Review Malaysia House Rockhampton - Rockhampton

Went through all the reviews to make sure we are not gonna get horrible food. (bad experience few days back at Malaysia House in Mackay - definitely AVOID that restaurant 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻), we ordered a couple of safe dishes recommended in the reviews here. Avoided the massaman curry etc .. ordered the fried kuay teow and Mee Goreng. First photo is the fried kuay teow. It has enough "wok hei" which means it is pretty authentic to a Malaysian fried kuay teow, so that is a 5 star from me. Mee goreng is quite good, not 5 star but 4. Both dishes are very oily so if you are counting macros or watching what you eat, these are not the dishes for you. Taste wise very good. Also ordered the kuih ketayap (no photo) with the vanilla ice cream. It's a green colour dessert. It is okay, not fantastic but ok (3.5 stars). Staff are friendly. I will go back again. Price wise not cheap but like all the reviews say, dishes are big. Msg level tolerable - yes there's msg probably in the sauces. I have a big appetite so I was full, no leftovers.

Best Laksa I have ever had in Australia. Full flavoured and generous in proportion. Addition of some herbs is the only thing that could improve it. Next time I will ask for some Vietnamese mint or similar

Best Malayalam meal in town, I have been to Rockhampton twice and eaten here twice on each trip. Each time I have been here the restaurant is always full, so it's better to book a table. I have not seen one dissatisfied customer,

Best Char Kway Teow I've had in like 15 years! Super delicious! Well done chef, my hats off to you! Staff were attentive and friendly eventhough they were very busy. Thank you for the memorable dinner, will be back again when I'm on my travels north.

Met the best tofu in AUS here! Salt and pepper silken tofu is my favourite. Thanks for offering such a surprise to us.

Great meal at affordable prices. Staff were fantastic. Will be our go to place when back in Rockhampton.

In terms of Asian cuisine, this restaurant is worth recommending.☺️ I like their fried crabs🤤😋

Really nice Asian food. We were pleasantly surprised as we don’t know the area and were staying across the Rd. Was super busy! Mongolian beef was lovely as was the pad Thai (great sauce!) will definitely have to stop in again.

I've been there several times and it's always great authentic food. I've been to most Asian countries and I doubt you'd get better than here.

Terrible experience. Curry puffs were still frozen inside, the roti was oily and not flaky as it should be, the beef rendang was tasteless and the beef tough and we dined to the sound of the microwave going off in the kitchen. If you want authentic Malaysian, do not go here! We choose it based on the reviews but the experience did not match up!

Lunch was great really good price and yummy food we all enjoyed it we will go back� oh and great service�

Pretty authentic taste. Plenty of choices too. Rocky is definitely spoilt!

I took my wife there for Dinner, the portions were generous and the meals were great and good value to boot. Will be back.
