Review Stonegrill Restaurant - Rockhampton

Came up here for a holiday. Googled great steak places and this one came up!! More then happy with the food! Steak was phenomenal. And the staff were very inviting. Will definitely eat here next time we are in the area. 10/10 would recommend

Tenderloin fillet soooo soft and the cube roll soooo tasty! Perfect way to eat a rare piece of steak. It's a little dearly priced but we'll be back every time we drove through Rockhampton!

Wonderful experience at Stone grill restaurant! I suggest the trio meat: Beef, Crocodile and Kangaroo! It's terrific! It won't disappoint you! Friendly stuff and great meal, what else? Highly recommend!

The Best Steak Experience Ever , It melts in your mouth.

Lovely hosts doing their best. Understaffed. Cook your own, on a stone. With their guidance and encouragement adding to the fun. Unfortunately my steak was overcooked by the time it reached my table.

I looked up best steak restaurants in Rockhampton and this establishment came up as number 1 ,highest star award at 4.5. It definitely doesn't cut the mustard. We opted for a light meal. They always say trust your gut feeling and glad we did. We ordered the calamari of the day and garlic bread with some cold drinks. The garlic bread was some flat bread with jar garlic and margarine on it warmed through - it reached the "yuck" level in my culinary vocabulary. The calamari came out in two whole tubes semi sliced ,crumbed and deep fried. I cut a piece off and put it in my mouth. Not a enjoyable experience. Saturated in oil and chewy. Both dishes left unfinished. We decided not to stay for dessert or a main as this was enough to gauge what was to come. So 2 alcoholic beverages, 2 soft drinks, garlic bread and calamari of the day, just over $60 what a sorrowful experience and waste of money.

It was a whole experience. The staff were great and explained the whole process and all the different flavours of the meat. A must try if you want steak in town

We all know that different cut of meat taste differently. The best way to appreciate it is to give a visit at this little hidden restaurant. I realised that what I thought only subtle difference was actually distinctive flavour and texture between cuts like tenderloin, rump, striploin and cuberoll. The owner was lovely and knowledgeable, clearly holding passion for good steak. Not the most posh venue in terms of presentation and decor, but I personally do not worry too much about these when I am in a mood for good steak!

What a fantastic place, Will was an amazing host, the steaks were exceptional would recommend anybody and everybody to give this place a try, the prices are pretty good too

Absolutely amazing food. The best you’ve ever had! It’s going to be a regular eat out place now. Even the children want to go back again! Great hospitality as well. ���

The wife and i have always wanted to try the ascot stone grill we were lucky enough to try it today the service was awesome and the steak was absolutely amazing highly recommend anyone to try this we will definitely be back for another crack and thanks for the wonderful service

Great experience to have delicious stone grill steak in this restaurant� I want to go there soon again.

Had a brilliant afternoon here at the Ascot Hotel. Will and Len were good craic and made me feel right at home! The ribeye steak was absolutely delicious and Will's explanation of the different cuts and the cooking technique was top notch. Diolch!!
