bookings. The food was tasty and well presented, but it’s not a restaurant we will be returning to. The overall experience was lacking and not worth the $90 per person plus drinks. The owners should take the other important parts of the dining experience as seriously as their food.

When Thao and Vien Nguyen took over Can Tho Kitchen from Thao’s mother in 2014, they transformed the Runaway Bay restaurant into a colourful eatery and bar. Its walls told the story of a family’s migration from Vietnam to Australia. Five years of success further on, the couple have opened a second, far more intimate venue on Commerce Drive, Robina.
